Hosia 4
1 Hina Gode da Ea fi dunu Isala: ili soge ganodini esala, ilima diwaneya udidisa. Isala: ili fi! Ea sia: nabima! E da amane sia: sa, “Noga: i fa: no bobogesu hou amola asigi hou da Isala: ili soge ganodini hamedafa gala. Amola Na fi dunu da Na da Godedafa hame sia: sa.
You Israeli people, listen to this message from Yahweh! He is accusing you people who live in this country, [saying] “The people are not faithfully [doing what pleases me], they are not kind [to others], and they do not [even] know me!
2 Ilia da sia: dafawane ilegei amo giadofasa. Ilia da ogogosa amola fane legesa amola wamolasa amola inia uda adole laha. Wadela: i hou da bagade heda: sa amola ilia da fane legesu hou mae fisili hamonana.
Everywhere in this land they curse [others], they murder [others], they steal, and they commit adultery. They act violently toward others and commit one murder after another.
3 Amaiba: le, ilia soge da hafoga: i hamoi dagoi ba: mu amola liligi huluane amogawi esalebe da bogogia: i dagoi ba: mu. Ohe huluane amola sio amola menabo huluanedafa da bogogia: i dagoi ba: mu.”
It is because of their doing those things that there is no rain [MTY], the land has become dry, the people are mourning, and the people are dying [from hunger]. Even the wild animals and the birds and the fish in the sea are dying.
4 Hina Gode da amane sia: sa, “Isala: ili dunudafa ilima mae diwaneya udidima amola gagabole mae sia: ma: ma! Na da dili gobele salasu dunu dilima fawane egane sia: sa.
But no one should accuse someone else and say it is his fault. It is you priests whom I am accusing.
5 Esohaga amola gasia dilia da udigili gagaoui agoane hawa: hamonana amola balofede dunu da dili defele hamosa. Na da dilia ame Isala: ili amo wadela: lesimu.
So I will punish [MTY] you priests, night and day, and I will punish the prophets with you. I am going to destroy [Israel, the nation that is like] [MET] a mother to you.
6 Na fi dunu da Nama Na da Godedafa hame sia: beba: le, ilia da wadela: lesi dagoi ba: mu. Dilia gobele salasu dunu da Nama Na da Godedafa hame sia: sa amola Na olelesu hame naba. Amaiba: le, Na da dilia gofelalia Nama gobele salasu hamoma: ne hame ilegemu.
It is because my people do not know [about me] that they will be destroyed. And their not knowing about me is because you priests have refused [to teach them about me]; so I will no longer allow you to be my priests. You have forgotten the things that I taught you, so I will forget [to bless] your children.
7 Dilia gobele salasu dunu idi da heda: sea, dilia Nama wadela: i hou hamobe da amo defele heda: sa. Amaiba: le, Na da wali dunu da dilima nodosu hou hamosa amo afadenene, ilia dilima higamu, amola dilia da gogosiamu.
As there are more and more priests, they have sinned against me more and more. So I will no longer allow them to be honored; instead, I will cause them to be disgraced.
8 Na fi dunu da wadela: le hamobeba: le, dilia da bagade gaguiwane ba: sa. Amaiba: le, dilia da ili baligiliwane wadela: i hou hamoma: ne, dilia da hanai.
The priests get food from [the offerings that the] people [bring in order to be forgiven for having sinned], [so] the priests want the people to sin more and more [in order that the people will bring them more and more offerings].
9 Dilia da Isala: ili dunu ilia se nabasu defele lamu. Na da dilima se imunu. Amola dilia wadela: i hou hamobeba: le, dilima dabemu.
The priests [are as sinful] as the [other] people, and I will punish [all of] them for what they have done; I will pay them back for the [evil] things that they have done.
10 Dilia da gobele salasu amoga dilia la: idi amo nanu, bu ha: i ba: mu. Dilia da mano lasu ‘gode’ ilima nodone sia: ne gadomu, be dilia da mano hame lamu. Bai dilia da Nama baligi fa: le, eno ogogosu ‘gode’ ilima fa: no bobogelala.”
