نَحَمْيا 3
| وَقَامَ أَلِيَاشِيبُ رَئِيسُ الْكَهَنَةِ وَبَنَى بَابَ الضَّأْنِ بِمُؤَازَرَةِ إِخْوَتِهِ الْكَهَنَةِ. ثُمَّ قَدَّسُوهُ وَثَبَّتُوا مَصَارِيعَهُ، وَثَابَرُوا عَلَى الْبِنَاءِ حَتَّى بَلَغُوا بُرْجَ الْمِئَةِ وَبُرْجَ حَنَنْئِيلَ. | ١ 1 |
Then rose up Elyashib the high priest with his brethren the priests, and they built the sheep-gate; they sanctified it, and set up its doors: even as far as the tower of Meah did they sanctify it, as far as the tower of Chananel.
| وَقَامَ رِجَالُ أَرِيحَا إِلَى جِوَارِهِمْ يَبْنُونَ جُزءاً مِنَ السُّورِ، وَإِلَى جِوَارِهِمْ بَنَى زَكُّورُ بْنُ إِمْرِي، | ٢ 2 |
And by his side built the men of Jericho. And by his [other] side built Zaccur the son of Imri.
| وَبَنَى بَنُو هَسْنَاءَةَ بَابَ السَّمَكِ، وَسَقَفُوهُ وَنَصَبُوا مَصَارِيعَهُ وَأَقْفَالَهُ وَعَوَارِضَهُ. | ٣ 3 |
But the fish-gate did the sons of Hassenaah build: they also laid its beams, and set up its doors, its locks, and its bars.
| وَإِلَى جِوَارِهِمْ رَمَّمَ مَرِيمُوثُ بنُ أُورِيَّا بْنِ هَقُّوصَ قِسْماً مِنَ السُّورِ، كَمَا قَامَ إِلَى جِوَارِهِمْ مَشُلّامُ بْنُ بَرَخْيَا بْنِ مَشِيزَبْئِيلَ بِالتَّرْمِيمِ، وَإِلَى جَانِبِهِ رَمَّمَ صَادُوقُ بْنُ بَعْنَا. | ٤ 4 |
And alongside of them repaired Meremoth the son of Uriyah, the son of Kakkoz. And alongside of them repaired Meshullam the son of Berechyah, the son of Meshezabel. And alongside of them repaired Zadok the son of Ba'ana.
| وَإِلَى جِوَارِهِمْ رَمَّمَ التَّقُوعِيُّ | ٥ 5 |
And alongside of them repaired the Teko'ites; but their principal men put not their necks to the work of their Lord.
| وَرَمَّمَ يُويَادَاعُ بْنُ فَاسِيحَ وَمَشُلّامُ بْنُ بَسُودْيَا الْبَابَ الْعَتِيقَ، وَسَقَفَاهُ وَنَصَبَا مَصَارِيعَهُ وَأَقْفَالَهُ وَعَوَارِضَهُ. | ٦ 6 |
Moreover the old gate repaired Yoyada' the son of Passeach, and Meshullam the son of Bessodeyah: they laid its beams, and set up its doors, and its locks, and its bars.
| وَإِلَى جِوَارِهِمَا قَامَ مَلَطْيَا الْجِبْعُونِيُّ وَيَادُونُ الْمِيرُونُوثِيُّ مِنْ أَهْلِ جِبْعُونَ وَالْمِصْفَاةِ بِالتَّرْمِيمِ، حَتَّى وَصَلَ إِلَى قْصْر حَاكِمِ مِنْطَقَةِ غَرْبِيِّ الْفُرَاتِ. | ٧ 7 |
And alongside of them repaired Melatyah the Gib'onite, and Jadon the Meronothite, men of Gib'on and of Mizpah, unto the seat of the governor on this side of the river.
| وَرَمَّمَ إِلَى جِوَارِهِمَا عُزِّيئِيلُ بْنُ حَرْهَايَا الصَّائِغُ. وَإِلَى جَانِبِهِ رَمَّمَ حَنَنْيَا الْعَطَّارُ وَتَرَكُوا تَرْمِيمَ أُورُشَلِيمَ إِلَى السُّورِ الْعَرِيضِ. | ٨ 8 |
Alongside of him repaired 'Uzziel the son of Charhayah, of the goldsmiths. And alongside of him repaired Chananyah the son of one of the apothecaries, and they fortified Jerusalem as far as the broad wall.
