المَزامِير 8

١ 1 إِلَى قَائِدِ الْمُنْشِدِينَ عَلَى الْجَتِّيَّةِ. مَزْمُورٌ لِدَاوُدَ أَيُّهَا الرَّبُّ سَيِّدُنَا، مَا أَعْظَمَ اسْمَكَ فِي كُلِّ الأَرْضِ، بِهِ بَسَطْتَ جَلالَكَ فَوْقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ.

“For the leader of the music; to be accompanied with the gittith. A psalm of David.” O Jehovah, our Lord! How excellent is thy name in all the earth! Thou hast set thy glory above the heavens.

٢ 2 مِنْ أَفْوَاهِ الأَطْفَالِ وَالرُّضَّعِ أَسَّسْتَ حَمْداً، لإِفْحَامِ خُصُومِكَ، وَإِسْكَاتِ عَدُوٍّ وَمُنْتَقِمٍ.

Out of the mouths of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained praise, To put thine adversaries to shame, And to silence the enemy and avenger.

٣ 3 عِنْدَمَا أَتَأَمَّلُ سَمَاوَاتِكَ الَّتِي أَبْدَعَتْهَا أَصَابِعُكَ، وَالْقَمَرَ وَالنُّجُومَ الَّتِي رَتَّبْتَ مَدَارَاتِهَا

When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, The moon and the stars which thou hast ordained:

٤ 4 أُسَائِلُ نَفْسِي: مَنْ هُوَ الإِنْسَانُ حَتَّى تَهْتَمَّ بِهِ؟ أَوِ «ابْنُ الإِنْسَانِ» حَتَّى تَعْتَبِرَهُ؟

What is man, that thou art mindful of him, And the son of man, that thou carest for him?

٥ 5 جَعَلْتَهُ أَدْنَى قَلِيلاً مِنَ الْمَلائِكَةِ إِلَى حِينٍ، ثُمَّ كَلَّلْتَهُ بِالْمَجْدِ وَالْكَرَامَةِ

Yet thou hast made him little lower than God; Thou hast crowned him with glory and honor.

٦ 6 وَأَعْطَيْتَهُ السُّلْطَةَ عَلَى كُلِّ مَا صَنَعَتْهُ يَداكَ. أَخْضَعْتَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ تَحْتَ قَدَمَيْهِ.

Thou hast given him dominion over the works of thy hands; Thou hast put all things under his feet, —

٧ 7 الْغَنَمَ وَالْبَقَرَ وَجَمِيعَ الْمَوَاشِي، وَوُحُوشَ الْبَرِّيَّةِ أَيْضاً،

All sheep and oxen, Yea, and the beasts of the forest;

٨ 8 وَالطُّيُورَ والأَسْمَاكَ وَجَمِيعَ الْحَيَوَانَاتِ الْمَائِيَّةِ.

The birds of the air, and the fishes of the sea, And whatever passeth through the paths of the deep.

٩ 9 أَيُّهَا الرَّبُّ سَيِّدُنَا، مَا أَعْظَمَ اسْمَكَ فِي كُلِّ الأَرْضِ!

O Jehovah, our Lord, How excellent is thy name in all the earth!
