المَزامِير 23

١ 1 مَزْمُورٌ لِدَاوُدَ الرَّبُّ رَاعِيَّ فَلَسْتُ أَحْتَاجُ إِلَى شَيْءٍ.

“A psalm of David.” The LORD is my shepherd: I shall not want.

٢ 2 فِي مَرَاعٍ خَضْرَاءَ يُرْبِضُنِي، وَإِلَى مِيَاهٍ هَادِئَةٍ يَقُودُنِي.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside the still waters.

٣ 3 يُنْعِشُ نَفْسِي وَيُرْشِدُنِي إِلَى طُرُقِ الْبِرِّ إِكْرَاماً لاِسْمِهِ.

He reviveth my soul; He leadeth me in paths of safety, For his name's sake.

٤ 4 حَتَّى إِذَا اجْتَزْتُ وَادِي ظِلالِ الْمَوْتِ، لَا أَخَافُ سُوءاً لأَنَّكَ تُرَافِقُنِي. عَصَاكَ وَعُكَّازُكَ هُمَا مَعِي يُشَدِّدَانِ عَزِيمَتِي.

When I walk through a valley of deathlike shade, I fear no evil; for thou art with me; Thy crook and thy staff, they comfort me.

٥ 5 تَبْسُطُ أَمَامِي مَأْدُبَةً عَلَى مَرْأَىً مِنْ أَعْدَائِي. مَسَحْتَ بِالزَّيْتِ رَأْسِي، وَأَفَضْتَ كَأْسِي.

Thou preparest a table before me In the presence of mine enemies. Thou anointest my head with oil; My cup runneth over.

٦ 6 إِنَّمَا خَيْرٌ وَرَحْمَةٌ يَتْبَعَانِنِي طَوَالَ حَيَاتِي، وَيَكُونُ بَيْتُ الرَّبِّ مَسْكَناً لِي مَدَى الأَيَّامِ.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, And I shall dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
