1 Isala: ili dunu da Misiba moilaiga musa: gilisiliba, ilia da Hina Gode ba: ma: ne, gasa bagade sema hamosu, amane, “Ninia uda mano amo Bediamini dunu da hamedafa lamu.”
Now the men of Israel had sworn in Mizpeh, saying, There shall not any of us give his daughter to Benjamin for a wife.
2 Amalalu, ilia da Bedele moilaiga asili, amola Gode ba: ma: ne eso amo ganodini fili, asili daeya ha: giwane didiga: lalu.
And the people came to the house of God, and abode there till evening before God, and lifted up their voices, and wept bitterly;
3 Ilia amane disu, “Isala: ili Hina Gode! Amo hou da abuliba: le doaga: bela: ? Abuliba: le Bediamini fi da Isala: ili sogega gadenenewane fisi dagoi ba: sala: ?”
And said, O LORD God of Israel, why is this come to pass in Israel, that there should be to-day one tribe lacking in Israel?
4 Golale, hahabedafa ilia da gilisili Hahawane Gilisili Olofole gobele salasu amola ohe hodo amo oloda, ilia hamoi, amo da: iya gogo gobele sali.
And it came to pass on the morrow, that the people rose early, and built there an altar, and offered burnt-offerings, and peace-offerings.
5 Ilia da amane adole ba: i, “Isala: ili fi amo ganodini, sosogo fi afae da Misiba sogega Godema gilisisu amoga hame misibala: ?” (Ilia da musa: gasa bagade sema hamosu. Amo nowa fi da Misiba moilai gilisisu amoga hame misi ganiaba, ilia da amo dunu ili medole legela: loba.)
And the children of Israel said, Who [is there] among all the tribes of Israel that came not up with the congregation to the LORD? For they had made a great oath concerning him that came not up to the LORD to Mizpeh, saying, He shall surely be put to death.
6 Isala: ili dunu da bu ilia olalali Bediamini dunu ilima asigi galu. Ilia da amane sia: i, “Wali eso, Isala: ili fi afadafa da fisi dagoi.
And the children of Israel repented for Benjamin their brother, and said, There is one tribe cut off from Israel this day.
7 Ninia da Bediamini dunu esala, amoga uda ima: ne adi hamoma: bela: ? Bai ninia Hina Godema sema bagade hamoi dagoi, amo ninia uda mano ilima hamedafa imunu.”
How shall we do for wives for them that remain, seeing we have sworn by the LORD, that we will not give them of our daughters for wives?
8 Ilia da nowa gilisisu da Misiba gilisisuga hame misi, amo adole ba: loba, dunu da Ya: ibese moilai Gilia: de soge ganodini esalu, amo da hame misi ilia da nabi.
And they said, What one [is there] of the tribes of Israel that came not up to Mizpeh to the LORD? and behold, there came none to the camp from Jabesh-gilead to the assembly.
9 Amola ilia da dadi gagui gilisima: ne dio wele sia: noba, Ya: ibese dunu da hame misi.
For the people were numbered, and behold, [there were] none of the inhabitants of Jabesh-gilead there.
10 Amaiba: le, ilia da 1,200 gasa bagade dunu amo Ya: ibese moilaiga asunasi. Ilia da ilima amane sia: i, “Ya: ibese dunu huluane, uda amola mano medole legema.
And the congregation sent thither twelve thousand men of the most valiant, and commanded them, saying, Go and smite the inhabitants of Jabesh-gilead with the edge of the sword, with the women and the children.
11 Dunu huluane, dunu mano amola uda huluane amo da dunuma fi, amo huluane medole legema.”
And this [is] the thing that ye shall do, Ye shall utterly destroy every male, and every woman that hath lain by man.
12 Ya: ibese moilai ganodini, ilia da a: fini amola uda mano amo da dunuma hame gilisili golai, 400 agoane ba: i. Ilia da amo Siailou abula moilai Ga: ina: ne soge ganodini, amoga oule misi.
And they found among the inhabitants of Jabesh-gilead four hundred young virgins that had known no man by lying with any male: and they brought them to the camp to Shiloh, which [is] in the land of Canaan.
13 Amalalu, Isala: ili gilisisu da Bediamini dunu amo da Limone Gelega esalu, ilima sia: adole iasi. Ilia da gegesu fisili, olofole gousa: su hamoma: ne sia: i.
