1 Axşam iki mələk Sodoma gəldi. Lut şəhərin darvazası yanında oturmuşdu. O, mələkləri gördü, qalxıb onları qarşıladı və yerə qədər əyilib dedi:
And there came two angels to Sodom at evening; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;
2 «Ağalarım, qulunuzun evinə girib gecələyin və ayaqlarınızı yuyun. Səhər qalxıb yolunuza davam edərsiniz». Onlar dedilər: «Yox, biz gecəni şəhər meydanında keçirəcəyik».
And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn, I pray you, into your servant’s house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night.
3 Lut onları çox dilə tutdu, axırda onlar Lutla birgə onun evinə getdilər. Lut onları qonaq edib mayasız çörəklər bişirdi və onlar yedilər.
And he urged them greatly; and they turned in to him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.
4 Ancaq onlar yatmazdan əvvəl cavandan tutmuş qocaya qədər Sodom şəhərinin hər məhəlləsindən olan kişilər evi əhatəyə aldılar.
But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, surrounded the house, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:
5 Adamlar Lutu çağırıb ona dedilər: «Bu gecə sənin yanına gələn adamlar haradadır? Onları bizim yanımıza gətir ki, onlarla yaxınlıq edək».
And they called to Lot, and said to him, Where are the men who came in to thee this night? bring them out to us, that we may know them.
6 Lut bayıra – onların yanına çıxıb arxasınca qapını örtdü.
And Lot went out at the door to them, and shut the door after him,
7 O dedi: «Qardaşlarım, pislik etməyin.
And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.
8 Mənim ərə getməmiş iki qızım var. Qızlarımı sizin yanınıza gətirim, onlara nə istəyirsiniz, edin. Ancaq bu adamlara toxunmayın, çünki onlar mənim evimin qonaqlarıdır».
Behold now, I have two daughters who have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out to you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only to these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.
9 Kişilər qışqırıb dedilər: «Geri çəkil! Bu adam burada qəribdir, ancaq ağalıq edir. İndi səninlə onlardan da pis rəftar edəcəyik». Onlar Luta hücum edib qapını qırmaq üçün yaxınlaşdılar.
And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one man came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed hard upon the man, Lot, and came near to break the door.
10 Onda içəridəki mələklər əllərini uzadıb Lutu evin içinə – öz yanlarına saldılar və qapını bağladılar.
But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut the door.
11 Evin qapısı arxasında duran adamları kiçikdən tutmuş böyüyə qədər kor etdilər. Bu səbəbdən adamlar qapını tapa bilmədilər.
And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door.
12 Mələklər Luta dedilər: «Burada daha kimin var? Bu şəhərdə kürəkənlərin, oğulların, qızların – nəslindən olan hər kəs varsa, hamısını bu yerdən çıxart,
And the men said to Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whomever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place:
13 çünki biz bu yeri məhv edəcəyik. Bu xalqın əleyhinə qalxan fəryad Rəbbə gəlib çatmışdır, buna görə də Rəbb bizi göndərib ki, onu məhv edək».
For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them hast become great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it.
14 Lut gedib qızlarını almaq istəyən kürəkənlərinə dedi: «Qalxıb bu yerdən çıxın, çünki Rəbb şəhəri məhv edəcək». Ancaq kürəkənləri güman etdilər ki, o zarafat edir.
And Lot went out, and spoke to his sons in law, who married his daughters, and said, Arise, depart from this place; for the LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed to his sons in law as one that mocked.
15 Səhər açılanda mələklər Lutu tələsdirərək dedilər: «Qalx yanındakı arvadını və iki qızını götür get, yoxsa şəhərdəkilərin günahlarına görə məhv olacaqsan».
And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, who are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.
16 Lut yavaş tərpəndi. Rəbb ona mərhəmət etdiyinə görə həmin şəxslər onun, arvadının və iki qızının əlindən tutub şəhərdən kənara çıxartdılar.
And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the LORD being merciful to him: and they brought him forth, and set him outside of the city.
17 Onları çıxaran zaman mələklərdən biri dedi: «Öz canını qurtar, arxana baxma. Bu düzənliyin heç yerində qalma, dağa qalx, yoxsa həlak olarsan».
