1 ১ “এতিয়া মাতাচোন, কোনোবাই তোমাক উত্তৰ দিব নে? আৰু পবিত্ৰলোকৰ মাজত তুমি কালৈ মুখ কৰিবা?

Call now, see if any will answer thee! And to which of the holy ones wilt thou look?

2 ২ কিয়নো মনৰ বেজাৰে অজ্ঞানক বধ কৰে, আৰু অসুয়াই নিৰ্ব্বোধক হত্যা কৰে।

Verily grief destroyeth the fool, And wrath consumeth the weak man.

3 ৩ মই নিজে অজ্ঞানক শিপা ধৰা দেখিলোঁ, কিন্তু মই তৎক্ষণাৎ তাৰ বাসস্থানক শাও দিলোঁ।

I have seen an impious man taking root, But soon I cursed his habitation.

4 ৪ তাৰ সন্তান সকলক ৰক্ষা কৰিবলৈ কোনো নাথাকিল, আৰু সিহঁতক ৰাজদুৱাৰত গুড়ি কৰা হল; সিহঁতক উদ্ধাৰ কৰোঁতা কোনো নাছিল।

His children are far from safety; They are oppressed at the gate, and there is none to deliver them.

5 ৫ ক্ষুধাতুৰ লোকে তাৰ শস্য খাই পেলালে, কাঁইটৰ মাজত যি শস্য গজিছিল, সেয়া তৃষ্ণাতুৰ লোকে খাইছিল, তেওঁলোকৰ যি আছিল, লোভী লোকসকলে সকলো লৈ গৈছিল।

His harvest the hungry devour, Carrying it even through the thorns; And a snare gapeth after his substance.

6 ৬ কিয়নো অমঙ্গল ধুলিৰ পৰা উৎপন্ন নহয়, আৰু মাটিৰ পৰা ক্লেশ নগজে;

For affliction cometh not from the dust, Nor doth trouble spring up from the ground;

7 ৭ কিন্তু জুইৰ ফিৰিঙটি যেনেকৈ ওপৰলৈ উড়ে, তেনেকৈ মানুহ দুখৰ কাৰণে জন্মে।

Behold, man is born to trouble, As the sparks fly upward.

8 ৮ কিন্তু মই হোৱা হ’লে ঈশ্বৰলৈ ঘূৰি গলোঁহেতেন, আৰু মোৰ গোচৰ ঈশ্বৰৰ আগত উপস্থিত কৰিলোঁহেতেন।

I would look to God, And to God would I commit my cause,

9 ৯ অনুসন্ধান কৰিব নোৱাৰা মহৎ কৰ্মও তেওঁ কৰে; অসংখ্য অদ্ভুত কাৰ্যও তেওঁ কৰে;

Who doeth great things and unsearchable; Yea, marvellous things without number;

10 ১০ তেওঁ পৃথিৱীৰ ওপৰত বৃষ্টি বৰষায়, আৰু পথাৰৰ ওপৰত জল বোৱাই দিয়ে;

Who giveth rain upon the earth, And sendeth water upon the fields;

11 ১১ তেওঁ নীহলোকক ওখ কৰে, আৰু শোকাতুৰ লোকসকল সৌভাগ্যলৈ উন্নত হয়।

Who placeth the lowly in high places, And restoreth the afflicted to prosperity;

12 ১২ তেওঁ ধূৰ্তবোৰৰ কল্পনা ব্যৰ্থ কৰে; তাতে সিহঁতৰ হাতে সিহঁতৰ অভিপ্ৰায় সাধন কৰিব নোৱাৰে।

Who disappointeth the devices of the crafty, So that their hands cannot perform their enterprises;

13 ১৩ তেওঁ জ্ঞানীলোকক সিহঁতৰ নিজৰ চতুৰতাত ধৰে; তাতে কুটিলমনবোৰৰ কল্পনা নিস্ফল হৈ পৰে।

Who taketh the wise in their own craftiness, And bringeth to nought the counsel of the artful.

14 ১৪ সিহঁতে দিনতেই আন্ধাৰক লগ পায়, ৰাতিৰ নিচিনাকৈ দিন-দুপৰতে খপিয়াই ফুৰে।

They meet with darkness in the daytime; They grope at noon as if it were night.

