1 ১ পৰ্বতীয়া দেশ ইফ্ৰয়িমৰ ৰামাথয়িম চোফীম অঞ্চলৰ নিবাসী ইলকানা নামেৰে এজন ব্যক্তি আছিল। তেওঁ যিৰোহমৰ পুত্র আৰু চুফ পৰিবাৰৰ আছিল। যিৰোহমৰ পিতৃ হ’ল ইলীহূ, ইলীহূৰ পিতৃ হ’ল তহূৰ, তহূৰৰ পিতৃ হ’ল চূফ। এওঁলোক ইফ্ৰয়িমৰ গোষ্ঠীৰ আছিল।
Once there was a man from Ramathaim-zophim in the hill country of Ephraim. His name was Elkanah, son of Jeroham, son of Elihu, son of Tohu, son of Zuph, from the tribe of Ephraim.
2 ২ তেওঁৰ দুজনী ভার্যা আছিল; এজনীৰ নাম হান্না আৰু আন জনীৰ নাম পিনিন্না। পিনিন্নাৰ সন্তান আছিল, কিন্তু হান্না নিঃসন্তান আছিল।
He had two wives. The name of the first wife was Hannah, and the name of the second, Peninnah. Peninnah had children, but Hannah had none.
3 ৩ এই ব্যক্তিজনে চীলোত বাহিনী সমূহৰ যিহোৱাৰ আগত প্ৰণিপাত কৰিবলৈ আৰু বলিদান দিবলৈ প্ৰতি বছৰে নিজ নগৰৰ পৰা গৈছিল। সেই ঠাইত এলীৰ দুজন পুতেক হফনী আৰু পীনহচ যিহোৱাৰ পুৰোহিত আছিল।
Every year Elkanah would leave his town and go to worship and sacrifice to the Lord Almighty at Shiloh, where Eli's two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, were the Lord's priests.
4 ৪ প্ৰতি বছৰে যেতিয়া ইলকানাই সেই দিনত বলি দিবলৈ আহে, তেতিয়া তাৰে এভাগ তেওঁ ভাৰ্যা পিনিন্নাক দিয়ে, আৰু তেওঁৰ পুতেক জীয়েক সকলকো দিয়ে।
Whenever Elkanah offered a sacrifice, he would give portions of it to Peninnah his wife and to all her sons and daughters.
5 ৫ যিহোৱাই তেওঁৰ গৰ্ভ বন্ধ কৰি ৰাখিছিল; কিন্তু তেওঁৰ স্ৱামী ইলকানাই তেওঁক প্ৰেম কৰিছিল কাৰণে হান্নাক দুভাগ দিয়ে।
He would give an extra portion to Hannah, to show his love for her even though the Lord hadn't given her any children.
6 ৬ যিহোৱাই তেওঁৰ গৰ্ভ বন্ধ কৰি ৰখা বাবে, সতিনীয়েকে তেওঁৰ মনত অসন্তোষ জন্মাবলৈ নানা কথাৰে তেওঁক বিৰক্ত কৰিছিল।
Her rival—the other wife—would taunt her badly to upset her because the Lord hadn't given her any children.
7 ৭ বছৰৰ পিছত বছৰ ধৰি হান্না যেতিয়া পৰিয়ালৰ সৈতে যিহোৱাৰ গৃহলৈ যায়, তেতিয়া তেওঁৰ সতিনীয়ে সদায় তেওঁক বিৰক্ত কৰে; এই হেতুকে তেওঁ ভোজন নকৰি কান্দি কান্দি দিন অতিবাহিত কৰিছিল।
This went on for years. Whenever Hannah went to the Lord's Temple, Peninnah would taunt her until she cried and couldn't eat.
8 ৮ তেতিয়া তেওঁৰ স্বামী ইলকানাই কয়, “হান্না তুমি কিয় কান্দিছা? তুমি কিয় আহাৰ গ্ৰহণ নকৰা? তোমাৰ হৃদয় দুখেৰে পৰিপূৰ্ণ কিয়? তোমাৰ দৃষ্টিত মই দহ জন পুত্ৰতকৈ উত্তম নহও নে?”
“Hannah, what are you crying for?” her husband Elkanah would ask. “Why don't you eat? Why are you so upset? Aren't I better to you than ten sons?”
