প্রবচন 29

1 ১ যি মানুহে বাৰে বাৰে অনুযোগ পায়ো নিজৰ ডিঙি ঠৰ কৰে, সুস্থ হ’ব নোৱাৰাকৈ তেওঁ হঠাতে ভগ্ন হ’ব।

A man that hardeneth his necke when he is rebuked, shall suddenly be destroyed and can not be cured.

2 ২ সৎ কাৰ্য কৰা লোক যেতিয়া বৃদ্ধি পায়, তেতিয়া লোকসকল আনন্দ কৰে। কিন্তু যেতিয়া এজন দুষ্টলোক শাসনকৰ্ত্তা হয়, তেতিয়া লোকসকল বিৰক্তি পায়।

When the righteous are in authoritie, the people reioyce: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people sigh.

3 ৩ যি জনে প্ৰজ্ঞাক ভাল পায়, সেই জনে নিজৰ পিতৃক আনন্দিত কৰে; কিন্তু যি কোনোৱে বেশ্যাসকলৰ সৈতে সঙ্গী হয়, তেওঁ নিজৰ ধন-সম্পত্তি অপব্যয় কৰে।

A man that loueth wisdome, reioyceth his father: but he that feedeth harlots, wasteth his substance.

4 ৪ ৰজাই ন্যায় বিচাৰ কৰাৰ দ্বাৰাই দেশ প্রতিষ্ঠা কৰে; কিন্তু যিজনে উপহাৰ দাবী কৰে, সেই জনে দেশ নষ্ট কৰে।

A King by iudgement mainteineth ye countrey: but a man receiuing giftes, destroyeth it.

5 ৫ যি মানুহে নিজৰ চুবুৰীয়াক তোষামোদ কৰে, তেওঁ নিজৰ ভৰিলৈ জাল পাতে।

A man that flattereth his neighbour, spreadeth a net for his steps.

6 ৬ দুষ্ট লোক নিজৰ পাপৰ দ্বাৰাই ফান্দত পৰে; কিন্তু সৎ কাৰ্য কৰে, সেই জনে হৰ্ষিত মনেৰে গীত গায়।

In the transgression of an euill man is his snare: but the righteous doeth sing and reioyce.

7 ৭ ন্যায় কাৰ্য কৰা লোকে দৰিদ্র লোকৰ হৈ ওকালতি কৰে; কিন্তু দুষ্ট লোকে সেই জ্ঞানৰ কথা বুজি নাপায়।

The righteous knoweth the cause of the poore: but the wicked regardeth not knowledge.

8 ৮ নিন্দক লোকে নগৰত জুই জ্বলাই; কিন্তু যি সকল জ্ঞানী, তেওঁলোকে ক্ৰোধৰ পৰা আঁতৰি থাকে।

Scornefull men bring a citie into a snare: but wise men turne away wrath.

9 ৯ যেতিয়া অজ্ঞানী লোকৰ লগত জ্ঞানী লোকৰ বিবাদ হয়, তেতিয়া তেওঁ ক্রোধিত হৈ হাঁহে, আৰু কোনো শান্তি লাভ নকৰে।

If a wise man contend with a foolish man, whether he be angry or laugh, there is no rest.

10 ১০ নিৰ্দ্দোষী লোকক ৰক্তপাতকাৰী সকলে ঘিণ কৰে; কিন্তু সৰল লোকসকলৰ প্রাণ বিচাৰি ফুৰে।

Bloodie men hate him that is vpright: but the iust haue care of his soule.

11 ১১ অজ্ঞানী লোকে নিজৰ মনৰ সকলো ভাব প্ৰকাশ কৰে; কিন্তু জ্ঞানী লোকে নিজৰ মনৰ ভাব দমন কৰি শান্ত হৈ থাকে।

A foole powreth out all his minde: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterward.

12 ১২ যি শাসনকৰ্ত্তাই মিছা কথালৈ মনোযোগ দিয়ে, তেওঁৰ সকলো কৰ্মচাৰী দুষ্ট প্রকৃতিৰ হয়।

Of a prince that hearkeneth to lyes, all his seruants are wicked.

13 ১৩ দৰিদ্ৰ আৰু অত্যাচাৰী লোক দুয়ো একেলগ হয়; আৰু যিহোৱাই দুয়ো জনৰ চকুত পোহৰ দিয়ে।

The poore and the vsurer meete together, and the Lord lighteneth both their eyes.

