المَزامِير 119

١ 1 طُوبَى لِلسَّالِكِينَ فِي طَرِيقِ الكَمَالِ، طَرِيقِ شَرِيعَةِ الرَّبِّ.

Alleluia. Blessed are the blameless in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord.

٢ 2 طُوبَى لِمَنْ يَحْفَظُونَ وَصَايَا الرَّبِّ، الَّذِينَ يَطْلُبُونَهُ بِكُلِّ الْقَلْبِ،

Blessed are they that search out his testimonies: they will diligently seek him with the whole heart.

٣ 3 وَلَا يَرْتَكِبُونَ إِثْماً، إِنَّمَا فِي طُرُقِهِ يَسِيرُونَ.

For they that work iniquity have not walked in his ways.

٤ 4 أَنْتَ أَوْصَيْتَ بِحِفْظِ وَصَايَاكَ وَالعَمَلِ بِها كُلِّهَا.

Thou hast commanded [us] diligently to keep thy precepts.

٥ 5 لَيْتَكَ تُوَجِّهُ طُرُقِي لِمُمَارَسَةِ فَرَائِضِكَ.

O that my ways were directed to keep thine ordinances.

٦ 6 عِنْدَئِذٍ لَا أَخْزَى إِذَا تَأَمَّلْتُ فِي جَمِيعِ وَصَايَاكَ.

Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect to all thy commandments.

٧ 7 أَحْمَدُكَ بِقَلْبٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ لأَنِّي أَدْرَكْتُ أَحْكَامَكَ الْعَادِلَةَ.

I will give thee thanks with uprightness of heart, when I have learnt the judgments of thy righteousness.

٨ 8 سَأَحْفَظُ وَصَايَاكَ، فَلَا تَتْرُكْنِي أَبَداً.

I will keep thine ordinances: O forsake me not greatly.

٩ 9 بِمَاذَا يُزَكِّي الشَّابُّ مَسْلَكَهُ؟ بِطَاعَتِهِ لِكَلِمَتِكَ.

Wherewith shall a young man direct his way? by keeping thy words.

١٠ 10 لِذَلِكَ طَلَبْتُكَ بِكُلِّ قَلْبِي، فَلَا تَدَعْنِي أَضِلُّ عَنْ وَصَايَاكَ.

With my whole heart have I diligently sought thee: cast me not away from thy commandments.

١١ 11 خَبَأْتُ كَلامَكَ فِي قَلْبِي، لِئَلّا أُخْطِئَ إِلَيْكَ.

I have hidden thine oracles in my heart, that I might not sin against thee.

١٢ 12 مُبَارَكٌ أَنْتَ يَا رَبُّ. عَلِّمْنِي فَرَائِضَكَ.

Blessed art thou, O Lord: teach me thine ordinances.

١٣ 13 بِشَفَتَيَّ أَعْلَنْتُ جَمِيعَ الأَحْكَامِ الَّتِي نَطَقْتَ بِها.

With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth.

١٤ 14 بِطَرِيقِ شَهَادَاتِكَ قَدْ سُرِرْتُ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ سُرُورِ الْحَائِزِ عَلَى كُلِّ غِنىً.

I have delighted in the way of thy testimonies, [as much] as in all riches.

١٥ 15 أَتَأَمَّلُ وَصَايَاكَ، وَأَحْفَظُ سُبُلَكَ.

I will meditate on thy commandments, and consider thy ways.

١٦ 16 بِفَرائِضِكَ أَتَلَذَّذُ، وَلَا أَنْسَى كَلِمَتَكَ.

I will meditate on thine ordinances: I will not forget thy words.

١٧ 17 أَحْسِنْ إِلَيَّ أَنَا عَبْدِكَ، فَأَحْيَا وَأَعْمَلَ بِكَلِمَتِكَ.

Render a recompense to thy servant: [so] shall I live, and keep thy words.

١٨ 18 افْتَحْ عَيْنَيَّ فَأَرَى عَجَائِبَ مِنْ شَرِيعَتِكَ.

Unveil thou mine eyes, and I shall perceive wondrous things of thy law.

١٩ 19 غَرِيبٌ أَنَا فِي الأَرْضِ فَلَا تَحْجُبْ عَنِّي وَصَايَاكَ.

I am a stranger in the earth: hide not thy commandments from me.

٢٠ 20 تَتَلَهَّفُ نَفْسِي شَوْقاً إِلَى أَحْكَامِكَ دَائِماً.

My soul has longed exceedingly for thy judgments at all times.

٢١ 21 أَنْتَ تَزْجُرُ الْمُتَكَبِّرِينَ الْمَلْعُونِينَ الَّذِينَ يَضِلُّونَ عَنْ وَصَايَاكَ.

Thou has rebuked the proud: cursed are they that turn aside from thy commandments.

٢٢ 22 انْتَزِعْ عَارِي وَهَوَانِي، لأَنَّنِي أُرَاعِي وَصَايَاكَ.

Remove from me reproach and contempt; for I have sought out thy testimonies.

٢٣ 23 جَلَسَ الرُّؤَسَاءُ وَتَآمَرُوا عَلَيَّ. أَمَّا أَنَا، عَبدَكَ، فَبَقِيتُ أَتَأَمَّلُ فِي فَرَائِضِكَ.

For princes sat and spoke against me: but thy servant was meditating on thine ordinances.

٢٤ 24 وَصَايَاكَ الشَّاهِدَةُ أَيْضاً هِيَ مَسَرَّتِي، وَأَنَا أَسْتَشِيرُهَا دَائِماً.

