قُضاة 3

١ 1 وَهَؤُلاءِ هُمُ الأُمَمُ الَّذِينَ تَرَكَهُمُ الرَّبُّ لِيَخْتَبِرَ بِهِمْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ الَّذِينَ لَمْ يَخُوضُوا أَيَّ حَرْبٍ مِنْ حُرُوبِ أَرْضِ كَنْعَانَ.

And these [are] the nations which he left Yahweh to put to [the] test by them Israel all [those] who not they had known all [the] wars of Canaan.

٢ 2 وَقَدْ فَعَلَ هَذَا فَقَطْ لِيُدَرِّبَ ذُرِّيَّةَ الإِسْرَائِيلِيِّينَ عَلَى الْحَرْبِ، مِمَّنْ لَمْ يُمَارِسُوهَا مِنْ قَبْلُ.

Only so as to know [the] generations of [the] people of Israel to teach them war only which before not they had known them.

٣ 3 وَهَؤُلاءِ الأُمَمُ هُمْ: أَقْطَابُ الْفِلِسْطِينِيِّينَ الْخَمْسَةُ، وَجَمِيعُ الْكَنْعَانِيِّينَ وَالصِّيدُونِيِّينَ وَالْحِوِّيِّينَ سُكَّانِ جَبَلِ لُبْنَانَ، مِنْ جَبَلِ بَعْلِ حَرْمُونَ إِلَى مَدْخَلِ حَمَاةَ.

[the] five - [the] rulers of [the] Philistines And all the Canaanite[s] and the Sidonian[s] and the Hivite[s] [who] dwelt of [the] mount of Lebanon from [the] mountain of Baal Hermon to Lebo Hamath.

٤ 4 وَقَدْ أَبْقَاهُمُ الرَّبُّ لِيَمْتَحِنَ إِسْرَائِيلَ بِهِمْ لِيَرَى إِنْ كَانُوا يُطِيعُونَ أَوَامِرَهُ الَّتِي أَوْصَى بِها آبَاءَهُمْ عَلَى لِسَانِ مُوسَى.

And they were to put to [the] test by them Israel to know ¿ will they obey [the] commandments of Yahweh which he had commanded ancestors their by [the] hand of Moses.

٥ 5 وَأَقَامَ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ بَيْنَ الْكَنْعَانِيِّينَ وَالأَمُورِيِّينَ وَالْفِرِزِّيِّينَ وَالْحِوِّيِّينَ وَالْيَبُوسِيِّينَ.

And [the] people of Israel they dwelt in [the] midst of the Canaanite[s] the Hittite[s] and the Amorite[s] and the Perizzite[s] and the Hivite[s] and the Jebusite[s].

٦ 6 وَتَزَوَّجُوا مِنْ بَنَاتِهِمْ، وَزَوَّجُوا بَنَاتِهِمْ لأَبْنَائِهِمْ وَعَبَدُوا آلِهَتَهُمْ.

And they took daughters their for themselves to wives and daughters their they gave to sons their and they served gods their.

٧ 7 فَارْتَكَبَ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ الشَّرَّ فِي عَيْنَيِ الرَّبِّ وَنَسُوا إِلَهَهُمْ وَعَبَدُوا الْبَعْلِيمَ وَالْعَشْتَارُوثَ.

And they did [the] people of Israel the evil in [the] eyes of Yahweh and they forgot Yahweh God their and they served the Baals and the Asherah poles.

٨ 8 فَاحْتَدَمَ غَضَبُ الرَّبِّ عَلَيْهِمْ، فَسَلَّطَ عَلَيْهِمْ كُوشَانَ رِشَعْتَايِمَ مَلِكَ أَرَامَ النَّهْرَيْنِ، فَاسْتَعْبَدَ كُوشَانُ رِشَعْتَايِمُ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ ثَمَانِيَ سَنَوَاتٍ.

And it burned [the] anger of Yahweh on Israel and he sold them in [the] hand of Cushan-Rishathaim [the] king of Aram Naharaim and they served [the] people of Israel Cushan-Rishathaim eight years.

٩ 9 وَاسْتَغَاثَ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ بِالرَّبِّ، فَأَقَامَ لَهُمْ مُخَلِّصاً أَنْقَذَهُمْ هُوَ عُثْنِيئِيلُ بْنُ قَنَازَ أَخُو كَالَبَ الأَصْغَرُ.

And they cried out [the] people of Israel to Yahweh and he raised up Yahweh a deliverer for [the] people of Israel and he delivered them Othniel [the] son of Kenaz [the] brother of Caleb young more than him.

١٠ 10 فَحَلَّ عَلَيْهِ رُوحُ الرَّبِّ وَصَارَ قَاضِياً لإِسْرَائِيلَ. وَحِينَ خَرَجَ لِمُحَارَبَةِ كُوشَانَ رِشَعْتَايِمَ مَلِكِ أَرَامَ، تَغَلَّبَ عَلَيْهِ، وَأَظْفَرَهُ الرَّبُّ بِهِ.

