المَزامِير 107

١ 1 ارْفَعُوا الشُّكْرَ لِلرَّبِّ لأَنَّهُ صَالِحٌ، وَرَحْمَتَهُ إِلَى الأَبَدِ تَدُومُ.

O give thanks to Yahweh—For he is good, For, age-abiding, is his lovingkindness.

٢ 2 لِيَقُلْ هَذَا مَفْدِيُّو الرَّبِّ، الَّذِينَ افْتَدَاهُمْ مِنْ يَدِ ظَالِمِهِمْ.

Let the redeemed of Yahweh say, Whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the adversary;

٣ 3 لَمَّ شَتَاتَهُمْ مِنَ الْبُلْدَانِ: مِنَ الشَّرْقِ وَالْغَرْبِ، مِنَ الشِّمَالِ وَالْجَنُوبِ.

And, out of the lands, hath gathered them—From the east and from the west, From the north and from the south.

٤ 4 تَاهُوا فِي الْبَرِّيَّةِ، فِي صَحْرَاءَ بِلَا طَرِيقٍ، وَلَمْ يَجِدُوا مَدِينَةً يَسْكُنُونَ فِيهَا.

They wandered about in the desert—in a waste, Way to a city to dwell in, found they none;

٥ 5 جَاعُوا وَعَطِشُوا حَتَّى خَارَتْ نُفُوسُهُمْ فِي دَاخِلِهِمْ.

Hungry—yea thirsty, their soul, within them, fainted:

٦ 6 فَاسْتَغَاثُوا بِالرَّبِّ فِي ضِيقِهِمْ، فَأَنْقَذَهُمْ مِنْ مَصَائِبِهِمْ.

Then made they outcry to Yahweh, in their peril, Out of their distresses, he rescued them;

٧ 7 وَهَدَاهُمْ طَرِيقاً مُسْتَقِيماً لِيَتَوَجَّهُوا إِلَى مَدِينَةٍ لِلسَّكَنِ.

And led them by a straight road, That they might journey to a city to dwell in.

٨ 8 فَلْيَرْفَعُوا الشُّكْرَ لِلرَّبِّ عَلَى رَحْمَتِهِ وَعَلَى عَجَائِبِهِ لِبَنِي آدَمَ.

Let them give thanks to Yahweh for his lovingkindness, and for his wonderful dealings with the sons of men;

٩ 9 لأَنَّهُ أَشْبَعَ النَّفْسَ الْمُتَلَهِّفَةَ وَمَلأَ النَّفْسَ الْجَائِعَةَ خَيْراً.

For he hath satisfied the longing soul, and, the famished soul, hath he filled with good.

١٠ 10 كَانُوا جَالِسِينَ كَالأَسْرَى فِي الظَّلامِ وَظِلالِ الْمَوْتِ، مُوْثَقِينَ بِالذُّلِّ وَالْحَدِيدِ،

The dwellers in darkness and death-shade, bound with oppression and iron;

١١ 11 لأَنَّهُمْ تَمَرَّدُوا عَلَى كَلامِ اللهِ، وَاسْتَهَانُوا بِمَشُورَةِ الْعَلِيِّ.

Because they had rebelled against the sayings of GOD, —and, the counsel of the Most High, they had spurned;

١٢ 12 فَأَذَلَّ قُلُوبَهُمْ بِالْجَهْدِ الْمُضْنِي. تَعَثَّرُوا وَلَمْ يَكُنْ مِنْ مُعِينٍ.

And he bowed down, with labour, their heart, They staggered, with no one to help,

١٣ 13 ثُمَّ اسْتَغَاثُوا بِالرَّبِّ فِي ضِيقِهِمْ فَأَنْقَذَهُمْ مِنْ مَصَائِبِهِمْ.

Then made they outcry to Yahweh in their peril, Out of their distresses, he saved them;

١٤ 14 أَخْرَجَهُمْ مِنَ الظَّلامِ وَظِلالِ الْمَوْتِ وَحَطَّمَ قُيُودَهُمْ.

He brought them forth out of darkness and death-shade, and, their fetters, he tare off.

