المَزامِير 52
| لِقَائِدِ الْمُنْشِدِينَ. مَزْمُورٌ تَعْلِيمِيٌّ لِدَاوُدَ عِنْدَمَا أَخْبَرَ دُوَاغُ شَاوُلَ بِذَهَابِ دَاوُدَ إِلَى بَيْتِ أَخِيمَالِكَ. لِمَاذَا تَتَفَاخَرُ بِالشَّرِّ أَيُّهَا الْجَبَّارُ؟ إِنَّ رَحْمَةَ اللهِ تَدُومُ الْيَوْمَ كُلَّهُ | ١ 1 |
Why do you boast of mischief, mighty man? God’s chesed ·loving-kindness· endures continually.
| لِسَانُكَ يَخْتَرِعُ الْمَسَاوِئَ، وَيُمَارِسُ الْغِشَّ وَيَجْرَحُ كَالْمُوسَى الْمَسْنُونَةِ. | ٢ 2 |
Your tongue plots destruction, like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.
| أَحْبَبْتَ الشَّرَّ أَكْثَرَ مِنَ الْخَيْرِ، وَالْكَذِبَ أَكْثَرَ مِنَ الصِّدْقِ. | ٣ 3 |
You 'ahavta ·affectionately love· evil more than good, lying rather than speaking the truth. (Selah) ·contemplation with musical interlude·.
| أَحْبَبْتَ كُلَّ كَلامٍ مُهْلِكٍ أَيُّهَا اللِّسَانُ الْمُنَافِقُ. | ٤ 4 |
You 'ahavta ·affectionately love· all devouring words, you deceitful tongue.
| حَقّاً سَيُدَمِّرُكَ اللهُ إِلَى الأَبَدِ، وَيَخْتَطِفُكَ وَيَقْتَلِعُكَ مِنْ خَيْمَتِكَ، وَيَسْتَأْصِلُكَ مِنْ أَرْضِ الأَحْيَاءِ. | ٥ 5 |
God will likewise destroy you forever. He will take you up, and pluck you out of your tent, and root you out of the land of the living. (Selah) ·contemplation with musical interlude·.
| فَيَرَى الأَبْرَارُ ذَلِكَ وَيَخَافُونَ؛ يَضْحَكُونَ عَلَيْكَ قَائِلِينَ: | ٦ 6 |
The upright also will see it, and fear, and laugh at him, saying,
| هَذَا هُوَ الرَّجُلُ الَّذِي لَمْ يَتَّخِذِ اللهَ حِصْناً لَهُ، بَلِ اتَّكَلَ عَلَى وَفْرَةِ غِنَاهُ وَاعْتَزَّ بِغِوَايَتِهِ. | ٧ 7 |
“Behold, this is the man who didn’t make God his strength, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.”
| أَمَّا أَنَا فَمِثْلُ زَيْتُونَةٍ خَضْرَاءَ فِي بَيْتِ اللهِ وَثِقْتُ بِرَحْمَةِ اللهِ إِلَى الدَّهْرِ وَالأَبَدِ. | ٨ 8 |
But as for me, I am like a green olive tree in God’s house. I trust in God’s chesed ·loving-kindness· forever and ever.
| أَحْمَدُكَ إِلَى الأَبَدِ عَلَى مَا فَعَلْتَ، وَأَنْتَظِرُ اسْمَكَ الصَّالِحَ فِي مَحْضَرِ أَتْقِيَائِكَ. | ٩ 9 |
I will yadah ·extend hands in thankful praise· to you forever, because you have done it. I will hope in your name, for it is good, in the presence of your saints.