For thy testimonies are my (meditation) and thine ordinances are my counsellors.

٢٥ 25 (أَنَا يَائِسٌ) أَرْقُدُ مُلْتَصِقاً بالتُّرَابِ، فَأَحْيِنِي حَسَبَ وَعْدِكَ.

My soul has cleaved to the ground; quicken thou me according to thy word.

٢٦ 26 اعْتَرَفْتُ بِمَا جَنَيْتُ فَاسْتَجَبْتَ لِي. عَلِّمْنِي فَرَائِضَكَ.

I declared my ways, and thou didst hear me: teach me thine ordinances.

٢٧ 27 فَهِّمْنِي طَرِيقَ أَوَامِرِكَ، فَأَتَأَمَّلَ فِي أَعْمَالِكَ الْعَجِيبَةِ.

Instruct me in the way of thine ordinances; and I will meditate on thy wondrous works.

٢٨ 28 نَفْسِي ذَائِبَةٌ مِنَ الْحُزْنِ. قَوِّنِي بِحَسَبِ وَعْدِكَ.

My soul has slumbered for sorrow; strengthen thou me with thy words.

٢٩ 29 أَبْعِدْ عَنِّي طَرِيقَ الْغَوَايَةِ وَبِرَحْمَتِكَ لَقِّنِّي شَرِيعَتَكَ.

Remove from me the way of iniquity; and be merciful to me by thy law.

٣٠ 30 قَدِ اخْتَرْتُ طَرِيقَ الْحَقِّ، إذْ وَضَعْتُ أَحْكَامَكَ أَمَامِي.

I have chosen the way of truth; and have not forgotten thy judgments.

٣١ 31 الْتَزَمْتُ بِوَصَايَاكَ الشَّاهِدَةِ لَكَ يَا رَبُّ فَلَا تُخْزِنِي.

I have cleaved to thy testimonies, O Lord; put me not to shame.

٣٢ 32 أَجِدُّ مُسْرِعاً فِي طَرِيقِ وَصَايَاكَ، لأَنَّكَ تَشْرَحُ قَلْبِي.

I ran the way of thy commandments, when thou didst enlarge my heart.

٣٣ 33 يَا رَبُّ، عَلِّمْنِي طَرِيقَ فَرَائِضِكَ فَأُرَاعِيَهَا إِلَى النِّهَايَةِ.

Teach me, O Lord, the way of thine ordinances, and I will seek it out continually.

٣٤ 34 أَعْطِنِي فَهْماً لأَحْفَظَ شَرِيعَتَكَ وَأَعْمَلَ بِها بِكُلِّ قَلْبِي.

Instruct me, and I will search out thy law, and will keep it with my whole heart.

٣٥ 35 اهْدِنِي فِي سَبِيلِ وَصَايَاكَ، فَفِيهَا بَهْجَتِي.

Guide me in the path of thy commandments; for I have delighted in it.

٣٦ 36 اجْتَذِبْ قَلْبِي نَحْوَ شَهَادَاتِكَ بَعِيداً عَنْ مَطَامِعِ الْمَالِ.

Incline mine heart to thy testimonies, and not to covetousness.

٣٧ 37 حَوِّلْ عَيْنَيَّ عَنْ رُؤْيَةِ الْبَاطِلِ، وَفِي طَرِيقِكَ أَحْيِنِي.

Turn away mine eyes that I may not behold vanity: quicken thou me in thy way.

٣٨ 38 حَقِّقْ لِعَبْدِكَ قَوْلَكَ، الَّذِي وَعَدْتَ بِهِ مُتَّقِيكَ.

Confirm thine oracle to thy servant, that he may fear thee.

٣٩ 39 أَزِلْ عَنِّي الْعَارَ الَّذِي أَخْشَاهُ، لأَنَّ أَحْكَامَكَ صَالِحَةٌ.

Take away my reproach which I have feared: for thy judgments are good.

٤٠ 40 هَا قَدْ رَغِبْتُ فِي وَصَايَاكَ. بِعَدْلِكَ أَحْيِنِي.

Behold, I have desired thy commandments: quicken me in thy righteousness.

٤١ 41 أَنْعِمْ عَلَيَّ يَا رَبُّ بِرَحْمَتِكَ وَخَلاصِكَ حَسَبَ كَلامِكَ.

And let thy mercy come upon me, O Lord; [even] thy salvation, according to thy word.

٤٢ 42 فَأَرُدَّ عَلَى مُعَيِّرِيَّ، لأَنِّي أَثِقُ بِوَعْدِكَ.

And [so] I shall render an answer to them that reproach me: for I have trusted in thy words.

٤٣ 43 لَا تَنْزِعْ كَلِمَةَ الْحَقِّ مِنْ فَمِي لأَنَّ رَجَائِي فِي أَحْكَامِكَ،

And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth; for I have hoped in thy judgments. So shall I keep thy law continually, for ever and ever.

٤٤ 44 فَأَحْفَظَ شَرِيعَتَكَ دَائِماً، إِلَى الدَّهْرِ وَالأَبَدِ،

٤٥ 45 وَأَسْلُكَ فِي رَحَابَةِ الْحُرِّيَّةِ، لأَنِّي الْتَمَسْتُ أَوَامِرَكَ.

I walked also at large: for I sought out thy commandments.

٤٦ 46 سَأَتَحَدَّثُ بِشَهَادَاتِكَ أَمَامَ الْمُلُوكِ وَلَا يَعْتَرِينِي الْخِزْيُ،

And I spoke of thy testimonies before kings, and was not ashamed.

