المَزامِير 45

١ 1 لِقَائِدِ الْمُنْشِدِينَ: عَلَى السُّوسَنِّ. مَزْمُورٌ تَعْلِيمِيٌّ لِبَنِي قُورَحَ. تَرْنِيمَةُ مَحَبَّةٍ فَاضَ قَلْبِي بِكَلامٍ صَالِحٍ: إِنِّي أُخَاطِبُ الْمَلِكَ بِمَا قَدْ أَنْشَأْتُهُ، وَلِسَانِي فَصِيحٌ كَقَلَمِ الْكَاتِبِ الْمَاهِرِ.

To the ouercomere for the lilies, the most loued song of lernyng of the sones of Chore. Myn herte hath teld out a good word; Y seie my workis `to the kyng. Mi tunge is `a penne of a writere; writynge swiftli.

٢ 2 أَنْتَ أَبْرَعُ جَمَالاً مِنْ كُلِّ بَنِي الْبَشَرِ. انْسَكَبَتِ النِّعْمَةُ عَلَى شَفَتَيْكَ، لِذَلِكَ بَارَكَكَ اللهُ إِلَى الأَبَدِ.

Crist, thou art fairer in schap than the sones of men; grace is spred abrood in thi lippis; therfor God blessid thee withouten ende.

٣ 3 فِي جَلالِكَ وَبَهَائِكَ تَقَلَّدْ سَيْفَكَ عَلَى فَخْذِكَ أَيُّهَا الْمُقْتَدِرُ،

Be thou gird with thi swerd; on thi hipe most myytili.

٤ 4 وَبِجَلالِكَ ارْكَبْ ظَافِراً لأَجْلِ الْحَقِّ وَالْوَدَاعَةِ وَالْبِرِّ، فَتَقْتَحِمَ يَمِينُكَ الأَهْوَالَ.

Biholde thou in thi schaplynesse and thi fairnesse; come thou forth with prosperite, and regne thou. For treuthe, and myldenesse, and riytfulnesse; and thi riyt hond schal lede forth thee wondurfuli.

٥ 5 سِهَامُكَ مَسْنُونَةٌ تَخْتَرِقُ أَعْمَاقَ قُلُوبِ أَعْدَاءِ الْمَلِكِ، وَتَسْقُطُ الشُّعُوبُ صَرْعَى تَحْتَ قَدَمَيْكَ.

Thi scharpe arowis schulen falle in to the hertis of the enemyes of the kyng; puplis schulen be vndur thee.

٦ 6 عَرْشُكَ يَا اللهُ إِلَى دَهْرِ الدُّهُورِ، وَصَوْلَجَانُ مُلْكِكَ عَادِلٌ وَمُسْتَقِيمٌ.

God, thi seete is in to the world of world; the yerde of thi rewme is a yerde of riyt reulyng, `ethir of equite.

٧ 7 أَحْبَبْتَ الْبِرَّ وَأَبْغَضْتَ الإِثْمَ. مِنْ أَجْلِ ذَلِكَ مَسَحَكَ اللهُ (مَلِكاً) بِدُهْنِ الابْتِهَاجِ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ رُفَقَائِكَ (الْمُلُوكِ).

Thou louedist riytfulnesse, and hatidist wickidnesse; therfor thou, God, thi God, anoyntide thee with the oile of gladnesse, more than thi felowis.

٨ 8 ثِيَابُكَ كُلُّهَا مُعَطَّرَةٌ بِالْمُرِّ وَدُهْنِ اللُّبَانِ. مِنْ قُصُورِ الْعَاجِ صَدَحَتْ مُوسِيقَى الآلاتِ الْوَتَرِيَّةِ فَأَطْرَبَتْكَ.

Mirre, and gumme, and cassia, of thi clothis, of the `housis yuer;

٩ 9 أَمِيرَاتٌ بَيْنَ حَظِيَّاتِكَ. جَلَسَتِ الْمَلِكَةُ عَنْ يَمِينِكَ مُزَيَّنَةً بِذَهَبِ أُوفِيرَ.

of whiche the douytris of kyngis delitiden thee. A queen stood nyy on thi riyt side in clothing ouergildid; cumpassid with dyuersitee.

١٠ 10 اسْمَعِي يَا بِنْتُ وَانْظُرِي، وَأَرْهِفِي إِلَيَّ أُذُنَكِ، وَانْسَيْ شَعْبَكِ وَبَيْتَ أَبِيكِ

Douyter, here thou, and se, and bowe doun thin eere; and foryete thi puple, and the hows of thi fadir.

١١ 11 فَيَشْتَهِيَ الْمَلِكُ جَمَالَكِ، لأَنَّهُ هُوَ سَيِّدُكِ فَاسْجُدِي لَهُ.

And the kyng schal coueyte thi fairnesse; for he is thi Lord God, and thei schulen worschipe hym.

١٢ 12 بِنْتُ صُورٍ أَغْنَى الشُّعُوبِ تَسْتَرْضِيكِ بِهَدِيَّةٍ.

And the douytris of Tire in yiftis; alle the riche men of the puple schulen biseche thi cheer.

١٣ 13 كُلُّهَا مَجْدٌ ابْنَةُ الْمَلِكِ فِي قَصْرِهَا. ثِيَابُهَا مَنْسُوجَةٌ بِذَهَبٍ.

Al the glorye of that douyter of the kyng is with ynne in goldun hemmes;

١٤ 14 تُزَفُّ إِلَى الْمَلِكِ بِحُلَلٍ مُطَرَّزَةٍ، وَوَصِيفَاتُهَا العَذَارَى يَتْبَعْنَهَا قَادِمَاتٍ إِلَيْكَ فِي مَوْكِبٍ حَافِلٍ.

sche is clothid aboute with dyuersitees. Virgyns schulen be brouyt to the kyng aftir hir; hir neiyboressis schulen be brouyt to thee.

١٥ 15 يُحْضَرْنَ بِفَرَحٍ وَابْتِهَاجٍ. يَدْخُلْنَ إِلَى قَصْرِ الْمَلِكِ.

Thei schulen be brouyt in gladnesse, and ful out ioiyng; thei schulen be brouyt in to the temple of the kyng.

١٦ 16 يُصْبِحُ أَبْنَاؤُكَ يَوْماً مُلُوكاً كَآبَائِهِمْ فَيَتَرَبَّعُونَ عَلَى عُرُوشٍ فِي كُلِّ الأَرْضِ.

Sones ben borun to thee, for thi fadris; thou schalt ordeyne hem princes on al erthe.

١٧ 17 أُخَلِّدُ ذِكْرَى اسْمِكَ فِي كُلِّ الأَجْيَالِ، وَتَحْمَدُكَ الشُّعُوبُ إِلَى الدَّهْرِ وَالأَبَدِ.

Lord, thei schulen be myndeful of thi name; in ech generacioun, and in to generacioun. Therfor puplis schulen knouleche to thee withouten ende; and in to the world of world.
