1 ১ চমূৱেলে চৌলক ক’লে, “যিহোৱাই নিজ প্ৰজা ইস্ৰায়েলৰ ওপৰত ৰজা হ’বৰ অৰ্থে তোমাক অভিষেক কৰিবলৈ মোক পঠাইছিল; এই হেতুকে এতিয়া তুমি যিহোৱাৰ বাক্য শুনা।
Samuel also said to Saul, the LORD sent me to anoint thee [to be] king over his people, over Israel: now therefore hearken thou to the voice of the words of the LORD.
2 ২ বাহিনীসকলৰ যিহোৱাই এই কথা কৈছে, ইস্ৰায়েলসকল, মিচৰৰ পৰা ওলাই অহা সময়ত অমালেকে বাটৰ মাজত তেওঁলোকক কি দৰে বাধা দিছিল, তালৈ মই লক্ষ্য কৰিলোঁ।
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember [that] which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid [wait] for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.
3 ৩ সেয়ে যোৱা, অমালেকক প্ৰহাৰ কৰা আৰু তেওঁলোকৰ যি সকলো আছিল তাক নষ্ট কৰা, তেওঁলোকলৈ দয়া নকৰিবা; কিন্তু পুৰুষ আৰু নাৰী, শিশু আৰু পিয়াহ খোৱা কেঁচুৱা, গৰু, মেৰ, ছাগলী, উট আৰু গাধ সকলোকে বধ কৰিবা।”
Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.
4 ৪ চৌলে লোকসকলক মাতি আনিলে আৰু টলায়ীমত তেওঁলোকক গণনা কৰিলে; তাতে দুই লাখ পদাতিক আৰু যিহূদাৰ দহ হাজাৰ লোক হ’ল।
And Saul assembled the people, and numbered them in Telaim, two hundred thousand footmen, and ten thousand men of Judah.
And Saul came to a city of Amalek, and laid wait in the valley.
6 ৬ তেতিয়া চৌলে কেনীয়াসকলক ক’লে, “তোমালোক অমালেকীয়াসকলৰ মাজৰ পৰা ওলাই আঁতৰি যোৱা, তেতিয়া তেওঁলোকৰ লগত তোমালোককো বিনষ্ট নকৰিম। কাৰণ মিচৰৰ পৰা ইস্ৰায়েলৰ সন্তান সকল ওলাই অহা সময়ত তোমালোকে তেওঁলোকলৈ দয়া কৰিছিলা।” সেয়ে কেনীয়া সকল অমালেকৰ মাজৰ পৰা ওলাই গ’ল।
And Saul said to the Kenites, Go, depart, withdraw yourselves from among the Amalekites, lest I destroy you with them: for ye showed kindness to all the children of Israel when they came up from Egypt. So the Kenites departed from among the Amalekites.
And Saul smote the Amalekites from Havilah, [until] thou comest to Shur, that [is] over against Egypt.
8 ৮ তেওঁ অমালেকীয়া সকলৰ ৰজা অগাগক জীৱিত অৱস্থাতে ধৰিলে, আৰু আন লোক সকলক তৰোৱালৰ ধাৰেৰে ধ্বংস কৰিলে।
And he took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword.
9 ৯ কিন্তু চৌল আৰু লোকসকলে অগাগক আৰু উত্তম উত্তম মেৰ, ছাগলী, গৰু, হৃষ্টপুষ্ট দামুৰি আৰু মেৰ পোৱালিবোৰ আৰু আটাই উত্তম বস্তুবোৰ ধ্বংস নকৰিলে, কিন্তু যিবোৰ ঘিণলগা আৰু মূল্যহীন সেইবোৰক সম্পূৰ্ণ ভাৱে ধংস কৰিলে।
But Saul and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all [that was] good, and would not utterly destroy them: but every thing [that was] vile and refuse, that they destroyed utterly.
