1 Solo da lalelegele, ode 30 agoane esalu, e da hina bagade dunu hamoi. E da hina bagade hamone, Isala: ili dunu ouligilala, ode 42 baligi.
Saul was [thirty] years old when he began to reign; and, when he had reigned two years over Israel,
2 Solo da dunu 3,000 agoane ilegei. Dunu 2,000 agoane da hi oule Bedele goumi sogega amola Migema: se sogega. Saul chose him three thousand men out of Israel, of whom there were with Saul, two thousand in Michmash and in the hill-country of Bethel, and, a thousand, were with Jonathan, in Gibeah of Benjamin, —but, the rest of the people, he let go, every man to his own home.

Then did Jonathan smite the garrison of Philistines that was in Geba, and the Philistines heard of it, —and, Saul, blew with a horn throughout all the land saying, Let the Hebrews hear!
4 Ilia da Isala: ili dunu huluane amo Solo da Filisidini dadi gagui ouligisu dunu fanelegei dagoi olelei. Amola Filisidini dunu da Isala: ili dunu bagade higasa, amola olelei. Amaiba: le, dunu ilia da Solo ea ili Giliga: lega masa: ne sia: si, amoga nabawene asi.
And, all Israel, heard say—Saul hath smitten the garrison of the Philistines, Moreover, also, Israel have made themselves odious among the Philistines, —so the people were called together to follow Saul, to Gilgal.
5 Filisidini dunu ilia da Isala: ili dunuma gegemusa: wa: i. And, the Philistines, gathered themselves together to fight with Israel, thirty thousand chariots, and six thousand horsemen, a people also like the sand that is on the sea-shore for multitude, —and they came up, and encamped in Michmash, east of Beth-aven.
6 Amalalu, Filisidini dunu da Isala: ili dunuma gasa fili, doagala: i. Gasa bagade gegebeba: le, Isala: ili dunu da bu dabe gegemu hamedei ba: i. Ilia hobeale, mogili da magufu gelabo amola uli dogoi amola gele sogebi, amola hano si amo ganodini wamoaligi.
So, the men of Israel, saw they were in a strait, for the people had been harassed, —and the people had hidden themselves in caves, and in thickets, and among cliffs, and in holes, and in pits.
7 Dunu oda da Yodane Hano degele, Ga: de amola Gilia: de ilia ouligisu soge ole amo alofele asi. Solo da Giliga: lega esalu, amola dadi gagui dunu amola eno dunu ema gilisi da bagadewane beda: ga yagugududalu.
And, Hebrews, had passed over the Jordan, to the land of Gad, and Gilead, —but, Saul, was yet in Gilgal, and all the people, trembled after him.

And he waited seven days, by the set time that Samuel had named, but Samuel came not to Gilgal, —and the people were scattered from him.
9 Amaiba: le, Solo da ilima amane sia: i, “Wadela: i Hou Dabe Ima: ne gobele salasu liligi amola Hahawane Gilisili Olofole gobele salasu liligi nama gaguli misa.” Amalalu, e da amo liligi gobele sali.
Then said Saul, Bring near unto me, the ascending-sacrifice and the peace-offerings. And he offered up the ascending-sacrifice.
10 Gobele sali amo dagomu galu, Sa: miuele da doaga: i. Solo da Sa: miuele yosia: musa: amola sia: gadomusa: asi.
And it came to pass, as he had made an end of offering up the ascending-sacrifice, lo! Samuel, had come, —and Saul went out to meet him, that he might bless him.
11 Be Sa: miuele da amane sia: i, “Dia da adi hamobela: ?” Solo da adole i, “Dunu ilia da naba: le hobeale gogosa, amola di da di misunusa: ilegele sia: i amo defele hame misi. Amaia amoiwane da Filisidini dadi gagui dunu da nini doaga: la: musa: , Migema: sega gilisilala.
Then said Samuel—What hast thou done? And Saul said—Because I saw that the people had been scattered from me, and, thou, hadst not come within the appointed days, and, the Philistines, had gathered themselves together to Michmash,