[The priests] will eat, but they will still be hungry; they will have sex with prostitutes, but they will not have any children, because they have abandoned [me], Yahweh,
11 Hina Gode da amane sia: sa, “Na fi dunu da waini hano yaolo amola gaheabolo bagade nabeba: le, gagaoui agoane hamosa.
and they are devoting themselves to sleeping with prostitutes, and to [drinking] old wine and new wine, which results in their not being able to think clearly.”
12 Ilia da udigili ifa amoga hobea misunu hou adole ba: sa. Ifa da ilia dawa: mu hanai liligi ilima adole iaha. Ilia da Na yolesi dagoi. Uda amo da hina: da: i bidi lasu defele, ilila: da: i ilia da ogogosu ‘gode’ ilima i dagoi.
“[You] my people request wooden idols [to tell you what you should do]! Like prostitutes who have left/abandoned their husbands,
13 Ilia goumi da: iya sema sogebi amoga gobele salasu hou hamonana amola agolo da: iya ifa sedade amomodai haguduga gabusiga: manoma gobesisa. Bai amo ifa ilia ougiha: i da hisi noga: idafa. Amo hamobeba: le, didiwilali da hina: da: i bidi lasu uda agoane hawa: hamonana, amola dilia nawi ilia da inia dunu adole lasu hou hamosa.
you have abandoned [me] your God, and you are chasing after [other gods] on the tops of hills and mountains; you burn incense under oak [trees], poplar [trees], and other trees where there is nice/pleasing shade. So your daughters have become prostitutes, and your daughters-in-law have committed adultery.
14 Be amo hamobeba: le, Na da ilima se hame imunu. Bai dilisu amola da sia: ne gadosu diasu hina: da: i bidi lasu uda amola gilisili lalala amola ili gilisili, hame lalegagui dunu defele, ogogosu gobele salasu hou hamonana. Musa: malasu defele, ‘Dunu fi da asigi dawa: su hame galea, ilia da wadela: lesi dagoi ba: mu.’
But it is not [only] your daughters [whom I will punish] for having become prostitutes, and it is not [only] your daughters-in-law whom I will punish for committing adultery, because the men also are having sex with prostitutes, and they offer sacrifices with the prostitutes [who search for men at the] shrines [of the idols]. [They are all] foolish people, and they will [all] be ruined.
15 Dilia Isala: ili fi dunu da Nama baligi fa: i dagoi. Be Yuda fi dunu da amo defele hamomu da defea hame. Dilia Giliga: le o Bedele amoma nodone sia: ne gadosu hou mae hamoma. Amola amogawi, Esalalalusu Hina Gode Ea Dioba: le, dafawane ilegele sia: mae sia: ma.
You Israeli [people] have abandoned me like [MET] those who commit adultery have abandoned their spouses. But do not cause [the people of] Judah to sin [also]. Do not go to Gilgal or go up to Beth-Aven [towns] [to worship idols there]. Do not make solemn promises [there, saying ‘Just as surely] as Yahweh lives, [I will do what I am promising].’
16 Isala: ili dunu da ‘miule’ (dougi agoai) amo ilia gawamaga: i hou defele gala. Dunu da gisi noga: i sogega sibi mano ilima ha: i nasu iaha. Be Na da habodane amo defele, Isala: ili dunuma ha: i manudafa ima: bela: ?
You [people of Israel] are as stubborn as [SIM] a young cow. So there is no way [RHQ] that [I], Yahweh, will [provide food for them] [like a shepherd provides food for his] lambs [by leading them] to a nice meadow.
17 Isala: ili dunu da loboga hamoi ‘gode’ amo ilia gasaga gagulaligi dagoi. Defea! Ilisu ilia logo fodoi amoga masa: ne yolesima!
The people of Israel have chosen to worship idols [MET], [so] allow them [to do what they want to do].
18 Ilia waini hano bagade nalu, hahawane hina: da: i bidi lasu hou defele hamonana. Ilia da ilima nodosu hou mae dawa: le, gogosiasu fawane hanai gala.
When their rulers finish drinking [their wine], they go to find prostitutes; they love their disgraceful behavior.
19 Ilia da foga mini masunu agoai ba: mu. Amola ilia da hame lalegagui ogogosu gobele salasu hou hamobeba: le, gogosiamu.”
But they will disappear [as though] [MET] they were blown away by a whirlwind. They will become [very] ashamed because of their offering sacrifices [to idols].”
