1 ১ যিহোৱাই যেতিয়া এলিয়াক ঘূর্ণিবতাহৰ দ্বাৰাই স্বৰ্গলৈ তুলি নিব বিচাৰিছিল, তেতিয়া এলিয়া আৰু ইলীচাই গিলগলৰ পৰা ওলাই গৈছিল।
AND it came to pass, when the Lord would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.
2 ২ এলিয়াই ইলীচাক ক’লে, “তুমি ইয়াতে থাকা; যিহোৱাই মোক বৈৎএললৈ পঠাইছে।” কিন্তু ইলীচাই তেওঁক ক’লে, “যিহোৱাৰ শপত আৰু আপোনাৰ প্ৰাণৰ শপত, মই আপোনাক এৰি নাযাওঁ।” তাতে তেওঁলোক বৈৎএললৈ নামি গ’ল।
And Elijah said unto Elisha, Tarry here, I pray thee; for the Lord hath sent me to Beth-el. And Elisha said unto him, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they went down to Beth-el.
3 ৩ বৈৎএলত থকা শিষ্য ভাববাদীসকলৰ এটা দলে ইলীচাৰ ওচৰলৈ আহি ক’লে, “যিহোৱাই যে আজি আপোনাৰ গুৰুক আপোনাৰ ওচৰৰ পৰা লৈ যাব, সেই বিষয়ে আপুনি জানেনে?” ইলীচাই উত্তৰ দিলে, “হয়, মই জানো; কিন্তু তোমালোকে এই বিষয়ে একোকে নকবা।”
And the sons of the prophets that were at Beth-el came forth to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Lord will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he said, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace.
4 ৪ তাৰ পাছত এলিয়াই তেওঁক ক’লে, “ইলীচা, তুমি ইয়াতে থাকা; কিয়নো যিহোৱাই মোক যিৰীহোলৈ পঠাইছে।” কিন্তু ইলীচাই ক’লে, “যিহোৱাৰ শপত আৰু আপোনাৰ প্ৰাণৰ শপত, মই আপোনাক এৰি নাযাওঁ।” তাতে তেওঁলোক যিৰীহোলৈ গ’ল।
And Elijah said unto him, Elisha, tarry here, I pray thee; for the Lord hath sent me to Jericho. And he said, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they came to Jericho.
5 ৫ যিৰীহোত থকা শিষ্য ভাববাদী ইলীচাৰ ওচৰলৈ আহি ক’লে, “যিহোৱাই যে আজি আপোনাৰ গুৰুক আপোনাৰ ওচৰৰ পৰা লৈ যাব, সেই বিষয়ে আপুনি জানেনে?” ইলীচাই উত্তৰ দিলে, “হয়, মই জানো; কিন্তু এই বিষয়ে তোমালোকে একোকে নকবা।”
And the sons of the prophets that were at Jericho came to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Lord will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he answered, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace.
6 ৬ তাৰ পাছত এলিয়াই ইলীচাক ক’লে, “তুমি ইয়াতে থাকা; কিয়নো যিহোৱাই মোক যৰ্দ্দনলৈ পঠাইছে।” ইলীচাই উত্তৰ দিলে, “যিহোৱাৰ শপত আৰু আপোনাৰ প্ৰাণৰ শপত, মই আপোনাক এৰি নাযাওঁ।” সেয়ে তেওঁলোক দুয়ো যাবলৈ ধৰিলে।
And Elijah said unto him, Tarry, I pray thee, here; for the Lord hath sent me to Jordan. And he said, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And they two went on.
7 ৭ এলিয়া আৰু ইলীচা দুয়ো যৰ্দ্দন নদীৰ পাৰত গৈ ৰ’ল আৰু তেওঁলোকৰ পৰা কিছু দূৰৈত পঞ্চাশজন শিষ্য ভাববাদী আহি থিয় হ’ল।
And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went, and stood to view afar off: and they two stood by Jordan.
