1 Nowa da adini bagade nasea, e da feloale gegesu hou amola wadela: le sia: su hou bagade hamosa. Nowa dunu e adini bagadewane ba: sea, ea hou da gagaoui dunu agoai gala.
Wine is a mocker, and beer is a brawler. Whoever is led astray by them is not wise.
2 Di da laione wa: me amo da gegesenebe ema beda: i amo defele ougi bagade hina bagadema beda: mu da defea. Di da hina bagade ougima: ne hamosea, amo hou da di gobele fane legesu hou defele.
The terror of a king is like the roaring of a lion. He who provokes him to anger forfeits his own life.
3 Gagaoui dunu huluane da sia: ga gegesu hou musu dawa: Be sia: ga gegesu amo yolesimu da hou noga: idafa.
It is an honor for a person to keep away from strife, but every fool quarrels.

Who can say, "I have made my heart pure. I am clean and without sin?"
10 Hina Gode da nowa dunu da dioi ba: su amola defei ba: su liligi amo ogogole hamosea, ilima higa: i hodosa.
Differing weights and differing measures, both of them alike are an abomination to Jehovah.

Even a child makes himself known by his doings, whether his work is pure, and whether it is right.
12 Hina Gode e da ninima si amoga nini da ba: ma: ne amola ge amoga nini da nabima: ne, amo ninima i dagoi.
The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, Jehovah has made even both of them.

Do not love sleep, lest you come to poverty. Open your eyes, and you shall be satisfied with bread.

Plans are established by advice; by wise guidance you wage war.
19 Baligiduli sia: su dunu da sia: wamolegemu hame dawa: Sia: bagade sia: dabe dunu ilima mae gilisima.
He who goes about as a tale-bearer reveals secrets; therefore do not keep company with him who opens wide his lips.
20 Dia ada amola ame ela aligima: ne gagabusia, di da gamali amo da gasia ea digagala: i haba: dosu defele bogomu.
Whoever curses his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in blackness of darkness.

An inheritance quickly gained at the beginning, won't be blessed in the end.
22 Dunu da dima wadela: le hamosea, dia disu dabe mae ima. Di Hina Godema dafawaneyale dawa: sea, Hi fawane da amo hou hahamomu.
Do not say, "I will pay back evil." Wait for Jehovah, and he will save you.
23 Hina Gode da nowa dunu da dioi ba: su amola defei ba: su liligi amo ogogole hamosea, ilima higa: i hodosa.
Jehovah detests differing weights, and dishonest scales are no good.
24 Nowa dunu da hina: esalusu logo ahoabe dawa: bela: ? E da hame dawa: Be Hina Gode Hifawane da ninia esalusu logo huluane ilegei dagoi.
A man's steps are from Jehovah; how then can man understand his way?

It is a snare to a man to make a rash dedication, then later to consider his vows.

A wise king winnows out the wicked, and drives the threshing wheel over them.
