المَزامِير 39

١ 1 لِقَائِدِ الْمُنْشِدِينَ، مَزْمُورٌ لِدَاوُدَ قُلْتُ: «أَحْرِصُ عَلَى حُسْنِ الْمَسْلَكِ فَلَا يُخْطِئُ لِسَانِي الْقَوْلَ. سَأَكُمُّ فَمِي عَنِ الْكَلامِ مَادَامَ الشِّرِّيرُ أَمَامِي».

To the choirmaster (for Jeduthun *Q(K)*) a psalm of David. I said I will guard ways my from sinning with tongue my I will keep to mouth my a muzzle while still [the] wicked [is] to before me.

٢ 2 صَمَتُّ صَمْتاً. أَمْسَكْتُ حَتَّى عَنِ الْخَيْرِ، فَثَارَ وَجَعِي.

I was dumb silence I was silent from good and pain my it was stirred up.

٣ 3 الْتَهَبَ قَلْبِي فِي دَاخِلِي، وَفِي تَأَمُّلِي اشْتَعَلَتْ فِيَّ النَّارُ، فَأَطْلَقْتُ لِسَانِي بِالْكَلامِ.

It became hot heart my - in inner being my in sighing my it burned fire I spoke with tongue my.

٤ 4 يَا رَبُّ عَرِّفْنِي مَتَى تَكُونُ نِهَايَتِي، وَكَمْ تَطُولُ أَيَّامِي فَأُدْرِكَ أَنَّنِي إِنْسَانٌ زَائِلٌ.

Make known to me O Yahweh - end my and [the] measure of days my what? [is] it let me know how! fleeting [am] I.

٥ 5 هُوَذَا قَدْ جَعَلْتَ حَيَاتِي قَصِيرَةً، وَعُمْرِي كَلَا شَيْءَ أَمَامَكَ. كُلُّ إِنْسَانٍ حَيٍّ لَيْسَ سِوَى نَفْخَةٍ!

Here! handbreadths - you have made days my and lifespan my [is] like nothing before you [is] only all vanity all humankind [which] stands (Selah)

٦ 6 إِنَّمَا كَخَيَالٍ يَتَمَشَّى الإِنْسَانُ، فَعَبَثاً يُكَافِحُ النَّاسُ. يَجْمَعُ الْوَاحِدُ مِنْهُمْ ثَرْوَةً وَلَا يَدْرِي مَنْ يَرِثُهَا مِنْ بَعْدِهِ.

٧ 7 وَالآنَ، فَأَيُّ شَيْءٍ أَنْتَظِرُ يَا رَبُّ؟ إِنَّمَا فِيكَ رَجَائِي.

٨ 8 نَجِّنِي مِنْ جَمِيعِ مَعَاصِيَّ، وَلَا تَجْعَلْنِي عَاراً عِنْدَ الأَحْمَقِ.

From all transgressions my deliver me a reproach of [the] foolish may not you make me.

٩ 9 صَمَتُّ. لَا أَفْتَحُ فَمِي، لأَنَّكَ أَنْتَ فَعَلْتَ هَذَا.

I am dumb not I open mouth my for you you have acted.

١٠ 10 ارْفَعْ عَنِّي ضَرْبَتَكَ فَقَدْ فَنِيْتُ مِنْ صَفْعَةِ يَدِكَ.

Remove from on me plague your from [the] hostility of hand your I I have come to an end.

١١ 11 عِنْدَمَا تُؤَدِّبُ الإِنْسَانَ بِالتَّوْبِيخِ عَلَى الإِثْمِ، تُتْلِفُ بَهَاءَهُ إِتْلافَ الْعُثِّ. إِنَّمَا كُلُّ إِنْسَانٍ نَفْخَةٌ.

With rebukes on iniquity - you have disciplined a person and you have melted like moth desired [thing] his [is] only vanity all humankind (Selah)

١٢ 12 يَا رَبُّ اسْمَعْ صَلاتِي. وَأَصْغِ إِلَى صُرَاخِي، وَلَا تَسْكُتْ أَمَامَ دُمُوعِي، لأَنِّي غَرِيبٌ عِنْدَكَ وَعَابِرُ سَبِيلٍ كَجَمِيعِ آبَائِي.

Hear! prayer my - O Yahweh and cry for help my - give ear to! to tear[s] my may not you be silent for [am] a sojourner I with you a resident alien like all ancestors my.

١٣ 13 حَوِّلْ غَضَبَكَ عَنِّي فَأَنْتَعِشَ، قَبْلَ أَنْ أَمُوتَ وَيَخْتَفِيَ أَثَرِي.
