إرْمِيا 25

١ 1 النُّبُوءَةُ الَّتِي أَوْحَى بِها الرَّبُّ إِلَى إِرْمِيَا عَنْ جَمِيعِ شَعْبِ يَهُوذَا، فِي السَّنَةِ الرَّابِعَةِ مِنْ حُكْمِ يَهُويَاقِيمَ بْنِ يُوشِيَّا مَلِكِ يَهُوذَا، الْمُوَافِقَةِ لِلسَّنَةِ الأُولَى مِنْ مُلْكِ نَبُوخَذْنَصَّرَ مَلِكِ بَابِلَ.

This is the word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, which was the first year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.

٢ 2 النُّبُوءَةُ الَّتِي خَاطَبَ بِها إِرْمِيَا النَّبِيُّ كُلَّ شَعْبِ يَهُوذَا وَجَمِيعَ سُكَّانِ أُورُشَلِيمَ قَائِلاً:

So the prophet Jeremiah spoke to all the people of Judah and all the residents of Jerusalem as follows:

٣ 3 «عَلَى مَدَى ثَلاثٍ وَعِشْرِينَ سَنَةً، أَيْ مُنْدُ السَّنَةِ الثَّالِثَةَ عَشَرَةَ مِنْ حُكْمِ يُوشِيَّا بْنِ آمُونَ مَلِكِ يَهُوذَا، وَحَتَّى هَذَا الْيَوْمِ، وَالرَّبُّ يُوْحِي إِلَيَّ بِكَلِمَتِهِ، فَخَاطَبْتُكُمْ بِها تَكْرَاراً مُنْذُ الْبَدْءِ وَلَكِنَّكُمْ لَمْ تَسْمَعُوا.

“From the thirteenth year of Josiah son of Amon king of Judah until this very day—twenty-three years—the word of the LORD has come to me, and I have spoken to you again and again, but you have not listened.

٤ 4 وَمَعَ أَنَّ الرَّبَّ قَدْ وَاظَبَ عَلَى إِرْسَالِ عَبِيدِهِ الأَنْبِيَاءِ إِلَيْكُمْ، فَإِنَّكُمْ لَمْ تُصْغُوا وَلَمْ تَسْتَمِعُوا لإِنْذَارَاتِهِ.

And the LORD has sent all His servants the prophets to you again and again, but you have not listened or inclined your ear to hear.

٥ 5 وَقَدْ قَالُوا لَكُمْ: تُوبُوا الآنَ. لِيَرْجِعْ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْكُمْ عَنْ طُرُقِهِ الشِّرِّيرَةِ وَمُمَارَسَاتِهِ الأَثِيمَةِ فَتُقِيمُوا فِي الأَرْضِ الَّتِي وَهَبَهَا لَكُمُ الرَّبُّ عَلَى مَدَى الدُّهُورِ،

The prophets told you, ‘Turn now, each of you, from your evil ways and deeds, and you can dwell in the land that the LORD has given to you and your fathers forever and ever.

٦ 6 وَلا تَضِلُّوا وَرَاءَ آلِهَةٍ أُخْرَى لِتَعْبُدُوهَا وَتَسْجُدُوا لَهَا، وَلا تُثِيرُوا غَيْظِي بِمَا تَصْنَعُهُ أَيْدِيكُمْ مِنْ أَوْثَانٍ. عِنْدَئِذٍ لَا أُنْزِلُ بِكُمْ أَذىً.

Do not follow other gods to serve and worship them, and do not provoke Me to anger with the works of your hands. Then I will do you no harm.’

٧ 7 غَيْرَ أَنَّكُمْ لَمْ تَسْمَعُوا لِي، بَلْ أَثَرْتُمْ غَيْظِي بِمَا جَنَتْهُ أَيْدِيكُمْ، فَاسْتَجْلَبْتُمْ عَلَى أَنْفُسِكُمُ الشَّرَّ».

‘But to your own harm, you have not listened to Me,’ declares the LORD, ‘so you have provoked Me to anger with the works of your hands.’

٨ 8 لِذَلِكَ هَكَذَا يَقُولُ الرَّبُّ الْقَدِيرُ: «لأَنَّكُمْ عَصَيْتُمْ كَلامِي،

Therefore this is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘Because you have not obeyed My words,

٩ 9 فَهَا أَنَا أُجَنِّدُ جَمِيعَ قَبَائِلِ الشِّمَالِ بِقِيَادَةِ نَبُوخَذْنَصَّرَ عَبْدِي، وَآتِي بِها إِلَى هَذِهِ الأَرْضِ فَيَجْتَاحُونَهَا وَيُهْلِكُونَ جَمِيعَ سُكَّانِهَا مَعَ سَائِرِ الأُمَمِ الْمُحِيطَةِ بِها، وَأَجْعَلُهُمْ مَثَارَ دَهْشَةٍ وَصَفِيرٍ، وَخَرَائِبَ أَبَدِيَّةً.

behold, I will summon all the families of the north, declares the LORD, and I will send for My servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, whom I will bring against this land, against its residents, and against all the surrounding nations. So I will devote them to destruction and make them an object of horror and contempt, an everlasting desolation.

