< প্রবচন 5 >

1 ১ হে মোৰ পুত্র, মোৰ প্রজ্ঞালৈ মনোযোগ দিয়া; সাৱধানতাৰে মোৰ তাৎপর্যপূৰ্ণ কথা শুনা।
My son, attend to my wisdom, [and] bow thy ear to my understanding:
2 ২ সেয়ে তুমি সুবিবেচনা শিকিব পাৰিবা; আৰু তোমাৰ ওঁঠে জ্ঞান ৰক্ষা কৰিব পাৰিব।
That thou mayest regard discretion, and [that] thy lips may keep knowledge.
3 ৩ কিয়নো ব্যভিচাৰিণীৰ ওঁঠৰ পৰা টোপে টোপে মৌ বৰষে, আৰু তেওঁৰ মুখৰ কথা তেলতকৈয়ো মসৃণ।
For the lips of a strange woman drop [as] a honey-comb, and her mouth [is] smoother than oil:
4 ৪ কিন্তু শেষত তেওঁ চোকা তৰোৱালে কটাৰ দৰে কাটে। তিতা উদ্ভিদৰ দৰে হয়,
But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword.
5 ৫ তেওঁৰ ভৰি মৃত্যুলৈ নামি যায়, তেওঁ খোজ দিয়া সকলো পথ চিয়োললৈ যায়। (Sheol h7585)
Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell. (Sheol h7585)
6 ৬ তেওঁ জীৱন পথত কোনো চিন্তা নকৰে; তেওঁৰ খোজ আচৰ্যজনক, তেওঁ ক’লৈ গৈ আছে তেওঁ নাজানে।
Lest thou shouldst ponder the path of life, her ways are movable, [that] thou canst not know [them].
7 ৭ আৰু এতিয়া, হে মোৰ পুত্রসকল, মোৰ কথা শুনা, মোৰ মুখৰ বাক্য শুনাৰ পৰা বিমুখ নহবা।
Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth.
8 ৮ তেওঁৰ পৰা তোমাৰ পথ দূৰত ৰাখা; তেওঁৰ ঘৰৰ দুৱাৰৰ ওচৰলৈ নাযাবা।
Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:
9 ৯ নহ’লে তোমাৰ সন্মান অন্যলোকক এৰি দিব লাগিব, আৰু তোমাৰ জীৱনৰ বছৰবোৰ নিৰ্দয় ব্যক্তিক দিব লাগিব।
Lest thou give thy honor to others, and thy years to the cruel:
10 ১০ তোমাৰ সম্পত্তি অচিনাকী লোকে ভোগ কৰিব; আৰু তোমাৰ পৰিশ্ৰমৰ ফল অচিনাকী লোকৰ ঘৰলৈ যাব।
Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labors [be] in the house of a stranger;
11 ১১ আৰু তোমাৰ জীৱনৰ শেষত তুমি আৰ্তনাদ কৰিবা; তোমাৰ যেতিয়া শৰীৰ আৰু মাংস ক্ষয় হ’ব,
And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,
12 ১২ তুমি ক’বা, “মই কেনেকৈ শাসন প্রণালীক ঘিণ কৰিছিলোঁ। আৰু মোৰ অন্তৰে অনুযোগ হেয়জ্ঞান কৰিলে।
And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;
13 ১৩ মই মোৰ শিক্ষকসকলক মানিচলা নাছিলো, বা মোক দিয়া উপদেশ নুশুনিলোঁ।
And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined my ear to them that instructed me!
14 ১৪ সমাজ আৰু সমবেত লোকসকলৰ মাজত মই প্ৰায় সম্পূৰ্ণ ধ্বংস হলোঁ।
I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.
15 ১৫ তুমি তোমাৰ নিজৰ পুখুৰীৰ পানী খোৱা, আৰু তোমাৰ নিজৰ নাদৰ পৰা ওলাই থকা পানী পান কৰা।
Drink waters out of thy own cistern, and running waters out of thy own well.
16 ১৬ তোমাৰ ভুমুকবোৰ চাৰিওফালে প্লাৱিত হ’ব লাগে নে? আৰু তোমাৰ জুৰিৰ পানী জনসাধৰণৰ মাজলৈ বৈ যাব লাগে নে?
Let thy fountains be dispersed abroad, [and] rivers of waters in the streets.
17 ১৭ সেইবোৰ কেৱল তোমাৰ নিজৰ বাবেই হওক, আৰু তোমাৰ সৈতে থকা অচিনাকী লোকৰ বাবে নহওক।
Let them be only thy own, and not for strangers with thee.
18 ১৮ তোমাৰ ভুমুক আশীৰ্ব্বাদযুক্ত হওক; তুমি তোমাৰ যৌৱন কালৰ ভাৰ্যাত আনন্দ কৰা।
Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth.
19 ১৯ কাৰণ তেওঁ মৰমীয়াল হৰিণী আৰু লাবন্যময়ী মৃগ, তেওঁৰ স্তনৰ দ্বাৰাই সকলো সময়ত তুমি তৃপ্ত হোৱা, আৰু তেওঁৰ প্ৰেমতেই সদায় মত্ত থাকা।
[Let her be as] the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.
20 ২০ কিয়নো হে মোৰ পুত্র, তুমি ব্যভিচাৰিণীত কিয় মত্ত হবা? আৰু তুমি অচিনাকী মহিলাৰ বুকু কিয় সাৱটি ধৰিবা?
And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger?
21 ২১ কিয়নো মানুহে কৰা সকলো কাম যিহোৱাই চাই, আৰু তেওঁ তাৰ সকলো পথ পৰ্যবেক্ষণ কৰে।
For the ways of man [are] before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings.
22 ২২ এজন দুষ্ট লোক নিজৰ অপৰাধতে ধৰা পৰে; তেওঁক নিজৰ পাপৰূপ জৰীয়ে বান্ধি ৰাখে।
His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be held with the cords of his sins.
23 ২৩ নিয়মানুবৰ্ত্তিতাৰ অভাৱত তেওঁৰ মৃত্যু হয়; তেওঁৰ অজ্ঞানতাৰ কাৰণে তেওঁ বিপথে যায়।
He shall die without instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.
