মথি 5
1 ১ তেতিয়া যীচুৱে বহু লোকৰ ভিৰ দেখা পাই পাহাৰৰ ওপৰলৈ গ’ল আৰু তেওঁ তাত বহিল। তেতিয়া তেওঁৰ শিষ্য সকল তেওঁৰ ওচৰলৈ আহিল।
And seeing the multitudes, he ascended a mountain: and when he was seated, his disciples came to him.
And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
Blessed [are] the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed [are] they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Blessed [are] the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed [are] they who hunger and thirst for righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Blessed [are] the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed [are] the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Blessed [are] the peace-makers: for they shall be called children of God.
Blessed [are] they who are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 ১১ যেতিয়া লোক সকলে মোৰ কাৰণে তোমালোকক নিন্দা আৰু তাড়না কৰিব, আৰু তোমালোকৰ অহিতে মিছাকৈ সকলো প্ৰকাৰৰ কু-কথা কব, তেতিয়া তোমালোক ধন্য।
Blessed are ye when men shall revile you, and persecute [you], and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 ১২ আনন্দ কৰা আৰু উল্লাসিত হোৱা; কিয়নো স্বৰ্গত তোমালোকৰ পুৰস্কাৰ অধিক আছে। কাৰণ তোমালোকৰ পূৰ্বতে যি ভাববাদী সকল আছিল, তেওঁলোককো লোক সকলে সেইদৰে তাড়না কৰিছিল।
Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great [is] your reward in heaven: for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
13 ১৩ তোমালোক পৃথিৱীৰ লোণ; কিন্তু লোণৰ সোৱাদ যদি হেৰাই যায়, তেনেহলে সেই লোণ কিহেৰে লুণীয়া কৰা যাব? তেতিয়া সেইবোৰ পুণৰ কোনো কামৰ নহব, কেৱল বাহিৰলৈ পেলোৱাৰ আৰু মানুহৰ গচকাৰ যোগ্যহে হ’ব।
Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt hath lost its savor, with what shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot by men.
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a close vessel, but on a candlestick: and it giveth light to all that are in the house.
16 ১৬ এইদৰে তোমালোকৰ পোহৰ মানুহৰ আগত প্ৰকাশিত হওক; তাতে তেওঁলোকে তোমালোকৰ ভাল কৰ্ম দেখি, স্বৰ্গত থকা তোমালোকৰ পিতৃৰ স্তুতি কৰিব।
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.
18 ১৮ কিয়নো মই তোমালোকক স্বৰূপকৈ কওঁ, স্বৰ্গ আৰু পৃথিৱী লুপ্ত নহয় মানে আৰু সকলো সিদ্ধ নোহোৱালৈকে, বিধানৰ এটি ইকাৰ বা এক বিন্দুও কোনোৰূপে লুপ্ত নহব।
For verily I say to you, Till heaven and earth shall pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 ১৯ এই হেতুকে যি কোনোৱে এই আজ্ঞাবোৰৰ মাজৰ সৰু এটিও উলঙ্ঘন কৰে আৰু আন লোকক সেইদৰে কৰিবলৈ শিকায়, তেওঁ স্বৰ্গৰাজ্যত সকলোতকৈ সৰু বুলি গণ্য হব; কিন্তু যি কোনোৱে সেইবোৰ পালন কৰে আৰু সেইদৰে শিকায়, তেওঁ স্বৰ্গৰাজ্যত মহান বুলি গণ্য হ’ব।
Whoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whoever shall do, and teach [them], the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20 ২০ কিয়নো মই তোমালোকক কওঁ, তোমালোকৰ ধাৰ্মিকতা, ধর্মীয় অধ্যাপক আৰু ফৰীচী সকলতকৈ অধিক নহলে তোমালোকে কোনো প্ৰকাৰে স্বৰ্গৰাজ্যত প্রৱেশ কৰিব নোৱাৰিবা।
For I say to you, That except your righteousness shall exceed [the righteousness] of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
21 ২১ তোমালোকে শুনিছা, পূর্বকালৰ লোক সকলৰ আগত ইয়াকে কোৱা হৈছিল যে তুমি নৰ-বধ নকৰিবাআৰু যি কোনোৱে নৰ-বধ কৰে, সি সোধ-বিচাৰত দণ্ডৰ পাত্ৰ হব।
