1 ১ তিবিৰিয়া চীজাৰৰ ৰাজত্বৰ পোন্ধৰ বছৰত যিহূদীয়াৰ ৰাজ্যপাল আছিল পন্তীয় পীলাত। সেই সময়ত হেৰোদ আছিল গালীল প্ৰদেশৰ ৰজা; আৰু তেওঁৰ ভায়েক ফিলিপ আছিল যিতূৰিয়া আৰু ত্ৰাখোনীতিয়া প্ৰদেশৰ ৰজা; লুচাণিয় আছিল অবিলীনী প্ৰদেশৰ ৰজা।
Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius, Pontius Pilate being procurator of Judea, Herod tetrarch of Galilee, Philip, his brother, tetrarch of Iturea, and the province of Trachonitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene;
2 ২ হানন আৰু কায়াফা আছিল ইহুদী সকলৰ মহা-পুৰোহিত। সেই সময়তে অৰণ্যত জখৰিয়াৰ পুতেক যোহনলৈ ঈশ্বৰৰ বাক্য আহিল।
in the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John the son of Zacharias, in the wilderness.
3 ৩ তেতিয়া যোহনে যৰ্দ্দন নদীৰ চৌদিশৰ সকলো প্রান্তলৈ গৈ প্রচাৰ কৰিবলৈ ধৰিলে, যাতে লোক সকলে পাপৰ পৰা ক্ষমা লাভ পাবৰ কাৰণে মন-পালটন কৰে আৰু বাপ্তিস্ম লয়।
And he went through all the country along the Jordan, publishing the immersion of reformation for the remission of sins.
4 ৪ ভাৱবাদী যিচয়াৰ পুস্তকত যেনেকৈ লিখা আছে: “মৰুপ্রান্তত এজনৰ কন্ঠস্বৰ শুনা গৈছে, তোমালোকে প্ৰভুৰ পথ যুগুত কৰা, তেওঁৰ বাট পোন কৰা।
As it is written in the book of the prophet Isaiah, "The voice of one proclaiming in the wilderness, Prepare a way for the Lord, make for him a straight passage.
5 ৫ আটাই উপত্যকা পূৰ কৰা হব, প্রতিটো পর্বত আৰু পাহাৰ সমান কৰা হব, একা-বেকা পথবোৰ পোন হব, খলা-বমা পথবোৰ সমান কৰা হব।
Let every valley be filled, every mountain and hill be levelled; let the crooked roads be made straight, and the rough ways smooth,
that all flesh may see the salvation of God."
7 ৭ তাতে বাপ্তিস্ম লবৰ কাৰণে অনেক লোক যোহনৰ ওচৰলৈ আহিব ধৰিলে। তেওঁ তেওঁলোকক ক’লে, “হে দুষ্ট সৰ্পৰ বংশধৰ! ঈশ্বৰৰ যি ক্ৰোধ আহি আছে তাৰ পৰা পলাবৰ বাবে কোনে আপোনালোকক সতর্ক কৰি দিলে?
Then said he to the multitudes, who flocked out to be immersed by him, Offspring of vipers, who has prompted you to flee from the impending vengeance?
8 ৮ আপোনালোকে যে মন-পালটন কৰিছে, তাৰ উপযুক্ত ফলেৰে ফলবান হওক। নিজৰ মনতে নাভাৱিব যে ‘অব্রাহাম আমাৰ পিতৃপুৰুষ’। কিয়নো মই আপোনালোকক কওঁ যে, এই শিলবোৰৰ পৰাও ঈশ্বৰে অব্রাহামৰ কাৰণে সন্তান উৎপন্ন কৰিব পাৰে।
Produce, then, the proper fruits of reformation; and say not within yourselves, We have Abraham for a father; for I assure you, that of these stones God can raise children to Abraham.
And even now the ax lies at the root of the trees. Every tree, therefore, which produces not good fruit, is cut down, and thrown into the fire.
Upon this, the multitude asked him, What must we do then?
11 ১১ তেওঁ উত্তৰ দি তেওঁলোকক ক’লে, “যদি কাৰোবাৰ দুটা চোলা আছে, তেনেহলে যাৰ নাই তেওঁক এটা চোলা দিয়ক আৰু যাৰ খোৱা বস্তু আছে, তেৱোঁ সেইদৰে কৰক।”
He answered, Let him who has two coats, impart to him who has none; and let him who has victuals do the same.
12 ১২ তেতিয়া কেইজনমান কৰ সংগ্রহকাৰীয়ো বাপ্তিস্ম লবৰ বাবে আহিল। তেওঁলোকে তেওঁক সুধিলে, “হে গুৰু, আমি কি কৰিব লাগে?”
There came also publicans to be immersed, who said, Rabbi, what must we do?
He answered, Exact no more than what is appointed you.
14 ১৪ কেইজনমান সৈনিকেও তেওঁক সুধিলে, “আৰু আমাৰ বিষয়েনো কি হ’ব? আমি কি কৰিম?” তেওঁ তেওঁলোকক ক’লে, “বলেৰে কাৰো পৰা ধন নলব। কাকো মিছাকৈ দোষাৰোপ নকৰিব। আপোনালোকৰ যি বেতন তাতে সন্তুষ্ট হৈ থাকিব।”
Soldiers likewise asked him, And what must we do? He answered, Injure no man, either by violence, or false accusation, and be content with your allowance.