١٠ 10 وَأُبِيدُ مِنْ بَيْنِهِمْ أَهَازِيجَ الْفَرَحِ وَالطَّرَبِ وَصَوْتَ غِنَاءِ الْعَرِيسِ وَالْعَرُوسِ، وَضَجِيجَ الرَّحَى وَنُورَ السِّرَاجِ.

Moreover, I will banish from them the sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of the bride and bridegroom, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the lamp.

١١ 11 فَتُصْبِحُ هَذِهِ الأَرْضُ بِأَسْرِهَا قَفْراً خَرَاباً، وَتُسْتَعْبَدُ جَمِيعُ هَذِهِ الأُمَمِ لِمَلِكِ بَابِلَ طَوَالَ سَبْعِينَ سَنَةً.

And this whole land will become a desolate wasteland, and these nations will serve the king of Babylon for seventy years.

١٢ 12 وَفِي خِتَامِ السَّبْعِينَ سَنَةً أُعَاقِبُ مَلِكَ بَابِلَ وَأُمَّتَهُ، وَأَرْضَ الْكَلْدَانِيِّينَ عَلَى إِثْمِهِمْ، وَأُحَوِّلُهَا إِلَى خَرَابٍ أَبَدِيٍّ»، يَقُولُ الرَّبُّ.

But when seventy years are complete, I will punish the king of Babylon and that nation, the land of the Chaldeans, for their guilt, declares the LORD, and I will make it an everlasting desolation.

١٣ 13 «وَأُنَفِّذُ فِي تِلْكَ الأَرْضِ كُلَّ الْقَضَاءِ الَّذِي نَطَقْتُ بِهِ عَلَيْهَا، كُلَّ مَا دُوِّنَ فِي هَذَا الْكِتَابِ وَتَنَبَّأَ بِهِ إِرْمِيَا عَلَى جَمِيعِ الأُمَمِ.

I will bring upon that land all the words I have pronounced against it, all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah has prophesied against all the nations.

١٤ 14 إِذْ أَنَّ أُمَماً كَثِيرَةً وَمُلُوكاً عُظَمَاءَ يَسْتَعْبِدُونَهُمْ أَيْضاً، وَهَكَذَا أُجَازِيهِمْ بِمُقْتَضَى أَفْعَالِهِمْ وَمَا جَنَتْهُ أَيْدِيهِمْ مِنْ أَعْمَالٍ أَثِيمَةٍ».

For many nations and great kings will enslave them, and I will repay them according to their deeds and according to the work of their hands.’”

١٥ 15 وَهَذَا مَا أَعْلَنَهُ لِيَ الرَّبُّ إِلَهُ إِسْرَائِيلَ: «خُذْ كَأْسَ خَمْرِ غَضَبِي مِنْ يَدِي، وَاسْقِ مِنْهَا جَمِيعَ الأُمَمِ الَّتِي أُرْسِلُكَ إِلَيْهَا،

This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, said to me: “Take from My hand this cup of the wine of wrath, and make all the nations to whom I send you drink from it.

١٦ 16 فَتَشْرَبَ وَتَتَرَنَّحَ، وَتُجَنَّ بِفِعْلِ السَّيْفِ الَّذِي أُرْسِلُهُ بَيْنَهَا».

And they will drink and stagger and go out of their minds, because of the sword that I will send among them.”

١٧ 17 فَتَنَاوَلْتُ الْكَأْسَ مِنْ يَدِ الرَّبِّ وَسَقَيْتُ مِنْهَا جَمِيعَ الأُمَمِ الَّتِي بَعَثَنِي إِلَيْهَا الرَّبُّ:

So I took the cup from the LORD’s hand and made all the nations drink from it, each one to whom the LORD had sent me,

١٨ 18 أُورُشَلِيمَ وَمُدُنَ يَهُوذَا وَمُلُوكَهَا وَعُظَمَاءَهَا، لأَجْعَلَهَا قَفْراً خَرَاباً وَمَثَارَ صَفِيرٍ وَلَعْنَةٍ إِلَى هَذَا الْيَوْمِ.