٤٧ 47 وَأَتَلَذَّذُ بِوَصَايَاكَ الَّتِي أَحْبَبْتُهَا،

And I meditated on thy commandments, which I loved exceedingly.

٤٨ 48 وَأَرْفَعُ كَفَّيَّ إِلَى وَصَايَاكَ الَّتِي أَحْبَبْتُهَا وَأَتَأَمَّلُ فِي فَرَائِضِكَ.

And I lifted up my hands to thy commandments which I loved; and I meditated in thine ordinances.

٤٩ 49 حَقِّقْ لِعَبْدِكَ وَعْدَكَ الَّذِي جَعَلْتَنِي أَنْتَظِرُهُ.

Remember thy words to thy servant, wherein thou hast made me hope.

٥٠ 50 وَعْدُكَ يُنْعِشُنِي إِذْ هُوَ تَعْزِيَتِي فِي ضِيقِي.

This has comforted me in mine affliction: for thine oracle has quickened me.

٥١ 51 جَاوَزَ الْمُتَكَبِّرُونَ الْحَدَّ فِي السُّخْرِيَةِ بِي، لَكِنْ عَنْ شَرِيعَتِكَ لَمْ أَمِلْ.

The proud have transgressed exceedingly; but I swerved not from thy law.

٥٢ 52 تَذَكَّرْتُ أَحْكَامَكَ مُنْذُ الدَّهْرِ يَا رَبُّ، فَتَعَزَّيْتُ.

I remembered thy judgments of old, O Lord; and was comforted.

٥٣ 53 تَوَلّانِي الْغَيْظُ مِنَ الأَشْرَارِ الَّذِينَ نَبَذُوا شَرِيعَتَكَ.

Despair took hold upon me, because of the sinners who forsake thy law.

٥٤ 54 صَارَتْ فَرَائِضُكَ تَرْنِيمَاتٍ لِي فِي أَرْضِ غُرْبَتِي.

Thine ordinances were my songs in the place of my sojourning.

٥٥ 55 ذَكَرْتُ فِي اللَّيْلِ اسْمَكَ يَا رَبُّ، وَحَفِظْتُ شَرِيعَتَكَ.

I remembered thy name, O Lord, in the night, and kept thy law.

٥٦ 56 هَذَا مَا حَظِيتُ بِهِ لأَنِّي رَاعَيْتُ وَصَايَاكَ.

This I had, because I diligently sought thine ordinances.

٥٧ 57 أَنْتَ يَا رَبُّ نَصِيبِي، فَأَعِدُكَ بِطَاعَةِ شَرِيعَتِكَ.

Thou art my portion, O Lord: I said that I would keep thy law.

٥٨ 58 طَلَبْتُ وَجْهَكَ مِنْ كُلِّ قَلْبِي: ارْحَمْنِي حَسَبَ وَعْدِكَ.

I besought thy favour with my whole heart: have mercy upon me according to thy word.

٥٩ 59 تَأَمَّلْتُ فِي انْحِرَافِي فَعُدْتُ وَتَحَوَّلْتُ نَحْوَ شَهَادَاتِكَ.

I thought on thy ways, and turned my feet to thy testimonies.

٦٠ 60 أَسْرَعْتُ مِنْ غَيْرِ تَوَانٍ إِلَى الْعَمَلِ بِوَصَايَاكَ.

I prepared myself, (and was not terrified, ) to keep thy commandments.

٦١ 61 قَامَ الأَشْرَارُ بِالإِيقَاعِ بِي، وَلَكِنِّي لَمْ أَنْسَ شَرِيعَتَكَ.

The snares of sinners entangled me: but I forgot not thy law.

٦٢ 62 أَسْتَيْقِظُ فِي مُنْتَصَفِ اللَّيْلِ لأَحْمَدَكَ مِنْ أَجْلِ أَحْكَامِكَ الْعَادِلَةِ.

At midnight I arose, to give thanks to thee for the judgments of thy righteousness.

٦٣ 63 رَفِيقٌ أَنَا لِكُلِّ الَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَكَ، وَلِحَافِظِي وَصَايَاكَ.

I am a companion of all them that fear thee, and of them that keep thy commandments.

٦٤ 64 رَحْمَتُكَ يَا رَبُّ قَدْ عَمَّتِ الأَرْضَ فَعَلِّمْنِي فَرَائِضَكَ.

O Lord, the earth is full of thy mercy: teach me thine ordinances.

٦٥ 65 صَنَعْتَ خَيْراً يَا رَبُّ مَعِي أَنَا عَبْدَكَ كَمَا وَعَدْتَ.

Thou hast wrought kindly with thy servant, o Lord, according to thy word.

٦٦ 66 هَبْنِي رُوحَ تَمْيِيزٍ وَمَعْرِفَةً، لأَنِّي آمَنْتُ بِوَصَايَاكَ.

Teach me kindness, and instruction, and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments.

٦٧ 67 ضَلَلْتُ قَبْلَ أَنْ أَدَّبْتَنِي، أَمَّا الآنَ فَحَفِظْتُ كَلامَكَ.

Before I was afflicted, I transgressed; therefore have I kept thy word.

٦٨ 68 أَنْتَ صَالِحٌ وَمُحْسِنٌ فَعَلِّمْنِي فَرَائِضَكَ.

Good art thou, O Lord; therefore in thy goodness teach me thine ordinances.

٦٩ 69 لَفَّقَ الْمُتَكَبِّرُونَ عَلَيَّ أَقْوَالاً كَاذِبَةً، أَمَّا أَنَا فَبِكُلِّ قَلْبِي أَحْفَظُ وَصَايَاكَ.

