1 Qul boyunduruğu altında olanların hamısı öz ağalarını tam hörmətə layiq saysınlar ki, Allahın adına və təliminə küfr söylənməsin.
Let all who are under the yoke as bond-servants count their own masters worthy of all honor, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed.
2 Ağaları iman etmiş olanlarsa qardaş olduğu üçün ağalarına xor baxmasınlar. Əksinə, onlara daha yaxşı qulluq etsinlər. Çünki bu qulluqdan faydalananlar sevdikləri imanlılardır. Bu şeyləri öyrət və nəsihət ver.
And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they who receive the benefit are faithful and beloved. These things teach and exhort.

If any one teacheth other doctrine, and assenteth not to sound words, the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness,
4 o adam qürurlanıb heç bir şey dərk etmir, lakin mübahisə və sözlərin mənası barədə dava yaratmaq xəstəliyinə tutulub. Bunların nəticəsi paxıllıq, münaqişə, böhtançılıq və bədgümanlıqdır;
he is puffed up with pride, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, from which cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
5 pozğun düşüncəli, həqiqətdən məhrum, möminliyi qazanc mənbəyi kimi zənn edən adamların fasiləsiz mübahisələridir.
incessant disputings of men corrupted in their minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that godliness is gain.
6 Əlindəki ilə kifayətlənərək mömin olmaqsa böyük qazanc mənbəyidir.
But godliness with contentment is great gain.
7 Çünki dünyaya heç bir şey gətirməmişik və oradan heç bir şey də götürə bilmərik.
For we brought nothing into the world; and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
8 Yeməyimiz və paltarımız varsa, bunlarla kifayətlənirik.
If we have, then, food and raiment, we will be therewith content.
9 Zəngin olmaq istəyənlərsə sınağa və tora düşərlər; insanı məhvə və həlaka aparan bir çox axmaq və ziyanverici ehtiraslara batırlar.
But they who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
10 Çünki hər cür pisliyin kökü pulpərəstlikdir. Kimlərsə bu həvəslə imandan azıb öz-özlərinə sanki bıçaq soxmuş kimi çox əzab verdilər.
For the love of money is a root of all evils; which some coveting have strayed away from the faith, and have pierced themselves through with many pangs.
11 Amma sən, ey Allah adamı, bu şeylərdən qaç. Salehliyin, möminliyin, imanın, məhəbbətin, dözümün, həlimliyin ardınca get.
But do thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
12 İman uğrunda yaxşı mübarizə apar. Əbədi həyatı bərk tut; bunun üçün çağırıldın və yaxşı əqidəni bir çox şahid qarşısında iqrar etdin. (aiōnios g166)
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on everlasting life, to which thou wast called, and didst profess the good profession before many witnesses. (aiōnios g166)
13 Hər şeyə həyat verən Allahın və Ponti Pilatın önündə öz yaxşı əqidəsinə şəhadət edən Məsih İsanın hüzurunda sənə tapşırıram ki,
I charge thee before God, who giveth life to all things, and before Christ Jesus, who under Pontius Pilate testified the good profession,
14 Rəbbimiz İsa Məsihin zühurunadək Allahın əmrinə ləkəsiz və nöqsansız riayət et.
that thou keep the commandment without spot, without reproach, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15 Allah Onu Öz vaxtında zahir edəcək. O, bəxtiyarlıq mənbəyi olan tək Hökmdar, şahların Şahı və ağaların Ağasıdır.
which in his own times he shall show, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords,
16 Yeganə ölməzliyə malik olan, əlçatmaz nurda yaşayan Odur. Onu insanlardan heç kəs görməyib və görə də bilməz. Ona izzət və əbədi qüdrət olsun. Amin. (aiōnios g166)
who only hath immortality, dwelling in light unapproachable, whom no man hath seen, or can see; to whom be honor and power everlasting. Amen. (aiōnios g166)
17 Bu dövrdə varlı olanlara buyur ki, təkəbbürlü olmasınlar və gəldi-gedər var-dövlətə yox, zövq almağımız üçün bizə hər şeyi bol-bol verən Allaha ümid bəsləsinlər. (aiōn g165)
Charge those who are rich in this world that they be not high-minded, nor place their hope in uncertain riches, but in God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; that they do good, (aiōn g165)
18 Xeyirxahlıq göstərsinlər, yaxşı işlərlə zəngin, əliaçıq olub öz malını başqaları ilə bölüşsünlər.
that they be rich in good works, liberal in imparting, willing to communicate,
19 Beləliklə, gələcək üçün özlərinə sağlam təməl olacaq bir xəzinə toplasınlar. Yəni həqiqi həyatı bərk tutsunlar.
laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on the true life.
20 Ey Timotey, sənə verilən əmanəti qoru! Allahsız boşboğazlıqdan və yalan yerə «bilik» adlanan şeyin zidd fikirlərindən uzaq dur.
O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding the profane babblings, and oppositions of the falsely-called knowledge;
21 Bəziləri bu biliyə sahib olduqlarını iddia edərək imandan azdılar. Sizə lütf olsun!
which some professing, have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee.