And it was on him [the] spirit of Yahweh and he judged Israel and he went out to war and he gave Yahweh in hand his Cushan-Rishathaim [the] king of Aram and it prevailed hand his over Cushan-Rishathaim.

١١ 11 وَعَمَّ السَّلامُ الْبِلادَ حِقْبَةَ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً، إِلَى أَنْ مَاتَ عُثْنِيئِيْلُ بْنُ قَنَازَ.

And it was at peace the land forty year[s] and he died Othniel [the] son of Kenaz.

١٢ 12 فَعَادَ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ يَقْتَرِفُونَ الشَّرَّ فِي عَيْنَيِ الرَّبِّ فَسَلَّطَ الرَّبُّ عَلَيْهِمْ عِجْلُونَ مَلِكَ مُوآبَ عِقَاباً لَهُمْ عَلَى شَرِّهِمْ.

And they repeated [the] people of Israel to do the evil in [the] eyes of Yahweh and he strengthened Yahweh Eglon [the] king of Moab over Israel on for they did the evil in [the] eyes of Yahweh.

١٣ 13 فَحَشَدَ ضِدَّهُمْ بَنِي عَمُّونَ وَعَمَالِيقَ، وَهَاجَمَهُمْ، وَاحْتَلَّ أَرِيحَا مَدِينَةَ النَّخْلِ.

And he gathered to himself [the] people of Ammon and Amalek and he went and he attacked Israel and they took possession of [the] city of the palm trees.

١٤ 14 وَاسْتَعْبَدَ عِجْلُونُ مَلِكُ مُوآبَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ ثَمَانِيَ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً.

And they served [the] people of Israel Eglon [the] king of Moab eight-teen year[s].

١٥ 15 فَاسْتَغَاثَ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ بِالرَّبِّ، فَأَرْسَلَ لَهُمْ مُنْقِذاً إِهُودَ بْنَ جِيرَا الْبَنْيَامِينِيَّ وَكَانَ أَعْسَرَ، فَبَعَثَ الإِسْرَائِيلِيُّونَ مَعَهُ الْجِزْيَةَ لِعِجْلُونَ مَلِكِ مُوآبَ.

And they cried out [the] people of Israel to Yahweh and he raised up Yahweh for them a deliverer Ehud [the] son of Gera [the] Ben-jaminite a man impeded [the] hand of right his and they sent [the] people of Israel by hand his tribute to Eglon [the] king of Moab.

١٦ 16 فَصَنَعَ إِهُودُ لِنَفْسِهِ سَيْفاً ذَا حَدَّيْنِ طُولُهُ ذِرَاعٌ (نَحْوَ نِصْفِ مِتْرٍ)، تَقَلَّدَهُ تَحْتَ ثِيَابِهِ فَوْقَ فَخْذِهِ الْيُمْنَى،

And he made for himself Ehud a sword and [belonged] to it two lips [was] a cubit length its and he girded it from under to garments his on [the] thigh of right his.

١٧ 17 وَقَدَّمَ الْجِزْيَةَ لِعِجْلُونَ مَلِكِ مُوآبَ. وَكَانَ عِجْلُونُ بَدِيناً جِدّاً.

And he brought near the tribute to Eglon [the] king of Moab and Eglon [was] a man fat very.

١٨ 18 وَبَعْدَ تَقْدِيمِ الْجِزْيَةِ صَرَفَ إِهُودُ حَامِلِيهَا مِنَ الْقَوْمِ،

And it was just when he had finished to bring near the tribute and he sent away the people [who] bore the tribute.

١٩ 19 وَرَجَعَ هُوَ مِنْ عِنْدِ الْمَحَاجِرِ الْمُجَاوِرَةِ لِلْجِلْجَالِ، وَقَالَ لِلْمَلِكِ:

And he he returned from the idols which [were] with Gilgal and he said a word of secrecy [belongs] to me to you O king and he said hush! and they went out from with him all those [who] stood with him.

٢٠ 20 «لَدَيَّ كَلامُ سِرٍّ لأُبَلِّغَكَ إِيَّاهُ أَيُّهَا الْمَلِكُ». فَصَرَفَ الْمَلِكُ كُلَّ الْمَوْجُودِينَ بِمَجْلِسِهِ لِيَنْفَرِدَ بِإِهُودَ

And Ehud - he came to him and he [was] sitting in [the] roof chamber of the coolness which [belonged] to him to only him and he said Ehud a word of God [belongs] to me to you and he rose from on the throne.

٢١ 21 فَاقْتَرَبَ آنَئِذٍ مِنْهُ إِهُودُ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ فِي عُلِّيَّتِهِ الْخَاصَّةِ، وَقَالَ لَهُ: «لَدَيَّ لَكَ رِسَالَةٌ مِنَ اللهِ». فَنَهَضَ الْمَلِكُ عَنْ سَرِيرِهِ. فَمَدَّ عِنْدَئِذٍ إِهُودُ يَدَهُ الْيُسْرَى وَاسْتَلَّ سَيْفَهُ عَنْ فَخْذِهِ الْيُمْنَى وَأَغْمَدَهُ فِي بَطْنِهِ

And he stretched out Ehud [the] hand of left his and he took the sword from on [the] thigh of right his and he thrust it in belly his.

