ՂՈԻԿԱՍ 5
1 Երբ բազմութիւնը խռնուեցաւ անոր շուրջը՝ Աստուծոյ խօսքը լսելու համար, ինք Գեննեսարէթի ծովակին եզերքը կանգնած էր,
Now it happened, as he stood by the lake Gennesareth, the multitude pressing upon him to hear the word of God;
2 ու տեսաւ երկու նաւեր՝ որ ծովակին եզերքը կեցած էին, եւ ձկնորսները՝ անոնցմէ իջած՝ ուռկանները կը լուային:
that seeing two barks aground, near the shore, the fishermen having landed to wash their nets,
3 Ինք մտաւ այդ նաւերէն մէկուն մէջ՝ որ Սիմոնինն էր, խնդրեց անկէ՝ որ քիչ մը ցամաքէն ծովուն մէջ տանի. ու նստելով նաւուն մէջ՝ կը սորվեցնէր բազմութիւններուն:
he went aboard one of them, which was Simon's; and desiring him to put off a little from the land, sat down, and taught the people out of the bark.
4 Երբ դադրեցաւ խօսելէն՝ ըսաւ Սիմոնի. «Յառա՛ջ տար նաւը՝ դէպի խորունկը, եւ նետեցէ՛ք ձեր ուռկանները՝ ձուկ որսալու»:
When he had done speaking, he said to Simon, Launch out into deep water, and let down your nets for a draught.
5 Սիմոն պատասխանեց անոր. «Վարդապե՛տ, ամբողջ գիշերը աշխատեցանք ու ոչինչ որսացինք. բայց կը նետեմ ուռկանը՝ քու խօսքիդ համար»:
Simon answered, Master, we have toiled all night, and have caught nothing; nevertheless, at your word, I will let down the net.
6 Երբ ատիկա ըրին՝ մեծ քանակութեամբ ձուկ բռնեցին, եւ իրենց ուռկանը կը պատռտէր:
Having done this, they inclosed such a multitude of fishes, that the net began to break.
7 Նշան կ՚ընէին միւս նաւուն մէջ եղող իրենց ընկերակիցներուն, որ գան՝ օգնեն իրենց: Եկան ու երկու նաւերն ալ լեցուցին, եւ գրեթէ ընկղմելու մօտ էին:
And they beckoned to their companions, in the other bark, to come and help them. And they came, and loaded both their barks, so that they were near sinking.
8 Երբ Սիմոն Պետրոս տեսաւ, ինկաւ Յիսուսի ծունկերուն ու ըսաւ. «Տէ՛ր, հեռացի՛ր իմ քովէս, քանի որ ես մեղաւոր մարդ մըն եմ»:
When Simon Peter saw this, he threw himself at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man.
9 Որովհետեւ այլայլած էր, ինչպէս նաեւ բոլոր իրեն հետ եղողները, իրենց բռնած ձուկերու առատութեան համար.
For the draught of fishes which they had taken had filled him and all his companions with terror,
10 նոյնպէս ալ Զեբեդէոսի որդիները՝ Յակոբոս եւ Յովհաննէս, որոնք Սիմոնի ընկերներն էին: Յիսուս ըսաւ Սիմոնի. «Մի՛ վախնար, ասկէ ետք մարդո՛ց որսորդ՝՝ պիտի ըլլաս»:
particularly James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were Simon's partners. And Jesus said to Simon, Fear not, henceforth you shall catch men.
11 Ու նաւերը ցամաք հանելով՝ թողուցին ամէն ինչ եւ հետեւեցան անոր:
And having brought their barks to land, they forsook all, and followed him.
12 Երբ ինք քաղաքի մը մէջ էր՝ ահա՛ մարդ մը, բորոտութեամբ լեցուն, տեսնելով Յիսուսը՝ ինկաւ երեսի վրայ, աղերսեց անոր եւ ըսաւ. «Տէ՛ր, եթէ ուզես՝ կրնա՛ս մաքրել զիս»:
When he was in one of the neighboring cities, a man covered with leprosy, happened to see him, threw himself on his face, and besought him, saying, Master, if you will, you can cleanse me.
13 Յիսուս երկարելով իր ձեռքը՝ դպաւ անոր ու ըսաւ. «Կ՚ուզե՛մ, մաքրուէ՛». եւ իսկոյն բորոտութիւնը գնաց անկէ:
Jesus stretching out his hand, and touching him, said, I will; be you cleansed. That instant his leprosy departed from him.