to make them a ruin, an object of horror and contempt and cursing, as they are to this day—Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, its kings and officials;

١٩ 19 وَسَقَيْتُ مِنْهَا كَذَلِكَ فِرْعَوْنَ مَلِكَ مِصْرَ وَخُدَّامَهُ وَعُظَمَاءَهُ وَكُلَّ شَعْبِهِ،

Pharaoh king of Egypt, his officials, his leaders, and all his people;

٢٠ 20 وَكُلَّ الْغُرَبَاءِ الْمُقِيمِينَ فِي وَسَطِهِمْ، وَجَمِيعَ مُلُوكِ أَرْضِ عُوصَ، وَسَائِرَ مُلُوكِ الْفِلِسْطِينِيِّينَ: مُلُوكَ أَشْقَلُونَ، وَغَزَّةَ، وَعَقْرُونَ وَبَقِيَّةَ أَشْدُودَ،

all the mixed tribes; all the kings of Uz; all the kings of the Philistines: Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod;

٢١ 21 وَأَدُومَ، وَمُوآبَ، وَبَنِي عَمُّونَ،

Edom, Moab, and the Ammonites;

٢٢ 22 وَكُلَّ مُلُوكِ صُورَ وَصِيدُونَ وَمُلُوكَ الْجَزَائِرِ عَبْرَ الْبَحْرِ،

all the kings of Tyre and Sidon; the kings of the coastlands across the sea;

٢٣ 23 وَدَدَانَ وَتَيْمَاءَ وَبُوزَ، وَكُلَّ ذَوِي الشَّعْرِ الْمَقْصُوصِ الزَّوَايَا،

Dedan, Tema, Buz, and all who cut the corners of their hair;

٢٤ 24 وَكُلَّ مُلُوكِ الْعَرَبِ، وَسَائِرَ مُلُوكِ الْقَبَائِلِ الْمُنْضَمَّةِ إِلَيْهِمْ الْمُقِيمِينَ فِي الصَّحْرَاءِ،

all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mixed tribes who dwell in the desert;

٢٥ 25 وَكُلَّ مُلُوكِ زِمْرِي، وَعِيلامَ، وَجَمِيعَ مُلُوكِ مَادِي.

all the kings of Zimri, Elam, and Media;

٢٦ 26 وَكُلَّ مُلُوكِ الشِّمَالِ، الْقَرِيبِينَ وَالْبَعِيدِينَ، الْوَاحِدَ تِلْوَ الآخَرِ، وَكُلَّ الْمَمَالِكِ الْمُنْتَشِرَةِ عَلَى وَجْهِ الأَرْضِ. ثُمَّ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ يَشْرَبُ مِنْهَا مَلِكُ بَابِلَ.

all the kings of the north, both near and far, one after another—all the kingdoms on the face of the earth. And after all of them, the king of Sheshach will drink it too.

٢٧ 27 ثُمَّ قُلْ لَهُمْ، هَذَا مَا يُعْلِنُهُ الرَّبُّ الْقَدِيرُ إِلَهُ إِسْرَائِيلَ: اشْرَبُوا وَاسْكَرُوا وَتَقَيَّأُوا وَاسْقُطُوا صَرْعَى، وَلا تَقُومُوا مِنْ جَرَّاءِ السَّيْفِ الَّذِي أُرْسِلُهُ فِي وَسَطِكُمْ.

“Then you are to tell them that this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: ‘Drink, get drunk, and vomit. Fall down and never get up again, because of the sword I will send among you.’

٢٨ 28 وَإِنْ أَبَوْا أَنْ يَتَنَاوَلُوا الْكَأْسَ مِنْ يَدِكَ لِيَشْرَبُوا مِنْهَا، فَقُلْ لَهُمْ: هَذَا مَا يُعْلِنُهُ الرَّبُّ الْقَدِيرُ: لابُدَّ لَكُمْ مِنْ شُرْبِهَا،

If they refuse to take the cup from your hand and drink it, you are to tell them that this is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘You most certainly must drink it!

٢٩ 29 لأَنِّي شَرَعْتُ أُعَاقِبُ الْمَدِينَةَ الَّتِي دُعِيَ اسْمِي عَلَيْهَا، فَهَلْ تُفْلِتُونَ أَنْتُمْ مِنَ الْعِقَابِ؟ فَهَا أَنَا قَدْ سَلَّطْتُ السَّيْفَ عَلَى جَمِيعِ سُكَّانِ الأَرْضِ، يَقُولُ الرَّبُّ الْقَدِيرُ.

For behold, I am beginning to bring disaster on the city that bears My Name, so how could you possibly go unpunished? You will not go unpunished, for I am calling down a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, declares the LORD of Hosts.’