Then came the word of the LORD to Samuel, saying,
11 ১১ “চৌলক যে মই ৰজা পাতিলোঁ তাৰ বাবে মই দুখিত; কিয়নো তেওঁ মোৰ পৰা বিমুখ হ’ল আৰু মোৰ আজ্ঞাবোৰ পালন নকৰিলে।” তেতিয়া চমূৱেলৰ খং উঠিল, তেওঁ গোটেই ৰাতি যিহোৱাৰ আগত ক্ৰন্দন কৰিলে।
I repent that I have set up Saul [to be] king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried to the LORD all night.
12 ১২ চমূৱেল ৰাতিপুৱাতে উঠি চৌলৰ লগত সাক্ষাৎ কৰিবলৈ গ’ল। কিন্তু চমূৱেলক এই কথা কোৱা হ’ল, “চৌলে কৰ্মিললৈ আহি নিজৰ কাৰণে এটা জয়স্তম্ভ স্থাপন কৰিলে, আৰু তাৰ পৰা ঘূৰি গিলগললৈ গুচি গ’ল।”
And when Samuel rose early to meet Saul in the morning, it was told Samuel, saying, Saul came to Carmel, and behold, he set him up a place, and has gone about, and passed on, and gone down to Gilgal.
13 ১৩ তাৰ পৰা চমূৱেল চৌলৰ ওচৰলৈ আহিল, চৌলে তেওঁক ক’লে, “আপুনি যিহোৱাৰ আশীৰ্ব্বাদ-প্ৰাপ্ত হওঁক; মই যিহোৱাৰ আজ্ঞা পালন কৰিলোঁ।”
And Samuel came to Saul: and Saul said to him, Blessed [be] thou of the LORD: I have performed the commandment of the LORD.
14 ১৪ চমূৱেলে ক’লে, “তেন্তে মোৰ কাণত মেৰ আৰু ছাগলীৰ বেবেনি হৈছে কিয়? আৰু গৰুৰ হেম্বেলনি মই শুনিছোঁ, কিয়?”
And Samuel said, What [meaneth] then this bleating of the sheep in my ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear?
15 ১৫ চৌলে ক’লে, “সেইবোৰ অমালেকীয়া সকলৰ পৰা অনা হৈছে; কিয়নো নিজ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাৰ উদ্দেশ্যে বলিদান কৰিবৰ কাৰণে লোকসকলে উত্তম উত্তম মেৰ ও ছাগলী, আৰু উত্তম উত্তম গৰু ৰাখিলে; কিন্তু অৱশিষ্টবোৰ আমি ধ্বংস কৰিলোঁ।”
And Saul said, They have brought them from the Amalekites: for the people spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen, to sacrifice to the LORD thy God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed.
16 ১৬ চমূৱেলে চৌলক ক’লে, “ৰ’বা, যোৱা ৰাতি যিহোৱাই মোক যি ক’লে, তাক মই তোমাক কওঁ।” চৌল তেওঁক ক’লে, “কওক!”
Then Samuel said to Saul, Stay, and I will tell thee what the LORD hath said to me this night. And he said to him, Say on.
17 ১৭ চমূৱেলে ক’লে, “যদিও তুমি নিজৰ দৃ্ষ্টিত সৰু আছিলা, তথাপি ইস্ৰায়েলৰ ফৈদ সকলৰ মাজত তোমাক মুখ্য কৰা নহ’ল নে?” আৰু যিহোৱাই তোমাক ইস্ৰায়েলৰ ওপৰত ৰজা অভিষেক কৰিলে।
And Samuel said, When thou [wast] little in thy own sight, [wast] thou not [made] the head of the tribes of Israel, and the LORD anointed thee king over Israel?
18 ১৮ যিহোৱাই তোমাক তোমাৰ পথত পঠাই দি ক’লে, যোৱা পাপী লোকসকলক সম্পূৰ্ণভাৱে ধংস কৰা, আৰু অমালেকীয়াসকল সম্পূৰ্ণ ভাৱে ধ্বংস নোহোৱালৈকে তেওঁলোকৰ বিৰুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ কৰা।
And the LORD sent thee on a journey, and said, Go, and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until they are consumed.
