1 Hina Gode! Na da Dima bagadewane asigisa. Di da na gaga: sudafa.
Yahweh, I love you, the one who enables me to be strong.
2 Hina Gode da na gaga: sudafa. E da na gasa bagade gagoi gala. E da na gaga: sa amola na da E guga esalea, enoga wadela: mu da hamedei. E da gaga: su liligi agoaiga na gaga: sa.
Yahweh is like an [overhanging] rock [DOU, MET] [under which I can hide from my enemies]; he is like a strong fortress, the one who protects me; he protects me like a shield [MET] [protects a soldier]; he is the one to whom I go (for refuge/to be protected/safe), and he defends me by his great power [IDM].
3 Na da Hina Godema wele sia: sea, E da na ha lai ilima na gaga: sa. Hina Godema nodoma!
I called out to Yahweh, who deserves to be praised, and he rescued me from my enemies.
4 Na bogomu gadenenewane ba: i. Wadela: su liligi hano fugala: i agoane da na dedebomu galu.
All around me were dangerous situations in which I might be killed [PRS]; it was as though there were huge waves [MET] that almost crashed on me and killed me.
5 Na bogomu da gadenenewane ba: i. Bogoi uli dogoi da sani agoane dili dialu. (Sheol )
[It was as though] the place where dead people are had ropes that were wrapped around me, or [it was as though] there was a trap [MET] that would [seize and] kill me. (Sheol )
6 Na da se nababeba: le, Hina Godema wele sia: i dagoi. Na da E na fidima: ne wele sia: i. E da Ea Debolo diasu ganodini na fidima: ne wele sia: su nabi dagoi.
But when I was very distressed, I called out to Yahweh, and from his temple he heard me. He listened to me when I cried out [for help].
7 Amalalu, osobo bagade da fofogoi. Goumi ilia bai amola da igugui. Bai Gode da ougi bagade ba: i.
Then the earth quaked/shook strongly [DOU]; the mountains shook very strongly from their centers [DOU] because Yahweh was angry.
8 Ea mi gelabo amoga lalu mobi ahoanebe ba: i. Ea lafidili, lalu sawa: amo da liligi nenanebedawa: , amola nasubu su gilisili ahoanebe ba: i.
[It was as though] smoke poured out from his nostrils, and [as though] burning coals came out of his mouth.
9 E da mu alalo gadelai amola mu mobi gasimiginisi gala amo da: iya osoboga dalebe ba: i.
He opened the sky and came down with a black cloud under his feet.
10 E da liligi hedofo galebe amoga fila heda: le ahoanebe ba: i. E da fedege agoane fo da hedofo galebe amoga fila heda: le ahoanebe ba: i.
He flew, riding on the back of a creature that had wings, traveling [fast], blown along by the wind.
11 E da gasimigi amoga uligi ba: i. Mu mobi gadugagi amo da hanoga nabai amoga E sisiga: i dagoi.
Darkness was all around him [like a blanket] [MET]; dark clouds, full of moisture, covered him [MET].
12 Mugene igi agoai amola lalu gona: su digagala: su da ha: ha: na bagade amoga misini mu mobi gasimigi amo dugagale dalebe ba: i.
Hailstones and flashes of lightning were around him; hail and burning coals fell from the sky.
13 Amalalu, Hina Gode Ea sia: da muagado gugelebe agoane nabi. Dunu huluane da Gode Gadodafa Ea sia: nabi.
Then Yahweh [spoke in a loud voice] from the sky, and [his enemies] heard his voice that sounded like thunder.
14 E da Ea dadi dili fisiagagai. Ea ha lai dunu huluane da afafane hobea: i. E da ha: ha: na digagala: su amoga gala: beba: le, ilia da hobea: i dagoi.
He shot his arrows at them and caused them to scatter; His flashes of lightning caused them to become very confused (OR, to run away).
15 Hina Gode! Di da Dima ha lai ilima gagabole sia: noba amola ilima ougiba: le gasa bagade sia: noba, hano wayabo bagade da hale hafoga: i dagoi ba: i. Osobo bagade ea bai huluane ba: i dagoi.
The bottom of the ocean became visible, and the foundations of the earth were uncovered, when Yahweh rebuked his enemies when he snorted.
16 Hina Gode da ea lobo gududa: le guduli, na gagulaligi, amola hano lugudu bagade amoga na hiougili gadoi.
[It was as though] he reached down from heaven and grabbed me and pulled me up out of the deep ocean.
