| ܪܫܐ ܕܐܘܢܓܠܝܘܢ ܕܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܒܪܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ | 1 |
The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
| ܐܝܟ ܕܟܬܝܒ ܒܐܫܥܝܐ ܢܒܝܐ ܗܐ ܡܫܕܪ ܐܢܐ ܡܠܐܟܝ ܩܕܡ ܦܪܨܘܦܟ ܕܢܬܩܢ ܐܘܪܚܟ | 2 |
As has been written in the prophets; Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, who will prepare thy way before thee;
| ܩܠܐ ܕܩܪܐ ܒܡܕܒܪܐ ܛܝܒܘ ܐܘܪܚܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܘܐܫܘܘ ܫܒܝܠܘܗܝ | 3 |
the voice of one roaring in the wilderness; Prepare ye the way of the Lord; make His paths straight.
| ܗܘܐ ܝܘܚܢܢ ܒܡܕܒܪܐ ܡܥܡܕ ܘܡܟܪܙ ܡܥܡܘܕܝܬܐ ܕܬܝܒܘܬܐ ܠܫܘܒܩܢܐ ܕܚܛܗܐ | 4 |
John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness the baptism of repentance unto the remission of sins.
| ܘܢܦܩܐ ܗܘܬ ܠܘܬܗ ܟܠܗ ܟܘܪ ܕܝܗܘܕ ܘܟܠܗܘܢ ܒܢܝ ܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܘܡܥܡܕ ܗܘܐ ܠܗܘܢ ܒܝܘܪܕܢܢ ܟܕ ܡܘܕܝܢ ܒܚܛܗܝܗܘܢ | 5 |
And all the Judean country and the Jerusalemites were going out unto him, and were being baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.
| ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܝܘܚܢܢ ܠܒܝܫ ܗܘܐ ܠܒܘܫܐ ܕܤܥܪܐ ܕܓܡܠܐ ܘܐܤܝܪ ܗܘܐ ܥܪܩܬܐ ܕܡܫܟܐ ܒܚܨܘܗܝ ܘܡܐܟܘܠܬܗ ܐܝܬܝܗ ܗܘܬ ܩܡܨܐ ܘܕܒܫܐ ܕܒܪܐ | 6 |
And John was clothed with camel's hair and a leathern girdle about his loins, and eating locusts and wild honey;
| ܘܡܟܪܙ ܗܘܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܗܐ ܐܬܐ ܒܬܪܝ ܕܚܝܠܬܢ ܡܢܝ ܗܘ ܕܠܐ ܫܘܐ ܐܢܐ ܕܐܓܗܢ ܐܫܪܐ ܥܪܩܐ ܕܡܤܢܘܗܝ | 7 |
And he proclaimed, saying, I indeed baptized you with water; but One cometh after me more powerful than I; the latchet of His sandals I am not worthy, having stooped down, to loose,
| ܐܢܐ ܐܥܡܕܬܟܘܢ ܒܡܝܐ ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܢܥܡܕܟܘܢ ܒܪܘܚܐ ܕܩܘܕܫܐ | 8 |
and He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.
| ܘܗܘܐ ܒܝܘܡܬܐ ܗܢܘܢ ܐܬܐ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܢ ܢܨܪܬ ܕܓܠܝܠܐ ܘܐܬܥܡܕ ܒܝܘܪܕܢܢ ܡܢ ܝܘܚܢܢ | 9 |
And it came to pass in those days, Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
| ܘܡܚܕܐ ܕܤܠܩ ܡܢ ܡܝܐ ܚܙܐ ܕܐܤܬܕܩܘ ܫܡܝܐ ܘܪܘܚܐ ܐܝܟ ܝܘܢܐ ܕܢܚܬܬ ܥܠܘܗܝ | 10 |
And coming up straightway from the water, He saw the heavens open and the Spirit like a dove descending on Him.
| ܘܩܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܡܢ ܫܡܝܐ ܐܢܬ ܗܘ ܒܪܝ ܚܒܝܒܐ ܒܟ ܐܨܛܒܝܬ | 11 |
And there was a voice from the heavens: Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I delight.
