Yosiua 23
1 Fa: nodafa, Isala: ili dunu da ilima ha lai dunu huluane hasali dagoloba, Hina Gode da ilima olofosu helefisu i. Amo esoha, Yosiua da da: idafa hamoi dagoi.
And it came to pass a long time after that YHWH had given rest unto Israel from all their enemies round about, that Joshua waxed old [and] stricken in age. (stricken...: Heb. come into days)
2 Amaiba: le, e da Isala: ili dunu huluane, asigilai, ouligisu dunu amola fofada: su dunu amo huluane gilisili, ilima amane sia: i, “Na da wali da: idafa hamoi dagoi.
And Joshua called for all Israel, [and] for their elders, and for their heads, and for their judges, and for their officers, and said unto them, I am old [and] stricken in age:
3 Dilia Hina Gode da dili fidima: ne, dilima ha lai dunuma hamoi, amo dilia da ba: i dagoi. Hina Gode, Hi fawane da dili fidima: ne, dilimagale gegenanu.
And ye have seen all that YHWH your Elohim hath done unto all these nations because of you; for YHWH your Elohim [is] he that hath fought for you.
4 Na da dilia gaguma: ne, soge huluane ninia dunu fi da doagala: le lai (soge da eso mabadi la: idi Yodane Hano alalo asili eso dabe la: idi da Medidela: inia Hano Wayabo Bagade) amo dilima ilegei dagoi. Amola dunu fi ninia wali hame hasali, amo ilia soge dili gaguma: ne, na da ilegei dagoi.
Behold, I have divided unto you by lot these nations that remain, to be an inheritance for your tribes, from Jordan, with all the nations that I have cut off, even unto the great sea westward. (westward: Heb. at the sunset)
5 Dilia da amo dunuma gegemusa: ahoasea, dilia Hina Gode da amo dunu sefasimu. Dilia Hina Gode Ea ilegele sia: i defele, dilia da ilia soge lalegagumu.
And YHWH your Elohim, he shall expel them from before you, and drive them from out of your sight; and ye shall possess their land, as YHWH your Elohim hath promised unto you.
6 Amaiba: le, hamoma: ne sia: i huluane Mousese Sema Buga ganodini dedei amo nabawane hamoma. Afae mae fisima!
Be ye therefore very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, that ye turn not aside therefrom [to] the right hand or [to] the left;
7 Amasea, dilia da Ga: ina: ne soge dunu hame bogoi esala, ilima hame gilisimu. Dilia da ilia ogogosu ‘gode’ liligi ilia dio hame sia: mu amola ilegele sia: musa: dawa: sea, ilia dioba: le hame sia: mu amola amo ogogosu ‘gode’ liligi ilima hame sia: ne gadomu amola ilima hame begudumu.
That ye come not among these nations, these that remain among you; neither make mention of the name of their elohim, nor cause to swear [by them], neither serve them, nor bow yourselves unto them:
8 Be amo hou fisili, dilia da musa: amoganini wali hou defele, Hina Godema dafawaneyale dawa: le fa: no bobogema.
But cleave unto YHWH your Elohim, as ye have done unto this day. (But cleave...: or, For if ye will cleave, etc)
9 Hina Gode da dili hasalima: ne, gasa bagade dunu fi amo sefasi dagoi. Dunu afae da dilima bu gegemu hamedei ba: i.
For YHWH hath driven out from before you great nations and strong: but [as for] you, no man hath been able to stand before you unto this day. (For YHWH ...: or, Then YHWH will drive)
10 Dilia dunu afae da gegebeba: le, eno 1000 agoane da hobeasa. Bai Hina Gode Ea ilegele sia: i defele, dili fidima: ne gegenana.
One man of you shall chase a thousand: for YHWH your Elohim, he [it is] that fighteth for you, as he hath promised you.
11 Amaiba: le, dawa: ma! Dilia Hina Godema asigima!
Take good heed therefore unto yourselves, that ye love YHWH your Elohim. (yourselves: Heb. your souls)
12 Dilia da houdafa fisili, amola Ga: ina: ne fi dunu dilia gilisisu ganodini esala ilima gilisisia, amola ilia uda lasea,
Else if ye do in any wise go back, and cleave unto the remnant of these nations, [even] these that remain among you, and shall make marriages with them, and go in unto them, and they to you:
13 noga: le dawa: ma! Dilia Hina Gode da amo dunu sefasisu amo fisimu. Be amo dunu da dilima sani agoane amola fegasu efe amola aya: gaga: nomei dilia si wadela: musa: amola amoga dilia se bagade nabimu. Amasea, dilia da se nabalu, asili, dilia dunu afae amo soge noga: i dilia Hina Gode da dilima i, amo ganodini da hamedafa ba: mu.
Know for a certainty that YHWH your Elohim will no more drive out [any of] these nations from before you; but they shall be snares and traps unto you, and scourges in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until ye perish from off this good land which YHWH your Elohim hath given you.
14 Wali, na bogomu eso da doaga: i dagoi. Dilia huluane dilia dogo ganodini amola dilia asigi dawa: su ganodini dawa: Dilia Hina Gode da liligi ida: iwane dilima imunu ilegele sia: i, amo huluane dilima i dagoi. Ea sia: i liligi huluane E da hamoi dagoi. Ea ilegele sia: i liligi afae da hame fisi.
And, behold, this day I [am] going the way of all the earth: and ye know in all your hearts and in all your souls, that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which YHWH your Elohim spake concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, [and] not one thing hath failed thereof.
15 Be E da Ea ilegele sia: i liligi huluanedafa amo hamoi, amo defele Ea sisasu huluane E da hamomu.
Therefore it shall come to pass, [that] as all good things are come upon you, which YHWH your Elohim promised you; so shall YHWH bring upon you all evil things, until he have destroyed you from off this good land which YHWH your Elohim hath given you.
16 Dilia da gousa: su amo dilia Hina Gode da dili nabawane hamoma: ne sia: i, amo wadela: sea, amola dilia da eno ogogosu ‘gode’ liligi ilima sia: ne gadosea amola hawa: hamosea, Hina Gode da ougili dilima se imunu amola dilia dunu afae amo noga: i soge E da dilima i, amo ganodini esalebe hamedafa ba: mu.”
When ye have transgressed the covenant of YHWH your Elohim, which he commanded you, and have gone and served other elohim, and bowed yourselves to them; then shall the anger of YHWH be kindled against you, and ye shall perish quickly from off the good land which he hath given unto you.
