The vision of Obadiah. Thus says the lord Jehovah concerning Edom: We have heard tidings from Jehovah, and an ambassador is sent among the nations, saying, Arise ye, and let us rise up against her in battle.
2 «Bax səni millətlər arasında kiçildəcəyəm, Hamı sənə xor baxacaq.
Behold, I have made thee small among the nations. Thou are greatly despised.
3 Ey sən qaya çatlarında məskən salan, Evini yüksəklərdə quran! Ürəyinin qüruru səni aldatdı, Çünki sən qəlbində “Məni kim yerə yıxa bilər?” dedin.
The pride of thy heart has deceived thee, O thou who dwell in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high, who says in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?
4 Sən qartal kimi yuxarı uçub Yuvanı ulduzlar arasında qursan da, Səni oradan endirəcəyəm». Rəbb bəyan edir.
Though thou mount on high as the eagle, and though thy nest be set among the stars, I will bring thee down from there, says Jehovah.
5 «Əgər gecə yanına oğrular, quldurlar gəlsəydi, Ancaq öz istədikləri qədər oğurlamazdılarmı? Əgər üzüm yığanlar sənin bağına gəlsəydi, Bir neçə salxımı saxlamazdılarmı? Amma gör səni nə cür müsibətlər gözləyir!
If thieves came to thee, if robbers by night (how thou are cut off!), would they not steal only till they had enough? If grape gatherers came to thee, would they not leave some gleaning grapes?
6 Esavın hər şeyi talan ediləcək, Gizli xəzinələri aşkara çıxarılacaq.
How are the things of Esau searched! How are his hidden treasures sought out!
7 Səninlə əhd bağlayanların hamısı Səni ölkəndən qovacaq, Müttəfiqlərin səni aldadıb məğlub edəcək. Səninlə çörək yeyənlər sənə tələ quracaq, “Onun ağlı haradadır?” deyəcək».
All the men of thy confederacy have brought thee on thy way, even to the border. The men who were at peace with thee have deceived thee, and prevailed against thee. Those who eat thy bread lay a snare under thee. There is no understanding in him.
8 Rəbb bəyan edir: «O gün Edomun hikmətli adamlarını, Esav dağındakı müdrikləri məhv edəcəyəm.
Shall I not in that day, says Jehovah, destroy the wise men out of Edom, and understanding out of the mount of Esau?
9 Ey Teman, igid adamların elə qorxuya düşəcək ki, Esav dağlarının hər sakini qırğında öldürüləcək.
And thy mighty men, O Teman, shall be dismayed, to the end that everyone may be cut off from the mount of Esau by slaughter.
10 Qardaşın Yaquba etdiyin zorakılığa görə Sən xəcalət içində qalacaqsan, Əbədi məhv olacaqsan.
Shame shall cover thee for the violence done to thy brother Jacob, and thou shall be cut off forever.
11 Yadellilər onun sərvətini aparanda Sən uzaqda durub tamaşa etdin. Əcnəbilər onun şəhər darvazalarından girib Yerusəlim üçün püşk atanda Sən də onlardan biri kimi davrandın.
In the day that thou stood on the other side, in the day that strangers carried away his substance, and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even thou were as one of them.

But look not thou on the day of thy brother in the day of his disaster, and rejoice not over the sons of Judah in the day of their destruction, nor speak proudly in the day of distress.
13 Xalqımın fəlakətli günündə Onların şəhər darvazalarından girməyəydin, Başlarına bəla gələn gün Onların fəlakətini sevinclə seyr etməyəydin, Başlarına bəla gələn gün Onların malına əl uzatmayaydın!
Enter not into the gate of my people in the day of their calamity. Yea, look not thou on their affliction in the day of their calamity, nor lay ye hands on their substance in the day of their calamity.
14 Sən gərək qaçan Yəhuda övladlarını öldürmək üçün Yol ayrıcında dayanmayaydın, O əzablı gün qurtulanları Düşmənə təslim etməyəydin!
And stand thou not in the crossway, to cut off those of his who escape, and deliver not up those of his who remain in the day of distress.
15 Axı bütün millətlər üçün Rəbbin günü yaxınlaşır, Ey Edom, sən nə cür etdinsə, sənə də belə ediləcək, Əməllərinin əvəzi öz başına gələcək!
For the day of Jehovah is near upon all the nations. As thou have done, it shall be done to thee. Thy dealing shall return upon thine own head.
16 Çünki siz Mənim müqəddəs dağımda içdiyiniz kimi Bütün xalqlar durmadan içəcək, İçib yox olacaq, Sanki əvvəldən yox idi.
For as ye have drunk upon my holy mountain, so shall all the nations drink continually. Yea, they shall drink, and swallow down, and shall be as though they had not been.
17 Lakin qurtuluş tapanlar Sion dağına toplanacaq, O dağ müqəddəs olacaq. Yaqub nəsli mülkünə sahib olacaq!
But in mount Zion there shall be those who escape, and it shall be holy, and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.
18 Yaqub nəsli od, Yusif nəsli alov, Esav nəsli isə küləş olacaq, Yaqub və Yusif nəsli Esav nəslini yandırıb məhv edəcək. Esav nəslindən qurtulan olmayacaq. Çünki Rəbb belə söylədi.
And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble. And they shall burn among them, and devour them, and there shall not be any remaining to the house of Esau, for Jehovah has spoken it.
19 Negev sakinləri Esav dağını, Yamaclı-düzənlikli bölgədə yaşayanlar Filiştlilərin bölgəsini, Yəhudalılar Efrayimlə Samariya torpaqlarını, Binyaminlilər isə Gileadı zəbt edəcək.
And those of the South shall possess the mount of Esau, and those of the lowland the Philistines. And they shall possess the field of Ephraim, and the field of Samaria, and Benjamin shall possess Gilead.
20 Xalahda olan İsrail sürgünləri Kənanın Sarfata qədər uzanan torpaqlarını, Sefaradda olan Yerusəlim sürgünləri Negev şəhərlərini zəbt edəcək.
And the captives of this host of the sons of Israel, who are among the Canaanites, shall possess even to Zarephath. And the captives of Jerusalem who are in Sepharad shall possess the cities of the South.
21 Xalqı qurtaranlar Sion dağına çıxıb Esav dağına hökm edəcək: Rəbb səltənət sürəcək».
And saviors shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau, and the kingdom shall be Jehovah's.
