أيُّوب 35

١ 1 وَقَالَ أَلِيهُو أَيْضاً:

And Elihu answers and says:

٢ 2 «أَتَحْسِبُ هَذَا عَدْلاً؟ ثُمَّ تَقُولُ: إِنَّ هَذَا حَقِّي أَمَامَ اللهِ،

“Have you reckoned this for judgment [when] you have said, My righteousness [is] more than God’s?

٣ 3 وَتَسْأَلُ: أَيَّةُ مَنْفَعَةٍ لِي؟ هَلْ أَكُونُ فِي حَالٍ أَفْضَلَ لَوْ لَمْ أُخْطِئْ؟

For you say, What does it profit You? What do I profit from my sin?

٤ 4 سَأُجِيبُكَ أَنْتَ وَأَصْدِقَاءَكَ مَعَكَ:

I return words, and your friends with you,

٥ 5 انْظُرْ إِلَى السَّمَاوَاتِ وَتَأَمَّلْ: تَفَرَّسْ فِي السُّحُبِ الشَّامِخَةِ فَوْقَكَ.

Behold attentively the heavens—and see, And behold the clouds, They have been higher than you.

٦ 6 إِنْ أَثِمْتَ فَمَاذَا يُؤَثِّرُ هَذَا فِيهِ؟ وَإِنْ كَثَّرْتَ خَطَايَاكَ فَأَيُّ شَيْءٍ يَلْحَقُ بِهِ؟

If you have sinned, what do you do against Him? And your transgressions have been multiplied, What do you do to Him?

٧ 7 وَإِنْ كُنْتَ بَارّاً فَمَاذَا تُعْطِيهِ؟ أَوْ مَاذَا يَأْخُذُ مِنْ يَدِكَ؟

If you have been righteous, What do you give to Him? Or what does He receive from your hand?

٨ 8 إِنَّ شَرَّكَ يُؤَثِّرُ فِي إِنْسَانٍ نَظِيرِكَ، وَبِرَّكَ يَفِيدُ فَقَطْ أَبْنَاءَ النَّاسِ.

For a man like yourself [is] your wickedness, And for a son of man your righteousness.

٩ 9 لأَنَّ مِنْ كَثْرَةِ الْجَوْرِ يَسْتَغِيثُ الْمَظْلُومُونَ طَلَباً لِلْخَلاصِ مِنْ قَبْضَةِ الْعُتَاةِ،

Because of the multitude of oppressions They cause to cry out, They cry because of the arm of the mighty.

١٠ 10 وَلَكِنْ لَا أَحَدَ يَقُولُ: أَيْنَ اللهُ صَانِعِي، الْوَاهِبُ تَرْنِيماً فِي اللَّيْلِ،

And none said, Where [is] God my Maker? Giving songs in the night,

١١ 11 الَّذِي عَلَّمَنَا أَكْثَرَ مِنْ وُحُوشِ الأَرْضِ، وَجَعَلَنَا أَعْظَمَ حِكْمَةً مِنْ طُيُورِ السَّمَاءِ.

Teaching us more than the beasts of the earth, Indeed, He makes us wiser than the bird of the heavens.

١٢ 12 يَسْتَغِيثُونَ بِهِ فَلا يُجِيبُ مِنْ جَرَّاءِ تَشَامُخِ الأَشْرَارِ

There they cry, and He does not answer, Because of the pride of evildoers.

١٣ 13 فَإِنْ كَانَ اللهُ لَا يَسْمَعُ لِصُرَاخِهِمِ الفَارِغِ، وَلا يَأْبَهُ القَدِيرُ لَهُ

Surely God does not hear vanity, And the Mighty does not behold it.

١٤ 14 فَكَمْ بِالأَحْرَى لَا يَسْمَعُ لَكَ عِنْدَمَا تَقُولُ إِنَّكَ لَا تَرَاهُ! لَكِنِ اصْبِرْ، فَدَعْوَاكَ أَمَامَهُ

Indeed, though you say you do not behold Him, Judgment [is] before Him, and stays for Him.

١٥ 15 وَالآنَ، لأَنَّهُ لَمْ يُجَازِ فِي غَضَبِهِ وَلَمْ يُبَالِ بِمُعَاقَبَةِ الإِثْمِ،

And now, because there is not, He has appointed His anger, And He has not known in great extremity.

١٦ 16 فَغَرَ أَيُّوبُ فَاهُ بِالْبَاطِلِ، وَأَكْثَرَ مِنَ الْكَلامِ بِجَهْلٍ!»

And Job opens his mouth [with] vanity, He multiplies words without knowledge.”
