1 Eso afaega, Hina Bagade Gode da Youna, (Amidai ea mano) ema sia: i.
The worde of the Lord came also vnto Ionah the sonne of Amittai, saying,
2 E amane adoi, “Di Ninefe moilai bai bagade fi amoga asili, gasa gala ilima amane sisia: ma, ‘Na ba: loba da dili wadela: i hou bagohame hamosa’ ia adoma.”
Arise, and goe to Nineueh, that great citie, and crye against it: for their wickednesse is come vp before mee.
3 Be Youna da Hina Gode yolesili, Dasase moilai bai bagade fi amoga hobeale masunusa: dawa: i. Be amomane E da Yoba moilai amoga asi, amola E asili ba: loba, dusagai bagade amo da Dasase moilai bai bagade (Siba: ini soge ganodini) amoga ahoanebe ba: i. Amanoba, e da ea masunu muni ianu, dusagai hawa: hamosu dunu gilisili amoga fila heda: i. E da Gode yolesili hobeale masunusa: dawa: i
But Ionah rose vp to flee into Tarshish from the presence of the Lord, and went downe to Iapho: and he founde a ship going to Tarshish: so he payed the fare thereof, and went downe into it, that he might go with them vnto Tarshish, from the presence of the Lord.
4 Be Youna amola dunu oda ilia gilisili fila heda: le ahoanoba, Hina Gode Hi da isu amola fo amola gibu amo i, amola hano da bagade gafululi amola da dusagai amo gadenene agoane, gela sa: imu agoai ba: i.
But the Lord sent out a great winde into the sea, and there was a mightie tempest in the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken.
5 Amabeba: le, dusagaiga hawa: hamosu dunu ilia bagadewane beda: ne, ilia ‘gode’ liligi ilima fidima: ne sia: ne gadoi. Amola ilia liligi dusagai ganodini dialu amo huluane ladili hanoa ga galagai. Be ili amo hawa: hamonanoba da Youna e dusagai amo ganodini, sesei amo ganodini sima dialu.
Then the mariners were afraide, and cryed euery man vnto his God, and cast the wares that were in the ship, into the sea to lighten it of the: but Ionah was gone downe into the sides of the ship, and he lay downe, and was fast a sleepe.

Di waha wa: legadole di fidima: ne dia Godema sia: ne gadoma, amola da nini huluane hanoga gela sa: imu galebe. Na dawa: loba da dia Godema sia: ne gadosea, amola Ea ninima asigili fidima: bela: amola ninia da hame bogoma: bela: ?”
So the shipmaster came to him, and saide vnto him, What meanest thou, O sleeper? Arise, call vpon thy God, if so be that God wil thinke vpon vs, that we perish not.
7 Amalu dusagaiga hawa: hamosu dunu ilia gilisili sia: sa: i amola bai hogoi, “Nowa da bai mubala: le amola goe hou doaga: ma: ne amola ninia gadenenewane se nabimu galebe. Ninia amo hou dawa: ma: ne ganisano sagamu.” Hogole ba: loba Youna e da afuda: i ba: i, amola ea dio dialebe ba: i.
And they saide euery one to his fellowe, Come, and let vs cast lottes, that we may know, for whose cause this euill is vpon vs. So they cast lottes, and the lot fell vpon Ionah.

Then said they vnto him, Tell vs for whose cause this euill is vpon vs? what is thine occupation? and whence commest thou? which is thy countrey? and of what people art thou?
9 Amola Youna amane adole i, “Na da Hibulu sosogo fi amoga, amola na da Hina Gode Bagade Hebene ganodini esalebe, amoma fa: no bobogesa amola Ema sia: ne gadosa. E da osobo bagade amola hano huluane hamoi.”
And he answered them, I am an Ebrewe, and I feare the Lord God of heauen, which hath made the sea, and the dry lande.
10 Amola Youna e da dusagaiga hawa: hamosu ilima amane adole i, “Na da Hina Bagade Ema hobeale ahoa.” Be amo sia: nababeba: le, dusagaiga hawa: hamosu ilia bagadewane fofogadigili amola bagade beda: gia: i, amola ilia da ema amane sia: i, “Amo hou dia da abuliba: le hamobela: ? (E da Godema hobeale asi ilima adoiba: le, ilia da amo hou dawa: i dagoi).
Then were the men exceedingly afrayde, and said vnto him, Why hast thou done this? (for the men knewe, that he fled from the presence of the Lord, because he had tolde them)
11 Be fo amola isu da mae yolelewane, bagade manu, amabeba: le ilia ema adole ba: i. “Adi hamonanea da fo amola isu amola yolema: bela: ?”
Then saide they vnto him, What shall we doe vnto thee, that the sea may be calme vnto vs? (for the sea wrought and was troublous)
12 Youna da amane sia: i, “Dilia da na hanoga ha: digisia, da fo amola isu amola da yolemu. Na dawa: , amo da na baiga agoane hamosa.”
And he said vnto them, Take me, and cast me into the sea: so shall the sea be calme vnto you: for I knowe that for my sake this great tempest is vpon you.
13 Be amomane dusagaiga hawa: hamosu dunu ilia da gasa fili, hano bega: ganodini doaga: musa: ha: giwane sua: lala asi, be amomane ahoa ba: loba hamedeidafa ba: i. Be fo amola isu da bu bagade misi.
Neuerthelesse, the men rowed to bring it to the lande, but they coulde not: for the sea wrought, and was troublous against them.
14 Amabeba: le, ili da Godema gasa gala bagadewane sia: ne gadoi, ili fidima: ne, amola ilia amane sia: i, “Hina Gode! Nini bagade beda: i galebe. Be ninia goe dunu ha: digisia, Dia nini mae se nabasima amola mae medole legema. Hina Gode! Di fawane da Dia hanaiga hamoi.
Wherefore they cryed vnto the Lord, and said, We beseech thee, O Lord, we beseech thee, let vs not perish for this mans life, and lay not vpon vs innocent blood: for thou, O Lord, hast done, as it pleased thee.
15 Amanoba, ilia Youna ouga: ne hanoa galagai, be amane hamobeba: le, fo amola isu amola hano gafului huluane fisi dagoi.
So they tooke vp Ionah, and cast him into the sea, and the sea ceased from her raging.
16 Amo hou ba: beba: le, ilia amola da Hina Godema beda: ne amola nodone gobele salasu hou amola, Ema dafawane fa: no bobogemu sia: i.
Then the men feared the Lord exceedingly, and offered a sacrifice vnto the Lord, and made vowes.
17 Be Hina Gode da hamoma: ne sia: beba: le, menabo bagade afae amo da Youna e da: gi, amola Youna da menabo ea hagomo ganodini esaloba, eso udiana amola gasi udiana amola ha: digi.
Nowe the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallowe vp Ionah: and Ionah was in the belly of the fish three dayes, and three nightes.
