| ܘܗܘܝܬ ܡܥܗܕ ܠܗܘܢ ܕܠܪܫܐ ܘܠܫܠܝܛܢܐ ܢܫܬܡܥܘܢ ܘܢܫܬܥܒܕܘܢ ܘܕܢܗܘܘܢ ܥܬܝܕܝܢ ܠܟܠ ܥܒܕ ܛܒ | 1 |
Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work,
| ܘܥܠ ܐܢܫ ܠܐ ܢܓܕܦܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܢܗܘܘܢ ܡܬܟܬܫܝܢ ܐܠܐ ܢܗܘܘܢ ܡܟܝܟܝܢ ܘܒܟܠܡܕܡ ܢܚܘܘܢ ܒܤܝܡܘܬܗܘܢ ܠܘܬ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܒܢܝܢܫܐ | 2 |
to slander no one, and to be peaceable and considerate, always showing gentleness toward everyone.
| ܐܦ ܚܢܢ ܓܝܪ ܡܢ ܩܕܝܡ ܕܠܐ ܪܥܝܢܐ ܗܘܝܢ ܘܕܠܐ ܦܝܤܐ ܘܛܥܝܢ ܗܘܝܢ ܘܡܫܥܒܕܝܢ ܗܘܝܢ ܠܐܪܓܝܓܬܐ ܡܫܚܠܦܬܐ ܘܒܒܝܫܘܬܐ ܘܒܚܤܡܐ ܡܬܗܦܟܝܢ ܗܘܝܢ ܘܤܢܝܐܝܝܢ ܗܘܝܢ ܐܦ ܚܕ ܠܚܕ ܤܢܝܢ ܗܘܝܢ | 3 |
For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, and enslaved to various lusts and pleasures. Living in wickedness and envy, we were loathsome and hated one another.

But when the kindness of God our Savior and his love for mankind appeared,
| ܠܐ ܒܥܒܕܐ ܕܙܕܝܩܘܬܐ ܕܥܒܕܢ ܐܠܐ ܒܪܚܡܘܗܝ ܕܝܠܗ ܐܚܝܢ ܒܤܚܬܐ ܕܡܘܠܕܐ ܕܡܢ ܕܪܝܫ ܘܒܚܘܕܬܐ ܕܪܘܚܐ ܕܩܘܕܫܐ | 5 |
he saved us, not because of any righteous works we had done, but according to his mercy, through the washing of regeneration and the renewal of the Holy Spirit.

He richly poured out his Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior,
| ܕܒܛܝܒܘܬܗ ܢܙܕܕܩ ܘܢܗܘܐ ܝܪܬܐ ܒܤܒܪܐ ܒܚܝܐ ܕܠܥܠܡ (aiōnios g166) | 7 |
so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
| ܡܗܝܡܢܐ ܗܝ ܡܠܬܐ ܘܒܗܠܝܢ ܨܒܐ ܐܢܐ ܕܐܦ ܐܢܬ ܗܘܝܬ ܡܫܪܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܕܢܬܒܛܠ ܠܗܘܢ ܠܡܦܠܚ ܥܒܕܐ ܛܒܐ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܗܝܡܢܘ ܒܐܠܗܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܐܢܝܢ ܛܒܢ ܘܡܘܬܪܢ ܠܒܢܝܢܫܐ | 8 |
This saying is trustworthy. I want yoʋ to insist on these things, so that those who have put their trust in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works. These things are good and beneficial for people.
| ܡܢ ܒܥܬܐ ܕܝܢ ܤܟܠܬܐ ܘܡܢ ܬܫܥܝܬܐ ܕܫܪܒܬܐ ܘܡܢ ܚܪܝܢܐ ܘܡܢ ܬܟܬܘܫܐ ܕܤܦܪܐ ܐܫܬܐܠ ܝܘܬܪܢ ܓܝܪ ܠܝܬ ܒܗܝܢ ܘܤܪܝܩܢ ܐܢܝܢ | 9 |
But avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, quarrels, and disputes about the law, for they are unprofitable and futile.
| ܡܢ ܓܒܪܐ ܗܪܤܝܘܛܐ ܡܢ ܒܬܪ ܚܕܐ ܙܒܢ ܘܬܪܬܝܢ ܕܡܪܬܐ ܐܢܬ ܠܗ ܐܫܬܐܠ | 10 |
Reject a divisive person after a first and second warning.
| ܘܗܘܝܬ ܝܕܥ ܕܡܢ ܕܗܟܢܐ ܗܘ ܡܥܩܡ ܗܘ ܘܚܛܐ ܘܗܘ ܚܝܒ ܢܦܫܗ | 11 |
For yoʋ know that such a person is corrupted and sinful; he is self-condemned.
| ܡܐ ܕܫܕܪܬ ܠܘܬܟ ܠܐܪܛܡܐ ܐܘ ܠܛܘܟܝܩܘܤ ܢܬܒܛܠ ܠܟ ܕܬܐܬܐ ܠܘܬܝ ܠܢܝܩܦܘܠܝܤ ܬܡܢ ܓܝܪ ܤܡܬ ܒܪܥܝܢܝ ܕܐܤܬܐ | 12 |
When I send Artemas to yoʋ, or Tychicus, make every effort to come to me at Nicopolis, for I have decided to spend the winter there.

Do everything yoʋ can to help Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their way, and make sure they lack nothing.
| ܘܢܐܠܦܘܢ ܐܦ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܕܝܠܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܕܢܗܘܘܢ ܦܠܚܝܢ ܥܒܕܐ ܛܒܐ ܒܨܒܘܬܐ ܕܐܠܨܢ ܕܠܐ ܢܗܘܘܢ ܕܠܐ ܦܐܪܐ | 14 |
Our people must learn to devote themselves to good works in order to meet pressing needs, so that they will not be unfruitful.