٢٢ 22 حَتَّى غَاصَ الْقَائِمُ وَرَاءَ النَّصْلِ فَأَطْبَقَ الشَّحْمُ عَلَى النَّصْلِ الَّذِي اخْتَرَقَ ظَهْرَ الْمَلِكِ لأَنَّ إِهُودَ لَمْ يَجْذُبِ السَّيْفَ مِنْ بَطْنِ الْمَلِكِ.

And it went also the hilt after the blade and it closed up the fat behind the blade that not he drew out the sword from belly his and he went out the hole towards.

٢٣ 23 وَغَادَرَ إِهُودُ الرِّوَاقَ وَأَغْلَقَ خَلْفَهُ أَبْوَابَ الْعُلِّيَّةِ وَأَقْفَلَهَا.

And he went out Ehud the porch towards and he closed [the] doors of the roof chamber behind him and he locked [them].

٢٤ 24 وَمَا لَبِثَ أَنْ أَقْبَلَ خُدَّامُ الْمَلِكِ فَوَجَدُوا أَبْوَابَ الْعُلِّيَّةِ مُغْلَقَةً فَقَالُوا: «لَعَلَّهُ يَقْضِي حَاجَتَهُ فِي الْعُلِّيَّةِ الصَّيْفِيَّةِ».

And he he went forth and servants his they came and they saw and there! [the] doors of the roof chamber [were] locked and they said surely [is] covering he feet his in [the] chamber of the coolness.

٢٥ 25 فَلَبِثُوا مُنْتَظِرِينَ حَتَّى اعْتَرَاهُمُ الْقَلَقُ لأَنَّهُ لَمْ يَفْتَحْ أَبْوَابَ الْمُخْدَعِ فَأَخَذُوا مِفْتَاحاً وَفَتَحُوا الْبَابَ. وَإذَا سَيِّدُهُمْ سَاقِطٌ عَلَى الأَرْضِ مَيْتاً.

And they writhed until were ashamed and there! not he [was] opening [the] doors of the roof chamber and they took the key and they opened [them] and there! master their [was] lying [the] ground towards dead.

٢٦ 26 وَفِيمَا هُمْ مَبْهُوتُونَ فَرَّ إِهُودُ وَاجْتَازَ الْمَحَاجِرَ وَنَجَا إِلَى سَعِيرَةَ.

And Ehud he escaped until delayed they and he he passed by the idols and he escaped Seirah towards.

٢٧ 27 وَمَا إِنْ وَصَلَ إِلَى جَبَلِ أَفْرَايِمَ حَتَّى نَفَخَ بِالْبُوقِ، فَاجْتَمَعَ خَلْفَهُ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ مِنَ الْجَبَلِ، فَسَارَ فِي طَلِيعَتِهِمْ.

And it was when came he and he gave a blast on the ram's horn in [the] hill country of Ephraim and they went down with him [the] people of Israel from the hill country and he [was] before them.

٢٨ 28 وَقَالَ لَهُمْ: «اتْبَعُونِي لأَنَّ الرَّبَّ قَدْ دَفَعَ أَعْدَاءَكُمُ الْمُوآبِيِّينَ إِلَى أَيْدِيكُمْ» فَاحْتَشَدُوا وَرَاءَهُ وَاسْتَوْلَوْا عَلَى مَخَاوِضِ الأُرْدُنِّ الْمُفْضِيَةِ إِلَى مُوآبَ وَمَنَعُوا الأَعْدَاءَ مِنَ الْعُبُورِ.

And he said to them pursue after me for he has given Yahweh enemies your Moab in hand your and they went down after him and they captured [the] fords of the Jordan to Moab and not they permitted anyone to pass over.

٢٩ 29 وَهَاجَمُوا الْمُوآبِيِّينَ وَقَتَلُوا مِنْهُمْ نَحْوَ عَشَرَةِ آلافٍ مِنَ الْمُحَارِبِينَ الأَشِدَّاءِ.

And they struck down Moab at the time that about ten thousand man every stout [person] and every man of strength and not he escaped anyone.

٣٠ 30 فِي ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ خَضَعَ الْمُوآبِيُّونَ لِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ، وَعَمَّ السَّلامُ الْبِلادَ ثَمَانِينَ سَنَةً.

And it was subdued Moab on the day that under [the] hand of Israel and it was at peace the land eighty year[s].

٣١ 31 وَتَوَلَّى شَمْجَرُ بْنُ عَنَاةَ قَضَاءَ إِسْرَائِيلَ بَعْدَ إِهُودَ، فَقَتَلَ سِتَّ مِئَةِ رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْفِلِسْطِينِيِّينَ بِمِهْمَازِ بَقَرٍ، وَأَنْقَذَ إِسْرَائِيلَ.

And after him he was Shamgar [the] son of Anath and he struck down [the] Philistines six hundred man with [the] goad of cattle and he delivered also he Israel.
