যোব 3

1 ১ পাছত ইয়োবে মুখ মেলি তেওঁৰ জন্ম-দিনক শাও দিলে।

After this opened Job his mouth, and cursed his day.

2 ২ ইয়োবে মাত লগাই ক’লে,

And Job answered and said:

3 ৩ যিদিনত মোৰ জন্ম হৈছিল, সেই দিন বিনষ্ট হওক, আৰু পুত্ৰ-সন্তান গৰ্ভত স্থিতি হ’ল বুলি কোৱা ৰাতি বিনষ্ট হওক।

Let the day perish wherein I was born, and the night which said, There is a man child conceived.

4 ৪ সেইদিন অন্ধকাৰময় হওক; ঈশ্বৰে ওপৰৰ পৰা তললৈ দৃষ্টি নকৰক, আৰু তাৰ ওপৰত পোহৰ প্ৰকাশিত নহওক;

Let that day be darkness; let not God regard it from above, neither let the light shine upon it.

5 ৫ অন্ধকাৰ আৰু মৃত্যুচ্ছায়াই তাক নিজৰ বুলি গ্ৰহণ কৰক; মেঘে তাক ঢাকি ধৰক; দিনক আন্ধাৰকৰোঁতা সকলোৱে তাৰ ভয় জন্মাওক।

Let darkness and the shadow of death claim it for their own; let a cloud dwell upon it; let all that maketh black the day terrify it.

6 ৬ সেই ৰাতিক ঘোৰ অন্ধকাৰে ধৰক। বছৰৰ দিনবোৰৰ মাজত সি আনন্দ নকৰক, আৰু মাহৰ লেখতো নপৰক।

As for that night, let thick darkness seize upon it: let it not rejoice among the days of the year; let it not come into the number of the months.

7 ৭ চোৱা, সেই ৰাতি অসাৰ্থক হওক, তাত কোনো আনন্দ-ধ্বনি নহওক।

Lo, let that night be barren; let no joyful voice come therein.

8 ৮ দিনক শাও দিওঁতাবোৰে তাক শাও দিয়ক; বাহুক উচটাবলৈ নিপুণ লোকসকলে তাক শাও দিয়ক।

Let them curse it that curse the day, who are ready to rouse up leviathan.

9 ৯ সেইদিনৰ প্রভাতীয় তৰা যেন অন্ধকাৰ হৈ যায়। সেই ৰাতিয়ে যেন প্ৰভাতৰ কাৰণে অপেক্ষা কৰে, কিন্তু সেই প্ৰভাত যেন কোনো দিন নাহে। সেইদিনে যেন সূৰ্যৰ প্ৰথম ৰশ্মি কেতিয়াও নেদেখক।

Let the stars of the twilight thereof be dark: let it look for light, but have none; neither let it behold the eyelids of the morning:

10 ১০ কিয়নো সি মোৰ মাতৃৰ গৰ্ভৰ দুৱাৰ বন্ধ নকৰিলে, আৰু মোৰ চকুৰ পৰা ক্লেশ ঢাকি নথলে।

Because it shut not up the doors of my [mother’s] womb, nor hid trouble from mine eyes.

11 ১১ মই কিয় গৰ্ভতে নমৰিলোঁ? উদৰৰ পৰা বাহিৰ হোৱামাত্ৰে মই কিয় প্ৰাণত্যাগ নকৰিলোঁ?

Why died I not from the womb? why did I not give up the ghost when I came out of the belly?

12 ১২ কোলাই মোক কিয় ল’লে? আৰু মই পিয়াহ খাবলৈ স্তনে বা মোক কিয় গ্ৰহণ কৰিলে?

Why did the knees receive me? or why the breasts, that I should suck?

