1 ১ ইস্রায়েলৰ ৰজা যিহোৱাহজৰ পুত্ৰ যিহোৱাচৰ ৰাজত্ব কালৰ দ্বিতীয় বছৰত যিহূদাৰ ৰজা যোৱাচৰ পুত্ৰ অমচিয়াই ৰাজত্ব কৰিবলৈ ধৰিলে।

2 ২ তেওঁ পঁচিশ বছৰ বয়সত ৰজা হৈ যিৰূচালেমত ঊনত্ৰিশ বছৰ ৰাজত্ব কৰিছিল। তেওঁৰ মাকৰ নাম আছিল যিহোৱাদ্দন। তেওঁ যিৰূচালেম নগৰৰ বাসিন্দা আছিল।

6 ৬ কিন্তু ঘাতকসকলৰ পুত্রসকলক হ’লে তেওঁ বধ কৰা নাছিল; মোচিৰ বিধান পুস্তকত যি লিখা আছিল, তেওঁ সেই দৰেই তেওঁলোকক বধ নকৰিলে। সেই পুস্তকত যিহোৱাই এইদৰে কৈছে, “সন্তানৰ কাৰণে পিতৃক অথবা পিতৃ-মাতৃৰ কাৰণে সন্তানক মৃত্যুদণ্ডৰে দণ্ডিত কৰা উচিত নহ’ব। কিন্তু প্ৰতিজনে তেওঁৰ নিজ নিজ পাপৰ কাৰণে মৰিব লাগিব।”

9 ৯ কিন্তু ইস্ৰায়েলৰ ৰজা যিহোৱাচে উত্তৰত যিহূদাৰ ৰজা অমচিয়ালৈ কৈ পঠালে, “লিবানোনৰ এজোপা কাঁইট গছে লিবানোনৰেই এৰচ গছজোপালৈ কৈ পঠালে, ‘মোৰ পুত্রৰ লগত আপোনাৰ ছোৱালীক বিয়া দিয়ক।’ তাৰ পাছত লিবানোনত থকা এটা বন্য জন্তুৱে ঘূৰি-ফুৰি আহি সেই কাঁইট গছজোপাক গছকি মাৰিলে।

11 ১১ কিন্তু অমচিয়াই সেই কথালৈ কাণ নিদিলে। সেয়ে, ইস্ৰায়েলৰ ৰজা যিহোৱাচে তেওঁক আক্রমণ কৰিলে; তেওঁ আৰু যিহূদাৰ ৰজা অমচিয়াই যিহূদাৰ বৈৎচেমচত ইজনে সিজনৰ মুখা-মুখি হ’ল।

13 ১৩ ইস্ৰায়েলৰ ৰজা যিহোৱাচে বৈৎচেমচত যিহূদাৰ ৰজা অমচিয়াক বন্দী কৰি যিৰূচালেমলৈ লৈ আহিল। অমচিয়া যোৱাচৰ পুত্র আৰু অহজিয়াৰ নাতি আছিল। তাৰ পাছত ৰজা যিহোৱাচে যিৰূচালেমলৈ আহি ইফ্ৰয়িমৰ দুৱাৰৰ পৰা কোণৰ দুৱাৰ পর্যন্ত প্ৰায় চাৰিশ হাত দীঘল যিৰূচালেমৰ প্রাচীৰ ভাঙি পেলালে।