The injustice of the proud has been multiplied against me: but I will search out thy commandments with all my heart.

٧٠ 70 غَلُظَ قَلْبُهُمْ وَتَقَسَّى، أَمَّا أَنَا فَأَتَمَتَّعُ بِشَرِيعَتِكَ.

Their heart has been curdled like milk; but I have meditated on thy law.

٧١ 71 كَانَ مَا ذُقْتُ مِنْ هَوَانٍ لِخَيْرِي فَتَعَلَّمْتُ فَرَائِضَكَ.

[It is] good for me that thou hast afflicted me; that I might learn thine ordinances.

٧٢ 72 شَرِيعَةُ فَمِكَ خَيْرٌ لِي مِنْ كُلِّ ذَهَبِ الْعَالَمِ وَفِضَّتِهِ.

The law of thy mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver.

٧٣ 73 يَدَاكَ صَنَعَتَانِي وَكَوَّنَتَانِي، فَهَبْنِي فَهْماً لأَتَعَلَّمَ وَصَايَاكَ.

Thy hands have made me, and fashioned me: instruct me, that I may learn thy commandments.

٧٤ 74 فَيَرَانِي مُتَّقُوكَ وَيَفْرَحُونَ، لأَنِّي انْتَظَرْتُ كَلامَكَ.

They that fear thee will see me and rejoice: for I have hoped in thy words.

٧٥ 75 قَدْ عَلِمْتُ يَا رَبُّ أَنَّ أَحْكَامَكَ عَادِلَةٌ، وَأَنَّكَ بِالْحَقِّ أَدَّبْتَنِي.

I know, O Lord, that thy judgments are righteousness, and [that] thou in truthfulness hast afflicted me.

٧٦ 76 فَلْتَكُنْ رَحْمَتُكَ تَعْزِيَةً لِي، بِمُقْتَضَى وَعْدِكَ لِعَبْدِكَ.

Let, I pray thee, thy mercy be to comfort me, according to thy word to thy servant.

٧٧ 77 لِتَأْتِنِي مَرَاحِمُكَ فَأَحْيَا، لأَنَّ شَرِيعَتَكَ هِيَ مُتْعَتِي.

Let thy compassions come to me, that I may live: for thy law is my (meditation)

٧٨ 78 لِيَخْزَ الْمُتَكَبِّرُونَ لأَنَّهُمُ افْتَرَوْا عَلَيَّ زُوراً، أَمَّا أَنَا فَأَتَأَمَّلُ فِي وَصَايَاكَ.

Let the proud be ashamed; for they transgressed against me unjustly: but I will meditate in thy commandments.

٧٩ 79 لِيَنْضَمَّ إِلَيَّ مُتَّقُوكَ وَعَارِفُو شَهَادَاتِكَ.

Let those that fear thee, and those that know thy testimonies, turn to me.

٨٠ 80 لِيَكُنْ قَلْبِي مُتَعَلِّقاً بِكَامِلِ فَرَائِضِكَ، فَلَا أَخْزَى.

Let mine heart be blameless in thine ordinances, that I may not be ashamed.

٨١ 81 تَتَلَهَّفُ نَفْسِي إِلَى خَلاصِكَ. رَجَائِي هُوَ كَلِمَتُكَ.

My soul faints for thy salvation: I have hoped in thy words.

٨٢ 82 كَلَّتْ عَيْنَايَ فِي انْتِظَارِ كَلامِكَ، وَأَنَا أَقُولُ: مَتَى تُعَزِّينِي؟

Mine eyes failed [in waiting] for thy word, saying, When wilt thou comfort me?

٨٣ 83 أَصْبَحْتُ كَقِرْبَةِ خَمْرٍ أَتْلَفَتْهَا الْحَرَارَةُ وَالدُّخَانُ، وَلَكِنِّي لَمْ أَنْسَ فَرَائِضَكَ.

For I am become as a bottle in the frost: [yet] I have not forgotten thine ordinances.

٨٤ 84 كَمْ هِي أَيَّامُ عُمْرِ عَبْدِكَ؟ مَتَى تُنْزِلُ الْقَضَاءَ بِالَّذِينَ يَضْطَهِدُونَنِي؟

How many are the days of thy servant? when wilt thou execute judgment for me on them that persecute me?

٨٥ 85 الْمُتَكَبِّرُونَ الَّذِينَ يَعْصَوْنَ شَرِيعَتَكَ حَفَرُوا لِي حُفَراً.

Transgressors told me [idle tales]; but not according to thy law, O Lord.

٨٦ 86 وَصَايَاكَ كُلُّهَا صَادِقَةٌ. زُوراً يَضْطَهِدُونَنِي فَأَغِثْنِي.

All thy commandments are truth; they persecuted me unjustly; help thou me.

٨٧ 87 لَوْلَا قَلِيلٌ لأَفْنَوْنِي مِنَ الأَرْضِ، لَكِنِّي لَمْ أَتْرُكْ شَرِيعَتَكْ.

They nearly made an end of me in the earth; but I forsook not thy commandments.

٨٨ 88 أَحْيِنِي بِمُقْتَضَى رَحْمَتِكَ، فَأُطِيعَ شَرَائِعَكَ.

Quicken me according to thy mercy; so shall I keep the testimonies of thy mouth.

٨٩ 89 يَا رَبُّ كَلِمَتُكَ تَدُومُ ثَابِتَةً فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ إِلَى الأَبَدِ.

Thy word, O Lord, abides in heaven for ever.