19 ১৯ তেনেহলে তুমি যিহোৱাৰ বাক্য কিয় পালন কৰা নাছিলা, কিন্তু তাৰ পৰিবৰ্তে কিয় লুট কৰা বস্তু জব্দ কৰি যিহোৱাৰ দৃষ্টিত কিয় পাপ কৰিলা?”
Why then didst thou not obey the voice of the LORD, but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight of the LORD?
20 ২০ চৌলে চমূৱেলক ক’লে, “মই অৱশ্যে যিহোৱাৰ বাক্যলৈ পালন কৰিলোঁ। আৰু যিহোৱাই মোক যি বাটেদি পঠাইছিল, সেই বাটেদি গ’লো। অমালেকৰ ৰজা অগাগক মই বন্দী কৰিলোঁ, আৰু অমালেকীয়াসকলক সম্পূৰ্ণভাৱে ধ্বংস কৰিলোঁ।
And Saul said to Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and have gone the way which the LORD sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites.
21 ২১ কিন্তু লোকসকলে গিলগলত আপোনাৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাৰ উদ্দেশ্যে বলিদান কৰিবৰ অৰ্থে সম্পূৰ্ণভাৱে ধংস কৰিবলগীয়া বস্তুৰ মাজৰ পৰা উত্তম যি ভাগ, যেনে মেৰ, ছাগলী, আৰু গৰু আনিলে।”
But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice to the LORD thy God in Gilgal.
22 ২২ চমূৱেলে ক’লে, “যিহোৱাৰ বাক্য পালন কৰিলে যেনেকৈ তেওঁ সন্তুষ্ট হয়, তেনেকৈ হোম আৰু বলিদানত জানো তেওঁ সন্তুষ্ট হ’য়? বলিদানতকৈ আজ্ঞাপালন কৰা উত্তম, আৰু মেৰৰ তেলতকৈ বাক্য শুনা উত্তম।
And Samuel said, Hath the LORD [as great] delight in burnt-offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey [is] better than sacrifice, [and] to hearken than the fat of rams.
23 ২৩ কিয়নো বিদ্ৰোহ আচৰণ কৰা, মঙ্গলচোৱা পাপৰ তুল্য; আৰু আঁকোৰগোঁজ হোৱা, পাপিষ্ঠ আৰু অসাধু কাৰ্যৰ দৰে, - কাৰণ তুমি যিহোৱাৰ বাক্য অগ্ৰাহ্য কৰিলা, সেয়ে তেৱোঁ তোমাক ৰজা পদৰ পৰা অগ্ৰাহ্য কৰিলে।”
For rebellion [is as] the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness [is as] iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from [being] king.
24 ২৪ তাৰ পাছত চৌলে চমূৱেলক ক’লে, “মই পাপ কৰিলোঁ; কিয়নো যিহোৱাৰ আজ্ঞা আৰু আপোনাৰ বাক্য লঙ্ঘন কৰিলোঁ; কাৰণ মই লোকসকলক ভয় কৰি তেওঁলোকৰ কথা শুনিলোঁ।
And Saul said to Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and thy words; because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.
25 ২৫ এতিয়া, মই বিনয় কৰোঁ, মোৰ পাপ ক্ষমা কৰক আৰু আপুনি মোৰ লগত ঘুৰি আহক যাতে মই যিহোৱাৰ প্ৰশংসা কৰিব পাৰোঁ।”
Now therefore, I pray thee, pardon my sin, and turn again with me, that I may worship the LORD.
26 ২৬ চমূৱেলে চৌলক ক’লে, “মই তোমাৰ লগত ঘুৰি নাযাওঁ; কিয়নো তুমি যিহোৱাৰ বাক্য অগ্ৰাহ্য কৰিলা, আৰু যিহোৱায়ো তোমাক ইস্ৰায়েলৰ ওপৰত হোৱা ৰজাপদৰ পৰা অগ্ৰাহ্য কৰিলে।”
And Samuel said to Saul, I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD hath rejected thee from being king over Israel.
