2 Hou Olelesu 13
1 Yelouboua: me da Isala: ili fi hina bagade hamone, ode 18 agoane ouligilalu, Abaidia da Yuda hina bagade hamoi.
In the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam, Abijah reigns over Judah;
2 E da ode udiana Yelusalemega esala, Yuda fi ouligisu. Ea ame da Ma: iaga (Iuliele idiwi). E da Gibia moilai bai bagadega misi. Abaidia amola Yelouboua: me da ha lale gegei.
he has reigned three years in Jerusalem (and the name of his mother [is] Michaiah daughter of Uriel, from Gibeah), and there has been war between Abijah and Jeroboam.
3 Abaidia ea dadi gagui dunu idi da 400,000 agoane. Ema gegemusa: , Yelouboua: me da dadi gagui dunu 800,000 agoane gilisi.
And Abijah directs the war with a force of mighty men of war, four hundred thousand chosen men, and Jeroboam has set in array [for] battle with him, with eight hundred thousand chosen men, mighty men of valor.
4 Amo dadi gagui wa: i aduna da Ifala: ime agolo sogega wa: i fi. Hina bagade Abaidia da Semala: imi goumia heda: le, Yeloubouma: ne amola Isala: ili dunuma amane wele sia: i, “Na sia: be nabima!
And Abijah rises up on the hill of Zemaraim that [is] in the hill-country of Ephraim, and says, “Hear me, Jeroboam and all Israel!
5 Dilia amo hou hame dawa: bela: ? Isala: ili Hina Gode da eso huluane dialoma: ne gousa: su, Da: ibidi amola egaga fi ilima hamoi. E amane ilegele sia: i, ‘Da: ibidi amola egaga fi da mae fisili, eso huluane Isala: ili fi ouligilalumu.
Is it not for you to know that YHWH, God of Israel, has given the kingdom over Israel to David for all time, to him and to his sons—a covenant of salt?
6 Be Yelouboua: me (Niba: de egefe) da ea hina bagade Soloumanema odoga: i.
And Jeroboam, son of Nebat, servant of Solomon son of David, rises up and rebels against his lord!
7 Fa: no, e da hamedei wadela: i hamosu dunu gilisili, ilia da Soloumane egefe Lihouboua: me ema odoga: i. Lihouboua: me da ayeligi amola buluduiba: le, ilima dabe gegemu hamedei ba: i.
And vain men are gathered to him, sons of worthlessness, and they strengthen themselves against Rehoboam son of Solomon, and Rehoboam was a youth, and tender of heart, and has not strengthened himself against them.
8 Be wali di da nama gegemusa: dawa: beba: le, di da ouligisu hou amo Hina Gode da Da: ibidi amola egaga fi ilima ilegei, ilima gegemusa: dawa: lala. Di da dadi gagui wa: i bagadedafa oule misi, amola gouliga hamoi bulamagau gawali agoai Yelouboua: me ea loboga hamoi ‘gode’ amola gaguli misi.
And now you are saying to strengthen yourselves before the kingdom of YHWH in the hand of the sons of David, and you [are] a numerous multitude, and calves of gold [are] with you that Jeroboam has made for you for gods.
9 Di da Hina Godema gobele salasu dunu Elane egaga fi amola Lifai fi dunu huluane sefasi. Di da eno fifi lai dunu defele, dia hanaiga ogogosu gobele salasu dunu ilegei. Nowa dunu da bulamagau gawali o sibi fesuale agoane gaguli masea, di da e ‘gobele salasu’ dunu ilegesa. Amasea, e da dia ogogosu loboga hamoi ‘gode’ ilima gobele salasu hou hamosa.
Have you not cast out the priests of YHWH, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and make priests for yourselves like the peoples of the lands? Everyone who has come to fill his hand with a bullock, a son of the herd, and seven rams, even he has been a priest for [those which are] not gods!
10 Be ninia da Hina Godedafa Ea hawa: hamonana. Ninia da E hame fisiagai. Elane egaga fi dunu da gobele salasu hawa: hamonana, amola Lifai fi dunu da ili fidisa.