٩٠ 90 مِنْ جِيلٍ إِلَى جِيلٍ أَمَانَتُكَ. أَنْتَ أَسَّسْتَ الأَرْضَ فَلَنْ تَتَزَعْزَعَ.

Thy truth [endures] to all generations; thou hast founded the earth, and it abides.

٩١ 91 بِمُوْجِبِ أَحْكَامِكَ تَثْبُتُ الْيَوْمَ، لأَنَّ الْكُلَّ خُدَّامٌ لَكَ.

The day continues by thy arrangement; for all things are thy servants.

٩٢ 92 لَوْ لَمْ تَكُنْ شَرِيعَتُكَ مُتْعَتِي، لَهَلَكْتُ فِي مَذَلَّتِي،

Were it not that thy law is my (meditation) then I should have perished in mine affliction.

٩٣ 93 لَنْ أَنْسَى وَصَايَاكَ أَبَداً، لأَنَّكَ بِها وَهَبْتَنِي الْحَيَاةَ.

I will never forget thine ordinances; for with them thou hast quickened me.

٩٤ 94 أَنَا لَكَ، فَخَلِّصْنِي، لأَنِّي الْتَمَسْتُ وَصَايَاكَ.

I am thine, save me; for I have sought out thine ordinances.

٩٥ 95 تَرَبَّصَ بِيَ الأَشْرَارُ لِيُهْلِكُونِي، لَكِنِّي أَتَأَمَّلُ فِي شَهَادَاتِكَ.

Sinners laid wait for me to destroy me; [but] I understood thy testimonies.

٩٦ 96 رَأَيْتُ لِكُلِّ كَمَالٍ حَدّاً، أَمَّا وَصِيَّتُكَ فَلَا حَدَّ لَهَا.

have seen an end of all perfection; [but] thy commandment is very broad.

٩٧ 97 كَمْ أَحْبَبْتُ شَرِيعَتَكَ، إِنَّهَا مَوْضُوعُ تَأَمُّلِي طُولَ النَّهَارِ.

How I have loved thy law, O Lord! it is my meditation all the day.

٩٨ 98 وَصِيَّتُكَ جَعَلَتْنِي أَحْكَمَ مِنْ أَعْدَائِي، لأَنَّهَا نَصِيبِي إِلَى الأَبَدِ.

Thou hast made me wiser than mine enemies [in] thy commandment; for it is mine for ever.

٩٩ 99 صِرْتُ أَكْثَرَ فَهْماً مِنْ مُعَلِّمِيَّ، لأَنَّ شَهَادَاتِكَ هِيَ مَوْضُوعُ تَأَمُّلِي.

I have more understanding than all my teachers; for thy testimonies are my medication.

١٠٠ 100 صِرْتُ أَكْثَرَ فِطْنَةً مِنَ الشُّيُوخِ، لأَنِّي رَاعَيْتُ وَصَايَاكَ.

I understand more that the aged; because I have sought out thy commandments.

١٠١ 101 مَنَعْتُ قَدَمَيَّ عَنْ سُلُوكِ كُلِّ طَرِيقِ شَرٍّ، لِكَيْ أَحْفَظَ كَلامَكَ.

I have kept back my feet from every evil way, that I might keep thy words.

١٠٢ 102 لَمْ أَبْتَعِدْ عَنْ أَحْكَامِكَ لأَنَّكَ هَكَذَا عَلَّمْتَنِي.

I have not declined from thy judgments; for thou hast instructed me.

١٠٣ 103 مَا أَحْلَى أَقْوَالَكَ لِمَذَاقِي. إِنَّهَا أَحْلَى مِنَ الْعَسَلِ فِي فَمِي.

How sweet are thine oracles to my throat! more so than honey to my mouth!

١٠٤ 104 مِنْ وَصَايَاكَ اكْتَسَبْتُ فِطْنَةً لِذَلِكَ أَبْغَضْتُ كُلَّ طَرِيقٍ بَاطِلٍ.

I gain understanding by thy commandments: therefore I have hated every way of unrighteousness.

١٠٥ 105 سِرَاجٌ لِرِجْلِي كَلامُكَ وَنُورٌ لِسَبِيلِي.

Thy law is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my paths.

١٠٦ 106 أَقْسَمْتُ يَمِيناً مُوَثَّقَةً أَنْ أَحْفَظَ أَحْكَامَكَ الْعَادِلَةَ.

I have sworn and determined to keep the judgments of thy righteousness.

١٠٧ 107 قَاسَيْتُ جِدّاً فَأَنْعِشْنِي يَا رَبُّ بِمُقْتَضَى وَعْدِكَ.

I have been very greatly afflicted, O Lord: quicken me, according to thy word.

١٠٨ 108 تَقَبَّلْ يَا رَبُّ صَلَوَاتِ شُكْرِي، وَعَلِّمْنِي أَحْكَامَكَ.

Accept, I pray thee, O Lord, the freewill-offerings of my mouth, and teach me thy judgments.

١٠٩ 109 نَفْسِي دَائِماً فِي كَفِّي، لَكِنِّي لَا أَنْسَى شَرِيعَتَكَ.

My soul is continually in thine hands; and I have not forgotten thy law.

١١٠ 110 نَصَبَ الأَشْرَارُ لِي فَخّاً فَتَفَادَيْتُهُ لأَنِّي لَمْ أَضِلَّ عَنْ وَصَايَاكَ.

Sinners spread a snare for me; but I erred not from thy commandments.

١١١ 111 اتَّخَذْتُ شَهَادَاتِكَ مِيرَاثاً إِلَى الأَبَدِ، لأَنَّهَا بَهْجَةُ قَلْبِي.

