প্রবচন 10

1 ১ চলোমনৰ নীতি বাক্য। জ্ঞানী পুত্ৰই পিতৃক আনন্দিত কৰে; কিন্তু অজ্ঞানী পুত্ৰই নিজৰ মাতৃৰ মনত দুখ দিয়ে।

The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son [is] the heaviness of his mother.

2 ২ দুষ্টতাৰে অৰ্জন কৰা ধন-সম্পত্তিৰ কোনো মূল্য নাই; কিন্তু সত্যতাৰে কার্য কৰা জনক মৃত্যুৰ পৰা উদ্ধাৰ কৰে।

Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.

3 ৩ যিসকলে সত্যতাৰে কাৰ্য কৰে, যিহোৱাই তেওঁলোকক ভোকত থাকিব নিদিয়ে; কিন্তু তেওঁ দুষ্টবোৰৰ বাঞ্ছা পুৰ নকৰে।

The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.

4 ৪ এলেহুৱা হাতেৰে কাম কৰা মানুহ দৰিদ্ৰ হয়, কিন্তু পৰিশ্ৰমীজনৰ হাতে তেওঁক ধনৱান কৰে।

He becometh poor that dealeth [with] a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.

5 ৫ গ্রীষ্ম কালত বুদ্ধিমান পুত্ৰই শস্য চপায়; কিন্তু শস্য দোৱাৰ সময়ত টোপনিত থকা জন লজ্জাজনক পুত্ৰ।

He that gathereth in summer [is] a wise son: [but] he that sleepeth in harvest [is] a son that causeth shame.

6 ৬ সত্যতাৰে কাৰ্য কৰা জনৰ ওপৰত ঈশ্বৰৰ আশীৰ্ব্বাদ আহে; কিন্তু দুষ্টবোৰৰ মুখ অত্যাচাৰেৰে পৰিপূৰ্ণ।

Blessings [are] upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.

7 ৭ সত্যতাৰ কার্য কৰা কোনো লোকৰ কথা ভাবিলে আমি আনন্দিত হওঁ; কিন্তু দুষ্টবোৰৰ নাম লুপ্ত হ’ব।

The memory of the just [is] blessed: but the name of the wicked shall perish.

8 ৮ যিসকল লোক সচেতন, তেওঁলোকে আজ্ঞা পালন কৰে; কিন্তু অধিক কথা কোৱা মূৰ্খলোক ধ্বংসৰ পথত যায়।

The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.

9 ৯ যি জনে সিদ্ধতাৰূপ পথত খোজ দিয়ে, তেওঁ সুৰক্ষিত হৈ চলে, কিন্তু যিজনে নিজৰ পথ কুটিলতাৰে পূৰ্ণ কৰে, তেওঁক বিচাৰি উলিওৱা হ’ব।

He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.

10 ১০ চকুৰে ইঙ্গিত কৰা জনে দুখ দিয়ে; কিন্তু কথকি মুৰ্খলোক পতিত হয়।

He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow: but a prating fool shall fall.

11 ১১ সত্যতাৰে চলা জনৰ মুখ জীৱনৰ ভুমুক স্বৰূপ; কিন্তু দুষ্টবোৰৰ মুখে অত্যাচাৰ লুকুৱাই ৰাখে।

The mouth of a righteous [man is] a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.

12 ১২ ঘৃণাই বিবাদ জন্মায়; কিন্তু প্ৰেমে সকলো অপৰাধ ঢাকে।

Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.

13 ১৩ সুবিবেচক লোকৰ ওঁঠত প্ৰজ্ঞা পোৱা যায়; কিন্তু পিঠিত চেকনী জ্ঞানশূন্য লোকৰ বাবে হয়।

In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod [is] for the back of him that is void of understanding.

14 ১৪ জ্ঞানীলোকে জ্ঞান সংৰক্ষিত কৰে; কিন্তু অজ্ঞানৰ মুখে ধ্বংস আনে।

Wise [men] lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish [is] near destruction.

15 ১৫ ধনী লোকৰ ধন সম্পত্তিয়েই তাৰ দৃঢ় নগৰ; কিন্তু দৰিদ্ৰলোকৰ দৰিদ্ৰতাই তেওঁলোকৰ বিনাশৰ কাৰণ।

The rich man's wealth [is] his strong city: the destruction of the poor [is] their poverty.

16 ১৬ সত্যতাৰে কাৰ্য কৰা লোকৰ পাৰিশ্ৰমিকে জীৱন দিয়ে; দুষ্ট লোকৰ উপাৰ্জনৰ লাভে পাপলৈ ঠেলি দিয়ে।

The labor of the righteous [tendeth] to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.

