1 Şuahlı Bildad belə cavab verdi:
Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,
2 «Bunları nə vaxta qədər deyəcəksən? Sözlərin sərt küləyə bənzər.
How long wilt thou speak these things? and how long shall the words of thy mouth be like a strong wind?
3 Allah ədaləti azdırarmı? Külli-İxtiyar salehi əyri edərmi?
Doth God pervert judgment? or doth the Almighty pervert justice?
4 Bəlkə oğulların Ona qarşı günah edib, O da üsyankarlıqlarının cəzasını verib.
If thy children have sinned against him, and he hath cast them away for their transgression;
5 Əgər cəhd göstərib Allahı axtarsaydın, Külli-İxtiyara yalvarsaydın,
If thou wouldest seek to God early, and make thy supplication to the Almighty;
6 Əgər təmiz, doğru olsaydın, O sənin üçün, həqiqətən, qalxardı, Sənə layiqincə bir məskən verərdi.
If thou wert pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.
7 Başlanğıcın kiçik olsa da, Sonun böyük olacaq.
Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.
8 Gəl indi əvvəlki nəsillərdən soruş, Ata-babaların sınağından keçənlərə yaxşı nəzər sal.
For enquire, I pray thee, of the former age, and prepare thyself to the search of their fathers:
9 Dünənki övladlarıq, heç nə bilmirik. Bu dünyada ömrümüz sadəcə bir kölgədir.
(For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow: )
10 Onlar izah edib sənə öyrətməzlərmi? Köksündəki sözləri dilə gətirməzlərmi?
Shall they not teach thee, and tell thee, and utter words out of their heart?
11 Bataqlıq olmayan yerdə qarğı bitərmi? Su olmayan yerdə qamış çıxarmı?
Can the rush grow without mire? can the flag grow without water?
12 Hələ yaşıl ikən qırılmadan, Hər otdan əvvəl onlar quruyar.
While it is still green, and not cut down, it withereth before any other herb.
13 Allahı unudan hər kəs axırda belə qalar, Allahsız insanın ümidi beləcə yox olar.
So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite’s hope shall perish:
14 Onun etibar etdiyi şeylər qırılar, Bel bağladığı sanki hörümçək toru olar.
Whose confidence shall be cut off, and whose trust shall be a spider’s web.
15 Evinə söykənərkən evi uçar, Evindən tutarkən dağılar.
He shall lean upon his house, but it shall not stand: he shall hold it fast, but it shall not endure.
16 Sanki bu allahsızlar günəşə baxar, yaşıllaşar, Pöhrələri bağçanın hər tərəfinə yayılar.
He is green before the sun, and his branch shooteth forth in his garden.
17 Rişələri daş qalağına dolaşar, Çınqılların arasında yer axtarar.
His roots are wrapped about the heap, and seeth the place of stones.
18 Amma yerindən qoparılarkən Yer inkar edərək deyər: “Səni görməmişəm”.
If he shall be destroyed from his place, then it shall deny him, saying, I have not seen thee.
19 Bax belə sevincinə son qoyular, Onun yerində başqa bitkilər bitər.
Behold, this is the joy of his way, and out of the earth shall others grow.
20 Allah kamil insanı Özündən kənar etməz, Pislik edənlərinsə əlindən tutmaz.
Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evildoers:
21 O sənin ağzını yenə gülüşlə, Dodaqlarını sevinc nidaları ilə doldurar.
Till he shall fill thy mouth with laughing, and thy lips with rejoicing.
22 Düşmənlərini rüsvayçılıq bürüyəcək, Pislərin çadırı məhv ediləcək».
They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame; and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to nought.