Ye have heard that it was said to them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whoever shall kill, shall be in danger of the judgment:
22 ২২ কিন্তু মই তোমালোকক কওঁ, যি কোনোৱে তেওঁৰ ভায়েকৰওপৰত খং কৰে, তেওঁ সোধ-বিচাৰত দণ্ডৰ পাত্ৰ হ’ব আৰু যি কোনোৱে তেওঁৰ ভায়েকক ‘তুমি অপদার্থ’ এইদৰে কয়, তেওঁ মহাসভাত দণ্ডৰ পাত্ৰ হ’ব আৰু যি কোনোৱে নিজ ভাইক ‘তুমি অবাধ্য’ বুলি কয়, তেওঁ অগ্নিময় নৰকৰ দণ্ডৰ পাত্ৰ হ’ব। (Geenna g1067)
But I say to you, That whoever is angry with his brother without a cause, shall be in danger of the judgment: and whoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell-fire. (Geenna g1067)
23 ২৩ এই হেতুকে বেদিত তোমাৰ নৈবেদ্য উৎসৰ্গ কৰোঁতে, তোমাৰ বিৰুদ্ধে তোমাৰ ভায়েৰাৰ কোনো কথা আছে বুলি যদি তোমাৰ মনত পৰে,
Therefore if thou shalt bring thy gift to the altar, and there remember that thy brother hath aught against thee;
24 ২৪ তেনেহলে তুমি বেদিৰ আগত তোমাৰ নৈবেদ্য ৰাখি থৈ প্রথমে তোমাৰ ভায়েৰাৰ সৈতে মিলন হোৱা আৰু তাৰ পাছত পুণৰ আহি নৈবেদ্য উৎসৰ্গ কৰা।
Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
25 ২৫ তোমাৰ গুচৰিয়াৰ সৈতে তুমি আদালতৰ চোতাললৈ গৈ থাকোতেই বেগাই মিলন হোৱা; অন্যথা জানোছা তোমাৰ গুচৰিয়াই তোমাক বিচাৰকৰ হাতত শোধাই দিয়ে; বিচাৰকেও তোমাক টেকেলাৰ হাতত শোধাই দিয়ে আৰু তেতিয়া তোমাক কাৰাগাৰত ভৰাই থোৱা হব।
Agree with thy adversary quickly, while thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
26 ২৬ মই তোমালোকক স্বৰূপকৈ কওঁ, যেতিয়ালৈকে দিবলগীয়া ধনৰ শেষ পইচাটি পর্যন্ত আদায় নিদিয়া, তেতিয়ালৈকে তোমালোকে তাৰ পৰা কোনোমতে ওলাব নোৱাৰিবা।
Verily, I say to thee, thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.
Ye have heard that it was said to them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
28 ২৮ কিন্তু মই তোমালোকক কওঁ, যি কোনোৱে মহিলাৰ ফালে কাম ভাৱে চায়, সি তেতিয়াই মনতে তাইৰে সৈতে ব্যভিচাৰ কৰিলে।
But I say to you, That whoever looketh on a woman to lust after her, hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
29 ২৯ যদি তোমাৰ সোঁ চকুৱে তোমাৰ বিঘিনি জন্মায়, তেনেহলে তাক কাঢ়ি তোমাৰ পৰা উলিয়াই পেলাই দিয়া; কিয়নো তোমাৰ গোটেই শৰীৰ নৰকত পেলোৱা হোৱাতকৈ, এটা অঙ্গ নষ্ট হোৱাই তোমাৰ পক্ষে ভাল। (Geenna g1067)
And if thy right eye shall cause thee to sin, pluck it out, and cast [it] from thee: for [it] is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not [that] thy whole body should be cast into hell. (Geenna g1067)
30 ৩০ যদি তোমাৰ সোঁ হাতে তোমাৰ বিঘিনি জন্মায়, তেনেহলে তাকো কাটি তোমাৰ পৰা পেলাই দিয়া; কিয়নো তোমাৰ গোটেই শৰীৰ নৰকলৈ যোৱাতকৈ এটা অঙ্গ নষ্ট হোৱাই তোমাৰ ভাল।” (Geenna g1067)
And if thy right hand shall cause thee to sin, cut it off, and cast [it] from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not [that] thy whole body should be cast into hell. (Geenna g1067)
It hath been said, Whoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:
32 ৩২ কিম্তু মই তোমালোকক কওঁ যে, একমাত্র ব্যভিচাৰৰ দোষত বাহিৰে কোনোৱে যদি আন কাৰণত নিজৰ ভার্যাক ত্যাগ কৰে, তেনেহলে তেওঁ তেওঁক ব্যভিচাৰিণী কৰায় আৰু যি কোনোৱে সেই ত্যাগ কৰা মহিলাক বিয়া কৰাই তেৱোঁ ব্যভিচাৰ কৰে।
But I say to you, That whoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of lewdness, causeth her to commit adultery: and whoever shall marry her that is divorced, committeth adultery.