therefore I said—Now, will the Philistines come down against me, at Gilgal, but, the face of Yahweh, have I not appeased: So I forced myself, and offered up the ascending-sacrifice.
13 “Di da gagaoulewane hamoi galu,” Sa: miuele da adole i. “Di da dia Hina Gode Ea hamoma: ne dima olelei, amo defele hame hamoi. Di da amo hamoma: ne sia: i Hina Gode Ea dima i, amo defele hamosu ganiaba, di da Isala: ili ouligili fifi asi bagade sedagila: loba.
And Samuel said unto Saul—Thou hast shewn thyself foolish, —thou hast not kept the commandment of Yahweh thy God, which he commanded thee, for, now, would Yahweh have established thy kingdom unto Israel until times age-abiding;
14 Be waha da dia gebewane hame ouligisa ahoanumu. Bai dia Hina Gode Ea sia: defele hame hamoi, amola Gode da Ea hanai dunu eno hogole, amo ea da hina bagade hamone Isala: ili dunu ouligimu.”
Whereas, now, shall thy kingdom not be established, —Yahweh hath sought out for him a man after his own heart, and Yahweh hath commanded him to be leader over his people, because thou hast not kept that which Yahweh commanded thee.
15 Sa: miuele da Giliga: le yolesili asi dagoi. Solo da ea dadi gagui dunu ilima madelale gegemusa: ahoabeba: le, dunu oda da ea baligiga aligili fa: no bobogei. Ilia da Giliga: leganini Gibiaga (Bediamini ea ouligisu soge amo ganodini) amoga asili doaga: i. Solo da e fisili asi dunu amo abodele ba: i, e da ba: loba dunu da 600 agoane ba: i.
And Samuel arose, and ascended from Gilgal unto Gibeah of Benjamin. And Saul numbered the people who were found with him, about six hundred men.
16 Solo, ea mano Yonada: ne amola ea dadi gagui dunu ilia da wa: i asili Gibaga ha wa: i fisisu gaguli fi. (amo da Bediamini ea ouligibi soge amo ganodini) Be Filisidini ilia ha wa: i fisisu da Migema: sega galu.
Now, Saul, and Jonathan his son, and the people that were found with him, were abiding in Geba of Benjamin, —but, the Philistines, had encamped in Michmash.
17 Filisidini ilia da Migema: seganini Isala: ili dunu doaga: la: musa: udiana mogili asi. Mogili afae da Ofala moilai bai bagade (Sioule soge ganodini) amoga doagala: musa: asi,
And the spoilers came forth out of the camp of the Philistines, in three companies, the first company, turned unto the way of Ophrah, unto the land of Shual;
18 mogili da Bedehoulone moilaigadi asi amola mogi da soge alalo amo da Sibouimi Fago amola hafoga: i soge amoga gadodili dialebe amoga asi.
and, the second company, turned unto the way of Beth-horon, —and, the third company, turned unto the way of the boundary that overlooketh the valley of Zeboim, towards the wilderness.
19 Isala: ili dunu afaega da gulaga dadi hahamosu hame dawa: i galu, bai Filisidini dunu ilia da Hibulu dunu ilia gegesu gobihei sedade amola gegesu dadi debesa: besa: le, sema bagade ilegei.
Now, a smith, could not be found, throughout all the land of Israel—for the Philistines had said, Lest the Hebrews make sword or spear.
20 (Isala: ili dunu ilia da Filisidini dunuma asili, ilia osobo gidinasu, goahei amola gisi nosu amo debemusa: ahoasu.
So all Israel went down to the Philistines, —to sharpen every man his share, and his mattock, and his axe, and his sickle.
21 Debesea, bidi adosu da gasa fonobahadi afaega da goahei debesu amola bulamagau sese ahoasu ifa seda debesu, amola gasa adunaga osobo gidinasu amola moi dogosu debesu).
Howbeit they had a file for the sickles, and the mattocks, and the three-pronged forks, and the axes, —and for setting the goads.
22 Gegesu amoga Isala: ili dadi gagui iliga da Solo amola ea mano Yonada: ne elea fawane da gegesu gobihei sedade amola goge agei gagui.
Thus would it come to pass, in the day of battle, that there was found—neither sword nor spear, in the hand of any of the people, that were with Saul and Jonathan, but such were found belonging to Saul and to Jonathan his son.
23 Filisidini dunu ilia da dadi gagui mogili Migema: sega Adobo Gigiadofa Ahoasu amo sosodo aligima: ne asunasi.
Now the garrison of the Philistines had come out to the pass of Michmash.
