2 Hou Olelesu 10
1 Isala: ili ga (north) fi dunu huluane da Lihouboua: me hina bagade hamomusa: , Siegeme moilai bai bagadega gilisila misi. Lihouboua: me da amoga asi.
And Rehoboam went to Shechem: for to Shechem had all Israel come to make him king.
2 Be Yelouboua: me (Niba: de egefe - e da Soloumaneba: le Idibidi sogega hobea: i) e da amo hou nababeba: le, Idibidi soge fisili, buhagi.
And it came to pass, when Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who [was] in Egypt, whither he had fled from the presence of Solomon the king, heard [it], that Jeroboam returned from Egypt.
3 Isala: ili ga (north) fi huluane da e ilima misa: ne sia: na asi. Amalalu, ilia da gilisili Lihouboua: mema asili, amane sia: i,
And they sent and called him. So Jeroboam and all Israel came and spoke to Rehoboam, saying,
4 “Dia ada Soloumane da ninima gasa fili hamobeba: le, ninia dioi bagade nabasu. Di da amo gasa fili olelesu hou fisili, amola ninia dioi hagilisisia, amola nini asabole esaloma: ne hamosea, ninia da dima molole fa: no bobogemu.”
Thy father made our yoke grievous: now therefore ease thou somewhat the grievous servitude of thy father, and his heavy yoke that he put upon us, and we will serve thee.
5 Lihouboua: me da bu adole i, “Na da eso udiana esalu, bu masea, dilima bu adole imunu.” Amaiba: le, ilia da fisili asi.
And he said to them, Come again to me after three days. And the people departed.
6 Hina bagade Lihouboua: me da asigilai dunu (amo da musa: ea ada Soloumane ea fada: i sia: fidisu dunu) ilima amane adole ba: i, “Dilia adi dawa: bela: ? Na da amo dunuma adi adole ima: bela: ?”
And king Rehoboam took counsel with the old men that had stood before Solomon his father while he yet lived, saying, What counsel give ye [me] to return answer to this people?
7 Ilia amane adole i, “Di da amo dunu fi noga: le fidimusa: dawa: sea, di ilia adole ba: su amoma asigiwane bu adole ima. Amasea ilia da eso huluane dima molole hawa: hamomu.”
And they spoke to him, saying, If thou wilt be kind to this people, and please them, and speak good words to them, they will be thy servants for ever.
8 Be Lihouboua: me da asigilai dunu, ilia fada: i sia: hame nabi. Be amomane e da ayeligi dunu e ili gilisili asigilai, ilia sia: fawane nabi. Bai e da ayeligi dunu ili amo ea fada: i sia: fidisu dunu hamoi.
But he forsook the counsel which the old men gave him, and took counsel with the young men that were brought up with him, that stood before him.
9 E da ilima amane adole ba: i, “Dilia da nama adi hamoma: ne fada: ne sia: sala: ? Amo dunu ilia da nama, ilia asabole esaloma: ne hamoma: ne sia: sa. Na da ilima adi sia: ma: bela: ?”
And he said to them, What advice give ye, that we may return answer to this people, who have spoken to me, saying, Ease somewhat the yoke that thy father put upon us?
10 Ilia da bu adole i, “Di ilima amane adole ima, ‘Dilia da na ada da gasa fili hamosu dawa: sala: ? Hame mabu! Na lobo sogo fonobahadi ea defei da na ada ea buluga: su dedei amo baligisa.’
And the young men that were brought up with him, spoke to him, saying, Thus shalt thou answer the people that spoke to thee, saying, Thy father made our yoke heavy, but make thou [it] somewhat lighter for us; thus shalt thou say to them, My little [finger] shall be thicker than my father's loins.
11 Amola ilima eno adole ima, ‘Dafawane! Na ada da dili dioi bagade nabima: ne hamoi. Be na da dioi bagade baligili dilima imunu. Na ada da dili fegasu efe amoga fai. Be na da fegasu efe bagadedafa amoga dili famu!’”
For whereas my father put a heavy yoke upon you, I will put more to your yoke: my father chastised you with whips, but I [will chastise you] with scorpions.
12 Eso osoda baligili, Yelouboua: me amola dunu huluane, hina bagade Lihouboua: me ea hamoma: ne sia: i defele, ema sinidigi.
So Jeroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam on the third day, as the king directed, saying, Come again to me on the third day.
13 Lihouboua: me da asigilai dunu ilia fada: i sia: mae dawa: le, dunu huluane ilima gasa fili sia: i.
And the king answered them roughly; and king Rehoboam forsook the counsel of the old men,
14 E da ayeligi ilia fada: i sia: defele sia: i. E amane sia: i. “Dilia da na ada da gasa fili hamosu dawa: sala: ? Hame mabu! Na lobo sogo fonobahadi ea defei da na ada ea buluga: su defei amo baligisa. Dafawane! Na ada da dili dioi bagade nabima: ne hamoi. Be na da dioi bagade baligili dilima imunu. Na ada da dili fegasu efe amoga fai. Be na da fegasu efe bagadedafa amoga dili famu!’”
And answered them after the advice of the young men, saying, My father made your yoke heavy, but I will add to it; my father chastised you with whips, but I [will chastise you] with scorpions.
15 Hina Gode Ea hanaiga, hou amo E da Siailou Balofede (Gode Sia: Alofesu dunu) Abaidia ea lafidili amo Yelouboua: me (Niba: de egefe) ema sia: i, amo doaga: i dagoi ba: i. Hina bagade Lihouboua: me da dunu fi ilima gasa fili hamoi, amo ea bai da goea.
So the king hearkened not to the people: for the cause was of God, that the LORD might perform his word, which he spoke by the hand of Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
16 Dunu huluane da hina bagade da ilia sia: nabimu higa: i, amo ba: beba: le, ilia da amane halale sia: i, “Da: ibidi amola ea sosogo fi fisiagama! Ilia da nini hamedafa fidisu! Isala: ili dunu! Ninia da afia: la: di! Lihouboua: me hisu ouligima: ma!” Isala: ili dunu da amanewane odoga: su.
And when all Israel [saw] that the king would not hearken to them, the people answered the king, saying, What portion have we in David? and [we have] no inheritance in the son of Jesse: every man to your tents, O Israel: [and] now, David, see to thy own house. So all Israel went to their tents.
17 Amola Lihouboua: me da dunu fi Yuda soge ganodini, amo fawane ouligimu ba: i.
But [as for] the children of Israel that dwelt in the cities of Judah, Rehoboam reigned over them.
18 Amalalu, hina bagade Lihouboua: me da udigili sesei hawa: hamosu dunu ilia ouligisu dunu A: dounaila: me amo Isala: ili dunuma asunasi. Be ilia da e igiga gala: le medole legei. Then king Rehoboam sent Hadoram that [was] over the tribute; and the children of Israel stoned him with stones, that he died. But king Rehoboam made speed to get into his chariot, to flee to Jerusalem.
19 Amo eso fa: no, Isala: ili ga (north) fi dunu da Da: ibidi ea ouligisu sosogo fi ilima lelele esalu.
And Israel rebelled against the house of David to this day.
