| هَلِّلُويَا. سَبِّحُوا اسْمَ الرَّبِّ. سَبِّحُوهُ يَا عَبِيدَ الرَّبِّ، | ١ 1 |
Halleluyah ·praise Yah·! Praise Adonai’s name! Praise him, you servants of Adonai,
| الْقَائِمِينَ عَلَى الْخِدْمَةِ فِي بَيْتِ الرَّبِّ، فِي دِيَارِ بَيْتِ إِلَهِنَا. | ٢ 2 |
you who stand in Adonai’s house, in the courts of our God’s house.
| سَبِّحُوا الرَّبَّ فَإِنَّهُ صَالِحٌ. اشْدُوا لاسْمِهِ، فَإِنَّ ذَاكَ حُلْوٌ. | ٣ 3 |
Halleluyah ·praise Yah·, for Adonai is good. Sing zahmar ·musical praise· to his name, for that is pleasant.
| لأَنَّ الرَّبَّ قَدِ اخْتَارَ يَعْقُوبَ لِنَفْسِهِ، وَاتَّخَذَ إِسْرَائِيلَ شَعْباً خَاصّاً لَهُ. | ٤ 4 |
For Yah has chosen Jacob [Supplanter] for himself; Israel [God prevails] for his own segulah ·special treasure·.
| قَدْ عَرَفْتُ أَنَّ الرَّبَّ عَظِيمٌ، وَأَنَّ سَيِّدَنَا أَسْمَى مِنْ جَمِيعِ الآلِهَةِ. | ٥ 5 |
For I know that Adonai is great, that our Lord is above all deities.
| كُلَّ مَا شَاءَ صَنَعَ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ، وَفِي الأَرْضِ وَالْبِحَارِ، وَفِي كُلِّ الأَغْوَارِ الْعَمِيقَةِ. | ٦ 6 |
Whatever Adonai pleased, that he has done, in heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps;
| يُصْعِدُ الأَبْخِرَةَ مِنْ أَقَاصِي الأَرْضِ، وَيُحْدِثُ بُرُوقاً لِلْمَطَرِ، وَيُطْلِقُ الرِّيحَ مِنْ خَزَائِنِهِ. | ٧ 7 |
who causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth; who makes lightnings with the rain; who brings the wind out of his treasuries;
| هُوَ الَّذِي ضَرَبَ أَبْكَارَ مِصْرَ، أَبْكَارَ النَّاسِ وَالْبَهَائِمِ. | ٨ 8 |
Who struck the firstborn of Egypt [Abode of slavery], both of man and animal;
| وَهُوَ الَّذِي أَجْرَى آيَاتٍ وَمُعْجِزَاتٍ فِي وَسَطِكِ يَا مِصْرُ، وَعَلَى فِرْعَوْنَ وَجَمِيعِ عَبِيدِهِ. | ٩ 9 |
Who sent signs and wonders into the middle of you, Egypt [Abode of slavery], on Pharaoh, and on all his servants;
| ضَرَبَ أُمَماً عَظِيمَةً، وَقَتَلَ مُلُوكاً مُقْتَدِرِينَ: | ١٠ 10 |
who struck many nations, and killed mighty kings,
| سِيحُونَ مَلِكَ الأَمُورِيِّينَ، وَعُوجَ مَلِكَ بَاشَانَ، وَجَمِيعَ مَمَالِكِ كَنْعَانَ. | ١١ 11 |
Sihon king of the Amorites [Descendants of Talkers], Og king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan [Humbled],
| وَوَهَبَ أَرْضَهُمْ مِيرَاثاً لإِسْرَائِيلَ شَعْبِهِ. | ١٢ 12 |
and gave their land for a heritage, a heritage to Israel [God prevails], his people.
| اسْمُكَ خَالِدٌ إِلَى الأَبَدِ. ذِكْرُكَ يَا رَبُّ مِنْ جِيلٍ إِلَى جِيلٍ. | ١٣ 13 |
Your name, Adonai, endures forever; your renown, Adonai, throughout all generations.
| لأَنَّ الرَّبَّ يُحَاكِمُ شَعْبَهُ بِعَدْلٍ وَيَعْطِفُ عَلَى عَبِيدِهِ. | ١٤ 14 |
For Adonai will judge his people, and have compassion on his servants.
| أَمَّا أَصْنَامُ الأُمَمِ فَهِيَ مِنْ فِضَّةٍ وَذَهَبٍ، صَنْعَةُ أَيْدِي النَّاسِ. | ١٥ 15 |
The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.
| لَهَا أَفْوَاهٌ لَكِنَّهَا لَا تَتَكَلَّمُ، وَعُيُونٌ لَكِنَّهَا لَا تَرَى. | ١٦ 16 |
They have mouths, but they can’t speak. They have eyes, but they can’t see.
| وَآذَانٌ لَكِنَّهَا لَا تَسْمَعُ. وَلَيْسَ فِي أَفْوَاهِهَا نَسَمَةُ حَيَاةٍ. | ١٧ 17 |
They have ears, but they can’t hear; neither is there any breath in their mouths.
| مِثْلَهَا يَصِيرُ صَانِعُوهَا وَكُلُّ مَنْ يَتَوَكَّلُ عَلَيْهَا. | ١٨ 18 |
Those who make them will be like them; yes, everyone who trusts in them.
| يَا بَيْتَ إِسْرَائِيلَ بَارِكُوا الرَّبَّ. يَا بَيْتَ هَارُونَ بَارِكُوا الرَّبَّ. | ١٩ 19 |
House of Israel [God prevails], praise Adonai! House of Aaron [Light-bringer], praise Adonai!
| يَا بَيْتَ لاوِي بَارِكُوا الرَّبَّ. يَا خَائِفِي الرَّبِّ بَارِكُوا الرَّبَّ. | ٢٠ 20 |
House of Levi [United with], praise Adonai! You who fear Adonai, praise Adonai!
| مُبَارَكٌ الرَّبُّ مِنْ صِهْيَوْنَ، الرَّبُّ السَّاكِنُ فِي أُورُشَلِيمَ. هَلِّلُويَا. | ٢١ 21 |
Blessed be Adonai from Zion [Mountain ridge, Marking], Who dwells at Jerusalem [City of peace]. Halleluyah ·praise Yah·!