17 Na ha lai dunu da gasa bagade. Ilia gasa da na gasa baligi dagoi. Ilia da na bagade higasa. Be ilia da nama doagala: lalu, Hina Gode da na gaga: i.
He rescued me from my strong enemies who hated me; they were very strong, with the result that I [could not defeat them].
18 Na da se nabaloba, ilia da na doagala: musa: misi, be amomane Hina Gode da na gaga: i.
When I (was distressed/had troubles), they attacked me, but Yahweh defended/protected me.
19 E da nama hahawaneba: le, na gaga: i.
He led me to a place where I was safe; he rescued me because he was pleased with me.
20 Na da wadela: i hou hame amola moloidafa hou fawane hamobeba: le, Hina Gode da na hahawane dogolegele fidisa amola nama bidi ida: iwane iaha.
Yahweh has rewarded me because I do what is right; he has blessed me because I (am innocent/have not done things that are wrong).
21 Na da Gode Ea hamoma: ne sia: i dedei amoma fa: no bobogesu amola Godema fa: no bobogei na da hame buhagi.
I have obeyed Yahweh’s laws; I have not abandoned him.
22 Na da Ea sema huluane nabawane hamosu amola Ea sia: nababeba: le hame nabasu hou hame hamosu.
My behavior was directed by his rules; I have not stopped obeying them.
23 Na da afuda: le hame hamoi amola moloi hou fawane hamonanu. Hina Gode da na hou dawa:
He knows that I have not done what is wrong; I have kept myself from sinning.
24 Amo na hou dawa: beba: le, E da nama bidi ida: iwane iaha.
So he rewards me because I do what is right; he knows that I [SYN] have not committed sins.
25 Hina Gode! Nowa dunu da Dima mae fisili, Dia hou dafawaneyale dawa: iwane hamonanea, Di da amo dunu amola hamedafa yolesimu. Di da nowa dunu moloidafa ba: sea, amo dunu hahawane fidisa.
Yahweh, you are faithful to those who faithfully [do what you tell them to do]; you always do what is good/right to those who do what you want them to do.
26 Di da ledo hamedei fofoloi dunu ilima fofoloi ba: sa. Be wadela: i hamosu dunu Di higasa.
You are kind to those who are kind to others, but you act wisely toward those who (act perversely/do bad things).
27 Nowa dunu amo ea hou hi fonobosea, Di da amo dunu gaga: sa. Be nowa da ilila: hou gaguia gadobe, amo Di da banenesisa.
You save those who are humble, but you cause those who are proud to be humiliated/ashamed.
28 Hina Gode! Di da nama hadigi iaha. Amola gasimigi Dia fadegale fasisa.
You give light to my [soul/spirit]; you take away the darkness of my soul.
29 Di da nama gasa amo nama ha lai dunuma doagala: musa: defele gala, amo iaha. Amola gasa amo ha lai dunu ilia gagoi amo mugulumusa: defele gala, Dia da nama iaha.
You enable me to be strong, with the result that I can run and attack a line of enemy soldiers; with your help I can (scale/climb up) the walls [that surround my enemies’ cities].
30 Gode Ea hou da noga: idafa amola moloidafa. Ea adi hamomusa: sia: sea, E da hamosa. Nowa dunu Ema masea, E da gaga: su liligi defele amo dunu ea ha lai dunuma gaga: sa.
Everything that Yahweh my God does is perfect. We can depend on him to do what he promises. He is like a shield [MET] to protect all those who go to him for refuge.
31 Hina Gode Hi fawane da Godedafa. Hi fawane da nini gaga: su dunu.
Yahweh is [RHQ] the only one who is God; only he is like an [overhanging] rock [under which we can be safe].
32 Gode Hi fawane da nama gasa iaha amola na da logoba: le ahoasea, E da na noga: le ouligisa.
God is the one who enables me to be strong and who keeps me safe on the roads that I walk on.
33 E da na goumiba: le noga: le heda: ma: ne, na emo amo “dia” ohe ea emo defele hamosa. Amola na da goumiga ahoasea, E da na mae dafama: ne noga: le ouligisa.
He enables me to [walk swiftly without stumbling], like a deer walks/runs in the mountains.
34 E da gegesu hou nama olelesa. Na da gasa bagade oulali amoga gegemusa: , E da nama gasa iaha.
He teaches me how to use a strong/metal bow in order that I can use it to fight in battles.
