1 Hou Olelesu 21
1 Sa: ida: ne da Isala: ili fi ilima bidi hamosu ima: ne dawa: i galu. E da Da: ibidi ea asigi dawa: su ganodini hamobeba: le, Da: ibidi da Isala: ili fi dunu huluane idili dedemusa: dawa: i galu.
And the devil stood up against Israel, and moved David to number Israel.
2 Amaiba: le, Da: ibidi da dadi gagui wa: i ouligisudafa amo Youa: be, amola ea afoha ouligisu dunu huluane ilima amane sia: i, “Isala: ili fi huluane fadomane fasisa asili muni na: iyado soge bega: asili na: iyado bega: doaga: le amola dunu huluane idima. Na da ili idi dawa: mu hanai gala.”
And king David said to Joab and to the captains of the forces, Go, number Israel from Bersabee even to Dan, and bring me [the account], and I shall know their number.
3 Be Youa: be da amane adole i, “Hina noga: idafa! Dia Hina Gode da Isala: ili dunu ilia idi amo bagalesili, bu afae da 100 ba: ma: ne hamomu da defea. And Joab said, May the Lord add to his people, a hundred-fold as many as they [are], and [let] the eyes of my lord the king see [it]: all [are] the servants of my lord. Why does my lord seek this thing? [do it not], lest it become a sin to Israel.

Nevertheless the king's word prevailed against Joab; and Joab went out and passed through all Israel, and came to Jerusalem.
5 E da hina bagadema amo dunu huluane amo da gegemusa: defele esalu, amo ilia idi ema sia: ne iasu. Ilia idi da Isala: ili dunu 1,100,000 agoane amola Yuda dunu 470,000 agoane.
And Joab gave the number of the mustering of the people to David: and all Israel was a million and a hundred thousand men that drew sword: and the sons of Juda [were] four hundred and seventy thousand men that drew sword.
6 Youa: be da hina bagade Da: ibidi ea hamoma: ne sia: i higa: iba: le, e da Lifai amola Bediamini fi dunu hame idili dedei.
But he numbered not Levi and Benjamin among them; for the word of the king was painful to Joab.

And [there was] evil in the sight of the Lord respecting this thing; and he smote Israel.
8 Da: ibidi da Godema amane sia: i, “Na da amo hamobeba: le, wadela: le bagadedafa hamoi. Dafawane! Na da gagaoui agoane hamoi dagoi. Na gogolema: ne olofoma.”
And David said to God, I have sinned exceedingly, in that I have done this thing: and now, I pray thee, remove the sin of thy servant; for I have been exceedingly foolish.
9 Hina Gode da Ga: de (Da: ibidi ea balofede dunu) ema amane sia: i,
And the Lord spoke to Gad the seer, saying,
10 “Di Da: ibidima asili, amola ema Na da ilegesu udiana ema olelemu. Amo ilegesu hi da ilegesea, amo Na da ema hamomu.”
Go and speak to David, saying, Thus saith the Lord, I bring three things upon thee: choose one of them for thyself, and I will do it to thee.
11 Ga: de da ema asili, Hina Gode Ea sia: i ema alofele i. E da Da: ibidima amane adole ba: i, “Di da adi ilegesala: ?
And Gad came to David, and said to him, Thus saith the Lord, Choose for thyself,
12 Dia soge amo ganodini ha: i ode udiana ilegema: bela: ? O oubi udiana amoga dia ha lai da di hasalabeba: le, di sefasimu, amo ilegema: bela: ? O eso udiana Hina Gode da Ea gegesu gobiheiga dima doagala: mu amola olo bagade dia sogega madelama: ne, Ea a: igele dunu asunasimu, amo ilegema: bela: ? Di dawa: lalu, nama adole ima. Amasea, na da Hina Godema alofele adole imunu.”
either three years of famine, or that thou shouldest flee three months from the face of thine enemies, and the sword of thine enemies [shall be employed] to destroy thee, or that the sword of the Lord and pestilence [should be] three days in the land, and the angel of the Lord [shall be] destroying in all the inheritance of Israel. And now consider what I shall answer to him that sent the message.
13 Da: ibidi da bu adole i, “Na da bidi hamosu bagadedafa amoga sisiga: i. Be na da osobo bagade dunuga se nabimu higa: i. Hina Gode Hisu da ninima se imunu da defea. Bai e da asigisa, amola gogolema: ne olofosu dawa:”
And David said to Gad, They are very hard for me, even [all] the three: let me fall now into the hands of the Lord, for his mercies [are] very abundant, and let me not fall by any means into the hands of man.

So the Lord brought pestilence upon Israel: and there fell of Israel seventy thousand men.

And God sent an angel to Jerusalem to destroy it: and as he was destroying, the Lord saw, and repented for the evil, and said to the angel that was destroying, Let it suffice thee; withhold thine hand. And the angel of the Lord stood by the threshing-floor of Orna the Jebusite.