14 ১৪ যদি ৰজাই সত্যতাৰে দৰিদ্ৰ লোকৰ বিচাৰ কৰে, তেতিয়া তেওঁৰ সিংহাসন চিৰকালৰ বাবে প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়।

A King that iudgeth the poore in trueth, his throne shalbe established for euer.

15 ১৫ চেকনী আৰু দোষাৰোপে প্ৰজ্ঞা দিয়ে; কিন্তু শাসন নকৰা সন্তানে নিজৰ মাতৃক লাজ দিয়ে।

The rodde and correction giue wisdome: but a childe set a libertie, maketh his mother ashamed.

16 ১৬ যেতিয়া দুষ্টলোক বৃদ্ধি হয়, তেতিয়া অপৰাধো বৃদ্ধি হয়; কিন্তু যি সকলে ন্যায় কাৰ্য কৰে, তেওঁলোকে তেওঁলোকৰ পতন দেখা পাই।

When the wicked are increased, transgression increaseth: but ye righteous shall see their fall.

17 ১৭ তোমাৰ সন্তানক অনুশাসন কৰা; তাতে তেওঁ তোমাক শান্তি দিব, আৰু তোমাৰ প্ৰাণক আনন্দিত কৰিব।

Correct thy sonne and he will giue thee rest, and will giue pleasures to thy soule.

18 ১৮ যি ঠাইত ভবিষ্য দৰ্শনৰ অভাৱ থাকে, তাত লোকসকল অবাধ্য হয়; কিন্তু যিজনে বিধান পালন কৰে, সেই জন সুখী হয়।

Where there is no vision, the people decay: but he that keepeth the Lawe, is blessed.

19 ১৯ কথাৰ দ্বাৰাই দাসক শুধৰাব নোৱাৰি; যদিও তেওঁ বুজি পায়, তথাপিও তেওঁ প্রতিক্রিয়া নকৰে।

A seruant will not be chastised with words: though he vnderstand, yet he will not answere.

20 ২০ দ্রুতগতিত কথা কোৱা লোকক চোৱা; তেওঁতকৈ অজ্ঞানী লোকৰ অধিক আশা আছে।

Seest thou a man hastie in his matters? there is more hope of a foole, then of him.

21 ২১ যি জনে নিজৰ দাসক যৌৱন কালৰে পৰা প্রশ্রয় দিয়ে, ইয়াৰ কাৰণে সেই দাসে শেষত সমস্যাত পেলায়।

He that delicately bringeth vp his seruant from youth, at length he will be euen as his sone.

22 ২২ ক্রোধি লোকে বিবাদ সৃষ্টি কৰে, আৰু ক্ৰোধেৰে পৰিচালিত লোকে অধিক পাপ কৰে।

An angrie man stirreth vp strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.

23 ২৩ মানুহৰ অহঙ্কাৰে তেওঁক নত কৰায়; কিন্তু যিজনৰ নম্ৰ গুণ থাকে, তেওঁক সন্মান দিয়া হ’ব।

The pride of a man shall bring him lowe: but the humble in spirit shall enioy glory.

24 ২৪ যি জনে চোৰৰ সৈতে অংশীদাৰ হয়, সেই জনে নিজৰ প্ৰাণক ঘিণ কৰে; শাও দিয়া শুনিও তেওঁ একো নকয়।

He that is partner with a thiefe, hateth his owne soule: he heareth cursing, and declareth it not.

25 ২৫ মানুহৰ ভয়েই তেওঁলৈ বিপদ আনে; কিন্তু যিজনে যিহোৱাত ভাৰসা কৰে, সেই জন নিৰাপদে থাকে।

The feare of man bringeth a snare: but he that trusteth in the Lord, shalbe exalted.

26 ২৬ অনেক লোকে শাসনকৰ্ত্তাৰ অনুগ্ৰহ বিচাৰে; কিন্তু তেওঁৰ বাবে যিহোৱাৰ পৰাহে ন্যায় আহে।

Many doe seeke the face of the ruler: but euery mans iudgement commeth from the Lord.

27 ২৭ অন্যায়কাৰী মানুহ ন্যায় কৰা লোকসকলৰ বাবে ঘৃণনীয়; কিন্তু ন্যায়পৰায়ণ লোকৰ পথ দুষ্ট লোকৰ বাবে ঘৃণনীয়।

A wicked man is abomination to the iust, and he that is vpright in his way, is abomination to the wicked.
