المَزامِير 140

١ 1 لِقَائِدِ الْمُنْشِدِينَ. مَزْمُورٌ لِدَاوُدَ أَنْقِذْنِي يَا رَبُّ مِنَ الأَشْرَارِ وَاحْفَظْنِي مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ،

To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man;

٢ 2 الَّذِينَ يَنْوُونَ عَلَى الشَّرِّ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ وَيُثِيرُونَ الْحَرْبَ دَائِماً،

Who imagine mischiefs in [their] heart; continually are they assembled [for] war.

٣ 3 سَنُّوا أَلْسِنَتَهُمْ كَالْحَيَّةِ، وَسُمُّ الأَصْلالِ تَحْتَ شِفَاهِهِمْ.

They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adder's poison [is] under their lips. (Selah)

٤ 4 احْمِنِي يَا رَبُّ مِنْ قَبْضَةِ الشِّرِّيرِ، وَأَنْقِذْنِي مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ الْمُتَآمِرِينَ عَلَى عَرْقَلَةِ خُطْوَاتِي.

Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.

٥ 5 أَخْفَى لِي الْمُتَكَبِّرُونَ فَخّاً، وَنَشَرُوا شَبَكَةً بِجَانِبِ الطَّرِيقِ، وَنَصَبُوا لِي أَشْرَاكاً.

The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the way side: they have set gins for me. (Selah)

٦ 6 قُلْتُ لِلرَّبِّ: «أَنْتَ إِلَهِي» فَيَا رَبُّ أَصْغِ إِلَى صَوْتِ تَضَرُّعِي.

I said to the LORD, Thou [art] my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD.

٧ 7 أَيُّهَا الرَّبُّ السَّيِّدُ، يَا قُوَّةَ خَلاصِي، أَنْتَ وَقَيْتَ رَأْسِي فِي يَوْمِ الْقِتَالِ.

O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

٨ 8 لَا تُحَقِّقْ يَا رَبُّ رَغْبَاتِ الأَشْرَارِ، وَلَا تُنْجِحْ مَكِيدَتَهُمْ لِئَلّا يَسْتَكْبِرُوا.

Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; [lest] they exalt themselves. (Selah)

٩ 9 رُدَّ عَلَى رُؤُوسِ مَنْ يُحَاصِرُونَنِي مَكَائِدَ مَا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ به.

[As for] the head of those that encompass me, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.

١٠ 10 لِيَسْقُطْ عَلَيْهِمْ جَمْرٌ مُلْتَهِبٌ، وَلْيُطْرَحُوا إِلَى النَّارِ، وَإِلَى غَمَرَاتِ اللُّجَجِ، فَلَا يَنْهَضُوا أَيْضاً.

Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not again.

١١ 11 لَا تَدَعْ ذَا اللِّسَانِ السَّلِيطِ يَثْبُتُ فِي الأَرْضِ: فَالشَّرُّ يَتَصَيَّدُ رَجُلَ الظُّلْمِ لِيُهْلِكَهُ.

Let not an evil speaker be established on the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow [him].

١٢ 12 قَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَنَّ الرَّبَّ يُنْصِفُ دَعْوَى الْمَسَاكِينِ وَيَحْكُمُ بِالْحَقِّ لِلْمُحْتَاجِينَ.

I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, [and] the right of the poor.

١٣ 13 نَعَمْ، إِنَّ الصِّدِّيقِينَ يَحْمَدُونَ اسْمَكَ، وَالصَّالِحِينَ يُقِيمُونَ فِي حَضْرَتِكَ.

Surely the righteous shall give thanks to thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.
