هُوشَع 8

١ 1 ضَعِ الْبُوقَ بَيْنَ شَفَتَيْكَ لِتَنْفُخَ فِيهِ، لأَنَّ نَسْراً يَنْقَضُّ عَلَى بَيْتِ الرَّبِّ، فَإِنَّ الشَّعْبَ قَدْ نَقَضُوا عَهْدِي وَتَعَدَّوْا عَلَى شَرِيعَتِي.

Set the trumpet to thy mouth. He shall come as an eagle against the house of the LORD, because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law.

٢ 2 يَسْتَغِيثُونَ بِي قَائِلِينَ: «يَا إِلَهَنَا، إِنَّنَا نَعْرِفُكَ، فَنَحْنُ إِسْرَائِيلَ شَعْبُكَ».

Israel shall cry to me, My God, we know thee.

٣ 3 غَيْرَ أَنَّ إِسْرَائِيلَ قَدْ مَقَتَ الْخَيْرَ، لِهَذَا يُطَارِدُهُ عَدُوٌّ.

Israel hath cast off the thing that is good: the enemy shall pursue him.

٤ 4 قَدْ نَصَبُوا لَهُمْ مُلُوكاً وَلَكِنْ مِنْ غَيْرِ رِضَايَ، وَأَقَامُوا رُؤَسَاءَ مِنْ غَيْرِ مُوَافَقَتِي، وَصَنَعُوا بِذَهَبِهِمْ وَفِضَّتِهِمْ أَصْنَاماً تَؤُولُ إِلَى هَلاكِهِمْ.

They have set up kings, but not by me: they have made princes, and I knew it not: of their silver and their gold have they made for themselves idols, that they may be cut off.

٥ 5 لَشَدَّ مَا أَزْدَرِي عِجْلَكِ أَيَّتُهَا السَّامِرَةُ، وَهَا غَضَبِي قَدِ احْتَدَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَإِلَى مَتَى يَظَلُّونَ عَاجِزيِنَ عَنِ النَّقَاوَةِ؟

Thy calf, O Samaria, hath cast thee off; my anger is kindled against them: how long will it be ere they attain to innocency?

٦ 6 إِنَّهُ صَنْعَةُ عَامِلٍ إِسْرَائِيلِيٍّ وَلَيْسَ إِلَهاً، وَلابُدَّ أَنْ يَصِيرَ عِجْلُ السَّامِرَةِ حُطَاماً.

For from Israel was it also: the workman made it; therefore it is not God: but the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.

٧ 7 إِنَّهُمْ يَزْرَعُونَ الرِّيحَ، وَسَيَحْصُدُونَ الزَّوْبَعَةَ. زَرْعٌ عَقِيمٌ لَا يَصْنَعُ دَقِيقاً، وَإِنْ صَنَعَ يَلْتَهِمُهُ الْغُرَبَاءُ.

For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no stalk: the bud shall yield no meal: if it shall yield, the strangers shall swallow it up.

٨ 8 قَدِ ابْتُلِعَ إِسْرَائِيلُ، وَأَصْبَحَ بَيْنَ الشُّعُوبِ كَإِنَاءٍ لَا جَدْوَى مِنْهُ،

Israel is swallowed up: now shall they be among the Gentiles as a vessel in which is no pleasure.

٩ 9 لأَنَّ أَبْنَاءَ إِسْرَائِيلَ لَجَأُوا إِلَى أَشُّورَ كَحِمَارٍ وَحْشِيٍّ مُتَوَحِّدٍ شَرِيدٍ، وَاسْتَأْجَرَ أَفْرَايِمُ مُحِبِّينَ

For they have gone up to Assyria, a wild donkey alone by himself: Ephraim hath hired lovers.

١٠ 10 وَإِنْ كَانُوا يَسْتَأْجِرُونَ حُلَفَاءَ مِنْ بَيْنِ الأُمَمِ، فَإِنِّي أَجْمَعُهُمُ الآنَ، فَيَتَحَرَّرُونَ إِلَى حِينٍ مِنْ نِيرِ الْمَلِكِ وَالرُّؤَسَاءِ.

Yea, though they have hired among the nations, now will I gather them, and they shall sorrow a little for the burden of the king of princes.

١١ 11 أَكْثَرَ أَفْرَايِمُ مِنْ تَشْيِيدِ الْمَذَابِحِ لِيُصْعِدَ عَلَيْهَا ذَبَائِحَ الْخَطِيئَةِ، فَأَصْبَحَتْ هَذِهِ مَذَابِحَ لاِرْتِكَابِ الْخَطِيئَةِ.

Because Ephraim hath made many altars to sin, altars shall be to him to sin.

١٢ 12 قَدْ كَتَبْتُ لَهُمْ بِكَثْرَةٍ شَرِيعَتِي لَكِنَّهُمْ حَسَبُوهَا غَرِيبَةً عَنْهُمْ.

I have written to him the great things of my law, but they were counted as a strange thing.

١٣ 13 يَذْبَحُونَ الذَّبَائِحَ الْمُقَرَّبَةَ إِلَيَّ لِيَأْكُلُوا لُحُومَهَا، لَا لِيُقَدِّمُوهَا إِلَيَّ. وَلَكِنِّي لَا أُسَرُّ بِها. وَالآنَ أَذْكُرُ إِثْمَهُمْ وَأُعَاقِبُهُمْ عَلَى خَطَايَاهُمْ وَإِلَى مِصْرَ يَرْجِعُونَ.

They sacrifice flesh for the sacrifices of my offerings, and eat it; but the LORD accepteth them not; now will he remember their iniquity, and judge their sins: they shall return to Egypt.

١٤ 14 لأَنَّ إِسْرَائِيلَ قَدْ نَسِيَ خَالِقَهُ، وَشَيَّدَ قُصُوراً، وَأَكْثَرَ يَهُوذَا مِنْ بِنَاءِ الْمُدُنِ الْمُحَصَّنَةِ، لِهَذَا سَأُرْسِلُ نَاراً عَلَى هَذِهِ الْمُدُنِ فَتَلْتَهِمُ حُصُونَهُ.

For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and buildeth temples; and Judah hath multiplied fortified cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour his palaces.