As for us, YHWH [is] our God, and we have not forsaken Him, and priests are ministering to YHWH, sons of Aaron and the Levites, in the work,
11 Hahabe amola daeya huluane, ilia da Hina Godema gabusiga: manoma gobele sala, amola oloda da: iya ohe gogo gobele sala. Ilia da agi ga: gi Godema ima: ne, amo noga: le dodofei fafai da: iya ligisisa amola daeya huluane gamali amo da gouliga hamoi bai da: iya lela, amo wa: sa. Ninia da Hina Gode Ea hamoma: ne sia: i defele hamonana. Be dilia da Hina Gode fisiagai dagoi.
and are making incense to YHWH, burnt-offerings morning by morning, and evening by evening, and incense of spices, and the arrangement of bread [is] on the pure table, and the lampstand of gold, and its lamps, to burn evening by evening, for we are keeping the charge of our God YHWH, and you have forsaken Him.
12 Gode Hisu da ninia bisilua, amola Ea gobele salasu dunu da dalabede gaguiwane, ninia dima gegema: ne fulabomusa: momagele lela. Isala: ili fi dunu! Dilia aowalalia Hina Godema mae gegema! Dilia nini hasalimu da hamedei ba: mu.”
And behold, with us—at [our] head—[is] God, and His priests and trumpets of shouting to shout against you; O sons of Israel, do not fight with YHWH, God of your fathers, for you do not prosper.”
13 Amogaluwane, Yelouboua: me da ea dadi gagui dunu mogili, ili Yuda dadi gagui wa: i baligia logo legema: ne asunasi. E da eno dadi gagui amo Yuda wa: i midadi doagala: ma: ne asunasi.
And Jeroboam has brought around the ambush to come in from behind them, and they are before Judah, and the ambush [is] behind them.
14 Yuda dadi gagui dunu da ba: le gagaloba, ili eale disi ba: i. Ilia da Hina Godema ili fidima: ne disa wele sia: i, amola gobele salasu dunu da dalabede fulaboi.
And Judah turns, and behold, the battle [is] against them, before and behind, and they cry to YHWH, and the priests are blowing with trumpets,
15 Yuda dadi gagui dunu da ha: giwane wele sia: ne, Isala: ili dadi gagui wa: i doagala: i. Abaidia hi bisili doagala: i. Gode da Yelouboua: me amola Isala: ili dadi gagui wa: i hasali.
and the men of Judah shout; and it comes to pass, at the shouting of the men of Judah, that God has struck Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.
16 Isala: ili dunu da Yuda dadi gagui dunuba: le hobeale asi. Gode da ili fidiba: le, Yuda dadi gagui ilia Isala: ili hasali.
And the sons of Israel flee from the face of Judah, and God gives them into their hand,
17 Abaidia amola ea dadi gagui wa: i da Isala: ili dadi gagui wa: i dafawanedafa hasali. Ilia da Isala: ili bisilua dadi gagui dunu 500,000 agoane medole legei.
and Abijah and his people strike among them a great striking, and five hundred thousand chosen men of Israel fall wounded.
18 Yuda dunu da ilia aowalalia Hina Gode Ea hou dafawaneyale dawa: beba: le, amo Ea fidima: ne adole ba: beba: le, ilima ha lai dunu amo hasali dagoi ba: i.
And the sons of Israel are humbled at that time, and the sons of Judah are strong, for they have leaned on YHWH, God of their fathers.
19 Abaidia da Yelouboua: me ea dadi gagui wa: i se bobogele, Isala: ili moilai bai bagade mogili susugui. Amo da Bedele, Yesiana, Ifalone amola moilai fonobahadi amo sisiga: le dialu.
And Abijah pursues after Jeroboam and captures cities from him: Beth-El and its small towns, and Jeshanah and its small towns, and Ephraim and its small towns.
20 Yeleboua: me ea gasa da fisi ba: i. Abaidia da Yuda soge ouligiloba, Yelouboua: me da ea gasa hou bu hame lai. Fa: nowane, Hina Gode da e fane legei dagoi.
And Jeroboam has not retained power anymore in the days of Abijah, and YHWH strikes him, and he dies.
21 Be Abaidia ea gasa da bu bagade heda: i. E da uda ba: lisi agoane lai amola egefelali idi da 22 agoane amola idiwilali idi da silisi agoane.
And Abijah strengthens himself, and takes fourteen wives for himself, and begets twenty-two sons and sixteen daughters;
22 Abaidia ea eno hamonanusu amola ea sia: amo da “Balofede Dunu Idou ea Hamonanu” meloa dedei amo ganodini dedene legei.
and the rest of the matters of Abijah, and his ways, and his words, are written in the commentary of the prophet Iddo.