17 ১৭ যিজনে নিয়মানুবৰ্তিতাত চলে, তেওঁ জীৱনৰ পথত চলে; কিন্তু যিজনে অনুযোগ অমান্য কৰে, তেওঁ বিপথে যায়।

He [is in] the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth.

18 ১৮ যিজনে ঘৃণা গোপনে ৰাখে, তেওঁ মিছলীয়া ওঁঠৰ লোক, আৰু যিজনে অপবাদ বিস্তাৰ কৰে, তেওঁ মূৰ্খ হয়।

He that hideth hatred [with] lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, [is] a fool.

19 ১৯ অধিক কথাত অপৰাধৰ অভাৱ নাই; কিন্তু যিজনে কথা কওঁতে সাৱধান হয়, তেওঁ জ্ঞানী।

In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that restraineth his lips [is] wise.

20 ২০ যিজনে সত্যতাৰ কথা কয়, তেওঁৰ জিভা শুদ্ধ ৰূপৰ দৰে; দুষ্টৰ হৃদয়ত সামান্য মূল্য থাকে।

The tongue of the just [is as] choice silver: the heart of the wicked [is] little worth.

21 ২১ সত্যতাৰে কাৰ্য কৰা লোকৰ ওঁঠে অনেকক প্ৰতিপালন কৰে; কিন্তু জ্ঞানশূন্যতাৰ বাবে মূৰ্খলোকৰ মৃত্যু হয়।

The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.

22 ২২ যিহোৱাৰ আশীৰ্ব্বাদে ধনৱান কৰে, আৰু তেওঁ তাৰ সৈতে কোনো দুখ যোগ নকৰে।

The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.

23 ২৩ দুষ্টতা মূৰ্খই খেলা খেল স্বৰূপ, কিন্তু প্রজ্ঞা সুবিবেচনা কৰা লোকৰ বাবে আনন্দদায়ক।

[It is] as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom.

24 ২৪ দুষ্ট লোকে যিহলৈ ভয় কৰে, সেয়ে তালৈ ঘটে; কিন্তু ধাৰ্মিকৰ বাঞ্ছা সিদ্ধ হয়।

The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.

25 ২৫ দুষ্ট লোক ধুমুহাৰ দৰে, সেয়ে অতিক্রম কৰি বিলুপ্ত হৈ যায়, কিন্তু যিসকলে সত্যতাৰ কাৰ্য কৰে, তেওঁলোক চিৰস্থায়ী ভিত্তিমুলস্বৰূপ।

As the whirlwind passeth, so [is] the wicked no [more]: but the righteous [is] an everlasting foundation.

26 ২৬ দাঁতৰ বাবে সিৰ্কা, আৰু চকুৰ বাবে ধোঁৱা যেনেকুৱা, পঠোৱা লোকসকলৰ বাবেও এলেহুৱা তেনেকুৱা।

As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so [is] the sluggard to them that send him.

27 ২৭ যিহোৱালৈ থকা ভয়ে আয়ুস বৃদ্ধি কৰে; কিন্তু দুষ্টবোৰৰ বছৰবোৰ কমি যাব।

The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.

28 ২৮ সৎ কাৰ্য কৰা জনৰ আশা আনন্দ জনক; কিন্তু দুষ্টবোৰৰ বছৰবোৰ কম হ’ব।

The hope of the righteous [shall be] gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.

29 ২৯ যিসকল লোকে পথত চলে, তেওঁলোকক যিহোৱাই ৰক্ষা কৰে। কিন্তু দুষ্টলোকৰ বাবে সেয়ে সৰ্ব্বনাশ স্বৰূপ।

The way of the LORD [is] strength to the upright: but destruction [shall be] to the workers of iniquity.

30 ৩০ যিসকলে সৎ কাৰ্য কৰে, তেওঁলোক কেতিয়াও লৰচৰ নহব; কিন্তু দুষ্টলোক দেশত অৱশিষ্ট নাথাকিব।

The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.

31 ৩১ যিসকল লোকে সৎ কাৰ্য কৰে, তেওঁলোকৰ মুখৰ পৰা প্রজ্ঞা ওলায়; কিন্তু উচ্ছৃঙ্খল জিভা কাটি পেলোৱা হ’ব।

The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom: but the froward tongue shall be cut out.

32 ৩২ যিসকল লোক সকলৰ ওঁঠে সৎ কাৰ্য কৰে, তেওঁলোকৰ ওঁঠে গ্ৰহণীয় কি, সেই বিষয়ে জানে; কিন্তু দুষ্টলোকৰ মুখে উচ্ছৃঙ্খলতা কি সেই বিষয়ে জানে।

The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked [speaketh] frowardness.