8 ৮ এলিয়াই নিজৰ গাৰ চাদৰখন নুৰিয়াই লৈ যৰ্দনৰ পানীত কোবালে; তাতে পানী দুয়োফালে দুভাগ হৈ গ’ল আৰু তেওঁলোক দুজন শুকান মাটিৰ ওপৰেদি পাৰ হৈ গ’ল।
And Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and smote the waters, and they were divided hither and thither, so that they two went over on dry ground.
9 ৯ পাৰ হৈ যোৱাৰ পাছত এলিয়াই ইলীচাক ক’লে, “মোক কোৱা, তোমাৰ ওচৰৰ পৰা মোক তুলি নিয়াৰ আগেয়ে মই তোমাৰ কাৰণে কি কৰিম?” ইলীচাই উত্তৰত ক’লে, “মিনতি কৰোঁ, আপোনাৰ আত্মাৰ ক্ষমতাৰ দুগুণ আত্মা যেন মই পাওঁ।”
And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.
10 ১০ এলিয়াই ক’লে, “তুমি এক জটিল বিষয় বিচাৰিলা। তথাপিও তোমাৰ ওচৰৰ পৰা মোক লৈ যোৱাৰ সময়ত যদি তুমি মোক দেখা পোৱা, তেন্তে তুমি তাক পাবা; যদি দেখা নোপোৱা, তেন্তে নাপাবা।”
And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so.
11 ১১ তেওঁলোকে এইদৰে কথা পাতি গৈ থাকোঁতেই, হঠাৎ এখন অগ্নিময় ৰথ আৰু অগ্নিময় কিছুমান ঘোঁৰা আহি তেওঁলোক দুজনক পৃথক কৰি দিলে, আৰু এক ঘূর্ণিবতাহত এলিয়া স্বৰ্গলৈ উঠি গুছি গ’ল।
And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
12 ১২ ইলীচাই তাকে দেখি চিঞঁৰি উঠিল, “মোৰ পিতৃ, হে মোৰ পিতৃ, ইস্ৰায়েলৰ ৰথ আৰু অশ্বাৰোহীসকল!” তাৰ পিছত ইলীচাই এলিয়াক পুনৰ দেখা নাপালে। তেতিয়া তেওঁ নিজৰ কাপোৰ ধৰি ফালি দুডোখৰ কৰিলে।
And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.
He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan;
14 ১৪ এলিয়াৰ গাৰ পৰা পৰি যোৱা সেই চাদৰখনেৰে তেওঁ পানীত আঘাত কৰি ক’লে, “এলিয়াৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱা ক’ত?” যেতিয়া তেওঁ পানীত আঘাত কৰিলে, তেতিয়া পানী দুয়োকাষে দুভাগ হ’ল আৰু ইলীচা পাৰ হৈ গ’ল।
And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the Lord God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over.
15 ১৫ যিৰীহোৰ শিষ্য ভাববাদীসকলৰ দলটোৱে যেতিয়া ইলীচাক দেখা পালে, তেতিয়া তেওঁলোকে ক’লে, “এলিয়াৰ আত্মা ইলীচাৰ ওপৰত স্থিতি লৈছে!” সেইবাবে, তেওঁলোকে ইলীচাক সাক্ষাৎ কৰিবলৈ আহিল আৰু তেওঁৰ সন্মুখত মাটিত উবুৰি হৈ পৰি প্ৰণিপাত কৰিলে।
And when the sons of the prophets which were to view at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.
16 ১৬ তেওঁলোকে তেওঁক ক’লে, “চাওক, আপোনাৰ দাসবোৰৰ মাজত ইয়াত পঞ্চাশজন শক্তিশালী লোক আছে। বিনয় কৰোঁ, তেওঁলোকক আপোনাৰ গুৰুক বিচাৰি যাবলৈ অনুমতি দিয়ক; হয়তো যিহোৱাৰ আত্মাই তেওঁক তুলি লৈ গৈ কোনো পৰ্ব্বত নাইবা কোনো উপত্যকাত পেলাই গৈছে।” কিন্তু ইলীচাই ক’লে, “নহয়! তেওঁলোকৰ কাকো পঠাব নালাগে।”
And they said unto him, Behold now, there be with thy servants fifty strong men; let them go, we pray thee, and seek thy master: lest peradventure the Spirit of the Lord hath taken him up, and cast him upon some mountain, or into some valley. And he said, Ye shall not send.
