প্রথম রাজাবলি 5
1 ১ সোরের রাজা হীরম যখন শুনলেন যে, শলোমনকে তাঁর বাবার জায়গায় রাজপদে অভিষেক করা হয়েছে তখন তাঁর দাসদের তিনি শলোমনের কাছে পাঠালেন, কারণ দায়ূদের সঙ্গে হীরমের সব দিন ই বন্ধুত্বের সম্পর্ক ছিল।
And Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants to Solomon; for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the room of his father: for Hiram was ever a lover of David.
And Solomon sent to Hiram, saying,
3 ৩ “আমার বাবা দায়ূদের বিরুদ্ধে চারদিক থেকে যুদ্ধ হয়েছিল, তাই যতদিন সদাপ্রভু তাঁর শত্রুদের তাঁর পায়ের তলায় না আনলেন ততদিন তিনি তাঁর ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর নামে কোনো উপাসনা ঘর তৈরী করতে পারেন নি। আপনি তো এই সব কথা জানেন।
Thou knowest how that David my father could not build a house to the name of the LORD his God, for the wars which were about him on every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet.
4 ৪ কিন্তু এখন আমার ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু সব দিক থেকেই আমাকে বিশ্রাম দিয়েছেন। এখন আমার কোনো শত্রু নেই এবং কোনো দুর্ঘটনাও ঘটেনি।
But now the LORD my God hath given me rest on every side, [so that there is] neither adversary nor evil occurrent.
5 ৫ সেইজন্য আমি আমার ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশ্যে একটা উপাসনা ঘর তৈরী করতে চাই। যেমন সদাপ্রভু আমার বাবা দায়ূদকে বলেছিলেন, ‘তোমার যে ছেলেকে আমি সিংহাসনে তোমার জায়গায় বসাব সেই আমার উদ্দেশ্যে উপাসনা ঘর তৈরী করবে।’
And behold, I purpose to build a house to the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spoke to David my father, saying, Thy son, whom I will set upon thy throne in thy room, he shall build a house to my name.
6 ৬ কাজেই আপনি হুকুম করুন যাতে আমার জন্য লিবানোন দেশের এরস গাছ কাটা হয়। অবশ্য আমার লোকেরা আপনার লোকদের সঙ্গে থাকবে এবং আপনি যে মজুরী ঠিক করে দেবেন আমি সেই মজুরিই আপনার লোকদের দেব। আপনার তো জানা আছে যে, গাছ কাটবার জন্য সীদোনীয়দের মত পাকা লোক আমাদের মধ্যে কেউ নেই।”
Now therefore command thou, that they hew me cedar trees out of Lebanon; and my servants shall be with thy servants: and to thee will I give hire for thy servants according to all that thou shalt appoint: for thou knowest that [there is] not among us any that is skilled in hewing timber like the Sidonians.
7 ৭ শলোমনের কাছ থেকে এই খবর পেয়ে হীরম খুব খুশী হয়ে বললেন, “আজ সদাপ্রভুর গৌরব হোক, কারণ এই মহান জাতির উপরে রাজত্ব করবার জন্য দায়ূদকে তিনি এমন একটি জ্ঞানী ছেলে দান করেছেন।”
And it came to pass, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly, and said, Blessed [be] the LORD this day, who hath given to David a wise son over this great people.
8 ৮ হীরম শলোমনকে এই খবর পাঠালেন, “আপনার পাঠানো খবর আমি পেয়েছি। এরস ও দেবদারু কাঠের ব্যাপারে আপনার সব ইচ্ছাই আমি পূর্ণ করব।
And Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, I have considered the things which thou sentest to me for: [and] I will perform all thy desire concerning timber of cedar, and concerning timber of fir.
9 ৯ আমার লোকেরা সেগুলো লিবানোন থেকে নামিয়ে সমুদ্রে আনবে। তারপর আমি সেগুলো দিয়ে ভেলা তৈরী করে সমুদ্রে ভাসিয়ে আপনার নির্দিষ্ট করা জায়গায় পাঠিয়ে দেব। সেখানে তারা সেগুলো খুলে ফেলবে আর তখন আপনি সেগুলো নিয়ে যেতে পারবেন। আমার রাজবাড়ীর লোকদের জন্য খাবার দেওয়ার মাধ্যমে আপনি আমার ইচ্ছা পূরণ করবেন।”
My servants shall bring [them] down from Lebanon to the sea: and I will convey them by sea in floats to the place that thou shalt appoint me, and will cause them to be discharged there, and thou shalt receive [them]: and thou shalt accomplish my desire, in giving food for my household.
So Hiram gave Solomon cedar trees and fir trees [according to] all his desire.
11 ১১ আর শলোমন হীরমকে তাঁর রাজবাড়ীর লোকদের খাবারের জন্য তিন হাজার ছশো টন গম ও চার হাজার আটশো লিটার খাঁটি তেল দিলেন। শলোমন বছরের পর বছর তা দিতে থাকলেন।
And Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand measures of wheat [for] food to his household, and twenty measures of pure oil: thus gave Solomon to Hiram year by year.
12 ১২ সদাপ্রভু তাঁর প্রতিজ্ঞা অনুসারে শলোমনকে জ্ঞান দিলেন। হীরম ও শলোমনের মধ্যে শান্তির সম্বন্ধ ছিল এবং তাঁরা দুজনে একটা চুক্তি করলেন।
And the LORD gave Solomon wisdom, as he promised him: and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon; and they two made a league together.
And king Solomon raised a levy out of all Israel; and the levy was thirty thousand men.
14 ১৪ প্রতি মাসে পালা পালা করে তাদের মধ্য থেকে তিনি দশ হাজার লোককে লেবাননে পাঠাতেন। তারা একমাস লেবাননে থাকত আর দু মাস থাকত নিজের বাড়িতে। তাদের এই কাজের দেখাশোনার ভার ছিল অদোনীরামের উপর।
And he sent them to Lebanon ten thousand a month by courses; a month they were in Lebanon, [and] two months at home. And Adoniram [was] over the levy.
And Solomon had seventy thousand that bore burdens, and eighty thousand hewers in the mountains;
Besides the chief of Solomon's officers who [were] over the work, three thousand and three hundred, who ruled over the people that wrought in the work.
And the king commanded, and they brought great stones, costly stones, [and] hewed stones, to lay the foundation of the house.
18 ১৮ শলোমন ও হীরমের মিস্ত্রিরা ও গিব্লীয়েরা সেই পাথরগুলো সুন্দর করে কেটে উপাসনা ঘরটি তৈরী করবার জন্য কাঠ ও পাথর তৈরী করল।
And Solomon's builders, and Hiram's builders did hew [them], and the stone-squarers: so they prepared timber and stones to build the house.