33 ৩৩ পুনৰায় তোমালোকে শুনিছা, পূর্বকালত এই কথা কোৱা হৈছিল যে ‘তুমি মিছা শপত নাখাবা, বৰং প্ৰভুৰ উদ্দেশ্যে কৰা তোমাৰ শপত পালন কৰিবা’।
Again, ye have heard that it hath been said to them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform to the Lord thy oaths:
34 ৩৪ কিন্তু মই কওঁ, তোমালোকে কোনো শপতেই নাখাবা; স্বৰ্গৰ নামত শপত নাখাবা, কাৰণ সেয়ে ঈশ্বৰৰ সিংহাসন,
But I say to you, Swear not at all: neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:
35 ৩৫ আৰু পৃথিৱীৰ নামতো শপত নাখাবা, কিয়নো সেয়ে তেওঁৰ ভৰি-পীৰা; যিৰূচালেমৰ নামেৰেও নহয়, কিয়নো সেয়া মহান ৰজাৰ নগৰ৷
Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King,
Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.
37 ৩৭ কিন্তু তোমালোকৰ কথা ‘হয়’ যদি হয় বা ‘নহয়’ যদি নহয় হওক। ইয়াতকৈ অধিক যি, সেয়া চয়তানৰ পৰাহে হয়।
But let your communication be, Yea, yea, Nay, nay: for whatever [is] more than these cometh of evil.
Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.
39 ৩৯ কিন্তু মই তোমালোকক কওঁ, তোমালোকে দুষ্ট লোক সকলৰ প্ৰতিৰোধ নকৰিবা; বৰং কোনোৱে যদি তোমাৰ সোঁ গালত চৰ মাৰে, তেনেহলে তেওঁলৈ আন খন গালো পাতি দিবা।
But I say to you, That ye resist not evil: but whoever shall strike thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
40 ৪০ কোনোৱে যদি আদালতত তোমাৰ ওপৰত গোচৰ তৰি তোমাৰ চোলা ল’ব খোজে, তেনেহলে তেওঁক তোমাৰ চাদৰখনো এৰি দিবা।
And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have [thy] cloke also.
And whoever shall constrain thee [to go] one mile, go with him two.
Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee, turn not thou away.
Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thy enemy:
44 ৪৪ কিন্তু মই তোমালোকক কওঁ, তোমালোকৰ শত্ৰুক প্ৰেম কৰিবা আৰু তোমালোকক তাড়না কৰা সকলৰ বাবে প্ৰাৰ্থনা কৰিবা,
But I say to you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them who despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45 ৪৫ তেতিয়াহে তোমালোক স্বৰ্গত থকা পিতৃৰ সন্তান হ’ব পাৰিবা। কিয়নো তেওঁ দুষ্ট আৰু সৎ দুয়োৰো ওপৰত সূৰ্য উদয় হ’বলৈ দিয়ে আৰু ধাৰ্মিক অথবা অধাৰ্মিক এই দুয়োৰো ওপৰত বৰষুণ বৰষায়।
That ye may be the children of your Father who [is] in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
46 ৪৬ কিয়নো যি মানুহে তোমালোকক প্ৰেম কৰে, তোমালোকে যদি কেৱল তেওঁলোককে প্ৰেম কৰা, তেনেহলে কি পুৰস্কাৰ পাবা? কৰ সংগ্রহকাৰী সকলেও জানো তাকে নকৰে?
For if ye love them who love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
47 ৪৭ তোমালোকে যদি কেৱল তোমালোকৰ ভাই সকলকে শুভেচ্ছা জনোৱা, তেনেহলে আনতকৈ অধিক বেচি কি কৰিলা? অনা-ইহুদী সকলেও জানো তাকে নকৰে?
And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more [than others]? do not even the publicans so?
Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father who is in heaven is perfect.
