< الأمثال 31 >
هَذِهِ أَقْوَالُ لَمُوئِيلَ مَلِكِ مَسَّا الَّتِي تَلَقَّنَهَا عَنْ أُمِّهِ: | ١ 1 |
The words of king Lemuel; the oracle which his mother taught him.
مَاذَا يَا ابْنِي يَا ابْنَ أَحْشَائِي، يَا ابْنَ نُذُورِي؟ | ٢ 2 |
"Oh, my son. Oh, son of my womb. Oh, son of my vows.
لَا تُنْفِقْ قُوَّتَكَ عَلَى النِّسَاءِ، وَلا تَسْتَسْلِمْ لِمَنْ يُهْلِكْنَ الْمُلُوكَ. | ٣ 3 |
Do not give your strength to women, nor your ways to that which destroys kings.
لَيْسَ لِلْمُلُوكِ يَا لَمُوئِيلُ، لَيْسَ لِلْمُلُوكِ أَنْ يُدْمِنُوا الْخَمْرَ، وَلا لِلْعُظَمَاءِ أَنْ يَجْرَعُوا الْمُسْكِرَ. | ٤ 4 |
It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, or for princes to take strong drink,
لِئَلّا يَسْكَرُوا فَيَنْسَوْا الشَّرِيعَةَ، وَيَجُورُوا عَلَى حُقُوقِ الْبَائِسِينَ. | ٥ 5 |
lest they drink, and forget the decree, and pervert the justice due to anyone who is afflicted.
أَعْطُوا الْمُسْكِرَ لِلْهَالِكِ، وَالْخَمْرَ لِذَوِي النُّفُوسِ التَّعِسَةِ، | ٦ 6 |
Give strong drink to him who is ready to perish; and wine to the bitter in soul:
فَيَثْمَلُوا وَيَنْسَوْا فَقْرَهُمْ، وَلا يَذْكُرُوا بُؤْسَهُمْ بَعْدُ. | ٧ 7 |
Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.
افْتَحْ فَمَكَ مُدَافِعاً عَنِ الأَخْرَسِ، وَفِي دَعْوَى كُلِّ مَنْبُوذٍ. | ٨ 8 |
Open your mouth for the mute, in the cause of all who are left desolate.
افْتَحْ فَمَكَ قَاضِياً بِالْعَدْلِ، وَدَافِعْ عَنْ حُقُوقِ الْفُقَرَاءِ وَالْمُحْتَاجِينَ. | ٩ 9 |
Open your mouth, judge righteously, and serve justice to the poor and needy."
مَنْ يَعْثُرُ عَلَى الْمَرْأَةِ الْفَاضِلَةِ؟ إِنَّ قِيمَتَهَا تَفُوقُ اللَّآلِئَ. | ١٠ 10 |
Who can find a worthy woman? For her price is far above rubies.
بِها يَثِقُ قَلْبُ زَوْجِهَا فَلا يَحْتَاجُ إِلَى مَا هُوَ نَفِيسٌ. | ١١ 11 |
The heart of her husband trusts in her. He shall have no lack of gain.
تُسْبِغُ عَلَيْهِ الْخَيْرَ دُونَ الشَّرِّ كُلَّ أَيَّامِ حَيَاتِهَا. | ١٢ 12 |
She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.
تَلْتَمِسُ صُوفاً وَكَتَّاناً وَتَشْتَغِلُ بِيَدَيْنِ رَاضِيَتَيْنِ، | ١٣ 13 |
She seeks wool and flax, and works eagerly with her hands.
فَتَكُونُ كَسُفُنِ التَّاجِرِ الَّتِي تَجْلِبُ طَعَامَهَا مِنْ بِلادٍ نَائِيَةٍ. | ١٤ 14 |
She is like the merchant ships. She brings her bread from afar.
تَنْهَضُ وَاللَّيْلُ مَا بَرِحَ مُخَيِّماً، لِتُعِدَّ طَعَاماً لأَهْلِ بَيْتِهَا، وَتُدَبِّرَ أَعْمَالَ جَوَارِيهَا | ١٥ 15 |
She rises also while it is yet night, gives food to her household, and portions for her servant girls.
تَتَفَحَّصُ حَقْلاً وَتَشْتَرِيهِ، وَمِنْ مَكْسَبِ يَدَيْهَا تَغْرِسُ كَرْماً | ١٦ 16 |
She considers a field, and buys it. With the fruit of her hands, she plants a vineyard.