14 Ինք պատուիրեց անոր՝ որ ո՛չ մէկուն ըսէ, հապա՝ ըսաւ. «Գնա՛, ցո՛յց տուր քեզ քահանային, եւ Մովսէսի պատուիրածին համաձայն՝ մատուցանէ՛ քու մաքրուելուդ ընծան, իբր վկայութիւն անոնց»:
And he commanded him to tell no person. But go, said he, show yourself to the priest, and present the offered appointed by Moses, for notifying the people that you are cleansed.
15 Սակայն անոր համբաւը ա՛լ աւելի կը տարածուէր. ու մեծ բազմութիւններ կը համախմբուէին՝ մտիկ ընելու եւ բուժուելու իրենց հիւանդութիւններէն:
Yet so much the more was Jesus everywhere talked of, that vast multitudes flocked to hear him, and to be cured by him of their maladies.
16 Բայց ինք կը քաշուէր ամայի տեղեր ու կ՚աղօթէր:
And he withdrew into solitary places, and prayed.
17 Օր մը՝ ինք կը սորվեցնէր, ու Փարիսեցիներ եւ Օրէնքի վարդապետներ նստած էին, - որոնք ժողվուած էին Գալիլեայի, Հրէաստանի ու Երուսաղէմի բոլոր գիւղերէն, - եւ Տէրոջ զօրութիւնը ներկայ էր բժշկելու համար՝՝:
One day, as he was teaching, and Pharisees, and doctors of law, who had come from Jerusalem, and from every town of Galilee and Judea, were sitting by, the power of the Lord was exerted in the sure of the sick.
18 Եւ ահա՛ քանի մը մարդիկ բերին անդամալոյծ մարդ մը՝ մահիճով, ու կը ջանային ներս մտցնել զայն եւ դնել անոր առջեւ:
And, behold, some men carrying on a bed a man afflicted with a palsy, endeavored to bring him in, and place him before Jesus;
19 Երբ բազմութեան պատճառով չկրցան ճամբայ գտնել՝ որ ներս մտցնեն զայն, ելան տանիքը, եւ կղմինտրներուն մէջէն՝ մահիճով իջեցուցին զայն մէջտեղը, Յիսուսի առջեւ:
but finding it impracticable, by reason of the crowd, they got upon the roof, and let him down through the tiling, with the little bed, in the midst before him.
20 Ան ալ՝ տեսնելով անոնց հաւատքը՝ ըսաւ անոր. «Մա՛րդ, մեղքերդ ներուած են քեզի»:
Jesus perceiving their faith, said, Man, your sins are forgiven you.
21 Դպիրներն ու Փարիսեցիները սկսան մտածել՝ ըսելով. «Ո՞վ է ասիկա՝ որ հայհոյութիւններ կ՚ըսէ: Ո՞վ կրնայ մեղքերը ներել՝ բացի Աստուծմէ՝՝»:
On which the Scribes and the Pharisees reasoned thus, Who is this that speaks blasphemies? Can any one forgive sins except God?
22 Երբ Յիսուս ըմբռնեց անոնց մտածումները՝ պատասխանեց անոնց. «Ի՞նչ կը մտածէք ձեր սիրտերուն մէջ:
Jesus knowing their thoughts, addressed himself to them, and said, What are you reasoning in your hearts?
23 Ո՞րը աւելի դիւրին է, “մեղքերդ ներուած են քեզի” ըսե՞լը, թէ՝ “ոտքի՛ ելիր ու քալէ՛” ըսելը:
Which is easier, to say, Your sins are forgiven you; or to say, Arise, and walk?
24 Բայց որպէսզի գիտնաք թէ մարդու Որդին իշխանութիւն ունի՝ երկրի վրայ մեղքերը ներելու, (ըսաւ անդամալոյծին, ) քեզի՛ կ՚ըսեմ. “Ոտքի՛ ելիր, ա՛ռ մահիճդ ու գնա՛ տունդ”»:
But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins, Arise, said he to the palsied man, take up your bed, and return to your house.
25 Ան ալ անմի՛ջապէս կանգնեցաւ անոնց առջեւ, վրան առաւ ինչ բանի վրայ որ պառկած էր, եւ գնաց իր տունը՝ փառաբանելով Աստուած:
That instant he rose in their presence, took up his bed, and returned home, glorifying God.