13 ১৩ কিয়নো সেয়ে নোহোৱা হ’লে, মই শুই শান্তি পালোহেঁতেন, সেয়ে নোহোৱা হ’লে, মই নিদ্ৰিত হলোঁহেঁতেন আৰু শান্তি পালোহেঁতেন।

For now should I have lain down and been quiet; I should have slept; then had I been at rest:

14 ১৪ তেতিয়া যিসকলে নিজৰ কাৰণে ধ্বংস-স্থান নিৰ্ম্মাণ কৰিছিল, এনে ৰজাসকলৰ আৰু পৃথিৱীৰ মন্ত্ৰীসকলৰ লগত,

With kings and counsellors of the earth, which built up waste places for themselves;

15 ১৫ অথবা সোণ থকা সেই ৰাজপুত্ৰ সকলৰ সৈতে থাকিব পাৰিলেহেঁতেন, আৰু যিসকলে নিজ নিজ ঘৰ ৰূপেৰে পৰিপূৰ্ণ কৰিছিল, এনে লোকসকলৰ লগত থাকি মই বিশ্ৰাম পালোঁহেঁতেন,

Or with princes that had gold, who filled their houses with silver:

16 ১৬ বা গুপ্ত গৰ্ভস্ৰাবৰ দৰে মই একো নহলোঁহেঁতেন, পোহৰ দেখিবলৈ নোপোৱা সন্তানৰ দৰে হলোঁহেঁতেন।

Or as an hidden untimely birth I had not been; as infants which never saw light.

17 ১৭ সেই ঠাইত দুষ্টবোৰে আৰু উপদ্ৰৱ নকৰে; ভাগৰুৱাই তাত জিৰণি পায়।

There the wicked cease from troubling; and there the weary be at rest.

18 ১৮ তাত বন্দীয়াৰসকলেও একেলগে নিৰাপদে থাকে; ক্রীতদাস সকলে কাৰ্যাধ্যক্ষ সকলৰ ডাবি-হুমকি আৰু নুশুনে।

There the prisoners are at ease together; they hear not the voice of the taskmaster.

19 ১৯ তাত সৰু কি বৰ সকলো একে; আৰু বন্দী তেওঁৰ গৰাকীৰ পৰা মুক্ত হয়।

The small and great are there; and the servant is free from his master.

20 ২০ দুৰ্ভগীয়াক কিয় পোহৰ দিয়া যায়? মনত বিষাদ পোৱাসকলক কিয় জীয়াই থাকিবলৈ দিয়া হয়?

Wherefore is light given to him that is in misery, and life unto the bitter in soul;

21 ২১ তেওঁলোকে মৃত্যুলৈ অপেক্ষা কৰে, কিন্তু সেয়ে নাহে, আৰু গুপ্ত ধনতকৈয়ো তাক বৰকৈ বিচাৰে।

Which long for death, but it cometh not; and dig for it more than for hid treasures;

22 ২২ কিয় পোহৰে তেওঁলোকক অধিক উল্লাস দিয়ে, কিয় মৈদাম বিচাৰি পালে তেওঁলোকে আনন্দ কৰে?

Which rejoice exceedingly, and are glad, when they can find the grave?

23 ২৩ যাৰ পথ গুপ্ত থাকে, আৰু ঈশ্বৰে যাৰ চাৰিওফালে বেৰা দিয়ে, এনে মানুহক কিয় পোহৰ দিয়া হয়?

[Why is light given] to a man whose way is hid, and whom God hath hedged in?

24 ২৪ কিয়নো মই খাবলৈ নৌপাওঁতেই মোৰ হুমুনিয়াহ আহে, আৰু মোৰ কেঁকনি পানীৰ ধাৰৰ দৰে ওলাই থাকে।

For my sighing cometh before I eat, and my roarings are poured out like water.

25 ২৫ কিয়নো মই যিহকে ভয় কৰোঁ, সেয়ে মোলৈ ঘটে, আৰু যিহলৈ আশঙ্কা কৰোঁ, সেয়ে মোলৈ আহে।

For the thing which I fear cometh upon me, and that which I am afraid of cometh unto me.

26 ২৬ মোৰ সুখ নাই, শান্তি নাই, বিশ্ৰামো নাই, কিন্তু দুখহে আহি থাকে।”

I am not at ease, neither am I quiet, neither have I rest; but trouble cometh.
