1 Allah Yaquba dedi: «Qalxıb Bet-Elə get və orada qal. Qardaşın Esavın əlindən qaçanda sənə görünən Allaha orada bir qurbangah düzəlt».

Then said God unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there, —and make there an altar, to the GOD who appeared unto thee, when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother.

2 Yaqub ailəsinə və onunla olanların hamısına dedi: «Yanınızda olan özgə büt allahlarını atın və özünüzü pak edib paltarlarınızı dəyişin.

And Jacob said unto his house, and unto all who were with him, —Put away the gods of the alien which are in your midst, and purify yourselves, and change your garments;

3 Qalxıb Bet-Elə gedək. Dərdli günümdə mənə cavab verən və getdiyim yolda mənimlə olan Allaha orada bir qurbangah düzəldəcəyəm».

And let us arise, and go up to Beth-el, —that I may make there an altar to the GOD who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way that I went.

4 Onlar yanlarında olan bütün özgə büt allahlarını və qulaqlarındakı sırğaları Yaquba verdilər. Yaqub bunları Şekem yaxınlığında olan palıdın altında basdırdı.

So they gave unto Jacob all the gods of the alien which were in their hand, and the earrings which were in their ears, —and Jacob hid them under the oak, which was by Shechem.

5 Onlar yola düşdülər. Allah ətraf şəhərlərin sakinlərini dəhşətə salmışdı və buna görə də onlar Yaqubun oğullarını təqib etmədilər.

And they brake up, —and it came to pass that the terror of God, was on the cities which were round about them, so that they pursued not after the sons of Jacob.

6 Yaqub yanındakı bütün adamlarla birgə Kənan torpağında olan Luza, yəni Bet-Elə gəldi.

And Jacob came in towards Luz, which was in the land of Canaan, the same, is Beth-el, —he and all the people who were with him.

7 Burada bir qurbangah düzəldib o yerin adını El-Bet-El qoydu, çünki qardaşının əlindən qaçanda Allah Özünü orada Yaquba zahir etmişdi.

And he built there an altar, and called the place El-Beth-el, —because, there, God revealed himself unto him, when he fled from the face of his brother,

8 Rivqanın dayəsi Devora öldü. Onu Bet-Elin aşağısında olan palıdın altında basdırdılar. Oranın adını Allon-Bakut qoydular.

And Deborah, Rebekah’s nurse died, and was buried below Beth-el, under the oak, —so the name thereof was called, Allon-bacuth.

9 Yaqub Paddan-Aramdan qayıdanda Allah yenə Yaquba göründü və ona xeyir-dua verdi.

And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came in from Padan-aram, —and blessed him.

10 Allah ona dedi: «Sənin adın Yaqubdur. Artıq adın Yaqub çağırılmayacaq, bundan sonra adın İsrail olacaq». Allah onun adını İsrail qoydu

And God said to him, Thy name, is Jacob, —Thy name shall no longer be called Jacob But, Israel, shall be thy name. So he called his name, Israel.

11 və ona dedi: «Külli-İxtiyar Allah Mənəm. Qoy nəslin artıb çoxalsın. Səndən bir millət və çoxlu millət törəyəcək, sənin nəslindən çoxlu padşahlar çıxacaq.

And God said to him—I, am GOD Almighty! Be fruitful and multiply, A nation, and a multitude of nations shall spring from thee, —And, kings, from thy loins, shall come forth;

12 İbrahimə və İshaqa verdiyim torpağı sənə verəcəyəm. Səndən sonra da onu sənin nəslinə verəcəyəm».

And, the land which I gave to Abraham and to Isaac, To thee, will I give it, —And to thy seed after thee, will I give the land.

13 Allah Yaqubla danışdığı yerdə onun yanından yuxarı çəkildi.

And God went up from him at the place where he had spoken with him.

14 Yaqub Allahın onunla danışdığı yerdə bir sütun qoydu, üstünə içmə təqdimi səpdi və sonra üzərinə zeytun yağı tökdü.

And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he had spoken with him, a pillar of stone, —and he poured out thereon a drink-offering, and poured thereon oil.

15 Yaqub Allahın onunla danışdığı yerin adını Bet-El qoydu.

And Jacob called the name of the place where God had spoken with him, Beth-el.

16 Onlar Bet-Eldən yola düşdülər. Efrata çatana yaxın Rəhilə doğdu. Onun doğuşu ağır oldu.

Then brake they up from Beth-el, and it came to pass when there was yet a stretch of country, to enter into Ephrath, that Rachel was in childbirth, and had hard-labour in her child-birth.

17 Doğuş zamanı ağrı çəkəndə mamaça ona dedi: «Qorxma, yenə də bir oğlun oldu».

So it came to pass when she was in hard-labour in her child-birth, that the midwife said to her—Do not fear, for this also of thine, is, a son.

18 O, ölüm ayağında can verərkən oğlunun adını Ben-Oni qoydu, ancaq atası onun adını Binyamin qoydu.

And it came to pass when her soul was going forth—for she died, that she called his name Ben-oni, —but, his father, called him, Ben-jamin.

19 Rəhilə öldü və Efrata, yəni Bet-Lexemə gedən yolda basdırıldı.

So Rachel died, —and was buried on the way to Ephrath, the same, is Bethlehem.

20 Yaqub onun qəbri üstünə bir daş qoydu. O bu günə qədər Rəhilənin başdaşıdır.

And Jacob set up a pillar, over her grave, —the same, is—The Pillar of the Grave of Rachel until this day.

21 İsrail yola düşdü və Eder qülləsinin o biri tərəfində çadır qurdu.

Then Israel brake up, —and spread his tent at a distance from Migdal Eder.

22 İsrail bu ölkədə yaşayanda Ruven gedib atasının cariyəsi Bilha ilə yatdı. İsrail bunu eşitdi.

And it came to pass while Israel inhabited that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father’s concubine; and Israel heard of it. And so the Sons of Israel came to be Twelve.

23 Yaqubun on iki oğlu var idi. Leanın oğulları: Yaqubun ilk oğlu Ruven, Şimeon, Levi, Yəhuda, İssakar və Zevulun.

The sons of Leah, the firstborn of Jacob, Reuben, —And Simeon and Levi and Judah, and Issachar and Zebulon:

24 Rəhilənin oğulları: Yusif və Binyamin.

The sons of Rachel, Joseph and Benjamin:

25 Rəhilənin qulluqçusu Bilhanın oğulları: Dan və Naftali.

And the sons of Bilhah, handmaid of Rachel, Dan, and Naphtali:

26 Leanın qulluqçusu Zilpanın oğulları: Qad və Aşer. Yaqubun Paddan-Aramda doğulan oğulları bunlardır.

And the sons of Zilpah, handmaid of Leah, Gad and Asher: These, are the sons of Jacob, who were born to him, in Padan-aram.

27 Yaqub Qiryat-Arbada, yəni Xevronda olan Mamreyə, atası İshaqın yanına gəldi. İbrahim və İshaq Mamredə qərib idilər.

Then came Jacob unto Isaac his father, to Mamre, the city of Arba, —the same, is Hebron, where had sojourned Abraham and Isaac.

28 İshaq yüz səksən il ömür sürdü.

And the days of Isaac came to be—a hundred and eighty years.

29 O qocalıb yaşa dolaraq canını tapşırdı və ölüb əcdadlarına qoşuldu. Oğulları Esav və Yaqub onu basdırdılar.

And Isaac breathed his last, and died and was added unto his people, old, and satisfied with days, —and Esau and Jacob his sons buried him.
