Then Jonah prayed to Jehovah from the belly of the fish,
2 ২ তেওঁ ক’লে, “মই যিহোৱাক মোৰ কষ্টৰ বিষয়ে প্ৰাৰ্থনাত ক’লো; তাতে তেওঁ মোক উত্তৰ দিলে। চিয়োলৰ ভিতৰৰ পৰা মই সহায়ৰ কাৰণে কাতৰোক্তি কৰিলোঁ আৰু আপুনি মোৰ স্বৰ শুনিলে। (Sheol h7585)
and said: — I cried by reason of my distress to Jehovah, And he heard me: Out of the depth of the under-world I cried, And thou didst hear my voice. (Sheol h7585)
3 ৩ আপুনি মোক গভীৰ জলত সাগৰৰ মাজত পেলালে আৰু মোক সাগৰৰ সোঁতে বেৰি ধৰিলে, আপোনাৰ আটাই ঢৌ আৰু তৰঙ্গ মোৰ ওপৰেদি গ’ল।
Thou didst cast me into the deep, into the heart of the sea, And the flood compassed me about; All thy billows and thy waves passed over me.
4 ৪ মই ক’লো, ‘আপোনাৰ দৃষ্টিৰ পৰা মোক দূৰ কৰি দিলে; মই কেনেকৈ পুনৰ আপোনাৰ পবিত্ৰ মন্দিৰৰ ফালে দৃষ্টি কৰিম?
And I said, “I am cast out from before thine eyes; Yet I will look again to thy holy temple!”
5 ৫ জল সমূহে মোক গ্রাস কৰি প্রাণৰ সংশয়লৈ লৈ গ’ল; অগাধ জলে মোক আগুৰি ধৰিলে; সাগৰৰ লতা-বনবোৰে মোৰ মূৰ মেৰাই ধৰিলে।
The waters compassed me about, even to the life, The deep enclosed me round about; Sea-weeds were bound around my head;
6 ৬ মই ডুবি গৈ পৰ্ব্বতবোৰৰ মূল পর্যন্ত নামি গ’লোঁ; নিজৰ ডাংবোৰেৰে পৃথিৱীয়ে মোক চিৰকাললৈকে আটক কৰিলে; কিন্তু, হে মোৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱা, আপুনি সেই গাতৰ পৰা মোক উঠাই আনিলে।
I sank down to the foundations of the mountains; The bars of the earth were about me forever; Yet hast thou brought up my life from the pit, O Jehovah, my God!
7 ৭ মোৰ প্ৰাণ যেতিয়া মোৰ অন্তৰত ব্যাকুল হ’ল, মই যিহোৱাক সোঁৱৰণ কৰিলোঁ আৰু মোৰ প্ৰাৰ্থনা আপোনাৰ ওচৰত আপোনাৰ পবিত্ৰ মন্দিৰত উপস্থিত হ’ল।
When my soul fainted within me, I remembered Jehovah, And my prayer came to thee, To thy holy temple.
They that honor lying vanities forsake their mercy;
9 ৯ কিন্তু মই হ’লে স্তুতি-ধন্যবাদেৰে আপোনাৰ উদ্দেশ্যে বলি উৎসৰ্গ কৰিম; মই কৰা সংকল্প সিদ্ধ কৰিম; পৰিত্ৰাণ যিহোৱাৰ পৰাই আহে!”
But I will sacrifice to thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that which I have vowed; Salvation is from Jehovah.
And Jehovah commanded the fish, and it cast out Jonah upon the dry land.