I have inherited thy testimonies for ever; for they are the joy of my heart.

١١٢ 112 لَقَدْ عَزَمْتُ أَنْ أُتَمِّمَ فَرَائِضَكَ إِلَى أَنْ أَمُوتَ.

I have inclined my heart to perform thine ordinances for ever, in return [for thy mercies].

١١٣ 113 أَبْغَضْتُ ذَوِي الرَّأْيِ الْمُتَقَلِّبِ، أَمَّا شَرِيعَتُكَ فَأَحْبَبْتُ.

I have hated transgressors; but I have loved thy law.

١١٤ 114 أَنْتَ مَلْجَإِي وَتُرْسِي، وَأَمَلِي فِي كَلِمَتِكَ.

Thou art my helper and my supporter; I have hoped in thy words.

١١٥ 115 ابْتَعِدُوا عَنِّي يَا فَاعِلِي الشَّرِّ، فَأَحْفَظَ وَصَايَا إِلَهِي.

Depart from me, ye evil-doers; for I will search out the commandments of my God.

١١٦ 116 كُنْ سَنَدِي كَمَا وَعَدْتَ، فَأَحْيَا وَلَا يَخِيبَ رَجَائِي.

Uphold me according to thy word, and quicken me; and make me not ashamed of my expectation.

١١٧ 117 اعْضُدْنِي فَأَخْلُصَ، وَأُرَاعِيَ فَرَائِضَكَ دَائِماً.

Help me, and I shall be saved; and I will meditate in thine ordinances continually.

١١٨ 118 احْتَقَرْتَ الضَّالِّينَ عَنْ فَرَائِضِكَ، وَمَكْرُهُمْ لَا يُجْدِيهِمْ نَفْعاً.

Thou hast brought to nought all that depart from thine ordinances; for their inward thought is unrighteous.

١١٩ 119 رَذَلْتَ جَمِيعَ أَشْرَارِ الأَرْضِ كَأَنَّهُمْ نُفَايَةٌ، لِذَلِكَ أَحْبَبْتُ شَهَادَاتِكَ.

I have reckoned all the sinners of the earth as transgressors; therefore have I loved thy testimonies.

١٢٠ 120 اقْشَعَرَّ بَدَنِي رُعْباً مِنْكَ وَجَزِعْتُ مِنْ أَحْكَامِكَ.

Penetrate my flesh with thy fear; for I am afraid of thy judgments.

١٢١ 121 أَجْرَيْتُ قَضَاءً وَعَدْلاً، فَلَا تُسْلِمْنِي إِلَى ظَالِمِيَّ.

I have done judgment and justice; deliver me not up to them that injure me.

١٢٢ 122 كُنْ ضَامِناً لِخَيْرِ عَبْدِكَ، فَلَا يَجُورَ عَلَيَّ الْمُتَكَبِّرُونَ.

Receive thy servant for good: let not the proud accuse me falsely.

١٢٣ 123 كَلَّتْ عَيْنَايَ اشْتِيَاقاً إِلَى خَلاصِكَ وَإِلَى تَحْقِيقِ وَعْدِكَ الأَمِينِ.

Mine eyes have failed for thy salvation, and for the word of thy righteousness.

١٢٤ 124 عَامِلْ عَبْدَكَ بِمُقْتَضَى رَحْمَتِكَ، وَعَلِّمْنِي فَرَائِضَكَ.

Deal with thy servant according to thy mercy, and teach me thine ordinances.

١٢٥ 125 عَبْدُكَ أَنَا، فَهَبْنِي فَهْماً لأَعْرِفَ شَهَادَاتِكَ.

I am thy servant; instruct me, and I shall know thy testimonies.

١٢٦ 126 يَا رَبُّ آنَ لَكَ أَنْ تَعْمَلَ، فَقَدْ نَقَضُوا شَرِيعَتَكَ.

[It is] time for the Lord to work: they have utterly broken thy law.

١٢٧ 127 لِذَلِكَ أُحِبُّ وَصَايَاكَ أَكْثَرَ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ الْخَالِصِ،

Therefore have I loved thy commandments more than gold, or the topaz.

١٢٨ 128 وَلأَنِّي أَحْسِبُ كُلَّ فَرَائِضِكَ مُسْتَقِيمَةً فِي كُلِّ شَيْءٍ، أُبْغِضُ كُلَّ طَرِيقٍ بَاطِلٍ.

Therefore I directed myself [according] to all thy commandments: I have hated every unjust way.

١٢٩ 129 مَا أَعْجَبَ شَهَادَاتِكَ. لِذَلِكَ تُرَاعِيهَا نَفْسِي.

Thy testimonies are wonderful: therefore my soul has sought them out.

١٣٠ 130 فَتْحُ كَلامِكَ يُنِيرُ الذِّهْنَ، وَيَهِبُ الْبُسَطَاءَ فَهْماً.

The manifestation of thy words will enlighten, and instruct the simple.

١٣١ 131 فَغَرْتُ فَمِي لاهِثاً اشْتِيَاقاً إِلَى وَصَايَاكَ.

I opened my mouth, and drew breath: for I earnestly longed after thy commandments.

١٣٢ 132 الْتَفِتْ إِلَيَّ وَتَحَنَّنْ عَلَيَّ، كَمَا تَفْعَلُ دَائِماً مَعَ مُحِبِّيكَ.

Look upon me and have mercy upon me, after the manner of them that love thy name.

١٣٣ 133 ثَبِّتْ خُطْوَاتِي فِي كَلِمَتِكَ، وَلَا تَدَعْ أَيَّ إِثْمٍ يَتَسَلَّطُ عَلَيَّ.

