زَكَريّا 3

١ 1 ثُمَّ أَرَانِي الرَّبُّ يَهُوشَعَ رَئِيسَ الْكَهَنَةِ وَاقِفاً فِي حَضْرَةِ مَلاكِ الرَّبِّ، وَعَنْ يَمِينِهِ يَنْتَصِبُ الشَّيْطَانُ لِيُقَاوِمَهُ.

And he showed me Joshua, the high-priest, standing before the angel of Jehovah, and the adversary standing at his right hand, to accuse him.

٢ 2 فَقَالَ الرَّبُّ لِلشَّيْطَانِ: «إِنَّ الرَّبَّ يَنْتَهِرُكَ يَا شَيْطَانُ، الرَّبُّ الَّذِي اصْطَفَى أُورُشَلِيمَ يَنْتَهِرُكَ، أَلَيْسَ هَذَا الرَّجُلُ كَحَطَبَةٍ مُشْتَعِلَةٍ انْتُشِلَتْ مِنَ النَّارِ؟»

And Jehovah said to the adversary: — Jehovah rebuke thee, thou adversary, Even Jehovah, who hath chosen Jerusalem, rebuke thee! Is not this man a brand plucked out of the fire?

٣ 3 وَكَانَ يَهُوشَعُ آنَئِذٍ وَاقِفاً فِي حَضْرَةِ الْمَلاكِ مُرْتَدِياً ثِيَاباً قَذِرَةً.

Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel.

٤ 4 فَقَالَ الْمَلاكُ لِلْمَاثِلِينَ فِي حَضْرَتِهِ: «اخْلَعُوا عَنْهُ هَذِهِ الثِّيَابَ الْقَذِرَةَ». ثُمَّ قَالَ لِيَهُوشَعَ: «انْظُرْ، هَا أَنَا قَدْ أَزَلْتُ عَنْكَ إِثْمَكَ وَكَسَوْتُكَ ثَوْباً جَدِيداً».

And he [[the angel]] spake and said to them [[the angels]] that stood before him, saying, Take off the filthy garments from him. And to him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and will clothe thee with goodly apparel.

٥ 5 ثُمَّ أَضَافَ: «ضَعُوا عِمَامَةً طَاهِرَةً عَلَى رَأْسِهِ». فَوَضَعُوا الْعِمَامَةَ الطَّاهِرَةَ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ وَكَسَوْهُ ثِيَاباً بَهِيَّةً، وَمَلاكُ الرَّبِّ مَا بَرِحَ وَاقِفاً.

And I said, Let them set a fair mitre upon his head! And they set a fair mitre upon his head, and clothed him with garments. And the angel of Jehovah stood by.

٦ 6 وَأَشْهَدَ مَلاكُ الرَّبِّ عَلَى يَهُوشَعَ قَائِلاً:

And the angel of Jehovah declared to Joshua and said:

٧ 7 «هَذَا مَا يَقُولُهُ الرَّبُّ الْقَدِيرُ: إِنْ سَلَكْتَ فِي طَرِيقِي وَأَطَعْتَ أَوَامِرِي، فَأَنْتَ أَيْضاً تَتَوَلَّى شُؤُونَ هَيْكَلِي وَتُحَافِظُ عَلَى دِيَارِي، وَأَمْنَحُكَ مَقَاماً بَيْنَ هَؤُلاءِ الْمَاثِلِينَ فِي حَضْرَتِي.

Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: If thou wilt walk in my ways, And if thou wilt keep my charge, Then thou shalt also rule my house, And shalt also keep my courts, And I will give thee guides among these that stand by.

٨ 8 فَأَصْغِ يَا يَهُوشَعُ رَئِيسُ الْكَهَنَةِ أَنْتَ وَسَائِرُ رِفَاقِكَ الْكَهَنَةِ الْجَالِسِينَ أَمَامَكَ. أَنْتُمْ رِجَالُ آيَةٍ وَهَا أَنَا آتِي بِعَبْدِي الَّذِي يُدْعَى الْغُصْنُ.

Hear now, O Joshua, high-priest, Thou and thy companions, who sit before thee! For they are men that are signs. For, behold, I will cause to come my servant, the Branch.

٩ 9 هَا هُوَ الْحَجَرُ الَّذِي وَضَعْتُهُ أَمَامَ يَهُوشَعَ، تَحْرُسُهُ سَبْعُ أَعْيُنٍ، قَدْ شَذَّبْتُهُ تَشْذِيباً وَكَتَبْتُ عَلَيْهِ»، يَقُولُ الرَّبُّ الْقَدِيرُ: «وَأُزِيلُ إِثْمَ هَذِهِ الأَرْضِ فِي يَوْمٍ وَاحِدٍ».

For, behold, the stone which I have laid before Joshua, Upon this one stone shall be seven eyes; Behold, I will engrave the graving thereof, saith Jehovah of hosts; And I will remove the iniquity of this land in one day.

١٠ 10 وَيَقُولُ الرَّبُّ الْقَدِيرُ: «فِي ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ يَدْعُو كُلٌّ مِنْكُمْ صَدِيقَهُ لِيَسْتَرِيحَ تَحْتَ كَرْمَتِهِ وَفِي ظِلِّ تِينَتِهِ».

In that day, saith Jehovah of hosts, Shall ye invite every one his neighbor Under the vine and under the fig-tree.