| وَإِلَى جِوَارِهِمْ رَمَّمَ رَفَايَا بْنُ حُورٍ، رَئِيسُ نِصْفِ دَائِرَةِ أُورُشَلِيمَ، جُزْءاً مِنَ السُّورِ. | ٩ 9 |
And alongside of them repaired Rephayah the son of Chur, the chief of the half of the district of Jerusalem.
| كَمَا رَمَّمَ إِلَى جِوَارِهِمْ يَدَايَا بْنُ حَرُومَافَ القِسْمَ الْمُقَابِلَ لِبَيْتِهِ. وَإِلَى جَانِبِهِ رَمَّمَ حَطُّوشُ بْنُ حَشَبْنِيَا. | ١٠ 10 |
And alongside of them repaired Jedayah the son of Charumaph, and this opposite to his house. And alongside of him repaired Chattush the son of Chashabneyah.
| وَرَمَّمَ مَلْكِيَّا بْنُ حَارِيمَ وَحَشُّوبُ بْنُ فَحَثَ مُوآبَ قِسْماً ثَانِياً، بِالإِضَافَةِ إِلَى بُرْجِ التَّنَانِيرِ. | ١١ 11 |
Another division did Malkiyah the son of Charim, and Chashub the son of Pachathmoab, repair, as also the tower of the ovens.
| وَقَامَ إِلَى جَانِبِهِ شَلُّومُ بْنُ هَلُّوحِيشَ رَئِيسُ نِصْفِ دَائِرَةِ أُورُشَلِيمَ هُوَ وَبَنَاتُهُ بِالتَّرْمِيمِ. | ١٢ 12 |
And alongside of him repaired Shallum the son of Hallochesh, the chief of the other half of the district of Jerusalem, he and his daughters.
| وَرَمَّمَ حَانُونُ وَسُكَّانُ زَانُوحَ بَابَ الْوَادِي، وَنَصَبُوا مَصَارِيعَهُ وَأَقْفَالَهُ وَعَوَارِضَهُ، فَضْلاً عَنْ أَلْفِ ذِرَاعٍ (خَمْسِ مِئَةِ مِتْرٍ) مِنَ السُّورِ حَتَّى بَابِ الدِّمْنِ. | ١٣ 13 |
The gate of the valley repaired Chanun, and the inhabitants of Zanoach: they built it, and set up its doors, its locks, and its bars, and a thousand cubits of the wall as far as the dung-gate.
| وَرَمَّمَ مَلْكِيَّا بْنُ رَكَابَ رَئِيسُ دَائِرَةِ بَيْتِ هَكَّارِيمَ بَابَ الدِّمْنِ وَنَصَبَ مَصَارِيعَهُ وَأَقْفَالَهُ وَعَوَارِضَهُ. | ١٤ 14 |
And the dung-gate repaired Malkiyah the son of Rechah, the chief of the district of Beth-hakkerem: he built it, and set up its doors, its locks, and its bars.
| كَمَا رَمَّمَ شَلُّونُ بْنُ كَلْحُوزَةَ رَئِيسُ دَائِرَةِ الْمِصْفَاةِ بَابَ الْعَيْنِ وَسَقَفَهُ وَنَصَبَ مَصَارِيعَهُ وَأَقْفَالَهُ وَعَوَارِضَهُ، وَأَعَادَ بِنَاءَ سُورِ بِرْكَةِ سِلُوَامَ عِنْدَ حَدِيقَةِ الْمَلِكِ حَتَّى الدَّرَجِ الْمُنْحَدِرِ مِنْ مَدِينَةِ دَاوُدَ. | ١٥ 15 |
And the gate of the fountain repaired Shallum the son of Col-chozeh, the chief of the district of Mizpah: he built it and covered it, and set up its doors, its locks, and its bars, and the wall of the pool of Shelach by the king's garden, and as far as the stairs that lead down from the city of David.