١٥ 15 فَلْيَرْفَعُوا الشُّكْرَ لِلرَّبِّ عَلَى رَحْمَتِهِ، وَعَلَى عَجَائِبِهِ لِبَنِي آدَمَ.

Let them give thanks to Yahweh for his lovingkindness, and for his wonderful dealings with the sons of men!

١٦ 16 لأَنَّهُ كَسَّرَ أَبْوَابَ النُّحَاسِ، وَقَطَّعَ عَوَارِضَ الْحَدِيدِ.

For he brake in pieces the doors of bronze, And, the bars of iron, he hewed asunder.

١٧ 17 سَفِهُوا فِي جَهْلِهِمْ وَسَقِمُوا مِنْ جَرَّاءِ آثَامِهِمْ.

The perverse, by reason of their transgression, and on account of their iniquities, are afflicted;

١٨ 18 عَافَتْ أَنْفُسُهُمْ كُلَّ طَعَامٍ، فَصَارُوا عَلَى شَفَا الْمَوْتِ.

All manner of food, their soul abhorreth, and so they draw near unto the gates of death,

١٩ 19 ثُمَّ اسْتَغَاثُوا بِالرَّبِّ فِي ضِيقِهِمْ، فَأَنْقَذَهُمْ مِنْ مَصَائِبِهِمْ.

Then make they outcry to Yahweh in their peril, and, out of their distresses, he saveth them.

٢٠ 20 أَصْدَرَ أَمْرَهُ فَشَفَاهُمْ، وَخَلَّصَهُمْ مِنْ مَهَالِكِهِمْ.

He sendeth his word, and healeth them, and delivereth them from their graves.

٢١ 21 فَلْيَرْفَعُوا الشُّكْرَ لِلرَّبِّ عَلَى رَحْمَتِهِ، وَعَلَى عَجَائِبِهِ لِبَنِي آدَمَ.

Let them give thanks to Yahweh for his lovingkindness, and for his wonderful dealings with the sons of men!

٢٢ 22 وَلْيُقَرِّبُوا لَهُ ذَبَائِحَ الشُّكْرِ، وَيُحَدِّثُوا بِأَعْمَالِهِ بِتَرَانِيمِ الْفَرَحِ.

Yea let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and recount his works with a shout.

٢٣ 23 رَكِبَ بَعْضُهُمُ الْبِحَارَ فِي السُّفُنِ التِّجَارِيَّةِ، لِيَكْسَبُوا رِزْقَهُمْ،

Men who go down to the sea, in ships, doing business through mighty waters;

٢٤ 24 وَرَأَوْا أَعْمَالَ الرَّبِّ وَعَجَائِبَهُ فِي عُمْقِ الْمِيَاهِ.

They, see the works of Yahweh, and his wonders in the deep;

٢٥ 25 فَإِنَّهُ بِأَمْرِهِ أَثَارَ رِيحاً عَاصِفَةً فَأَهَاجَتْ أَمْوَاجَ الْبَحْرِ

And he speaketh, and there ariseth a tempestuous wind, which lifteth on high its rolling waves;

٢٦ 26 فَارْتَفَعَتِ السُّفُنُ إِلَى الأَعَالِي، ثُمَّ هَبَطَتْ إِلَى الأَعْمَاقِ، حَتَّى ذَابَتْ نُفُوسُهُمْ مِنَ الْفَزَعِ.

They mount the heavens, they descend the roaring deeps, their soul, by trouble, dissolveth;

٢٧ 27 تَمَايَلُوا وَتَرَنَّحُوا مِثْلَ السَّكْرَانِ، وَأَعْيَتْهُمُ الْحِيلَةُ.

They reel and stagger, like a drunken man, and, all their wisdom, is engulfed,

٢٨ 28 ثُمَّ اسْتَغَاثُوا بِالرَّبِّ فِي ضِيقِهِمْ، فَأَنْقَذَهُمْ مِنْ مَصَائِبِهِمْ.

Then make they outcry to Yahweh in their peril, and, out of their distresses, he bringeth them forth,

٢٩ 29 هَدَّأَ الْعَاصِفَةَ الشَّدِيدَةَ، وَسَكَّنَ الأَمْوَاجَ.