Order my steps according to thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.

١٣٤ 134 حَرِّرْنِي مِنْ ظُلْمِ الإِنْسَانِ، فَأَحْفَظَ وَصَايَاكَ.

Deliver me from the false accusation of men: so will I keep thy commandments.

١٣٥ 135 أَضِئْ بِوَجْهِكَ عَلَى عَبْدِكَ، وَعَلِّمْنِي فَرَائِضَكَ.

Cause thy face to shine upon thy servant: and teach me thine ordinances.

١٣٦ 136 فَاضَتْ مِنْ عَيْنَيَّ يَنَابِيعُ دَمْعٍ، لأَنَّهُمْ لَمْ يُرَاعُوا شَرِيعَتَكَ.

Mine eyes have been bathed in streams of water, because I kept not thy law.

١٣٧ 137 عَادِلٌ أَنْتَ يَا رَبُّ، وَأَحْكَامُكَ مُسْتَقِيمَةٌ.

Righteous art thou, O Lord, and upright are thy judgments.

١٣٨ 138 أَصْدَرْتَ أَوَامِرَكَ بِعَدْلٍ وَبِأَقْصَى الأَمَانَةِ.

Thou has commanded righteousness and perfect truth, [as] thy testimonies.

١٣٩ 139 أَتَمَيَّزُ غَيْرَةً فِي دَاخِلِي، لأَنَّ أَعْدَائِي تَغَاضَوْا عَنْ كَلامِكَ.

Thy zeal has quite wasted me: because mine enemies have forgotten thy words.

١٤٠ 140 أَقْوَالُكَ مُمَحَّصَةٌ نَقِيَّةٌ، وَعَبْدُكَ أَحَبَّهَا.

Thy word [has been] very fully tried; and thy servant loves it.

١٤١ 141 صَغِيرُ الشَّأْنِ أَنَا وَحَقِيرٌ وَمَعَ ذَلِكَ لَمْ أَنْسَ وَصَايَاكَ.

I am young and despised: [yet] I have not forgotten thine ordinances.

١٤٢ 142 عَدْلُكَ عَدْلٌ أَبَدِيٌّ وَشَرِيعَتُكَ حَقٌّ.

Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is truth.

١٤٣ 143 اسْتَوْلَى عَلَيَّ الضِّيقُ وَالشِّدَّةُ، وَلَا لَذَّةَ لِي إِلّا بِوَصَايَاكَ.

Afflictions and distresses found me: [but] thy commandments [were] my (meditation)

١٤٤ 144 شَهَادَاتُكَ عَدْلٌ إِلَى الأَبَدِ. فَهِّمْنِي إِيَّاهَا فَأَحْيَا.

Thy testimonies [are] an everlasting righteousness: instruct me, and I shall live.

١٤٥ 145 صَرَخْتُ إِلَيْكَ مِنْ كُلِّ قَلْبِي، فَاسْتَجِبْ لِي يَا رَبُّ، وَسَأُرَاعِي شَرَائِعَكَ.

I cried with my whole heart; hear me, O Lord: I will search out thine ordinances.

١٤٦ 146 إِيَّاكَ دَعَوْتُ فَخَلِّصْنِي لأُطِيعَ شَهَادَاتِكَ.

I cried to thee; save me, and I will keep thy testimonies.

١٤٧ 147 اسْتَيْقَظْتُ قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ وَاسْتَغَثْتُ؛ رَجَائِي فِي كَلامِكَ.

I arose before the dawn, and cried: I hoped in thy words.

١٤٨ 148 اللَّيْلَ كُلَّهُ أَظَلُّ مُسْتَيْقِظاً، أَتَأَمَّلُ فِي أَقْوَالِكَ

Mine eyes prevented the dawn, that I might meditate on thine oracles.

١٤٩ 149 اسْتَمِعْ لِي يَا رَبُّ بِمُقْتَضَى رَحْمَتِكَ، وَأَحْيِنِي بِمُوْجِبِ أَحْكَامِكَ.

Hear my voice, O Lord, according to thy mercy; quicken me according to thy judgment.

١٥٠ 150 اقْتَرَبَ مِنِّي السَّاعُونَ وَرَاءَ الرَّذِيلَةِ، الْبَعِيدُونَ عَنْ شَرِيعَتِكَ.

They have drawn nigh who persecuted me unlawfully; and they are far removed from thy law.

١٥١ 151 إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ يَا رَبُّ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيَّ، وَوَصَايَاكَ كُلُّهَا حَقٌّ.

Thou art near, O Lord; and all thy ways are truth.

١٥٢ 152 مُنْذُ الْقَدِيمِ عَرَفْتُ مِنْ شَهَادَاتِكَ أَنَّكَ وَضَعْتَهَا لِتَثْبُتَ إِلَى الأَبَدِ.

I have known of old concerning thy testimonies, that thou hast founded them for ever.

١٥٣ 153 انْظُرْ إِلَى مَذَلَّتِي وَأَنْقِذْنِي، لأَنِّي لَمْ أَنْسَ شَرِيعَتَكَ.

Look upon mine affliction, and rescue me; for I have not forgotten thy law.

١٥٤ 154 تَوَلَّ قَضِيَّتِي وَافْدِنِي، أَحْيِنِي حَسَبَ كَلِمَتِكَ.

Plead my cause, and ransom me: quicken me because of thy word.

١٥٥ 155 الْخَلاصُ بَعِيدٌ عَنِ الأَشْرَارِ، لأَنَّهُمْ لَا يَطْلُبُونَ فَرَائِضَكَ.

