1 ১ দায়ূদৰ পুত্র চলোমন, ইস্রায়েলৰ ৰজা আছিল। চলোমনৰ নীতিবচন।
These are the proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel,
2 ২ প্রজ্ঞা আৰু শিক্ষা লাভ কৰিবলৈ, সূক্ষ্মদৃষ্টিৰে বাক্য শিকোৱা,
for gaining wisdom and discipline, for comprehending words of insight,
3 ৩ সংশোধন গ্রহণ কৰা, তেতিয়া তুমি সত্য, ন্যায়পৰায়ণ, আৰু যথাৰ্থতাত জীয়াই থাকিব পাৰিবা।
and for receiving instruction in wise living and in righteousness, justice, and equity.
4 ৪ যিসকলক শিক্ষা দিয়া হোৱা নাই, তেওঁলোকক প্রজ্ঞা দান কৰা; আৰু যুৱক সকলক জ্ঞান আৰু বিবেচনা দিয়া।
To impart prudence to the simple and knowledge and discretion to the young,
5 ৫ জ্ঞানীলোকক শুনিবলৈ দিয়া আৰু তেওঁলোকক শিক্ষাত বৃদ্ধি হ’বলৈ দিয়া। আৰু তীক্ষ্নবুদ্ধি সম্পন্ন লোকক পথপ্রদৰ্শন কৰা;
let the wise listen and gain instruction, and the discerning acquire wise counsel
6 ৬ যাতে নীতিবচন আৰু বাণী, জ্ঞানীলোকৰ বাক্য আৰু তেওঁলোকৰ নিগূঢ়তত্ব বুজিব পাৰে।
by understanding the proverbs and parables, the sayings and riddles of the wise.
7 ৭ যিহোৱালৈ ভয় ৰখাই জ্ঞানৰ আৰম্ভণ, অজ্ঞানীলোকে প্রজ্ঞা আৰু অনুশাসন হেয়জ্ঞান কৰে।
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.
8 ৮ হে মোৰ পুত্র, তুমি তোমাৰ পিতৃৰ আদেশ শুনা, আৰু তোমাৰ মাতৃৰ শাসন অৱজ্ঞা নকৰিবা;
Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction, and do not forsake the teaching of your mother.
9 ৯ তেওঁলোক তোমাৰ মুৰৰ বাবে কৰুণাময় মালাৰ দৰে হ’ব, আৰু তোমাৰ ডিঙিত ওলমি থকা মালাৰ লকেটৰ দৰে হ’ব।
For they are a garland of grace on your head and a pendant around your neck.
10 ১০ হে মোৰ পুত্র, পাপীলোকে যদি তোমাক তেওঁলোকৰ পাপ কাৰ্যত প্রলোভিত কৰে, তেওঁলোকক অনুসৰণ নকৰিবা।
My son, if sinners entice you, do not yield to them.
11 ১১ তেওঁলোকে যদি কয়, “আমাৰ লগত আহাঁ, আমি ৰক্তপাত কৰিবলৈ খাপ দি থাকোঁ; বিনা কাৰণে নিৰ্দ্দোষী লোকক আক্রমণ কৰিবলৈ লুকাই থাকোঁহক।
If they say, “Come along, let us lie in wait for blood, let us ambush the innocent without cause,
12 ১২ আহাঁ আমি চিয়োলৰ দৰে স্বাস্থ্যৱান লোকসকলক জীয়াই জীয়াই গিলি পেলাওঁ, আৰু তেওঁলোকক গাতত পৰি থকা লোকৰ দৰে কৰোঁহক। (Sheol h7585)
let us swallow them alive like Sheol, and whole like those descending into the Pit. (Sheol h7585)
13 ১৩ আমি সকলো বিধৰ বহুমুল্য বস্তু বিচাৰিম, আৰু অন্য লোকৰ পৰা লুট কৰা বস্তুৰে আমাৰ ঘৰবোৰ পৰিপূৰ্ণ কৰিম।
We will find all manner of precious goods; we will fill our houses with plunder.
14 ১৪ তোমাৰ লুট কৰা বস্তু আমাৰ সৈতে একেলগ কৰা, আমাৰ সকলোৰে এখনেই মোনা হ’ব।”
Throw in your lot with us; let us all share one purse”—
15 ১৫ হে মোৰ পুত্র, তেওঁলোকৰ পথত তুমি নাযাবা; তেওঁলোকৰ পথত তোমাৰ খোজ নিদিবা।
my son, do not walk the road with them or set foot upon their path.
16 ১৬ তেওঁলোকৰ খোজ কুকৰ্মৰ ফাললৈ লৰ মাৰে; আৰু তেওঁলোকে ৰক্তপাত কৰিবলৈ খৰধৰ কৰে।
For their feet run to evil, and they are swift to shed blood.
17 ১৭ যি সময়ত চৰাইয়ে চাই থাকে; সেই সময়ত চৰাই ধৰিবলৈ জাল পতা বৃথা।
How futile it is to spread the net where any bird can see it!
18 ১৮ সেই লোকসকলে নিজকে নিজেই ৰক্তপাত কৰিবলৈ খাপ দি থাকে; তেওঁলোকে নিজেই নিজৰ বাবে ফাঁন্দ পাতে।
But they lie in wait for their own blood; they ambush their own lives.