He calmeth the storm to a whisper, and silent are their rolling waves:

٣٠ 30 فَفَرِحُوا بِهُدُوئِهَا، ثُمَّ اقْتَادَهُمْ إِلَى الْمَرْفَأ الْمَنْشُودِ.

Then are they glad, because they are hushed, And he guideth them unto their desired haven.

٣١ 31 فَلْيَرْفَعُوا الشُّكْرَ عَلَى رَحْمَتِهِ، وَعَلَى عَجَائِبِهِ لِبَنِي آدَمَ.

Let them give thanks to Yahweh for his lovingkindness, and for his wonderful dealings with the sons of men!

٣٢ 32 وَلْيُعَظِّمُوهُ فِي مَحْفَلِ الشَّعْبِ، وَلْيُسَبِّحُوهُ فِي اجْتِمَاعِ الشُّيُوخِ.

Yea let them extol him in the convocation of the people, and, in the seated company of elders, let them praise him.

٣٣ 33 إِنَّهُ يُحَوِّلُ الأَنْهَارَ إِلَى قِفَارٍ، وَيَنَابِيعَ الْمَاءِ إِلَى أَرْضٍ عَطْشَى.

He turneth Rivers into a desert, and, Springs of Water, into thirsty ground,

٣٤ 34 يَجْعَلُ الْحُقُولَ الْخَصِيبَةَ أَرْضاً مَلِحَةً جَرْدَاءَ مِنْ جَرَّاءِ شَرِّ سُكَّانِهَا.

A Land of Fruit, into a waste of salt, For the wickedness of them who dwell therein.

٣٥ 35 يُحَوِّلُ الْبَرِّيَّةَ إِلَى وَاحَةٍ، وَالأَرْضَ الْقَاحِلَةَ يَنَابِيعَ مِيَاهٍ.

He turneth A Desert, into a pool of water, and, A Parched Land into springs of water;

٣٦ 36 يُسْكِنُ هُنَاكَ الْجِيَاعَ فَيُنْشِئُونَ مَدِينَةً آهِلَةً.

And hath caused the famished to dwell there, And they have built them a city to dwell in;

٣٧ 37 وَيَزْرَعُونَ حُقُولاً وَيَغْرِسُونَ كُرُوماً تُنْتِجُ لَهُمْ غِلَالاً وَفِيرَةً.

And have sown fields, and planted vineyards, and made them fruits of increase:

٣٨ 38 وَيُبَارِكُهُمْ أَيْضاً فَيَتَكَاثَرُونَ جِدّاً، وَلَا يَدَعُ مَوَاشِيَهُمْ تَتَنَاقَصُ.

Thus hath he blessed them, and they have multiplied greatly, And, their cattle, he maketh not few.

٣٩ 39 عِنْدَمَا يَقِلُّ الشَّعْبُ وَيَذِلُّ بِفِعْلِ الضِّيقِ وَالْبَلايَا وَالأَحْزَانِ،

So have they become few and been brought low, By oppression, misfortune, and sorrow;

٤٠ 40 يَصُبُّ اللهُ الْهَوَانَ عَلَى الرُّؤَسَاءِ، وَيُضِلُّهُمْ فِي أَرْضِ تِيهٍ لَيْسَ فِيهَا طَرِيقٌ.

He poureth contempt upon nobles, and causeth them to wander in a pathless waste;

٤١ 41 لَكِنَّهُ يُنْقِذُ الْمُحْتَاجِينَ مِنَ الْبُؤْسِ، وَيُكَثِّرُ عَشَائِرَهُمْ مِثْلَ قُطْعَانِ الْغَنَمِ.

But he hath set the needy on high from affliction, and made families, like a flock: —

٤٢ 42 يَرَى الْمُسْتَقِيمُونَ هَذَا وَيَفْرَحُونَ، أَمَّا الأَثَمَةُ فَيَخْرَسُونَ.

The upright seeth and is glad, And, all perverseness, hath closed her mouth.

٤٣ 43 فَلْيَتَأَمَّلْ كُلُّ حَكِيمٍ فِي هَذِهِ الأُمُورِ، وَيُمْعِنِ النَّظَرَ فِي مَرَاحِمِ الرَّبِّ.

Who is wise? then let him observe these things! and diligently consider the lovingkindness of Yahweh.