27 ২৭ যেতিয়া চমূৱেলে যাবলৈ মুখ ঘূৰালে, তেতিয়া চৌলে তেওঁৰ কাপোৰৰ আগভাগ ধৰিলে, আৰু সেইয়া ফাতি এৰাই গ’ল।
And as Samuel turned about to depart, he laid hold upon the skirt of his mantle, and it rent.
28 ২৮ চমূৱেলে তেওঁক ক’লে, “যিহোৱাই আজি তোমাৰ পৰা ইস্ৰায়েলৰ ৰাজত্ব টানি ফালিলে, আৰু তোমাতকৈয়ো উত্তম তোমাৰ এজন চুবুৰীয়াক দিলে।
And Samuel said to him, The LORD hath rent the kingdom of Israel from thee this day, and hath given it to a neighbor of thine, [that is] better than thou.
29 ২৯ আৰু ইস্ৰায়েলৰ যিহোৱাই কেতিয়াও মিছা কথা নকয়, বা তেওঁ মন সলনি নকৰে; কাৰণ তেওঁ মানুহ নহয় যে তেওঁ মন সলনি কৰিব।”
And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for he [is] not a man, that he should repent.
30 ৩০ তেতিয়া চৌলে ক’লে, “মই পাপ কৰিলোঁ; তথাপি মই বিনয় কৰোঁ, বৃদ্ধ লোকসকলৰ আৰু ইস্ৰায়েলৰ আগত মোৰ মান ৰাখক। মোৰ লগত ঘুৰি আহক, তাতে মই যেন আপোনাৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাৰ প্ৰশংসা কৰিব পাৰোঁ।”
Then he said, I have sinned: [yet] honor me now, I pray thee, before the elders of my people, and before Israel, and turn again with me, that I may worship the LORD thy God.
So Samuel turned again after Saul; and Saul worshiped the LORD.
32 ৩২ তাৰ পাছত চমূৱেলে ক’লে, “অমালেকৰ ৰজা অগাগক মোৰ ওচৰলৈ আনা।” অগাগে আনন্দ মনেৰে তেওঁৰ ওচৰলৈ আহিল, আৰু ক’লে, “নিশ্চয় মৃত্যু যন্ত্ৰণা দূৰ হ’ল।”
Then said Samuel, Bring ye hither to me Agag the king of the Amalekites. And Agag came to him delicately. And Agag said, Surely the bitterness of death is past.
33 ৩৩ চমূৱেলে উত্তৰ দি ক’লে, “যিদৰে তোমাৰ তৰোৱালে অনেক মহিলাক সন্তানহীনা কৰিলে, সেইদৰে মহিলাসকলৰ মাজত তোমাৰ মাতৃও সন্তানহীনা হ’ব।” এইদৰে কৈ, চমূৱেলে গিলগলত যিহোৱাৰ সন্মুখত অগাগক ডোখৰ ডোখৰ কৰি কাটিলে।
And Samuel said, As thy sword hath made women childless, so shall thy mother be childless among women. And Samuel hewed Agag in pieces before the LORD in Gilgal.
Then Samuel went to Ramah; and Saul went up to his house to Gibeah of Saul.
35 ৩৫ কিন্তু তেতিয়াৰে পৰা মৃত্যুলৈকে চমূৱেলে চৌলক পুনৰ দেখা নকৰিলে, কাৰণ চমূৱেলে চৌলৰ বাবে শোক কৰিলে। আৰু যিহোৱাই ইস্ৰায়েলৰ ওপৰত চৌলক যে ৰজা পাতিলে, তাৰ বাবে তেওঁ বেজাৰ কৰিলে।
And Samuel came no more to see Saul until the day of his death: nevertheless Samuel mourned for Saul: and the LORD repented that he had made Saul king over Israel.