9 ৯ এদিন তেওঁলোকে চীলোত ভোজন-পান কৰাৰ পাছত, হান্না থিয় হ’ল। সেই সময়ত যিহোৱাৰ মন্দিৰৰ দুৱাৰৰ খুটাৰ ওচৰত এলী পুৰোহিত নিজ আসনৰ ওপৰত বহি আছিল।
One time when they had finished eating and drinking in Shiloh, Hannah got up and went to the Temple. Eli the priest was sitting on his seat by the entrance to the Lord's Temple.
She was terribly upset, and prayed to the Lord as she cried and cried.
11 ১১ আৰু তেওঁ সংকল্প কৰি ক’লে, “হে বাহিনী সমূহৰ যিহোৱা, আপুনি যদি আপোনাৰ এই দাসীৰ দুখলৈ দৃষ্টি কৰি সোঁৱৰণ কৰে, আৰু আপোনাৰ দাসীক নাপাহৰি এটি পুত্ৰ-সন্তান দিয়ে, তেন্তে দাসীয়ে সি জীয়াই থকালৈকে যিহোৱাৰ উদ্দেশ্যে তাক উৎসৰ্গ কৰিম; আৰু তাৰ মূৰত খুৰ লগোৱা নহ’ব।”
She made a vow, asking, “Lord Almighty, if only you would pay attention to the suffering of your servant and remember me, and not forget me but give me a son, then I will dedicate him to the Lord for his whole life, and no razor shall ever touch his head.”
12 ১২ এনেদৰে হান্নাই বহু সময় ধৰি যিহোৱাৰ ওচৰত প্ৰাৰ্থনা কৰি আছিল, আৰু এলীয়ে তেওঁৰ মুখলৈ লক্ষ্য কৰি আছিল।
As Hannah went on praying before the Lord, Eli watched her mouth.
13 ১৩ সেই সময়ত হান্নাই নিৰৱে হৃদয়ৰ পৰা প্ৰাৰ্থনা কৰি আছিল, তেওঁৰ কেৱল ওঁঠ দুটিহে লৰি আছিল, কিন্তু কোনো শব্দ শুনা নাছিল; সেয়েহে এলীয়ে তেওঁক মতলীয়া হৈছে বুলি ভাবিছিল৷
Hannah was praying in her head, and though her lips were moving, her voice made no sound. Eli thought she must be drunk.
“Do you have to come here drunk?” he asked. “Get rid of your wine!”
15 ১৫ হান্নাই উত্তৰ দি তেওঁক ক’লে, “নহয় মোৰ প্ৰভু, মই এগৰাকী অভাগিনী নাৰী, মোৰ আত্মা দুখেৰে পৰিপূৰ্ণ, মই দ্ৰাক্ষাৰস বা কোনো ৰাগীয়াল দ্ৰব্য পান কৰা নাই, কিন্তু যিহোৱাৰ আগত মোৰ মনৰ কথা ব্যক্ত কৰিছোঁ।
“It's not that, my lord,” Hannah replied. “I'm a very miserable woman. I haven't been drinking wine or beer; I'm just pouring my heart out to the Lord.
16 ১৬ আপোনাৰ এই দাসীক দুষ্ট তিৰোতা বুলি নাভাবিব; মোক নানা কথাৰে বিৰক্ত কৰাত, বেজাৰ পাই অসন্তুষ্ট মনেৰে মই যিহোৱাৰ সৈতে কথা পাতি আছিলোঁ।”
Please don't think I'm a bad woman! I have been praying because of all my troubles and grief.”
17 ১৭ এলীয়ে উত্তৰ দি তেওঁক ক’লে, “তুমি শান্তিৰে যোৱা; ইস্ৰায়েলৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাৰ আগত তুমি যি নিবেদন কৰিলা, সেয়া তেওঁ গ্ৰহণ কৰক।”
“Go in peace, and may the God of Israel give you what you have asked him for,” Eli replied.
18 ১৮ তেতিয়া তেওঁ ক’লে, “আপোনাৰ দৃষ্টিত আপোনাৰ দাসী অনুগ্ৰহপ্ৰাপ্ত হওক।” তাৰ পাছত হান্না সেই ঠাইৰ পৰা ওলাই গৈ আহাৰ গ্ৰহণ কৰিলে; আৰু তেওঁৰ মুখ কেতিয়াও বিবৰ্ণ নহ’ল।
“Thank you for your kindness to your servant,” she said. Then she went on her way, had something to eat, and she didn't look sad any more.