| ܘܡܚܕܐ ܐܦܩܬܗ ܪܘܚܐ ܠܡܕܒܪܐ | 12 |
And immediately the Spirit casts Him out into the wilderness.
| ܘܗܘܐ ܬܡܢ ܒܡܕܒܪܐ ܝܘܡܬܐ ܐܪܒܥܝܢ ܟܕ ܡܬܢܤܐ ܡܢ ܤܛܢܐ ܘܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܗܘܐ ܥܡ ܚܝܘܬܐ ܘܡܫܡܫܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܗ ܡܠܐܟܐ | 13 |
And he was in the wilderness forty days being tempted by Satan, and was with the wild beasts; and the angels continued to minister unto Him.
| ܒܬܪ ܕܐܫܬܠܡ ܕܝܢ ܝܘܚܢܢ ܐܬܐ ܠܗ ܝܫܘܥ ܠܓܠܝܠܐ ܘܡܟܪܙ ܗܘܐ ܤܒܪܬܐ ܕܡܠܟܘܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ | 14 |
After that John was cast into prison, Jesus came into Galilee preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,
| ܘܐܡܪ ܫܠܡ ܠܗ ܙܒܢܐ ܘܡܛܬ ܡܠܟܘܬܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܬܘܒܘ ܘܗܝܡܢܘ ܒܤܒܪܬܐ | 15 |
and saying, That the time is fulfilled: the kingdom of God is at hand: repent, and believe the gospel.
| ܘܟܕ ܡܗܠܟ ܚܕܪܝ ܝܡܐ ܕܓܠܝܠܐ ܚܙܐ ܠܫܡܥܘܢ ܘܠܐܢܕܪܐܘܤ ܐܚܘܗܝ ܕܪܡܝܢ ܡܨܝܕܬܐ ܒܝܡܐ ܐܝܬܝܗܘܢ ܗܘܘ ܓܝܪ ܨܝܕܐ | 16 |
And walking by the sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting their net in the sea: for they were fishers.
| ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܬܘ ܒܬܪܝ ܘܐܥܒܕܟܘܢ ܨܝܕܐ ܕܒܢܝ ܐܢܫܐ | 17 |
Jesus said to them, Come after me, and I will make you to be fishers of men.
| ܘܡܚܕܐ ܫܒܩܘ ܡܨܝܕܬܗܘܢ ܘܐܙܠܘ ܒܬܪܗ | 18 |
And immediately, having left their nets, they followed Him.
| ܘܟܕ ܥܒܪ ܩܠܝܠ ܚܙܐ ܠܝܥܩܘܒ ܒܪ ܙܒܕܝ ܘܠܝܘܚܢܢ ܐܚܘܗܝ ܘܐܦ ܠܗܘܢ ܒܤܦܝܢܬܐ ܕܡܬܩܢܝܢ ܡܨܝܕܬܗܘܢ | 19 |
And going forth thence a little, He saw James, the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, themselves also in a ship mending their nets,
| ܘܩܪܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܡܚܕܐ ܫܒܩܘ ܠܙܒܕܝ ܐܒܘܗܘܢ ܒܤܦܝܢܬܐ ܥܡ ܐܓܝܪܐ ܘܐܙܠܘ ܒܬܪܗ | 20 |
and immediately He called them. And having left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired hands, they departed after Him.
| ܘܟܕ ܥܠܘ ܠܟܦܪܢܚܘܡ ܡܚܕܐ ܡܠܦ ܗܘܐ ܒܫܒܐ ܒܟܢܘܫܬܗܘܢ | 21 |
And they come into Capernaum; and immediately on the Sabbath, He was teaching in the synagogue.
| ܘܬܡܝܗܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܒܝܘܠܦܢܗ ܡܠܦ ܗܘܐ ܠܗܘܢ ܓܝܪ ܐܝܟ ܡܫܠܛܐ ܘܠܐ ܐܝܟ ܤܦܪܝܗܘܢ | 22 |
And they were astonished at His teaching; for Ile was teaching them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
| ܘܐܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܒܟܢܘܫܬܗܘܢ ܓܒܪܐ ܕܐܝܬ ܒܗ ܪܘܚܐ ܛܡܐܬܐ ܘܩܥܐ | 23 |
And there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,
| ܘܐܡܪ ܡܐ ܠܢ ܘܠܟ ܝܫܘܥ ܢܨܪܝܐ ܐܬܝܬ ܠܡܘܒܕܘܬܢ ܝܕܥ ܐܢܐ ܠܟ ܡܢ ܐܢܬ ܩܕܝܫܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ | 24 |
saying, Let me alone; what is there to us and thee, thou Jesus, the Nazarene? You have come to destroy us; I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.
| ܘܟܐܐ ܒܗ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܐܡܪ ܤܟܘܪ ܦܘܡܟ ܘܦܘܩ ܡܢܗ | 25 |
And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Be silent, and come out from him.
| ܘܫܕܬܗ ܪܘܚܐ ܛܢܦܬܐ ܘܩܥܬ ܒܩܠܐ ܪܡܐ ܘܢܦܩܬ ܡܢܗ | 26 |
And the unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying with a great voice, came out from him.
| ܘܐܬܕܡܪܘ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܘܒܥܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܚܕ ܥܡ ܚܕ ܘܐܡܪܝܢ ܕܡܢܐ ܗܝ ܗܕܐ ܘܡܢܘ ܝܘܠܦܢܐ ܗܢܐ ܚܕܬܐ ܕܒܫܘܠܛܢܐ ܘܐܦ ܠܪܘܚܐ ܛܢܦܬܐ ܦܩܕ ܘܡܫܬܡܥܢ ܠܗ | 27 |
And they were all astonished, so that they were inquiring one to another, saying, What is this? what new teaching is this? Because according to authority He commands the unclean spirits, and they obey Him;
| ܘܡܚܕܐ ܢܦܩ ܛܒܗ ܒܟܠܗ ܐܬܪܐ ܕܓܠܝܠܐ | 28 |
and His fame went out immediately into all the surrounding country of Galilee.
| ܘܢܦܩܘ ܡܢ ܟܢܘܫܬܐ ܘܐܬܘ ܠܒܝܬܗ ܕܫܡܥܘܢ ܘܕܐܢܕܪܐܘܤ ܥܡ ܝܥܩܘܒ ܘܝܘܚܢܢ | 29 |
And immediately, having come out from the synagogue, they came into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.
| ܘܚܡܬܗ ܕܫܡܥܘܢ ܪܡܝܐ ܗܘܬ ܒܐܫܬܐ ܘܐܡܪܘ ܠܗ ܥܠܝܗ | 30 |
And the mother-in-law of Simon was lying down burning with fever; and immediately they speak to Him concerning her:
| ܘܩܪܒ ܐܚܕܗ ܒܐܝܕܗ ܘܐܩܝܡܗ ܘܡܚܕܐ ܫܒܩܬܗ ܐܫܬܗ ܘܡܫܡܫܐ ܗܘܬ ܠܗܘܢ | 31 |
And having come to her, taking her by the hand, He raised her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she continued to minister unto them.
| ܒܪܡܫܐ ܕܝܢ ܒܡܥܪܒܝ ܫܡܫܐ ܐܝܬܝܘ ܠܘܬܗ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܒܝܫܐܝܬ ܥܒܝܕܝܢ ܘܕܝܘܢܐ | 32 |
And it being evening, when the sun went down, they were carrying to Him all the sick and demonized;
| ܘܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܟܠܗ ܟܢܝܫܐ ܗܘܬ ܥܠ ܬܪܥܐ | 33 |
and the whole city was gathered to the door.
| ܘܐܤܝ ܠܤܓܝܐܐ ܕܒܝܫܐܝܬ ܥܒܝܕܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܒܟܘܪܗܢܐ ܡܫܚܠܦܐ ܘܕܝܘܐ ܤܓܝܐܐ ܐܦܩ ܘܠܐ ܫܒܩ ܗܘܐ ܠܗܘܢ ܠܕܝܘܐ ܕܢܡܠܠܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܝܕܥܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܗ | 34 |
And He healed many who were afflicted with various diseases, and He cast out many demons; and did not suffer the demons to speak, because they knew Him.