35 Hina Gode! Di da na gaga: lala. Dia ouligisu hou da na fidibiba: le, eno dunu da nama nodosa. Dia gasa fawane da na gaga: i dagoi.
Yahweh, you protect and save me with your shield; you have made me safe by your power [MTY]. I have become (strong/a great [king]) because you have helped me.
36 Dia fidibiba: le, na da na ha lai amoga hame gagulaligi ba: i. Na da hamedafa dafai.
You have cleared the road for me, with the result that now I do not slip/stumble.
37 Na da na ha lai dunu sefasili, gagulaligisa. Amasea, gegesu mae fisili, ilia da wadela: lesi dagoi ba: sea fawane yolesisa.
I have pursued my enemies and caught them; I did not stop until I had defeated/killed them all.
38 Na da ili fane legesea, ilia da bu wa: legadomu gogolesa. Ilia da na emo gadenene dafasea, hasali dagoi ba: sa.
When I strike them, they are not able to get up again; they lie on the ground, defeated.
39 Di fawane da na gegema: ne nimi iaha amola na ha lai dunuma hasalasima: ne gasa iaha.
You have enabled me to be strong in order that I can fight battles and defeat my enemies.
40 Dia hamobeba: le, na ha lai da naba: le hobeasa. Nowa da nama higasa, na da wadela: lesisa.
You caused my enemies to run away (OR, you enabled me to put my foot on my enemies’ necks [after I captured them and forced them to lie on the ground]); I have gotten rid of all those who hated me.
41 Ilia da fidima: ne diginiwane wele sia: sa. Be gaga: su dunu hame ba: sa. Ilia da Hina Godema wele sia: sa, be E da hame alofesa.
They called out for someone to help them, but no one saved them.
42 Na da ili gagoudane amola ilia gulu dou agoane hamone da fo misini doga: le fasisa, amo defele ilia da fafu logoga dialebe agoane ba: sa amola na da ilima ososa: gisa.
I pulverize them, with the result that they become like [MET] the dust that the wind [blows away]; I throw them out like [SIM] [people throw] dirt out into the streets.
43 Hame nabasu dunu da nama hasalasimusa: dawa: i. Be Di da na gaga: i. Di da na fifi asi gala ilima hina bagade hamoi. Amola dunu fi na da musa: hame dawa: i, amo da na ouligimusa: , nama misi dagoi.
You enabled me to defeat those who fought against me, and appointed me to be the ruler of [many]; people whom I did not know about previously are now slaves [in my kingdom].
44 Ga soge fi dunu da nama beguduli, na sia: nabawane fa: no bobogesa.
When foreigners hear about me, they (cringe/bow low before me) and they obey me.
45 Ilia da beda: ga ilia gasa bagade gagoi amo fisili, yaguguiwane gadili maha.
They are no longer courageous, and from their forts [where they were hiding] they come [to me] trembling.
46 Hina Gode da esala. Na Gaga: su dunuma nodoma! Na Gaga: su Gode amo Ea gasa bagade hou amo dunu huluanema olelema.
Yahweh is alive! Praise the one who is like an [overhanging] rock [MET] [under which I am safe] Exalt the God who saves me!
47 Ea da na ha lai ilima hasalasimusa: nama gasa iaha. Na da dunu fi ilima hasalasimusa: , E da amo dunu fi banenesisa.
He enables me to get revenge on my enemies; he causes me to defeat nations and to rule over them,
48 E da na gaga: sa. Hina Gode! Na da nama ha lai ilima hasalasimusa: Dia hamosa. Amola nimi bagade dunu nama mae doagala: ma: ne, Dia da na gaga: sa.
and he rescues me from my enemies. He has lifted me up high so that violent men could not reach me [and harm me].
49 Amaiba: le, na da dunu fifi asi gala amo ganodini Dima nodosa. Na da Dima nodone gesami hea: sa.
So I praise him [and I tell] the nations [the great things that he has done].
50 Gode da Ea hina bagade ilegei ema hasalasisu hou bagade iaha. E da dunu amo E da ilegei ema Ea asigidafa hou olelesa. E da Da: ibidi amola egaga fi ilima Ea asigidafa hou mae fisili eso huluane olelelalumu.
He has enabled me, his king, to powerfully defeat my enemies; he faithfully loves me, David, the one he has chosen [to be king], and he will faithfully love my descendants forever.