And the whole congregation sent [some] to speak to the children of Benjamin that [were] in the rock Rimmon, and to call peaceably to them.
14 Bediamini dunu da bu misini, Isala: ili fi eno da Ya: ibese uda mano ilia hame medole legei amo ilima i. Be ilima iabe idi da defele hame ba: i.
And Benjamin came again at that time; and they gave them wives which they had saved alive of the women of Jabesh-gilead: and yet so they sufficed them not.
15 Hina Gode da Isala: ili fi ilia habelegele fi afadafa, amo da afafai dagoiba: le, ilia da Bediamini dunuma asigi galu.
And the people repented for Benjamin, because the LORD had made a breach in the tribes of Israel.
16 Amaiba: le, ilia ouligisu dunu da amane sia: i, “Uda eno da Bediamini fi ganodini hame esala. Ninia da habodane ilia uda lamusa: ilima ima: bela: ?
Then the elders of the congregation said, How shall we do for wives for them that remain, seeing the women are destroyed out of Benjamin?
17 Isala: ili da fi fagoyale gala. Afadafa fisimu da hamedei. Bediamini fi esaloma: ne, ninia logo hogoi helemu da defea.
And they said, [There must be] an inheritance for them that have escaped of Benjamin, that a tribe be not destroyed out of Israel.
18 Be ilia da ninia uda mano lamu da hamedei. Bai ninia da sema bagade hamoi. Nowa da ea uda mano Bediamini dunuma iasea, ninia da ema gagabusu aligima: ne ilegei dagoi.”
But, we may not give them wives of our daughters: for the children of Israel have sworn, saying, Cursed [be] he that giveth a wife to Benjamin.
19 Amalalu, ilia da agoane dawa: i, “Hina Gode Ea Lolo Nasu Siailou moilaiga da gadenesa galebe.” (Siailou da Bedelehemega gagoe (north) gala. E da Lebouna amoga gagoe (south) amola logo amo da Bedele fisili Siegeme doaga: sa amo ea eso mabe la: idiga gala.)
Then they said, Behold, [there is] a feast of the LORD in Shiloh yearly [in a place] which [is] on the north side of Beth-el, on the east side of the highway that goeth up from Beth-el to Shechem, and on the south of Lebonah.
20 Ilia da Bediamini dunuma amane sia: i, “Dilia waini efe sogebi amo ganodini wamoaligili, ouesaloma.
Therefore they commanded the children of Benjamin, saying, Go, and lie in wait in the vineyards;
21 Siailou a: fini ilia da lolo nasu ganodini gosa: musa: masea, dilia waini efe aligisu fisili, dilia afae afae uda lamusa: ha: giwane gagulaligima. Amola amo uda dilia Bediamini sogega bu oule masa.
And see, and behold, if the daughters of Shiloh come out to dance in dances, then come ye out of the vineyards, and catch you every man his wife of the daughters of Shiloh, and go to the land of Benjamin.
22 Be ilia eda o olalali da dilima sia: ga gegemusa: masea, ilima amane sia: ma, ‘Ninia da amo a: fini ili lamu da defeala: ? Bai ninia da gegesu ganodini amo a: fini hame lai. Amola dilia da amo uda mano ninima udigili hame iba: le, dilia sema hamoi amo hame wadela: lesiba: le, gagabusu aligima: ne dilima hame dialumu.’”
And it shall be, when their fathers or their brethren come to us to complain, that we will say to them, Be favorable to them for our sakes: because we reserved not to each man his wife in the war: for ye did not give to them at this time, [that] ye should be guilty.
23 Bediamini dunu da ilia sia: i defele hamoi. Ilia da afae afae Siailou a: fini amo da siogolalu amo lale, gisawane asi. Ilia da ilia sogega asili, ilia moilai bu gaguli, fi galu.
And the children of Benjamin did so, and took [them] wives, according to their number, of them that danced, whom they caught: and they went and returned to their inheritance, and repaired the cities and dwelt in them.
24 Amola Isala: ili fi dunu eno da fisili asili, ilia fi amola sosogo fi da ilia sogedafa amoga buhagi.
And the children of Israel departed thence at that time, every man to his tribe and to his family, and they went from thence every man to his inheritance.
25 Amo esoha, Isala: ili soge ganodini da hina bagade dunu hame esalu. Dunu huluane da afae afae hi hanaiga fawane hamosu. Sia: Ama Dagoi
In those days [there was] no king in Israel: every man did [that which was] right in his own eyes.
