1 Nabima! Bagade Dawa: su Hou ida: iwane da dima wele sia: nana. Asigi dawa: su hou da sia: daha.
It is as if wisdom, with great understanding [of many things], is calling [PRS] out [to people].
2 Bagade Dawa: su Hou da goumi da: iya amola logo bega: logo bulufalegeiga lela.
Wisdom stands on hilltops and at crossroads.
3 Amola moilai bai bagade sogebi amola logo holei gadenene e da lela agoane wele sia: nana,
[Wisdom also stands] at the city gates and shouts loudly,
4 “Na dilima sia: sa! Dunu fifi asi gala! Na da wele sia: nana! Osobo bagade fi huluane dilima.
“I am calling to everyone! I am shouting loudly to all people!
5 Nowa dunu asigi dawa: su hame galea, asigi dawa: su ida: iwane gala amo lama, amola asigi dawa: su noga: le dawa: ma. Di da gagaoui esalabala: ? Asigi dawa: su ida: iwane lama.
You people who do not know how to do things that are smart to do, get sound judgment; you foolish people, get good understanding!
6 Nabima! Na sia: amo da ida: iwane gala. Na sia: su da moloidafa fawane.
Listen to me, because I have some excellent/important things to say. What I say is what is fair/right.
7 Na adi sia: be amo da dafawanedafa. Na da ogogosu bagade higasa.
I speak what is true; I detest speaking [MTY] what is false/deceptive.
8 Liligi na sia: be amo da dafawane. Afae da ogogole hame sia: sa amola giadofale hame ahoa.
Everything that I say is honest; there is nothing that I say that deceives [people].
9 Amola dunu ea dogo ganodini, hadigi amola asigi dawa: su gala, amo dunu da na sia: noga: le ba: sa.
My words are clear to those who have good sense; those who are wise know that what I say is right.
10 Silifa liligi amoma mae dawa: ma. Be na olelebe liligi amo dawa: ma. Amola noga: idafa gouli mae dawa: ma. Be na sia: ida: iwane, amoma dawa: ma.
[If someone offers you the kind of teaching I give] or offers you silver, choose my teaching. [If he offers to show you how to be wise] or offers you gold, choose to know how to be wise,
11 Na da Bagade Dawa: su Hou. Na da ida: iwanedafa amola na da igi su bagadega lasu liligi baligi dagoi, amola dia hanasu liligi baligi dagoi.
because wisdom is more valuable than jewels. Nothing that you desire [is as valuable] as being wise.
12 Na da Bagade Dawa: su Hou. Na da asigi dawa: su hou amola moloidafa fofada: su hou dawa:
I, wisdom, and understanding of what is smart to do, cannot be separated. We are like two people who live in the same house. I know how to be wise and how to make smart decisions.
13 Nowa da Hina Godema nodone dawa: be da wadela: i hou amola ledo huluane higasa. Na da amoma higasa amola nowa da hifawane hina: dio gaguia gadosea amola wadela: i hou amola ogogosu hamonanebe, amo huluane na higasa.
[All the people] who revere Yahweh hate evil. I, wisdom, hate [people who are] proud and [people] who think they are more important [than others]. I hate [people who] behave in an evil way and those who say things to deceive [others].
14 Na da adi hamomusa: ilegesea na da didili hamomu. Na da asigi dawa: su gala amola na da gasa bagade gala.
I give [people] good advice and I enable them to do things that are wise. I understand how things really are, and I am strong.
15 Na da hina bagade dunu fidisa amola ouligisu dunu noga: le ouligima: ne fidisa.
When kings are wise, they rule [well]; and when rulers are wise, they make laws that are just/fair.
16 Osobo bagade ouligisu dunu huluanedafa da na fidibiba: le, ouligisu hou hamosa.
Rulers govern their people with the help of me, wisdom, and those who have authority decide things fairly/just with my help.
17 Na da nowa dunu da nama asigisia, ilima asigisa. Amola nowa da na hogosea e da ba: mu.
I, [wisdom], love [all] those who love me, and [all] those who truly seek me [will] find me.
18 Na da liligi bagade amola mimogo hou amola didili hamosu hou amo osobo bagadega esalebe dunu ilima imunusa: dawa:
I enable [people] to become rich and to be honored; [I enable them to have] wealth that will last and to be successful.