And David lifted up his eyes, and saw the angel of the Lord, standing between the earth and the heaven, and his sword drawn in his hand, stretched out over Jerusalem: and David and the elders clothed in sackcloth, fell upon their faces.
17 Da: ibidi da Hina Godema amane sia: i, “Gode! Na fawane da wadela: le hamoi. Na fawane da idili dedesu hamoma: ne sia: i. Amo hahani dunu da adi hamobela: ? Na Hina Gode! Di da na amola na sosogo ninima se imunu da defea galu. Be Dia fi dunu yolesima!”
And David said to God, [Was it] not I [that] gave orders to number the people? and I am the guilty one; I have greatly sinned: but these sheep, what have they done? O Lord God, let thy hand be upon me, and upon my father's house, and not on thy people for destruction, O Lord!
18 Hina Gode Ea a: igele dunu da ema sia: beba: le, Ga: de da Da: ibidima asili, amane sia: i, “Dia Alona ea widi dabasu amoga asili, Hina Godema gobele salimusa: , oloda gaguma.”
And the angel of the Lord told Gad to tell David, that he should go up to erect and altar to the Lord, in the threshing-floor of Orna the Jebusite.
19 Da: ibidi da Hina Gode Ea sia: Ga: demadi misi, amo nababeba: le, asi.
And David went up according to the word of Gad, which he spoke in the name of the Lord.
20 Widi dabasu sogega, Alona amola egefe biyaduyale da widi dabalelebe ba: i. Ilia da a: igele ba: beba: le, Alona egefelali da wamoaligimusa: hobea: i.
And Orna turned and saw the king; and he hid himself and his four sons with him. Now Orna was threshing wheat.
21 Alona da hina bagade manebe ba: beba: le, e da dabasu soge fisili, beguduli osoboga mi bugila sa: i.
And David came to Orna; and Orna came forth from the threshing-floor, and did obeisance to David with his face to the ground.
22 Da: ibidi da ema amane sia: i, “Dia widi dabasu sogebi nama bidi lama! Bai amogawi amo olo hedofama: ne, na da Hina Godema oloda hamomusa: misi. Na da amo sogebi ea bidi defele dima imunu.”
And David said to Orna, Give me thy place of the threshing-floor, and I will build upon it an altar to the Lord: give it me for its worth in money, and the plague shall cease from [among] the people.
23 Alona da amane sia: i, “Defea, hina noga: idafa! Lama! Amola dia hanaiga Hina Godema gobele salima. Amola na bulamagau di oloda da: iya gobele salimusa: lama. Ilia ‘youge’ amola dabasu ifa amo lalu didima: ne lama. Na da amo huluane udigili dima iaha.”
And Orna said to David, Take it to thyself, and let my lord the king do what is right in his eyes: see, I have given the calves for a whole-burnt-offering, and the plough for wood, and the corn for a meat-offering; I have given all.
24 Be hina bagade da bu adole i, “Hame mabu! Na da amo liligi ea bidi defele dima imunu. Liligi amo na da bidi mae iawane udigili lai, amo na da na Hina Godema hame gobele salimu.”
And king David said to Orna, Nay; for I will surely buy it for its worth in money: for I will not take thy property for the Lord, to offer a whole-burnt-offering to the Lord without cost [to myself].
25 Amola, e da widi dabasu sogebi, amo gouli fage 600 agoanega bidi lai.
And David gave to Orna for his place six hundred shekels of gold [by] weight.
26 Amalalu, Da: ibidi da Hina Godema oloda gaguli, amola amo da: iya Wadela: i Hou Dabe Ima: ne Iasu amola Hahawane Gilisili Olofele Iasu hamosu. Da: ibidi da Hina Godema sia: ne gadoi amola Hina Gode da Da: ibidi ea sia: ne gadosu nababeba: le, dabe adole i. E da muagadodili, lalu amo gobele salasu liligi gobele salimusa: iasi.
And David built there an altar to the Lord, and offered up whole-burnt-offerings and peace-offerings: and he cried to the Lord, and he answered him by fire out of heaven on the altar of whole-burnt-offerings, and [it] consumed the whole-burnt-offering.
27 Hina Gode da Ea a: igele dunuma, ea gegesu gobihei bu salima: ne sia: i.
And the Lord spoke to the angel; and he put up the sword into its sheath.
28 Amo hou ba: beba: le, Hina Gode da ea sia: ne gadosu amoma dabe adole i, Da: ibidi da ba: i dagoi. Amaiba: le, e da Alona widi dadabisu sogebiga oloda da: iya, gobele salasu.
At that time when David saw that the Lord answered him in the threshing-floor of Orna the Jebusite, he also sacrificed there.
29 Amo esoga, Hina Gode Ea Abula Diasu (Mousese da amo hafoga: i sogega hamoi) amola oloda amoga ilia da gobele salasu, amo da Gibione sia: ne gadosu sogebiga dialebe ba: i.
And the tabernacle of the Lord which Moses made in the wilderness, and the altar of whole-burnt-offerings, [were] at that time in the high place at Gabaon.
30 Be Da: ibidi da Godema nodone sia: ne gadomusa: , Gibione soge amoga masunu hamedei ba: i. Bai e da Hina Gode Ea a: igele dunu ea gegesu gobiheiba: le beda: i galu.
And David could not go before it to enquire of God; for he hasted not because of the sword of the angel of the Lord.