15 ১৫ লোক সকলে যিহেতু অতি আগ্রহেৰে খ্রীষ্টৰ আগমণলৈ অপেক্ষা কৰি আছিল, সেয়ে এই যোহনেই তেওঁলোকৰ সেই প্রত্যাশিত অভিষিক্ত খ্ৰীষ্ট জন হয় নে নহয় সেই বিষয়ে তেওঁলোকে মনে মনে বিবেচনা কৰি আছিল।
As the people were in suspense concerning John, every man imagining within himself that he might be the Messiah,
16 ১৬ যোহনে উত্তৰ দি সকলোকে কলে, “মই আপোনালোকক পানীতহে বাপ্তিস্ম দিওঁ, কিন্তু মোতকৈ অধিক শক্তিমান এজন আহিছে; মই তেওঁৰ পাদুকাৰ ফিটাৰ বান্ধ খুলিবৰো যোগ্য নহওঁ; তেৱেঁই আপোনালোকক পবিত্ৰ আত্মাত আৰু জুইত বাপ্তিস্ম দিব।
John addressed them all, saying, I, indeed, immerse in water; but one mightier than I comes, whose shoe-latchet I am not worthy to untie; he will immerse you in the Holy Spirit and fire;
17 ১৭ শস্যৰ মৰণা মৰা চোতাল ভালকৈ পৰিষ্কাৰ কৰিবলৈ আৰু ধান নিজৰ ভঁৰালত চপাই থবলৈ তেওঁৰ কুলা তেওঁৰ হাতত আছে আৰু যি জুই কেতিয়াও নুনুমায়, তাত তেওঁ ঘুলা পুৰি পেলাব।”
his winnowing shovel is in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his grain; he will gather the wheat into his granary, and consume the chaff in unquenchable fire.
And with many other exhortations, he published the good tidings to the people.
19 ১৯ ৰজা হেৰোদে নিজৰ ভায়েকৰ ভার্যা হেৰোদিয়াক বিয়া কৰোঁৱা আৰু তেওঁ কৰা অন্যান্য কু-কর্মবোৰৰ কাৰণে যোহনে হেৰোদকো তিৰস্কাৰ কৰিলে।
But Herod, the tetrarch, having been reproved by him, on account of Herodias, his brother's wife, and for all the crimes which Herod had committed,
added this to the number, that he confined John in prison.
21 ২১ সকলো মানুহে যেতিয়া যোহনৰ দ্বাৰা বাপ্তিস্ম লৈ আছিল, যীচুয়েও বাপ্তিস্ম ললে। পাছত তেওঁ যেতিয়া প্ৰাৰ্থনা কৰিলে, তেতিয়া আকাশৰ দুৱাৰ মুকলি হ’ল।
Now when John immersed all the people, Jesus was likewise immersed; and while he prayed, the heaven was opened,
22 ২২ সেই সময়ত পবিত্ৰ আত্মা এক কপৌৰ আকৃতিৰে তেওঁৰ ওপৰলৈ নামি আহিল আৰু স্বৰ্গৰ পৰা এই মাত শুনা গ’ল, “তুমি মোৰ প্ৰিয় পুত্ৰ, তোমাত মই পৰম সন্তুষ্ট।”
and the Holy Spirit descended upon him in a bodily form, like a dove; and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my Son, the beloved; in thee I delight.
23 ২৩ প্রায় ত্রিশ বছৰ বয়সত যীচুৱে নিজৰ কার্য আৰম্ভ কৰিলে। লোক সকলৰ ধাৰণাত তেওঁ যোচেফৰ পুত্ৰ; যোচেফ এলিৰ পুত্র;
Now Jesus was himself about thirty years in subjection, being (as was supposed) a son of Joseph, son of Heli,
son of Matthat, son of Levi, son of Melchi, son of Janna, son of Joseph,
son of Mattathias, son of Amos, son of Nahum, son of Esli, son of Naggai,
son of Maath, son of Mattathias, son of Shimei, son of Joseph, son of Judah,
son of Joanna, son of Reza, son of Zerubabel, son of Salathiel, son of Neri,
son of Melchi, son of Addi, son of Cosam, son of Elmodam, son of Er,
son of Joses, son of Eliezer, son of Jorim, son of Matthat, son of Levi,
son of Simeon, son of Judah, son of Joseph, son of Jonan, son of Eliakim,
son of Meleah, son of Mainan, son of Mattatha, son of Nathan, son of David,
son of Jesse, son of Obed, son of Boaz, son of Salmon, son of Nahshon,
33 ৩৩ নহচোন অম্মীনাদবৰ পুত্র; অম্মীনাদব অদমীন; অদমীন অর্ণীৰ পুত্ৰ; অর্ণী হিষ্ৰোণৰ; হিষ্রোণ পেৰচৰ; পেৰচ যিহূদাৰ পুত্ৰ;
son of Aminadab, son of Ram, son of Hezron, son of Pharez, son of Judah,
son of Jacob, son of Isaac, son of Abraham, son of Terah, son of Nahor,
son of Serug, son of Ragau, son of Peleg, son of Eber, son of Salah,
son of Cainan, son of Arphaxad, son of Shem, son of Noah, son of Lamech,
son of Methuselah, son of Enoch, son of Jared, son of Mehalaleel, son of Cainan,
son of Enos, son of Seth, son of Adam, son of God.