19 ১৯ সেয়ে অন্যায়ভাৱে ধনী হোৱা প্রতিজন লোকৰ এনে গতি হয়; অন্যায়কাৰীয়ে ন্যায়ত থকা লোকসকলৰ জীৱন লয়।
Such is the fate of all who are greedy, whose unjust gain takes the lives of its possessors.
20 ২০ প্রজ্ঞাই পথত চিঞৰি ক্রন্দন কৰে, তেওঁ মুকলি ঠাইত উচ্চস্বৰে কথা কয়।
Wisdom calls out in the street, she lifts her voice in the square;
21 ২১ তেওঁ কোলাহলপূৰ্ণ ঘাই পথত ক্রন্দন কৰে, নগৰৰ প্রবেশ দুৱাৰত তেওঁ কয়,
in the main concourse she cries aloud, at the city gates she makes her speech:
22 ২২ “হে প্রজ্ঞা নথকা লোকসকল, কিমান দিন তোমালোকে নুবুজা কথাবোৰ ভাল পাই থাকিবা? হে নিন্দকসকল কিমান দিন তোমালোকে নিন্দা কৰি সন্তুষ্ট হবা? আৰু হে অজ্ঞানীসকল কিমান দিন জ্ঞানক ঘিণ কৰিবা?
“How long, O simple ones, will you love your simple ways? How long will scoffers delight in their scorn and fools hate knowledge?
23 ২৩ মোৰ অনুযোগলৈ মনোযোগ দিয়া; মই তোমালোকৰ ওপৰত মোৰ চিন্তাধাৰা বাকি দিম, মই মোৰ কথা তোমালোকক জানিবলৈ দিম।
If you had repented at my rebuke, then surely I would have poured out my spirit on you; I would have made my words known to you.
24 ২৪ মই মাতিলোঁ, আৰু তোমালোকে শুনিবলৈ অমান্তি হলা; মই মোৰ হাত মেলিলোঁ, কিন্তু কোনেও মনযোগ নিদিলা।
Because you refused my call, and no one took my outstretched hand,
25 ২৫ কিন্তু তোমালোকে মোৰ সকলো পৰামৰ্শ উপেক্ষা কৰিলা; আৰু মোৰ দোষাৰোপলৈ মনোযোগ নিদিলা।
because you neglected all my counsel, and wanted none of my correction,
26 ২৬ তোমালোকৰ দুৰ্যোগৰ সময়ত মই হাঁহিম, আৰু যেতিয়া তোমালোকলৈ সন্ত্রাস আহিব, তেতিয়া মই ঠাট্টা কৰিম।
in turn I will mock your calamity; I will sneer when terror strikes you,
27 ২৭ যেতিয়া সন্ত্রাস ভয়ঙ্কৰ ধুমুহাৰ দৰে তোমালোকলৈ আহিব, আৰু বা’মাৰলিৰ দৰে তোমালোকৰ ওপৰত দুৰ্যোগ ঘটিব, যেতিয়া বেদনা আৰু ক্লেশ তোমালোকৰ ওপৰলৈ আহিব,
when your dread comes like a storm, and your destruction like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish overwhelm you.
28 ২৮ তেতিয়া তেওঁলোকে মোৰ ওচৰত প্রাৰ্থনা কৰিব, কিন্তু মই উত্তৰ নিদিম, তেওঁলোকে নিদাৰুণভাবে মোক মাতিব, কিন্তু তেওঁলোকে মোক বিচাৰি নাপাব;
Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; they will earnestly seek me, but will not find me.
29 ২৯ কাৰণ তেওঁলোকে জ্ঞানক ঘিণ কৰে, আৰু যিহোৱাক তেওঁলোকে ভয় কৰিবলৈ ইচ্ছা নকৰে।
For they hated knowledge and chose not to fear the LORD.
30 ৩০ তেওঁলোকে মোৰ আদেশ অনুসৰণ নকৰে, আৰু তেওঁলোকে মোৰ সকলো শাসন প্রণালী হেয়জ্ঞান কৰে।
They accepted none of my counsel; they despised all my reproof.
31 ৩১ তেওঁলোকে তেওঁলোকৰ পথৰ ফল ভোগ কৰিব, তেওঁলোকে নিজৰ পৰিকল্পনাৰ ফলেৰে পৰিপূৰ্ণ হ’ব।
So they will eat the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.
32 ৩২ অশিক্ষিত সেই লোকসকল যেতিয়া বিপথে যায়, তেতিয়া তেওঁলোকৰ মৃত্যু হয়। মূৰ্খৰ নিৰপেক্ষতাই তেওঁলোকক ধ্বংস কৰিব।
For the waywardness of the simple will slay them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them.
33 ৩৩ কিন্তু যি জনে মোৰ কথা শুনে, তেওঁ নিৰাপদে থাকিব, আৰু দুৰ্যোগৰ ভয় নোহোৱাকৈ সুৰক্ষিত হৈ জিৰণী ল’ব।”
But whoever listens to me will dwell in safety, secure from the fear of evil.”