26 Բոլորը՝ հիացումով համակուած՝ փառաբանեցին Աստուած, ու վախով համակուած՝ կ՚ըսէին. «Այսօր արտակարգ բաներ տեսանք»:
Seeing this, they were all struck with amazement and reverence, and glorified God, saying, We have seen wonderful things to-day.
27 Ատկէ ետք՝ մեկնեցաւ, եւ տեսաւ մաքսաւոր մը՝ որուն անունը Ղեւի էր. ան նստած էր մաքս ընդունելու տեղը: Ըսաւ անոր. «Հետեւէ՛ ինծի»:
After this, he went out, and observing a publican, named Levi, sitting at the toll-office, said to him, Follow me.
28 Ան ալ ձգեց ամէն ինչ, կանգնեցաւ եւ անոր հետեւեցաւ:
And he arose, left all, and followed him.
29 Ղեւի մեծ կոչունք մը սարքեց իր տան մէջ. ու մեծ բազմութիւն կար մաքսաւորներու եւ ուրիշներու, որ անոնց հետ սեղան նստած՝՝ էին:
And Levi made him a great entertainment in his own house, where there was a great company of publicans and others, at table with them.
30 Անոնց դպիրներն ու Փարիսեցիները կը տրտնջէին անոր աշակերտներուն դէմ՝ ըսելով. «Ինչո՞ւ կ՚ուտէք ու կը խմէք մաքսաւորներու եւ մեղաւորներու հետ»:
But the Scribes and the Pharisees of the place murmured, saying to his disciples, Why do you eat and drink with publicans and sinners?
31 Յիսուս պատասխանեց անոնց. «Ո՛չ թէ առողջներուն բժիշկ պէտք է, հապա՝ հիւանդներուն:
Jesus answering, said to them, It is not the healthy, but the sick, who need a physician.
32 Ես եկայ ո՛չ թէ արդարները կանչելու, հապա մեղաւորները՝ ապաշխարութեան»:
I am come to call, not the righteous, but sinners, to reformation.
33 Անոնք ալ ըսին. «Ինչո՞ւ Յովհաննէսի աշակերտները յաճախ ծոմ կը պահեն եւ աղերսանք կը մատուցանեն, նմանապէս Փարիսեցիներուն աշակերտները, բայց քուկիններդ կ՚ուտեն ու կը խմեն»:
Then they asked him, How is it that the disciples of John, and likewise those of the Pharisees, frequently fast and pray, but yours eat and drink?
34 Ան ալ ըսաւ անոնց. «Կրնա՞ք ծոմ պահել տալ հարսնեւորներուն՝ մինչ փեսան իրենց հետ է:
He answered, Would you have the bridemen fast, while the bridegroom is with them?
35 Բայց օրերը պիտի գան՝ երբ փեսան պիտի վերցուի իրենցմէ. ապա ա՛յդ օրերը ծոմ պիտի պահեն»:
But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them: in those days they will fast.
36 Առակ մըն ալ ըսաւ անոնց. «Ո՛չ մէկը կը ձգէ նոր լաթի կտոր մը հին հանդերձի վրայ: Այլապէս՝ այդ նորը պատռուածք ալ կ՚ընէ, ու հինցածին հետ չի յարմարիր այդ նոր լաթէն եղած կտորը:
He added this similitude, No man mends an old mantle with new cloth; otherwise the new will rend the old; besides, the old and new will never suit each other.
37 Նաեւ ո՛չ մէկը կը դնէ նոր գինին հին տիկերու մէջ: Այլապէս՝ նոր գինին կը պատռէ տիկերը. ինք կը թափի, ու տիկերը կը կորսուին:
No person puts new wine into old leather bottles; otherwise, the new wine will burst the bottles, and thus the wine will be spoiled, and the bottles rendered useless.
38 Հապա նոր գինին դրուելու է նո՛ր տիկերու մէջ, որպէսզի երկուքն ալ պահուին:
But if new wine be put into new bottles, both will be preserved.
39 Եւ ո՛չ մէկը հին գինին խմելէն ետք՝ իսկոյն կ՚ուզէ նորը, քանի որ կ՚ըսէ. “Հինը աւելի ախորժահամ է”»:
Besides, a man, after drinking old wine, calls not immediately for new; for he says, The old is milder.