15 ১৫ কিন্তু তেওঁ সিহঁতৰ মুখৰূপ তৰোৱালৰ পৰা, আৰু পৰাক্ৰমী হাতৰ পৰা দৰিদ্ৰক উদ্ধাৰ কৰে।

So he saveth the persecuted from their mouth; The oppressed from the hand of the mighty.

16 ১৬ এইদৰে দীনহীনে আশা পায়, আৰু অধৰ্মই নিজৰ মুখ বন্ধ কৰে।

So the poor hath hope, And iniquity stoppeth her mouth.

17 ১৭ চোৱা, যি মানুহক ঈশ্বৰে শুধৰায়, সেই মানুহ ধন্য; এই কাৰণে তুমি সৰ্ব্বশক্তিমান জনাৰ শাস্তি হেয়জ্ঞান নকৰিবা।

Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth; Therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty.

18 ১৮ কিয়নো তেওঁ ঘা লগায়, আৰু তাক বান্ধে; তেওঁ আঘাত কৰে, আৰু নিজ হাতেৰে তাক সুস্থ কৰে।

For he bruiseth, and bindeth up; He woundeth, and his hands make whole.

19 ১৯ তেওঁ ছয় সঙ্কটৰ পৰা তোমাক উদ্ধাৰ কৰিব; এনে কি, সাত সঙ্কটতো অমঙ্গলে তোমাক স্পৰ্শ কৰিব নোৱাৰিব।

In six troubles will he deliver thee; Yea, in seven shall no evil touch thee.

20 ২০ তেওঁ আকালত মৃত্যুৰ পৰা তোমাক মুক্ত কৰিব, আৰু যুদ্ধত তৰোৱালৰ মুখৰ পৰা উদ্ধাৰ কৰিব।

In famine he will redeem thee from death, And in war from the power of the sword.

21 ২১ তুমি জিভাস্বৰূপ চাবুকৰ কোবৰ পৰা লুকাই থাকিবা; আৰু বিনাশ আহিলে তুমি তাৰ পৰা ভয় নাপাবা।

Thou shalt be safe from the scourge of the tongue, And shalt not be afraid of destruction, when it cometh.

22 ২২ বিনাশ আৰু দুৰ্ভিক্ষক দেখা পালে তুমি হাঁহিবা, আৰু বনৰীয়া জন্তুৰ পৰা তুমি ভয় নাপাবা।

At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh, And of the wild beasts of the land shalt thou not be afraid.

23 ২৩ কিয়নো পথাৰৰ শিলবোৰৰ লগত তোমাৰ সন্ধি হ’ব, আৰু বনৰীয়া জন্তুবোৰ তোমাৰ লগত শান্তভাৱে থাকিব।

For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field; Yea, the beasts of the forest shall be at peace with thee.

24 ২৪ তাতে তোমাৰ তম্বু যে কুশলে আছে, সেই বিষয়ে তুমি জানিবলৈ পাবা, আৰু তোমাৰ নিবাসৰ ঠাইত তুমি বুজ ল’লে, আশাত বঞ্চিত নহবা।

Thou shalt find that thy tent is in peace; Thou shalt visit thy dwelling, and not be disappointed.

25 ২৫ তোমাৰ সন্তান-সন্ততি যে অধিক হ’ব, আৰু তোমাৰ বংশ যে পৃথিবীত তৃণৰ দৰে বাঢ়িব, সেই বিষয়েও তুমি জানিবলৈ পাবা।

Thou shalt see thy descendants numerous, And thine offspring as the grass of the earth.

26 ২৬ ডাঙৰি যেনেকৈ উচিত সময়ত লৈ যোৱা হয়, তেনেকৈ তোমাকো সম্পূৰ্ণ আয়ুসত মৈদামলৈ নিয়া হ’ব।

Thou shalt come to thy grave in full age, As a shock of corn gathered in its season.

27 ২৭ চোৱা, এয়া আমাৰ কথা, আমি বিবেচনা কৰি ইয়াকে নিশ্চয় পালোঁ; ইয়াকে তুমি শুনা, আৰু তুমি নিজৰ ভালৰ অৰ্থে তাক গ্ৰহণ কৰা।”

Lo! this we have searched out; so it is: Hear it, and lay it up in thy mind!