| وَبَعْدَهُ رَمَّمَ نَحَمْيَا بْنُ عَزْبُوقَ رَئِيسُ نِصْفِ دَائِرَةِ بَيْتِ صُورَ جُزْءاً مِنَ السُّورِ حَتَّى مُقَابِلِ مَدَافِنِ دَاوُدَ، فَالْبِرْكَةِ الاصْطِنَاعِيَّةِ إِلَى بَيْتِ الأَبْطَالِ. | ١٦ 16 |
Next to him repaired Nehemiah the son of 'Azbuk, the chief of the half district of Beth-zur, as far as the place opposite to the sepulchres of David, and as far as the pool that was [newly] made, and as far as the house of the mighty men.
| وَإِلَى جِوَارِهِ قَامَ اللّاوِيُّونَ بِالتَّرْمِيمِ: رَحُومُ بْنُ بَانِي، وَإِلَى جَانِبِهِ قَامَ حَشَبْيَا رَئِيسُ نِصْفِ دَائِرَةِ قَعِيلَةَ بِتَرْمِيمِ الْجُزْءِ الَّذِي يَقَعُ فِي قِسْمِهِ. | ١٧ 17 |
Next to him repaired the Levites: Rechum the son of Bani. Alongside of him repaired Chashabyah, the chief of the half district of Ke'ilah, for his district.
| ثُمَّ رَمَّمَ إِخْوَتُهُمْ بِإِشْرَافِ بَوَّايَ بْنِ حِينَادَادَ رَئِيسِ نِصْفِ دَائِرَةِ قَعِيلَةَ قِسْماً. | ١٨ 18 |
Next to him repaired their brethren: Bavai the son of Chenadad, the chief of the [other] half district of Ke'ilah.
| كَمَا رَمَّمَ إِلَى جِوَارِهِ عَازَرُ بْنُ يَشُوعَ رَئِيسُ الْمِصْفَاةِ قِسْماً ثَانِياً، مِنْ أَمَامِ عَقَبَةِ مَخْزَنِ السِّلاحِ عِنْدَ الزَّاوِيَةِ. | ١٩ 19 |
And there repaired alongside of him 'Ezer the son of Joshua, the chief of Mizpah, another division, opposite to the ascent to the armory at the angle.
| وَتَلاهُ بَارُوخُ بْنُ زَبَّايَ فَرَمَّمَ بِحَمَاسٍ قِسْماً ثَانِياً، مِنَ الزَّاوِيَةِ حَتَّى مَدْخَلِ بَيْتِ أَلِيَاشِيبَ رَئِيسِ الْكَهَنَةِ. | ٢٠ 20 |
Next to him did Baruch the son of Zaccai' earnestly repair another division, from the angle as far as the door of the house of Elyashib the high priest.
| وَأَعْقَبَهُ مَرِيمُوثُ بْنُ أُورِيَّا بْنِ هَقُّوصَ، فَرَمَّمَ قِسْماً ثَانِياً مِنْ مَدْخَلِ بَيْتِ أَلِيَاشِيبَ إِلَى نِهَايَتِهِ. | ٢١ 21 |
Next to him repaired Meremoth the son of Uriyah the son of Hakkoz another division, from the door of the house of Elyashib even as far as the end of the house of Elyashib.
| ثُمَّ بَعْدَهُ قَامَ الْكَهَنَةُ أَهْلُ الْغَوْرِ بِالتَّرْمِيمِ. | ٢٢ 22 |
And next to him repaired the priests, the men of the plain [of Jordan].
| وَبَعْدَهُمْ رَمَّمَ بَنْيَامِينُ وَحَشُّوبُ قُبَالَةَ بَيْتِهِمَا. كَمَا رَمَّمَ عَزَرْيَا بْنُ مَعْسِيَا بْنِ عَنَنْيَا بِجَانِبِ بَيْتِهِ. | ٢٣ 23 |
Next to him repaired Benjamin and Chashub opposite to their house. Next to him repaired 'Azaryah the son of Ma'aseyah the son of 'Ananyah alongside of his house.