19 Adi liligi dia nama lasea amo da liligi ida: iwane. Amo da gouli liligi amola silifa liligi baligi dagoi.
What I can give people is more valuable than fine/pure gold and the best silver.
20 Amola eso huluane na da moloi hou amo ganodini ahoana. Na da moloidafa fofada: su hamonana.
I always do what is righteous and just/fair.
21 Na da nowa dunu da nama asigi galea, ilima liligi bagade iaha. Na da gobolo liligi noga: idafa amoga ilia diasu nabalesisa.
I give wealth to those who love me; I fill their houses with valuable things.
22 Musa: hemonega, Hina Gode da osobo bagade mae hamone, E da na hidadea hahamoi, amalalu liligi huluane da hahamoi.
Yahweh created me, [wisdom], when he began [to create the world]; he created me [to do my work] before he created anything else.
23 Hina Gode da na bisili musa: dafa hahamoi, amalalu osobo bagade hahamoi.
He appointed me long ago, before he created the earth.
24 Na da hidadea lalelegei amola hano wayabo amola hano bubuga: su da fa: no hahamoi.
I was born before the oceans were [created], when there were no springs from which water flowed.
25 Amola Hina Gode da na hidadea hahamoi amalalu goumi amola agolo da fa: no hahamoi.
I was born before the hills and mountains were formed;
26 Gode da osobo bagade amola osobo su hahamoi. Be na (Bagade Dawa: su Hou) da amo bisili esalu.
[I, wisdom], was born before Yahweh made the earth, before he made the fields and the soil on the earth.
27 Gode da mu amo gadodili ligisia amola hano wayabo bagade amola mu mae gilisima: ne alalo hamonoba, na da amogai esalebe ba: i.
I was there when Yahweh put the sky in place, when he marked the place [in the distance] where the sky and the oceans [seem to] come together.
28 Amola e da mu mobi hahamoi mu da: iya gado amola e da hano wayabo bagade amola hahamonoba, na da esalebe ba: i.
I was there when Yahweh put the clouds above [the earth] and when he caused the water that is inside the earth to be secure.
29 Amola E Hi sia: defele hano wayabo da heda: i amola hano wayabo da Hi sia: i defele osoboba: le hame heda: i, amola E da osobo bagade gagumusa: osobo bagade ea bai hidadea ilegeloba, na da esalebe ba: i.
I was there when he fixed a boundary for the seas, so that the water in the seas would not go past those boundaries, and when he put down the foundations which support the earth.
30 Amo esoga na amola da Hina Gode guga esalu. Na da fedege agoane, diasu gagumusa: dedesu dunu agoai E guga esalu. Na da esalebeba: le, E da hahawane galu amola na da Ema nodonanu.
I was at the side of Yahweh, the master worker (OR, as though I was his child). I caused him to be happy every day, and I was always rejoicing when I was with him.
31 Amola na da osobo bagade amoma hahawane ba: i amola fifi asi gala huluane ilima hahawane bagade galu.
I was delighted with the world that he created; I was happy with the people whom he created, too.
32 Wali goi ayeligi dilia! Noga: le nabima! Amola na sia: be defele hamoma amasea di da hahawane ganumu.
So, [you people who are like] my sons, listen to me. [I am] pleased with [all] those who obey my teachings.
33 Nabima! Dilia na olelei defele hamoma. Amola dilia na olelei liligi amoma mae higama, amasea di da hahawane esalumu.
Listen [carefully] to what I teach you and become wise. Do not reject my teaching!
34 Nowa dunu da na bagade dawa: su sia: nabasea, e da hahawanedafa ba: mu. Nowa da eso huluane na logo holeiga bagade dawa: su lama: ne lelea, da hahawane ba: mu.
[I am] pleased with those who listen to me, those who are outside my house every day, waiting [for me to come out].
35 Nowa dunu da na hogole ba: sea, da esalusu ba: mu amola Hina Gode da amo dunu hahawane dogolegele ba: mu.
Those who find me will have [a long] life, and Yahweh [will] be pleased with them.
36 Be nowa dunu da nama hame masea, e da hisu wadela: sa. Nowa dunu da nama higasea, e da bogosu ba: mu!” Bagade Dawa: su Hou da fedege sia: agoane sia: sa.
But those who stray away from me [just] harm themselves. All those who hate me, [it is as though] [IRO] they are loving death.”