| ܘܒܨܦܪܐ ܩܕܡ ܩܡ ܛܒ ܘܐܙܠ ܠܐܬܪܐ ܚܘܪܒܐ ܘܬܡܢ ܡܨܠܐ ܗܘܐ | 35 |
And in the morning, exceedingly early, while it was yet night, having arisen up He came out, and went away into a desert place, and was praying there.
| ܘܒܥܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܗ ܫܡܥܘܢ ܘܕܥܡܗ | 36 |
And Simon and those who were with him followed Him.
| ܘܟܕ ܐܫܟܚܘܗܝ ܐܡܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܐܢܫܐ ܒܥܝܢ ܠܟ | 37 |
And they found Him, and say to Him, All are seeking after thee.
| ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܗܠܟܘ ܠܩܘܪܝܐ ܘܠܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܕܩܪܝܒܢ ܕܐܦ ܬܡܢ ܐܟܪܙ ܠܗܕܐ ܓܝܪ ܐܬܝܬ | 38 |
And He says to them, Let us go into the surrounding villages and cities, that I may preach there; for unto this I have come out.
| ܘܡܟܪܙ ܗܘܐ ܒܟܠܗܝܢ ܟܢܘܫܬܗܘܢ ܒܟܠܗ ܓܠܝܠܐ ܘܡܦܩ ܫܐܕܐ | 39 |
And He was preaching in their synagogues in all Galilee, and casting out the demons.
| ܘܐܬܐ ܠܘܬܗ ܓܪܒܐ ܘܢܦܠ ܥܠ ܪܓܠܘܗܝ ܘܒܥܐ ܗܘܐ ܡܢܗ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܐܢ ܨܒܐ ܐܢܬ ܡܫܟܚ ܐܢܬ ܠܡܕܟܝܘܬܝ | 40 |
And a leper comes to Him, entreating Him, and bowing the knee to Him, and saying to Him, That if thou mayest be willing, thou art able to cleanse me.
| ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܐܬܪܚܡ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܘܦܫܛ ܐܝܕܗ ܩܪܒ ܠܗ ܘܐܡܪ ܨܒܐ ܐܢܐ ܐܬܕܟܐ | 41 |
And Jesus being moved with compassion, reaching forth His hand, touched him, and says to him, I will; be thou cleansed.
| ܘܒܗ ܒܫܥܬܐ ܐܙܠ ܓܪܒܗ ܡܢܗ ܘܐܬܕܟܝ | 42 |
And He speaking, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.
| ܘܟܐܐ ܒܗ ܘܐܦܩܗ | 43 |
And charging him, He immediately sent him away,
| ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܚܙܝ ܠܡܐ ܠܐܢܫ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܬ ܐܠܐ ܙܠ ܚܘܐ ܢܦܫܟ ܠܟܗܢܐ ܘܩܪܒ ܩܘܪܒܢܐ ܚܠܦ ܬܕܟܝܬܟ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܦܩܕ ܡܘܫܐ ܠܤܗܕܘܬܗܘܢ | 44 |
and says to him, See that you may speak nothing to any one: but go, show thyself unto the priest, and offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
| ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܟܕ ܢܦܩ ܫܪܝ ܗܘܐ ܡܟܪܙ ܤܓܝ ܘܐܛܒܗ ܠܡܠܬܐ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܠܐ ܢܫܟܚ ܗܘܐ ܝܫܘܥ ܓܠܝܐܝܬ ܕܢܥܘܠ ܠܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܐܠܐ ܠܒܪ ܗܘܐ ܒܐܬܪܐ ܚܘܪܒܐ ܘܐܬܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܘܬܗ ܡܢ ܟܠ ܕܘܟܐ | 45 |
And he having gone out, began to proclaim many things, and to publish abroad the word, so that He was no longer able openly to come into the city, but was out in desert places: and they continued to come to Him from all directions.