٣٠ 30 أَمَّا أَنْتَ فَتَنَبَّأْ عَلَيْهِمْ بِكُلِّ هَذَا الْقَضَاءِ، وَقُلْ لَهُمْ: «الرَّبُّ يَزْأَرُ مِنَ الْعَلاءِ، وَمِنَ مَسْكَنِ قُدْسِهِ يُدَوِّي صَوْتُهُ. يَزْأَرُ زَئِيراً عَلَى مَسْكَنِهِ، وَيَجْهَرُ هَاتِفاً عَلَى جَمِيعِ سُكَّانِ الأَرْضِ كَمَا يَجْهَرُ الدَّائِسُونَ عَلَى الْعِنَبِ».

So you are to prophesy all these words against them and say to them: ‘The LORD will roar from on high; He will raise His voice from His holy habitation. He will roar loudly over His pasture; like those who tread the grapes, He will call out with a shout against all the inhabitants of the earth.

٣١ 31 قَدْ بَلَغَتِ الْجَلَبَةُ جَمِيعَ أَقَاصِي الأَرْضِ، لأَنَّ لِلرَّبِّ دَعْوَى عَلَى الأُمَمِ، فَيَدْخُلُ فِي مُحَاكَمَةٍ مَعَ الْبَشَرِ، وَيُلْقِي بِالأَشْرَارِ إِلَى السَّيْفِ.

The tumult will resound to the ends of the earth because the LORD brings a charge against the nations. He brings judgment on all mankind and puts the wicked to the sword,’”

٣٢ 32 هَا الشَّرُّ يَنْدَفِعُ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ إِلَى أُمَّةٍ، وَهَا زَوْبَعَةٌ رَهِيبَةٌ تَثُورُ مِنْ أَقْصَى أَطْرَافِ الأَرْضِ.

This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Behold! Disaster is spreading from nation to nation; a mighty storm is rising from the ends of the earth.”

٣٣ 33 وَيَنْتَشِرُ قَتْلَى غَضَبِ الرَّبِّ فِي ذَلِكَ الْيَومِ مِنْ أَقْصَى الأَرْضِ إِلَى أَقْصَاهَا. لَا يَنُوحُ عَلَيْهِمْ أَحَدٌ، وَلا يُجْمَعُونَ وَلا يُدْفَنُونَ، بَلْ يَصِيرُونَ نُفَايَةً فَوْقَ سَطْحِ الأَرْضِ.

Those slain by the LORD on that day will be spread from one end of the earth to the other. They will not be mourned, gathered, or buried. They will be like dung lying on the ground.

٣٤ 34 وَلْوِلُوا أَيُّهَا الرُّعَاةُ وَابْكُوا، تَمَرَّغُوا فِي الرَّمَادِ يَا قَادَةَ الشَّعْبِ، لأَنَّ أَوَانَ ذَبْحِكُمْ قَدْ حَانَ، فَأُشَتِّتُكُمْ فَتَسْقُطُونَ (وَتَتَنَاثَرُونَ) كَإِنَاءٍ فَاخِرٍ.

Wail, you shepherds, and cry out; roll in the dust, you leaders of the flock. For the days of your slaughter have come; you will fall and be shattered like fine pottery.

٣٥ 35 لَنْ يَبْقَى لِلرُّعَاةِ مَلْجَأٌ يَلُوذُونَ بِهِ، وَلا مَهْرَبٌ لِقَادَةِ الشَّعْبِ.

Flight will evade the shepherds, and escape will elude the leaders of the flock.

٣٦ 36 اسْمَعُوا صَوْتَ الرُّعَاةِ وَوَلْوَلَةَ قَادَةِ الشَّعْبِ، لأَنَّ الرَّبَّ يُتْلِفُ مَرَاعِيَهُمْ.

Hear the cry of the shepherds, the wailing of the leaders of the flock, for the LORD is destroying their pasture.

٣٧ 37 عَمَّ الْخَرَابُ الْمَوَاقِعَ الَّتِي يَسُودُهَا السَّلامُ مِنْ فَرْطِ غَضَبِ اللهِ الْعَنِيفِ.

The peaceful meadows have been silenced because of the LORD’s burning anger.

٣٨ 38 قَدْ هَجَرَ كَالشِّبْلِ عَرِينَهُ، لأَنَّ الأَرْضَ قَدْ صَارَتْ خَرَاباً مِنْ سَيْفِ الْعَاتِي، مِنْ شِدَّةِ احْتِدَامِ غَضَبِهِ.

He has left His den like a lion, for their land has been made a desolation by the sword of the oppressor, and because of the fierce anger of the LORD.