19 ১৯ পাছত তেওঁলোক পুৱাতে উঠি যিহোৱাৰ আগত প্ৰণিপাত কৰি নিজ ঘৰ ৰামালৈ উভটি গ’ল৷ পাছত ইলকানাই নিজ ভাৰ্যা হান্নাৰ সৈতে শয়ন কৰাত যিহোৱাই তেওঁৰ নিবেদনৰ উত্তৰ দিলে।
Elkanah and Hannah got up early the next morning to worship the Lord and then they went home to Ramah. Elkanah made love to his wife Hannah, and the Lord honored her request.
20 ২০ পাছত হান্নাই গৰ্ভধাৰণ কৰিলে, আৰু নিৰ্দিষ্ট সময়ত এটি পুত্ৰ প্ৰসৱ কৰিলে। তেওঁ তাক চমূৱেল বুলি মাতিলে, আৰু ক’লে, “কাৰণ মই যিহোৱাৰ পৰা ইয়াক খুজিছিলোঁ৷”
In due course she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel, saying, “Because I asked the Lord for him.”
21 ২১ আকৌ ইলকানা আৰু তেওঁৰ আটাই পৰিয়ালে যিহোৱাৰ উদ্দেশ্যে বাৰ্ষিক বলিদান কৰিবৰ বাবে আৰু নিজৰ সংকল্প সিদ্ধ কৰিবলৈ গ’ল।
Elkanah and all his family went to make the yearly sacrifice to the Lord and to fulfill his vow.
22 ২২ কিন্তু হান্না তেওঁলোকৰ লগত নগ’ল; তেওঁ তেওঁৰ স্বামীক ক’লে, “সন্তানটিয়ে যাতে যিহোৱাৰ গৃহত সদায় থাকিব পাৰে, তাৰ বাবে মই সন্তানটিয়ে পিয়াহ এৰাৰ পাছতহে তাক লৈ মই যিহোৱাৰ গৃহলৈ যাম।”
But Hannah did not go. She told her husband, “Once the boy is weaned I will take him to be presented to the Lord and to remain there forever.”
23 ২৩ তেতিয়া তেওঁৰ স্বামী ইলকানাই তেওঁক ক’লে, “তুমি যি ভাল দেখা, তাকে কৰা। পিয়াহ নেৰালৈকে তুমি অপেক্ষা কৰা। যিহোৱাই নিজ বাক্য সিদ্ধ কৰক।” সেয়ে সন্তানটিয়ে পিয়াহ নেৰালৈকে হান্না ঘৰতে থাকিল৷
“Do as you see fit,” her husband Elkanah replied. “Stay here until you have weaned him. May the Lord fulfill what he has said.” So Hannah stayed behind and nursed her son until she had weaned him.
24 ২৪ সন্তানটিয়ে পিয়াহ এৰাৰ পাছত, তেওঁ তিনি বছৰীয়া এটা ভতৰা গৰু, এক ঐফা আটাগুৰি, আৰু এক বটল দ্ৰাক্ষাৰস লৈ চীলোত থকা যিহোৱাৰ গৃহলৈ লৈ গ’ল। সেই সময়ত সন্তানটি বয়সত সৰু আছিল।
When she had weaned him, Hannah took the boy with her, along with a three-year-old bull, an ephah of flour, and a wineskin containing wine. Even though the boy was young, she brought him to the Lord's Temple at Shiloh.
After they had slaughtered the bull, they presented the boy to Eli.
26 ২৬ হান্নাই এলীক ক’লে, “হে মোৰ প্ৰভু, আপোনাৰ উদ্দেশ্যে এই ঠাইত থিয় হৈ প্ৰাৰ্থনা কৰা মহিলা গৰাকী ময়েই।
“Please, my lord,” said Hannah, “as surely as you live, my lord, I am the woman who stood here with you praying to the Lord.
27 ২৭ এই সন্তানটিৰ উদ্দেশ্যে মই প্ৰাৰ্থনা কৰিছিলোঁ; আৰু যিহোৱাৰ আগত মই যি খুজিছিলোঁ, সেয়া তেওঁ মোক দিলে।
I prayed for this boy, and since the Lord has given me what I asked him for,
28 ২৮ সেয়ে মই যিহোৱালৈ সন্তানটিক উৎসৰ্গ কৰিলোঁ। জীৱনৰ শেষলৈকে তাক যিহোৱাৰ উদ্দেশ্যে দিয়া হ’ল।” ইলকানা আৰু তেওঁৰ পৰিয়ালে সেই ঠাইত যিহোৱাৰ প্ৰশংসা কৰিলে।
now I'm giving him to the Lord. As long as he lives he will be dedicated to the Lord.” And he worshiped the Lord there.