تُنَطِّقُ حَقَوَيْهَا بِالْقُوَّةِ وَتُشَدِّدُ ذِرَاعَيْهَا. | ١٧ 17 |
She girds her waist with strength, and makes her arms strong.
وَتُدْرِكُ أَنَّ تِجَارَتَهَا رَابِحَةٌ، وَلا يَنْطَفِئُ سِرَاجُهَا فِي اللَّيْلِ. | ١٨ 18 |
She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp doesn't go out by night.
تَقْبِضُ بِيَدَيْهَا عَلَى الْمِغْزَلِ وَتُمْسِكُ كَفَّاهَا بِالْفَلَكَةِ. | ١٩ 19 |
She lays her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle.
تَبْسُطُ كَفَّيْهَا لِلْفَقِيرِ وَتَمُدُّ يَدَيْهَا لإِغَاثَةِ الْبَائِسِ. | ٢٠ 20 |
She opens her arms to the poor; yes, she extends her hands to the needy.
لَا تَخْشَى عَلَى أَهْلِ بَيْتِهَا مِنَ الثَّلْجِ، لأَنَّ جَمِيعَهُمْ يَرْتَدُونَ الْحُلَلَ الْقِرْمِزِيَّةَ. | ٢١ 21 |
She is not afraid of the snow for her household; for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
تَصْنَعُ لِنَفْسِهَا أَغْطِيَةً مُوَشَّاةً، وَثِيَابُهَا مُحَاكَةٌ مِنْ كَتَّانٍ وَأُرْجُوَانٍ. | ٢٢ 22 |
She makes for herself carpets of tapestry. Her clothing is fine linen and purple.
زَوْجُهَا مَعْرُوفٌ فِي مَجَالِسِ بَوَّابَاتِ الْمَدِينَةِ، حَيْثُ يَجْلِسُ بَيْنَ وُجَهَاءِ الْبِلادِ. | ٢٣ 23 |
Her husband is respected in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land.
تَصْنَعُ أَقْمِصَةً كَتَّانِيَّةً وَتَبِيعُهَا، وَتُزَوِّدُ التَّاجِرَ الْكَنْعَانِيَّ بِمَنَاطِقَ. | ٢٤ 24 |
She makes linen garments and sells them, and delivers sashes to the merchant.
كِسَاؤُهَا الْعِزَّةُ وَالشَّرَفُ، وَتَبْتَهِجُ بِالأَيَّامِ الْمُقْبِلَةِ. | ٢٥ 25 |
Strength and dignity are her clothing. She laughs at the time to come.
يَنْطِقُ فَمُهَا بِالْحِكْمَةِ، وَفِي لِسَانِهَا سُنَّةُ الْمَعْرُوفِ. | ٢٦ 26 |
She opens her mouth with wisdom. Faithful instruction is on her tongue.
تَرْعَى بِعِنَايَةٍ شُؤُونَ أَهْلِ بَيْتِهَا، وَلا تَأْكُلُ خُبْزَ الْكَسَلِ. | ٢٧ 27 |
She looks well to the ways of her household, and doesn't eat the bread of idleness.
يَقُومُ أَبْنَاؤُهَا وَيَغْبِطُونَهَا، وَيُطْرِيهَا زَوْجُهَا أَيْضاً قَائِلاً: | ٢٨ 28 |
Her children rise up and call her blessed. Her husband also praises her:
«نِسَاءٌ كَثِيرَاتٌ قُمْنَ بِأَعْمَالٍ جَلِيلَةٍ، وَلَكِنَّكِ تَفَوَّقْتِ عَلَيْهِنَّ جَمِيعاً». | ٢٩ 29 |
"Many women do noble things, but you excel them all."
الْحُسْنُ غِشٌّ وَالْجَمَالُ بَاطِلٌ، أَمَّا الْمَرْأَةُ الْمُتَّقِيَّةُ الرَّبَّ فَهِيَ الَّتِي تُمْدَحُ. | ٣٠ 30 |
Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman who fears YHWH, she shall be praised.
أَعْطُوهَا مِنْ ثَمَرِ يَدَيْهَا، وَلْتَكُنْ أَعْمَالُهَا مَصْدَرَ الثَّنَاءِ عَلَيْهَا. | ٣١ 31 |
Give her of the fruit of her hands. Let her works praise her in the gates.
