1 İmanlılara xatırlat ki, başçılar və hakimlərə tabe olub itaət etsinlər. Hər cür xeyirli iş görməyə hazır olsunlar.
Remind the believers to submit to rulers and authorities, to be obedient and ready for every good work,
2 Heç kimə şər atmasınlar, davakar deyil, mülayim olsunlar və bütün insanlarla həlim davransınlar.
to malign no one, and to be peaceable and gentle, showing full consideration to everyone.
3 Çünki bir zamanlar biz də ağılsız, itaətsiz, yolunu azmış, müxtəlif ehtiraslar və zövqlərə qul olan, kin, paxıllıq içində yaşayan mənfur və bir-birimizə nifrət edən adamlar idik.
For at one time we too were foolish, disobedient, misled, and enslaved to all sorts of desires and pleasures—living in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another.
4 Amma Xilaskarımız Allah xeyirxahlığını və insana olan sevgisini açıq göstərdiyi zaman
But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared,
5 bizim salehliklə etdiyimiz əməllərlə deyil, Öz mərhəmətinə görə bizi xilas etdi. Bunu bizi yumaqla, yəni Müqəddəs Ruhun bizi yenidən doğuzdurub təzələməsi ilə etdi.
He saved us, not by the righteous deeds we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of new birth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
6 Allah Xilaskarımız İsa Məsih vasitəsilə üzərimizə bol-bol Müqəddəs Ruhu tökdü ki,
This is the Spirit He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
so that, having been justified by His grace, we would become heirs with the hope of eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
8 Bu söz etibarlıdır. Mən bunların üzərində dayanmağını istəyirəm ki, Allaha iman etmişlər xeyirxah işlərlə məşğul olmağa diqqət yetirsinlər. Bu, insanlar üçün xeyirli və faydalıdır.
This saying is trustworthy. And I want you to emphasize these things, so that those who have believed God will take care to devote themselves to good deeds. These things are excellent and profitable for the people.
9 Lakin axmaq mübahisələrdən, nəsil şəcərələrindən, münaqişələrdən, Qanunla bağlı dava-dalaşlardan uzaq dur. Çünki bunlar faydasız və boş şeylərdir.
But avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, arguments, and quarrels about the law, because these things are pointless and worthless.
10 Təfriqəçi adamdan birinci və ikinci xəbərdarlıqdan sonra əlaqəni kəs.
Reject a divisive man after a first and second admonition,
11 Belə adamın yolunu azmış və günahkar olduğuna əmin ola bilərsən. O öz-özünü məhkum etmişdir.
knowing that such a man is corrupt and sinful; he is self-condemned.
12 Mən Artema və ya Tixiki yanına göndərən kimi çalış ki, yanıma, Nikopolisə gələsən. Çünki qışı orada keçirməyi qərara almışam.
As soon as I send Artemas or Tychicus to you, make every effort to come to me at Nicopolis, because I have decided to winter there.
13 Qanunşünas Zena ilə Apollonu səylə yola sal, qoy onların heç bir şeyə ehtiyacı olmasın.
Do your best to equip Zenas the lawyer and Apollos, so that they will have everything they need.
14 Qoy bizimkilər də təcili ehtiyacları ödəmək üçün xeyirli işlərlə məşğul olmağı öyrənsinlər ki, bəhrəsiz qalmasınlar.
And our people must also learn to devote themselves to good works in order to meet the pressing needs of others, so that they will not be unfruitful.