Salvation is far from sinners: for they have not searched out thine ordinances.

١٥٦ 156 مَا أَكْثَرَ مَرَاحِمَكَ يَا رَبُّ. أَحْيِنِي بِمُقْتَضَى أَحْكَامِكَ.

Thy mercies, O Lord, are many: quicken me according to thy judgment.

١٥٧ 157 كَثِيرُونَ هُمْ أَعْدَائِي وَمُضْطَهِدِيَّ، وَلَكِنِّي لَمْ أَحِدْ عَنْ شَهَادَاتِكَ.

Many are they that persecute me and oppress me: [but] I have not declined from thy testimonies.

١٥٨ 158 نَظَرْتُ إِلَى الْغَادِرِينَ شَزْراً، لأَنَّهُمْ لَمْ يُطِيعُوا كَلِمَتَكَ.

I beheld men acting foolishly, and I pined away; for they kept not thine oracles.

١٥٩ 159 انْظُرْ كَيْفَ أَحْبَبْتُ وَصَايَاكَ فَأَحْيِنِي يَا رَبُّ بِمُقْتَضَى رَحْمَتِكَ.

Behold, I have loved thy commandments, O Lord: quicken me in thy mercy.

١٦٠ 160 كَلامُكَ بِأَسْرِهِ حَقٌّ، وَكُلُّ أَحْكَامِكَ إِلَى الأَبَدِ عَادِلَةٌ.

The beginning of thy words is truth; and all the judgments of thy righteousness [endure] for ever.

١٦١ 161 اضْطَهَدَنِي رُؤَسَاءُ مِنْ غَيْرِ عِلَّةٍ، لَكِنَّ قَلْبِي لَا يَهَابُ سِوَى كَلامِكَ.

Princes persecuted me without a cause, but my heart feared because of thy words.

١٦٢ 162 أَبْتَهِجُ بِكَلامِكَ كَبَهْجَةِ مَنْ عَثَرَ عَلَى غَنِيمَةٍ جَزِيلَةٍ.

I will exult because of thine oracles, as one that finds much spoil.

١٦٣ 163 أَبْغَضْتُ الْكَذِبَ وَمَقَتُّهُ، أَمَّا شَرِيعَتُكَ فَأَحْبَبْتُهَا.

I hate and abhor unrighteousness; but I love thy law.

١٦٤ 164 سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ سَبَّحْتُكَ فِي النَّهَارِ عَلَى أَحْكَامِكَ الْعَادِلَةِ.

Seven times in a day have I praised thee because of the judgments of thy righteousness.

١٦٥ 165 سَلامٌ جَزِيلٌ لِمُحِبِّي شَرِيعَتِكَ، وَلَنْ يُعْثِرَهُمْ بِفَضْلِهَا شَيْءٌ

Great peace have they that love thy law: and there is no stumbling-block to them.

١٦٦ 166 رَجَوْتُ خَلاصَكَ يَا رَبُّ وَوَصَايَاكَ عَمِلْتُ.

I waited for thy salvation, O Lord, and have loved thy commandments.

١٦٧ 167 حَفِظَتْ نَفْسِي شَهَادَاتِكَ وَأَنَا أُحِبُّهَا جِدّاً.

My soul has kept thy testimonies, and loved them exceedingly.

١٦٨ 168 رَاعَيْتُ وَصَايَاكَ وَشَهَادَاتِكَ، وَجَمِيعُ أَعْمَالِي مَاثِلَةٌ أَمَامَكَ.

I have kept thy commandments and thy testimonies; for all my ways are before thee, O Lord.

١٦٩ 169 لِيَصِلْ صُرَاخِي إِلَيْكَ يَا رَبُّ. هَبْنِي فَهْماً حَسَبَ كَلامِكَ.

Let my supplication come near before thee, o Lord; instruct me according to thine oracle.

١٧٠ 170 لِتَمْثُلْ طِلْبَتِي أَمَامَكَ. أَنْقِذْنِي بِمُوجِبِ وَعْدِكَ.

Let my petition come in before thee, O Lord; deliver me according to thine oracle.

١٧١ 171 تَفِيضُ شَفَتَايَ تَسْبِيحاً إذْ تُعَلِّمُنِي فَرَائِضَكَ.

Let my lips utter a hymn, when thou shalt have taught me thine ordinances.

١٧٢ 172 يَشْدُو لِسَانِي بِأَقْوَالِكَ، لأَنَّ جَمِيعَ وَصَايَاكَ عَدْلٌ.

Let my tongue utter thine oracles; for all thy commandments are righteous.

١٧٣ 173 لِتُغِثْنِي يَدُكَ لأَنِّي اخْتَرْتُ وَصَايَاكَ.

Let thine hand be [prompt] to save me; for I have chosen thy commandments.

١٧٤ 174 اشْتَقْتُ إِلَى خَلاصِكَ يَا رَبُّ؛ شَرِيعَتُكَ هِيَ مَسَرَّتِي.

I have longed after thy salvation, O Lord; and thy law is my (meditation)

١٧٥ 175 لِتَحْيَ نَفْسِي فَتُسَبِّحَكَ وَلْتَكُنْ أَحْكَامُكَ لِي عَوْناً.

My soul shall live, and shall praise thee; and thy judgments shall help me.

١٧٦ 176 تِهْتُ كَخَرُوفٍ ضَالٍّ. فَابْحَثْ عَنْ عَبْدِكَ، فَإِنِّي لَمْ أَنْسَ وَصَايَاكَ.

I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek thy servant; for I have not forgotten thy commandments.