| وَإِلَى جِوَارِهِ رَمَّمَ بَنُّويُ بْنُ حِينَادَادَ قِسْماً ثَانِياً، ابْتِدَاءً مِنْ بَيْتِ عَزَرْيَا إِلَى الزَّاوِيَةِ فَالْعَطْفَةِ. | ٢٤ 24 |
Next to him repaired Binnui the son of Chenadad another division, from the house of 'Azaryah as far as the angle, and as far as the corner.
| وَرَمَّمَ فَالالُ بْنُ أُوزَايَ مِنْ مُقَابِلِ الزَّاوِيَةِ، وَالْبُرْجِ الْقَائِمِ خَارِجَ قَصْرِ الْمَلِكِ الأَعْلَى، عِنْدَ فِنَاءِ السِّجْنِ. وَأَعْقَبَهُ فَدَايَا بْنُ فَرْعُوشَ. | ٢٥ 25 |
Palal the son of Uzai [repaired] from opposite to the angle, and the tower which standeth out from the king's upper house, that was by the court of the prison. Next to him Pedayah the son of Par'osh.
| وَرَمَّمَ خُدَّامُ الْهَيْكَلِ السَّاكِنُونَ فِي الأَكَمَةِ حَتَّى مُقَابِلِ بَابِ الْمَاءِ شَرْقاً، وَالْبُرْجِ الْخَارِجِيِّ. | ٢٦ 26 |
And the temple-servants dwelt on the hill fort, [and they built] as far as opposite to the water-gate toward the east, and the tower that standeth out.
| كَذَلِكَ رَمَّمَ التَّقُوعِيُّونَ قِسْماً ثَانِياً فِي مُقَابِلِ الْبُرْجِ الْكَبِيرِ الْخَارِجِيِّ حَتَّى سُورِ الأَكَمَةِ. | ٢٧ 27 |
Next to them repaired the Teko'ites another division from opposite the great tower that standeth out, and as far as the wall of the hill fort.
| وَرَمَّمَ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنَ الْكَهَنَةِ الْجُزْءَ الْوَاقِعَ أَمَامَ بَيْتِهِ مِنَ الْقِسْمِ الْمُمْتَدِّ مِنْ بَابِ الْخَيْلِ. | ٢٨ 28 |
From above the horse-gate repaired the priests, every one opposite to his house.
| وَإِلَى جَانِبِهِمْ رَمَّمَ صَادُوقُ بْنُ إِمِّيرَ مُقَابِلَ بَيْتِهِ. وَإِلَى جِوَارِهِ قَامَ شَمَعْيَا بْنُ شَكَنْيَا حَارِسُ بَابِ الشَّرْقِ بِالتَّرْمِيمِ. | ٢٩ 29 |
Next to this repaired Zadok the son of Immer opposite to his house. And next to him repaired Shema'yah the son of Schechanyah, the keeper of the east gate.
| ثُمَّ رَمَّمَ حَنَنْيَا بْنُ شَلَمْيَا، وَحَانُونُ الابْنُ السَّادِسُ لِصَالافَ، قِسْماً ثَانِياً. كَمَا رَمَّمَ بِقُرْبِهِمَا مَشُلّامُ بْنُ بَرَخْيَا مُقَابِلَ مُخْدَعِهِ. | ٣٠ 30 |
Next to him repaired Chananyah the son of Shelemyah, and Chanun the sixth son of Zalaph another division. Next to him repaired Meshullam the son of Berechyah opposite to his chamber.
| وَإِلَى جَانِبِهِ رَمَّمَ مَلْكِيَّا بْنُ الصَّائِغِ حَتَّى بَيْتِ خُدَّامِ الْهَيْكَلِ، وَبَهْوِ التُّجَّارِ مُقَابِلَ بَابِ الْعَدِّ فَعَقَبَةِ الْعَطْفَةِ. | ٣١ 31 |
Next to him repaired Malkiyah the goldsmith's son as far as the house of the temple-servants, and of the merchants, opposite to the mustering-gate, and to the upper chamber of the corner.
| ثُمَّ رَمَّمَ الصَّاغَةُ وَالتُّجَّارُ مَا بَيْنَ عَقَبَةِ الْعَطْفَةِ إِلَى بَابِ الضَّأْنِ. | ٣٢ 32 |
And between the upper chamber of the corner and the sheep-gate repaired the goldsmiths and the merchants.