17 ১৭ কিন্তু ভাৱবাদীসকলৰ শিষ্যৰ দলটোৱে ইলীচাক মিনতি কৰি থকাত, তেওঁ লাজ পাই ক’লে, “ঠিক আছে, পঠাই দিয়া।” তাতে তেওঁলোকে পঞ্চাশজন লোকক পঠাই দিলে আৰু সেই পঞ্চাশজনে তিনি দিন ধৰি বিচৰা পাছতো এলিয়াক নাপালে।
And when they urged him till he was ashamed, he said, Send. They sent therefore fifty men; and they sought three days, but found him not.
18 ১৮ ইলীচা যিৰীহোত থকাৰ সময়তে তেওঁলোক তেওঁৰ ওচৰলৈ উলটি আহিল; ইলীচাই তেওঁলোকক ক’লে, “মই জানো তোমালোকক কোৱা নাছিলো, ‘নাযাবা বুলি’?”
And when they came again to him, (for he tarried at Jericho, ) he said unto them, Did I not say unto you, Go not?
19 ১৯ এদিন নগৰৰ লোকসকলে ইলীচাক ক’লে, “মহাশয়, আপুনিতো দেখিছেই যে এক সুন্দৰ অৱস্থানত এই নগৰখন আছে। কিন্তু ইয়াৰ পানী বিশুদ্ধ নহয় আৰু ভূমিয়েও ভাল শস্য উৎপন্ন নকৰে।”
And the men of the city said unto Elisha, Behold, I pray thee, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord seeth: but the water is naught, and the ground barren.
20 ২০ ইলীচাই ক’লে, “আপোনালোকে এটা নতুন পাত্রত অলপ নিমখ লৈ মোৰ ওচৰলৈ আহক।” লোকসকলেও সেইদৰেই ইলীচাৰ ওচৰলৈ আনি দিলে।
And he said, Bring me a new cruse, and put salt therein. And they brought it to him.
21 ২১ তেতিয়া ইলীচাই সেইখিনি লৈ পানীৰ ভুমুকৰ কাষলৈ ওলাই গ’ল আৰু তাত লোণখিনি পেলাই দি ক’লে, “যিহোৱাই এইদৰে কৈছে, ‘মই এই পানী বিশুদ্ধ কৰিলোঁ; এতিয়াৰ পৰা এই পানী খাই কাৰো মৃত্যু নহ’ব আৰু ভূমিৰ উৎপাদন শস্যও নষ্ট নহ’ব’।”
And he went forth unto the spring of the waters, and cast the salt in there, and said, Thus saith the Lord, I have healed these waters; there shall not be from thence any more death or barren land.
So the waters were healed unto this day, according to the saying of Elisha which he spake.
23 ২৩ পাছত ইলীচা তাৰ পৰা বৈৎএললৈ গ’ল। তেওঁ ওপৰলৈ উঠি গৈ থাকোতে বাটত কিছুমান সৰু ল’ৰাই নগৰৰ পৰা ওলাই আহি তেওঁক বিদ্রূপ কৰি ক’বলৈ ধৰিলে, “ঐ তপামূৰা, সোনকালে সোনকালে উঠি যা; তপামূৰা!”
And he went up from thence unto Beth-el: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head.
24 ২৪ তেতিয়া ইলীচাই পাছফালে ঘূৰি সিহঁতৰ ফালে চাই যিহোৱাৰ নামেৰে সিহঁতক শাও দিলে; তেতিয়া বননিৰ পৰা হঠাৎ দুজনী ভালুক ওলাই আহিল আৰু সিহঁতৰ মাজৰ বিয়াল্লিশটা ল’ৰাক ক্ষত-বিক্ষত কৰিলে।
And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.
And he went from thence to mount Carmel, and from thence he returned to Samaria.