And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.
18 Lut onlara dedi: «Aman, ağam!
And Lot said to them, O, not so, my Lord:
19 İndi bu qulun sənin gözündə lütf tapdı və canımı xilas etməklə mənə göstərdiyin xeyirxahlığını çoxaltdın. Ancaq dağa çata bilmərəm, çünki bəla mənə də yetişə bilər və həlak olaram.
Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shown to me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil should take me, and I die:
20 Yaxınlıqda qaça biləcəyim kiçik bir şəhər var. Qoy oraya qaçıb canımı qurtarım. Axı o şəhər kiçikdir».
Behold now, this city is near to flee to, and it is a small one: O, let me escape there, ( is it not a small one?) and my soul shall live.
21 Mələklərdən biri Luta dedi: «Sənin xatirinə bunu da edərəm: dediyin şəhəri dağıtmaram.
And he said to him, See, I have accepted thee concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, for which thou hast spoken.
22 Tez ol, oraya qaç! Sən oraya çatmamış Mən bir şey etməyəcəyəm». Buna görə də o şəhər Soar adlandı.
Haste thee, escape there; for I cannot do any thing till thou hast come there. Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.
23 Günəş doğanda Lut Soara gəldi.
The sun had risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar.
24 Rəbb Sodom və Homorranın üzərinə göydən odlu kükürd yağdırdı,
Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;
25 bu şəhərləri, bütün düzənliyi, oranın bütün sakinlərini və torpaqda bitən hər şeyi məhv etdi.
And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.
26 Ancaq Lutun arvadı dönüb geriyə baxdı və duz sütununa çevrildi.
But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.
27 İbrahim səhər erkən qalxıb Rəbbin önündə durduğu yerə getdi.
And Abraham rose early in the morning to the place where he stood before the LORD:
28 Oradan Sodom və Homorraya, bütün düzənliyə baxdı. O, yerdən kürə tüstüsü kimi bir tüstü qalxdığını gördü.
And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace.
29 Allah düzənlikdəki şəhərləri məhv etdiyi zaman İbrahimi xatırladı, buna görə də Lutun yaşadığı şəhərləri dağıdarkən onu fəlakət içindən çıxartdı.
And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in which Lot dwelt.
30 Lut iki qızı ilə birgə Soardan çıxıb dağda yaşadı, çünki Soarda yaşamaqdan qorxurdu. O, iki qızı ilə bir mağarada qaldı.
And Lot went up from Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar: and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters.
31 Onun böyük qızı kiçiyinə dedi: «Atamız qocalıb və bu dünyada insan adətinə görə yanımıza girməyə bir kişi yoxdur.
And the firstborn said to the younger, Our father is old, and there is not a man on the earth to come in to us after the manner of all the earth:
32 Gəl atamıza şərab içirək və onunla yataq ki, öz atamızdan nəslimiz olsun».
Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.
33 Onlar o gecə atalarına şərab içirdilər. Böyük qız içəri girib atası ilə yatdı, atası isə onun nə vaxt yatıb-durduğunu bilmədi.
And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.
34 O biri gün böyük qız kiçiyinə dedi: «Mən dünən gecə atamla yatdım. Gəl bu gecə də ona şərab içirək və sən də onunla yat ki, öz atamızdan nəslimiz olsun».
And it came to pass on the next day, that the firstborn said to the younger, Behold, I lay last night with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.
35 O gecə yenə atalarına şərab içirdilər. Kiçik qız qalxıb onunla yatdı, atası isə onun nə vaxt yatıb-durduğunu bilmədi.
And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.
36 Lutun iki qızı beləcə atalarından hamilə oldu.
Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father.
37 Böyük qız bir oğul doğdu və onun adını Moav qoydu. O, indiki Moavlıların əcdadıdır.
And the firstborn bore a son, and called his name Moab: the same is the father of the Moabites to this day.
38 Kiçik qız da bir oğul doğdu və onun adını Ben-Ammi qoydu. O, indiki Ammonluların əcdadıdır.
And the younger, she also bore a son, and called his name Benammi: the same is the father of the children of Ammon to this day.
